Unacceptable charges
Deliberately missleading pricing with a whopping 40% extra charged on top of the quoted price gmfoe a room at the Hilton Hotel in Dublin.
The website is set up to show one price and only upon payment is there any mention of a huge service charge €78 on a €200 fee.
Utterly dishonest business.

I booked a room through the Hilton website, but it happened to be with this company. I booked a room in Milwaukee for $700 for two nights. There is no review page before my purchase went through and then when I got the confirmation email it was only for one night and still charge me $700. I've been fighting this for months and still have not got my money back and I probably won't. Do not trust this company. They have fine print that allows them to scam you.
Update: this company has reached out to me via email twice in an attempt to smooth this out but has never called me (as promised and I even set aside time during my work day to speak with them) and has never offered my money back or anything to even remotely rectify the situation. This entirely proves that this company will comment on bad reviews to save face but will not actually do anything to solve the problem. Again DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.

I made the reservation Tivoli hotel on 06/27/2023 for check in day on 09/23/2023, it costs 448.01$. Then I made cancellation on 06/28/2023 to book another room bigger than that. But I didn’t receive any refund from Gateroom. The cancellation policy is if I canceled before 09/09/2023, I’ll get a full refund because it’s not non refundable. But they tried to scam me, didn’t want to refund. I already called the hotel directly and Gateroom is third party, and the hotel can’t solve this problem although they knew my room was already cancelled.

Scam booking
Thought I was booking through the hotel’s website and ended up paying more than the price announced first. They added extra fees after confirmation that did not show before inserting the credit card number. Cancelling the reservation was with the same amount of booking. I preferred to cancel it as I made a mistake in dates and there was no difference modifying or cancelling. Never will I book through them again. As a tour Director, I have to book fast for work purposes and was not expecting to find a recommended site on Google to be such a big scam.

Overcharging and inability to cancel a booking
On the 10 August 2023 I made booking which was promoted as R2800.00 per night with booking ref [protected] and confirmation number [protected].When the booking was finalised, my card was overcharged with R4583.91. The confirmation e mail that was sent had a link and contact details for cancelling which were not functional. I tried calling and emailing in order to cancel the booking without success.

Called several times to ask where my refund was, only to be told, " there is no refund" I am absolutely furious! I paid €7.458,19 for NOTHING! I got official letter from the hotel, the letter clearly confirmed that the booking number R4383810761 with Getaroom has been cancelled on 9 August 2023 and the hotel has never charged anything. Although the hotel said I can claim the refund, and I showed the evidence to Getaroom.com., this company still refused to refund. Getaroom.com. is an absolute scam!

Hotel booking
The website offered hotel stay and parking package when I booked and had payed I noticed it had charged regular room rates for the entire vacation stay. I only wanted one night and remainder parking. They do not offer a refund policy even for same day cancellation. This is a very poor practice at best. In my mind it’s [censored] and I was robbed scammed cheated. Nothing was done in good faith. I am disputing this with my bank and hoping to get my $930 refunded. All I was asking was for the reservation be modified to what I initially wanted.

Thought I was booking through the hotel website, where the website clearly said, 100% refund on cancelations. I canceled 2 weeks ahead of time. Called to find out where my refund is since it has been over a month. Called the hotel only to be told I booked through a third party. They gave me Pricelines number. Priceline gave me Agodas number. Agoda gave me Getaroom.com. Mind you, this took 2 hours on the phone. I was told today, my 265.00 is there's to keep. No refund! I am furious! Kept my money with no services provided.

Deceptive practices
On August 3, 2023, I booked a room at a The Beeman Hotel in Dallas, TX. The reservation was made online on what fully appeared to be the hotel's direct website. It was not until August 11, when I called the hotel to modify the reservation, that we became aware that the reservation was not made through the hotel. It was made to a third party; a third party to which we did not have a name. We had no idea who took our money. Upon learning this, I called the number listed on the email confirmation and after much prying and back & forth with the representative was I able to learn that "Getaroom.com" was behind the deceptive and quite frankly fraudulent booking practices. After over 15 mins of discussion, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After holding for another 18 minutes I was ultimately disconnected. I called again and was put on hold with no greeting or acknowledgment that the call had been picked up. I called a third time and was told that I was unable to be connected to a supervisor at that time because she was busy with an influx of calls - not surprised at all! I ultimately canceled the reservation with penalty (no refund) and requested the matter be escalated and hopefully get a refund.
After taking a closer look at the website used to book the reservation it became evident that Getaroom.com hides behind the name of "Guest Reservations" where the URL reads www.guestreservations.com/[name of hotel] which under any reasonable standard could not be called anything less than deceptive.
Having essentially been deceived and tricked into booking with a third party, I am requesting a full credit if $541.64 paid for reservation #R4372122047. I will continue to reach out to corporate, file formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and anyone else that will listen until I am heard and reimbursed.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Booked a room through what I thought was the hotel turns out it was this site and it was booked before I was even ready. So I immediately canceled the booking. 2 minutes later. I saw that it was non-refundable however since when is that with in 2 minutes. I called right away they said they would submit a refund request due to accidental booking to some hotel company(I don’t think there is anyone). Surprise came back that they wouldn’t refund the $700+. So I said then just leave the reservation and we will stay there. Nope once it is cancelled can’t reinstate it. Can’t give a credit for me to rebook, can’t give a refund nothing. I called talke to two people one being a supervisor Shari. She just kept repeating the same thing over and over. I asked to talk to whoever denied the request for refund. They would give me a number or name of a company nothing. So someone just got $700 for doing nothing. For me making a mistake. This was money I had saved for a long time for my trip and now I don’t think I can even go. I’m just sick about this. This company should be shut down.

