Florida Power & Light [FPL] being overcharged for daily usage from feb 23 to present

I noticed during the cycle February 23, 2018 thru present, I am being overcharged (double) for my daily usage. Since February 23, 2018, I haven't been using central air and NEVER central heat so how can my daily usage be higher? During this timeframe, there is NO NEED to use central air -- blame that on the weather. The few cold days, I used a space heater, which doesn't use much energy?

I view my dashboard everyday ... Please STOP adding figures to my usage -- lower my daily usage . . .

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electrical service

My power pedestal was destroyed in the hurricane. I did not close the account hoping the landlord would correct the issue. It since then has not been rectified, and i have been getting charged a "customer charge" every month since. I have had "0" kilowatt usage and have still been getting charged. Your customer service representative explained that the fees were taxes for making sure my email was up to date, and to send me my monthly bill; which is paperless.
I demand a proper explanation for the fees. Considering i have no other options in the state of florida for power service, i feel your company is providing a disservice and is not adequately providing me with the information i am requesting, nor providing fair billing service.
The box was destroyed, why has no fpl technician been out there to make sure i would be able to have power in the first place.
I am requesting a response by the end-of-day, monday the 12th.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] lower utility bill

Just received notice that fpl was reducing my electric bill by $3.35 per month due to the trump tax cut for big business, the rich and famous. This is great news! After borrowing $1.5trillion from the taxpayers to give trump (and others) about a $20m tax reduction, they have generously decided to "share their ill gotten gains". If we give them another $4.5 trillion, we can expect a total reduction of about $10.00 and be able to buy a latte at bigbucks coffee shop. This is the american way. We give (they take, actually borrow) $1.5trillion, and give workers a one-time check of $1, 000. They take their 20% reduction forever; however, in 10 years, we have to pay back the $1.5trillion loan by reduction of social security (that we paid for, but the spent years ago, medicare, medicade and other, so called "entitlements". Be sure to than your republican reps in the next november election, but until then, just pay increased interest rates and "don't worry, be happy".

Florida Power & Light [FPL] account number [protected] la peleteria shoes vii

My name is Antonio Perez and I can be reached at [protected] and Christine Perez and I can be reached at [protected], I am a business owner that has 7 business accounts with FPL. I had requested that all of my accounts be put on automatic billing by submitting the forms to FPL and the form for one store was never updated for automatic billing. I reached out to FPL twice to get the automatic billing for one store in particular and I have never had it updated to automatic billing. My other account numbers are La Peleteria Shoes II, Inc. Account Number [protected], La Peleteria Incorporated Account Number [protected], La Peleteria Shoes VIII, Inc. Account Number [protected], La Peleteria Shoes V, Inc. Account Number [protected], Natural Shoewear Corp. Account Number [protected], Shoes 4 U of Miami Lakes Corp.

I receive all of my correspondence at a P.O. Box since I have seven stores and I check the mail once a week. On February 26, 2018 I received a request for a deposit to be made for La Peleteria Shoes 7, Inc. in the amount of $354.00. On February 26, 2018 I called FPL to speak to a representative to advise that this account was to be on automatic billing exactly the same as my other six accounts. I called and I spoke to Letty Id Number 4234 to question why I was receiving the request for a deposit on this account and she was very unprofessional and aggressive, when I asked to speak to a manager or a person on a higher level of authority she told me that she was the highest level in that department. This is not the representative that should be in customer service for business accounts as she represents an unhelpful, aggressive, unprofessional and not well trained employee. She only repeats herself and does not allow customers to even speak and does not offer any options to resolve the matter. FPL has to retrain this employee Letty Id Number 4234, and train their employees to be helpful and try and resolve the Business Customers Situations. FPL has to get people who will do the job with Humanity, Dedication and Love Knowing that the light is not only a service, its indispensable and necessary for all human beings. It cannot be only about the money we all have to pay because its unfair to receive a service and not pay. But its also unfair when you have an issue that FPL instead of helping you, the employee is only trained to take money from the customers.

