Getaroom A booking made in my name to a hotel i do not use

i have discovered that there may have been a reservation made in my name

to Glasgow holiday inn express dated 21st/22nd May 2023

with a ref [protected] I do not use this hotel. this needs to be cancelled immediately..

Getaroom Cheated, robbed and scammed by getaroom website

We were looking for 2 nights in San Diego Holiday Inn and, similar to all the other guests, we searched on hotels. Google.com and when clicking on the ihg (Holiday Inn website) it got re-routed to get a room website in a very sneaky way (name is not displayed anywhere and also name hidden in the web link) they further mimic the actual hotel reservations web page to make you feel that you are still booking with the hotel

Further they lure you in with a low price & when you book it, they charge you exorbitant fees (up to 50% of the room rate) which they don't show at the time of booking, however shows up on your credit card charge

When we called them within 10 mins of making the booking, the customer service said you have made a non refundable and therefore we will cannot cancel it / no refund will be given, upon asking about what is the break-up of the fees charged, they denied explaining it and did not allow us to cancel it (even though per the agreement there was a possibly to cancel by a certain time)

We were scammed by get a room as well, they are worst than thieves, no moral or ethical practices. Companies which cheat their customers will not be in business for very long.

Desired outcome: We never used the hotel room as there was a conflict & complaint, However Get a Room is did not refund our money.

Getaroom Refund policy

In January 30, 2023 I made a reservation unknowingly with this website. I thought I was on the Hilton website. I also thought I was going to get a chance to review my reservation before booking. I hit the continue button thinking, I was going to get to review the reservation, but was immediately charged the full amount. When I realized the mistake I made, I immediately cancelled the reservation and called customer service. I was informed that I could not get my money back and I also could not get my reservation back. I am charged $900 for a cancellation.

I have read many reviews of people having similar experiences to mine. And they have had many complaints on the BBB…with a D rating. I don’t know why anyone would knowingly book a room through this website. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB, if I do not receive a refund. This is terrible business policy.

Getaroom Refund due for hotel booking with get a room - april 2022

I was charged multiple times for room booking with Get a Room
The hotel did not receive any money, so they approved the refund.
I am still waiting 9 months later

CN03085420 related to R333225 I may not have the rest of the number.
I received one refund but not the other, now every time I call the customer service number I get cut off.
I has a very good experience with agent discussing the case in November 2022, but I am still waiting to get the credit card refunded...
Please help...

Desired outcome: REFUND OF €154.33 OR £128.07 THAT IS DUE SINCE APRIL 2022.

Getaroom Was a major rip off--Doubled prices AND then when caught would not give money back

I booked hotel rooms in Sheridan, WY for March for Ramada Inn March 17-20. Thought I was on hotel website because prices were the same as family said they would be (this is for a family vacation meet up)--avg room price was advertised for $90. I didn't mind since it was same price but after I hit enter the invoice showed that I have different prices each night ranging from $162-200 plus. That's almost double. When I went to check, sure enough, I had been duped. Within 3 minutes, I canceled. But no refund. What? You can cancel a housing contract within 3 days. I would let them keep the money if it was good deal, but the same rooms booked 3 minutes later were $700 less on another site. Booking Confirmation # R3985554837

Desired outcome: Look, I want my money back with no drama. No harm, no foul. I am going to post this review to as many places as I can. I am a PR professor. This will make a great case for my students about company goodwill and ethics.

Getaroom Fraudulent and deceptive booking practices

Booked a room for December 10 and Wilmington, North Carolina… Thinking I was on the hotels website… After I pressed the last button, I realized I was booked for the wrong date… I immediately realized by mistake and booked another date and called to cancel, and was told I could not have a refund because of the terms of service… how about a little customer service!?… Spare me your apologies, and your kind words you stole my money!

Getaroom My elderly mother booked incorrect date and tried to get it amended but was told it was not possible even though they charged her card

Reservation R3964254889 was made by my elderly mother in error on 1/21 and 2 hours later when I noticed - I rang up to be told it was non-refundable after the 1/20 - how is that even possible but I understand that its non-refundable so I checked if could get away that night but work wouldn't let me off so agreed with my mother to go on 30th March instead - and then spent the best part of today trying to understand why after going though the "amend" channel to be told that not only is its non refundable but even though the policy doesn't state it - its also non-changeable?