Abusive no-refund policy
I booked a room early june for 27th june.
First issue I didn't receive my booking confirmation because they are not even able the record correctly my email.
Second call and the confirmation finally received.
The 27th door closed in front of the hotel, check in before 3pm and not 9pm like written on the email. No access, no possibility to join the hotel by phone or email (actually made it but no answer).
Next day, I did have to sleep somewhere else the hotel I have actually been charged for, the hotel said that they send the information for my check in at 14:40 on Booking before my arrival.
On my return the 29th I called Getaroom, explaining the situation, once again I should have received an email with the ticket enabling me to provide all proofs that I've been there and try to contact the hotel without success.
I waited 5-7 business day like they asked.
Off course, no news passed this delay.
New call on 10th july, they get the denial of the hotel for the refund on 2th july (without giving me this information) because of no-show. Indeed the hotel did give all information, but Getaroom failed to forward it.
Desired outcome: Complete and unconditional refund.

Undisclosed exorbitant fees
Thought I was on a Hyatt website to book a room. Shown a price of $97 when I gave my credit card I was charged $166 non refundable! No fees were ever disclosed. Canceled immediately. Said non refundable. Will dispute. Called asked to speak to a supervisor. After being on hold forever the line beeped then hung up! Went to their website and searched same hotel same date and got a price with disclosed taxes and fees of only $24 not $69. Will further report this crime!

Charges
I booked a room for myself and my family. However whenever I arrived at the hotel I was told that I had no reservation. I had to pay for the room twice and getaroom charged more than what the hotel did. I have called multiple times and spoke to multiple people however they have given me the run around and still haven't returned it days later. Also they will not make a supervisor available to help you.
Desired outcome: Would like full refund and perhaps a complimentary night to actually enjoy myself and not be on the phone on hold all day.
Total lack of service, help or understanding
On Sunday 17th of June I made a reservation for the Kings Inn Hotel in San Diego.
For my family I needed a 2 night stay from July 20th until the 22nd. One second after I made the reservation I noticed I had made a mistake; in stead of July the reservation was valid for June 20-22nd.
Because we are not even in The States at that time I called the reservation desk immeditely to tell about the mistake I had made and the only thing I needed was to put the reservation one month later.
They adviced me to cancel the booking immediately and they would contact the hotel to try to take care of this in a satisfying way.
Well, what a surprise, I haven't heard anything from getaroom.com since then. When I call them they say The Hotel is not responding, when I call the Hotel they say they haven't received any message or call from getaroom.com.
In the meantime they charged my creditcard already for over 400 euros.
Really, this kind of companies should be banned from the travel industry. Yes, it was a stupid mistake, one that i tried to resolve after ONE minute after the booking.
My advise: Stay away from this company to avoid health problems and dissapointment about mankind in general.

Red tide no refund
We book a weekend getaway to Boca Grande Hotel on Gasparilla Island Florida. When we arrived We could not breathe. The red tide odors were unbearable. I have a respiratory issue and this would have been devastating for me to remain on the island. This was Booked thru bookings.com but they sorted it out to Getaroom.com. The hotel were good as we cancelled the reservation and they agreed that many people had cancelled. They told us they refunded booking.com but we had to call the next day for them to confirm. Booking.com is impossible to get in touch but we spoke with Get a room and they didn't care if the hotel conditions were unacceptable. This reservation needed to be cancelled 7 days in advance. How would one know 7 days in advance that the winds would bring in unacceptable breathing conditions. Our credit card made attempts to help us and advised us that these companies (Booking.com & getaroom.com) are the worse and you cannot get any refund from them. Now we have to get an attorney to get our refund which is terrible! Absolutely disgusting to treat people this way.

Government travel - wildland firefighter
I booked a reservation through Holiday Inn Express for my work travel as a wildland firefighter. My reservation was for Live Oak, Florida on May 24 and the reservation confirmation shows up later as a third-party company charge on my cc in the amount of $5115.82 and a fee of $15.99. My stay was for 11 nights at a Holiday Inn Express. Upon check-in, there was no reservation for me. As a government employee, I am only allowed government-rate lodging. The Holiday Inn Express managed to find me a room, but I was not allowed Government Rate. I checked out of Holiday Inn Express on June 3 and the total cost $1520.00 which was over the government rate. After returning home on June 4th I found my cc charged by CCI Hotels $5115.82 plus #15.99 and my actual Holiday Inn Express charge from May 24 - June 3 for $1520. I tried contacting CCI and was told no refund is allowed. My credit card company dispute case is asking me to try and resolve this myself through CCI Hotels. Dead End!
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of the charges of $5115.82 plus 15.99 put back on my credit card.This company or (a third-party company) should be closed down for Fraud! And many scam complaints were filed to support the closer.