After being humiliated, bullied and verbally abused of power by Ms. Letty Id Number 4234. Finally Ms. Contreras Ext. 4015 called me and treated me with Humanity, with Respect, and listened to my problem and if I ever have a big powerful business like FPL I would like to have someone like her on my side. The problem was resolved in no time. Thank you. God Bless

Antonio Perez

Florida Power & Light [FPL] unanswered correspondence since april 2017

A first letter in April 2017 concerning a problem with meter replacement as well as a follow-up letter dated December 12, 2017 were sent, both letters remaining unanswered as of now.

Both letters sent to 700 Universe Boulevard, Juno Beach FL 33408.

Here is the content of the letter :

Last January (2017), your employee tried to install new meters at the above address. Unfortunately, his job did not turn out very well. Five socket meters were damaged and one of them even sparked leaving one condo unit without electricity. The good news was that the occupants of that specific unit were absent for the season.

This situation resulted in five owners receiving notice letters from FPL to urge them to make repairs, or their electricity would be cut off. Since this is a condo association, we took care of the repairs, which were performed March 13th last by MMJ Electric, statewide certified, and inspected by the city inspector on March 27th. Total cost 3 150 $ for five (5) meter sockets, 562.95 $ City permits, and 720 $ electrician labour for a grand total of
4 432.95 $.

Hawaiian Gardens is comprised of eight (8) phases consisting of four (4) or more buildings per phase, ours not being the oldest one. We believe that lots of meters have already been changed and we did not hear of any similar situation like ours, which leads us to believe that the job has not been performed with state of the art.

For that reason, we strongly believe that you consider your part of responsibility in that matter and split the above mentioned costs to 60 % ours (aging of the equipment) and 40 % yours (human error).
We will be waiting for your decision on that specific matter.

Hoping, this time, to get an answer.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electricity service

This is the worst company I have dealt with by far. They kept on raising my bill and changing the date the bill was due. This company doesn't let a couple of days passed after the due date before disconnecting service. When I went to pay, they said I owed them 2 months which I paid to get me balance to zero. Exactly one month later, they disconnected my service. After I paid, they claim now I owed them $935 because they are adding a deposit of $619 on account. When I asked them where the other $315 came from, I was told, after a lot of running around, that it was for next month. When I went to pay the deposit a couple of days later, I am told that the $315 now is for the billing period that ended 20 days ago and I am going to have another bill in 10 days.
What is going on with this company? They kept on scamming people because they have a monopoly on the service and the only way to get rid of them is by going green. Because of these con artists, I am seriously considering installing a solar panel on my roof.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] bill and service

Been with this company since December 2017 every month I'm being charged $30 for something first invalid bank account twice. With that being said I checked all my account information with the bank several times everything is was right I even allow somebody else to put the information in and they still said it was involved account information. I paid the extra $30 with whatever the bill is and then they take $30 that I paid on my bill so it wouldn't be late because I got an extension put it toward a security deposit which made it look like I didn't honor the extension ... This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with I've never had problems I lived in Tampa, Baltimore, New Jersey and Georgia this is the worse.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] unauthorized charges!

Bill went from $88.39 FOR: Nov. 17th thru Dec. 19th 2017 and JUMPED to MORE THAN DOUBLE $199.67 FOR: Dec 19th thru Jan.22nd 2018!

This is a ONE bedroom TINY home! I have lived in Ocean Village Villas for over 7 years (3 different 1 bed condos) and NEVER had this large of a bill unless it were the HOT months of the year!

There is NO OPTION to SPEAK to a HUMAN when you call them!

When you opt for 'power problem' you may get a HUMAN, and then they transfer u to another...and then they tell you "You have been running your heat..." When u tell them there is NO WAY, they tell you, " We haven't had temps below 30 degrees..." Um, I have lived in FLORIDA for over 15 years. And yes, we HAVE!