There is nothing in the policy that was sent to say it is non-changeable - I have read it many times - I can see non-refundable for no-show, cancellations or early check out - I was told the non-changeable was in it but I cant see it as its company internal policy! I rang the hotel itself and seems they accept changes to reservations but I had to do it through Getaroom (even they said - Good luck with that - awful site!)

My mother paid almost $200 for a hotel and while I am willing to accept that its non-refundable - I cannot understand why it cannot be changed to an alternative date and how there is no way of escalation for this reservation

Desired outcome: I would like the reservation changed as requested to 30th March when I can take my mother to the hotel for a night.

Getaroom Hotel Booking

Beware of scam.

Booked a room in Amsterdam. On the original place it was claimed free cancalation untill two days before check in date. I paid. After recieving confirmation email, I've noticed 90eur boking fee was added. I've cancelled the booking believing its for free. When money did not come back after few days, i checked their email again. It said free cancalation was due only one day before my booking. Later, cancalation fee of my full payment applied.

Simply, scam like a hell.

Getaroom Get a Room Hotel reservation for Hyatt House Richmond Short Pump

On January 13 I booked a room by calling Hyatt and somehow got connected to Get a room.

Confirmation R3947000202

I was charged $332 for 1 night . Upon checkout of the hotel I was given my receipt for a total of $186.75

I called to request a refund of the difference and was told that they apologize and the best they could do is 15% of the charges.

This is very deceptive business practice when I clearly have my receipt emailed from hotel.

I DO NIT RECOMMEND using “Get a room” service ever.

Desired outcome: Full refund of the difference of $332.16 paid less 186.75 actual cost per reveipt

Getaroom Hotel Values

I booked a room for travel through business at the Hampton Inn Harrisburg from the hotel's own site. I booked for two nights for $242 and received confirmation. Then I get a notification that my total bill was $360 - including a $120 "service fee". What a crock - I wish I found this page BEFORE booking. Although I was fairly certain I was on the hotel's own site just to avoid scams like this. I actually didn't find out until I checked out of the hotel and requested my receipt. They told me I booked with an outside vendor. My business is not going to reimburse me the $120 fee so it will come out of my own pocket.

Desired outcome: Refund the ridiculous service fee charge of $120!

Getaroom Bogus hotel reservation. Refund refused.

Non-refundable hotel reservation that I did not make.

On Jan 8. 2023, I made a reservation on Hilton.com, but somehow GetARoom got my info and made a bogus reservation and a bogus charge to my American Express. On the phone their representative refused to refund the cancelled reservation.

After our Christmas Holiday being cancelled by Southwest Airlines debacle, I contacted Get A Room after being stranded at the airport for 8 hours and explained about the cancellation and requested my $736.92 (3 nights at The Strat) be returned since we never made it out of the airport. I wastold to send my proof of cancellation from SW and Flight which I did right away, but have not heard ANYTHING from them! R3833900912 - Case # [protected]. This has been the worst Holiday vacation experience thatnks to how terrible Get A Room has treated me by taking my money and not refunding it, eventhough we never arrived / used our suite! I have called several times to no avail! I see there are a lot of apologies for delayed responses and terrible experiences.

I want and deserve my money back and suggest that no one uses GET A ROOM ever again!

Getaroom Reservation R3933338285

Don’t be like me and fall for this scam. Basically gets room.com mimics hotel websites and pats to be on the top of google searches so if you are not paying attention you end up booking through them and then they charge you large fees that they do not disclose prior to purchase. Of course they hide behind small print and legalese and although they will allow you to cancel they will not refund you. I called them to cancel and they just put me back n hold forever. I would advise people to do chargebacks for the fees on their credit cards but not the rooms as they will state you either made it to the reservation or no showed. They are preying on people who are not paying attention and know that what they are doing is just a legal scam.

I’m going to report to the FTC they actually have power and the current administration does care about consumers. I advise others to do the same.