Someone has MIS READ my meter & This bill is WRONG and FPL does NOT care! They are rotten, rude, and have HORRIBLE customer service!

Where is their flippin' EMAIL ADDRESS! Ugh! Corporate will do.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] new service

We are building a house in Ft Pierce and paperwork was put in for service in April in Nov we were told we would have to lay all the pipe and pay a ridiculous amount of money to have power. We paid back at the beginning of December laid pipe and still have no power. FPL took our money and so far we have nothing to show for it and have been waiting for our house for a year.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electric bill charges incorrect

I left on September 29, 2017 to visit my daughter and sister in Georgia. I returned on January 17, 2018. Before I left I unplugged every electrical device including my Internet modem and to. The only thing left on was the refrigerator. Prior to my leaving the Landlord installed a new AHU unit with compressor and a hot water heater. There has been no one staying n my 608 sq. ft. apartment. I thought my electric bill would go down considerably but it stayed about the same give or take a few dollars.I want to know why. Was the meter not read and the amount of usage estimated? Please advise why there was no change in my bill. I am a disabled senior on a limited income and every dollar I save is relay needed. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully,
Rev. Carol Ward

Florida Power & Light [FPL] frayed wire near the weatherhead of house (roof)

I called FPL at 8am on 1/9/18 to let them know that I noticed quite a bit of frayed wire on the roof of my house where the wire and the weatherhead meet. I'm extremely worried about a possible house fire. The person took notes, I received two calls immediately afterwards from a person by the name of Madonna. First time was to confirm my call and the 2nd time was to confirm that it would be okay for FPL to go on my property. By 3:30 when my husband got home from work he looked to see if anything was on the door or messages. NOTHING. I called and in FPL's notes it said "The power is working fine and everything looks good." You have GOT to be kidding! Either no one went to the house to look or the person is completely blind!

FPL went out again but this time the person called and stated what looks from the ground up like frayed wire is actually MOSS. I really didn't believe it so when I got home I got the ladder out and took my camera phone with me so I could zoom in and it really is MOSS! I was wrong and I apologize for this post. It would have been nice for them to put in their notes that it was just moss and then when I called the first time, I could have checked to verify. Instead it made it look like they only checked to see if my power was working. I apologize to FPL for doing this post though.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] home serve independent co separated from utility but representing fla power and light

Florida Power & Light [FPL] abusive behavior

Good morning Sr,
I am contacting you to request help given an abusive behavior from FPL (which has the monopoly of energy in Miami, no competition at all, so feel free to apply all their local policies without take into consideration the human component of the people that use the electricity).
I am an emigrant, Cuban, and I struggle to keep advancing my education here in USA at the same time I keep up with the bills and I provide for my family.
My wife is a Registeted dental Hygienist but she does not have currently a job, we raise two children in public school and the only income in my house right now is my one, I am a physician In-Training doing fellowship, total of 8 years training and I am struggling to keep me up for 1 1/2 year more. (I actually have to keep my mortgage in miami plus another rent of an Studio at St. Louis, MO beside the university hospital where I currently get trained)
I am not asking for one cent, no from your office, no from FPL, I only ask your moral support to prevent abuse, now my accumulated bill for 2 months with the FPL is 600s usd, but they charged me and I already paid months ago 704 usd EXTRA that they want to have in Advanced, sitting down in their FPL millonary bank account, just more money their side, as "security" for the account, but they denie to use it, only want that for their huge bank investment. It is December but they don't believe in Christmas, for that day I will have my electricity at the house desconected, I am having a very financial hard time right now, the only thing I asked FPL was to used the 704 usd I payed out of my pocket months ago, (money they keep like ornament in their account) to paid off completely my current bill, and they still will be able to keep some dollar in excess on their favor, my bill is 640usd and they have extra of 704usd from me. Companies in the 4 corner of the US continent have been helping Floridian after the hurricane, but the FPL Monopoly don't feel they need to support people (because they easily can hurt us turning off electricity service even without ask if a child is sick, because they clearly don't care).
Only I ask you is support, please authorized them to accept my money, 704usd in currently excess in my account (under security) to paid off my current bill of 600s and even after that, they still will be able to keep some extra money.
That way I received a relief and can avoid disconection and start January with payment on time, without pendings.
Request was denied by Customer service call.
Thank you for support during my USA education.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] unethical behavior