Getaroom Guest charges

My name is Catherine Turyamureeba and I am writing to you from the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain in Burlington Vermont. I have been trying to reach someone to help me with a guest concern. We are looking to get a VCC for a guest that was directly charged at hotel.

Getaroom Hotel booking

I've made a reservation to book a hotel in lisbon, the hotel site I use to book to book looked similar to the official site for this reason I made the reservation without being worried.

Due to a private problem I had the need to either cancel or update the existing reservation (r3893778289). I've talked with the hotel reservation and too my surprise the reservation was not made directly with the hotel and therefore they could only help with a request from the partner.

I've call this provider multiple times over an internation line and either the connection dropped or I was assigne with people who spoke barely english who were not motivated to help and at each different call gave me a different justification.

After 4-5 attempts I was pickup by someone who actually spoke english who said that they would be happy to help but they coudn't update or cancel or refund me due to hotel policies.

I've mention to this fellow that I was in the reception, had the hotel specialist in front of me and that he was happy to help either way but that he needed an email from the company with a request.

They refused to help even when i've said that I would be happy to pay what ever price difference between the reservations.

My reservation was set with impossible conditions from the start, before booking the conditions coudn't be meat.

Don't by from this people they are not serious, they want cover your back if you need any help.

Desired outcome: Move the reservation to a different data or get a refund.

Getaroom hotel reservation

I was trying to book a La Quinta in Grand Prairie TX today and an ad popped up on my smartphone. I thought it was from the hotel itself. $67 + $4 taxes, which was cheaper than booking.com. When I paid for the room by credit card, total jumped to $111. I called to complain and it turned out not to be the hotel company but getaroom.com. They would only cancel the room but keep the money as it was non-refundable. Tacked on $40+ for various fees. The call center person said the total had been cited. I did not see it when I confirmed reservation. Perhaps I needed to scroll down further. In any case, I could have gotten it at least $21 cheaper by a reputable site.

Getaroom very unclear/strict cancellation policy - NO HUMAN FACTOR INVOLVED

we are traveling with friends and i booked a hotel reservation for my husband and i not knowing that our friends booked a room for us when they booked their room. i literally cancelled my reservation less than 11 minutes after it was booked and they charged me at $1352 USD cancellation fee!

i understand that because it is for over the holiday season that there are probably cases where people make reservations and then cancel at the last minute which causes the hotel to lose money. BUT SERIOUSLY? I SUBMITTED THE CANCELLATION 11 MINUTES AFTER THE BOOKING WAS MADE!

when i attempted to work with them for a full refund, there was absolutely no human factor involved. they stated that this is the policy, no exceptions.

CAN WE HAVE SOME CASE BY CASE UNDERSTANDING HERE?

Getaroom The refund I was originally promised in the amount of $258.00

If I could give zero stars I would! This site is a SCAM! The hotel I stayed at was not as advertised. When I called the booking site to complain they called the hotels front desk and spoke to Natalia. Natalia said if my husband and I wanted to checkout early they would issue a refund for the night we did not stay. Fast forward 10 days and they’re denying that they promised a refund and said the booking is non refundable but refunded me $84. Which I do not accept! They’re saying that was the resort fee but the resort fee was well over $200. When I called the hotel to inquire about the refund they say they could only give me $99 back. The amount keeps getting less and less but never anywhere near the $258 I spent on the room. I have Mary, a representative from getaroom.com. confirming that it is stated in the notes that Natalia promised a refund for the night not stayed at the hotel. Seems pretty cut and dry if you ask me but they refuse to refund me what they promised. This company is a bunch of lying scammers and I wish I looked into them before booking through them. I will be complaining to the better business bureau and any social media platform I can.

Getaroom Hotel reservation

I made a reservation online on 8/26/22 for a trip to Texas on 10/5/22. I cancelled the reservation the next day, because I found another hotel that

was a lot less expensive, but this company would not give me a refund. They claimed that their reservations were non-refundable, even though it was almost 2 months away.

I tried to dispute through my Visa, and my Visa credited me, but the company would not cooperate with Visa, so they charged me again. The charge was $1164.24. Such a waste of money.