On Wednesday, November 22nd upon my return to my house 10212 SW 27 Street, Miami, Florida I see three men coming onto my property in the back and opening a hole in the ground. I told one employee to stop and kept on walking in the back garden. I stated again to stop to no avail. I asked for a supervisor; whom stated that they were there to complete a new underground line installation. I asked who gave them permission, to identify themselves and show me proof that they were assigned to do the job; of which none was provided. They called a supervisor on the phone who stated to me (over the phone) that they are subcontractors of FPL and were assigned to do the installation job.

This event is completely unacceptable and no proof was provided to me to enter into MY PROPERTY. I expect a phone call from management to clarify this act of entering without permission. Additionally the employees were unable to fully explain their responsibility in the job assignment.
Pls. call me at [protected]

I had the same problem. 8 men came into my yard and threatened to hurt my dog to my neighbors while I was not home.
There are many complaints about these guys. This is unacceptable and illegal. We should all band together and do something about it.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] requesting new commercial power design for new construction - no response from fpl

I have been requesting a review of our construction plans out of the Broward service center (33311) and my requests have been ignored by the engineers ( I have the names if needed) since before August.
I find this concerning as all the surrounding offices are able to respond to my requests within a couple days.
Even When I have been called back by the office administrator the engineer still does not reach out and make contact. It has been two weeks since I was last promised he would reach out.

No one being accountable is hard to swallow when you are trying to build new construction projects for your client. This office has been more than difficult but that is not all FPL.

I can say that Dairon Acosta, Leonardo Rojas, and Robert Callori have been awesome to deal with on similar projects. All are very responsive, knowledgeable and great to work with.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] new service

I have been so disappointed with the lack of answers and no accountability for the most atrocious handling of my request for new service. I am building a home in Palm Beach Gardens and have been dealing with a very nice gentleman with FPL called Michael Baldwin (Associate Engineer/ Jupiter Service Center). Our subcontractors have been working off of generators to get work done while we wait. We don't know what or who we're waiting for at this time because no one wants to take responsibility for the poor handling of this account. I'm sure its embarrassing. I understand the magnitude and devastation the Hurricane created in Florida but for the last 6 weeks I have waited for someone to enter an invoice so I can pay then I FedEx the payment to the directed address, it is received and signed for from an FPL employee. I called a week later and they can't help me so they suggest I do it again and hope for a better result! Really! I spoke to a supervisor that told me Engineering would handle the payment they can't locate...then Engineering tells me Customer Service dept has to handle the payment. Then they tell me I was misinformed or probably the clerk didn't want to continue helping me out of laziness. Are you kidding me? I was told to expidite the process I could FEDEX a payment to FPL - PPC at 9250 W. Flagler Street #2420, Miami, Fl. 33174. Which we did...then they can't find to process. Just to be told to do it again? The FEDEX package was received and signed for on Tuesday Nov 14th at 4:00pm by SPRICE at the Miami office? We even asked if we should present ourselves personally and pay cash to expedite the process. And I was told, "no" just try sending it again and expecting them to process the payment. This doesn't even make any sense to anyone we've spoken to. What else are we suppose to do? Perhaps contacting the Director of FPL or our Senator to find out how they want our county to grow when they can't seem to assist homebuilders and new customers. We hope to get an answer shortly from someone that actually know what's going on and how to be TRUTHFUL and handle the situation as soon as possible. If we don't hear back in a reasonable time(although that time has come and passed), we would love go to live TV. Our News anchors at our local TV stations would love to report on this story If they heard how absurd the responses or lack of responsiveness we have gotten.
