Getaroom Fees

I googled Super 8 Hotel in Brinkley, AR to make a reservation. The website I clicked on appeared to be the hotel's direct website (https://super8brinkley.guestreservations.com/). The room fee showed $67. We proceeded to book the room and the total came out to $98.70. Once we realized the mistake and that we could book directly through the hotel for a total with fees and taxes for $69.40, we tried to call and get a refund (within 10 minutes of making the reservation). This company refused to cancel the reservation and refund our money explaining that the additional $30 was for cleaning fees, etc. This is absurd as we could book directly through the hotel for the lesser price including the cleaning fees. Their website and the website name is very misleading making the customer think they are booking directly through the hotel.

Desired outcome: Refund full amount so we can book for the cheaper price or refund the difference.

Getaroom Hotel room

My name is Emanuel Aldaya I booked a room in hard rock casino punta cana November 14-16 . I get there and the booking never came in . So I booked with the hotel . The hotel said they would refund me once the booking came in from getaroom.com. It never came in . I was charged almost 1300 dollars in which I never got back. Also was charged by the hotel

Getaroom Room at Ramada Inn Albuqueque 11/20/22

We called your company to book a room on Sunday, Nov. 20, our flight was cancelled. It was Sunday night at about 7:30pm - I asked to be booked at the Sheraton because I knew they had a shuttle service.

I told your agent I needed a hotel with a shuttle - he told us he had a room at the Ramada Inn, I asked it if had a shuttle service, he assured me the Ramada Inn had a shuttle service.

After agreeing to you cancellation policy, and booking the room, I called the Ramada Inn to arrange pickup at the airport - they advised me the shuttle only runs from 7am to 5pm - your agent lied to me. Not only could we not get a ride that night to the hotel, they did not have a shuttle available to get us back to the airport in the morning to catch our 7am flight.

We had to find a hotel on our own, we obviously could not trust your people to find us one, that would accommodate our needs.

We want a refund for the hotel you booked in the amount of US$124.36. We will file a dispute with our credit card company if you do not refund our money.

Getaroom refund

My husband made a reservation and made a mistake in 5 minutes of having made the reservation called direct Holiday Inn of Miami Bayside to cancel and it is funny because they told him that to cancel it he had to have called 48 hours before, as if he had just made the reservation anyway I wrote to the corporation and according to them they returned the money to getaroom, but these people are going to keep the money for them because they are applying the rule of cancelarion so the hotel return without any problem and getaroom they want to keep my money people very careful with these people if you make a mistake you will know that you have lost your money

Getaroom Refund

-booked a room with free cancellation in the Novotel Hotel West (which by the way, I was massively overcharged for)

-cancelled it on 20 November 10:37, was assured in my email that I would receive my money back

-hours later I have not received my money in my account , not able to call the hotline as I am in the UK

If I do not receive my money soon I will be contacting my bank

Getaroom No Refund SCAM

Like most people say if I could could give a negative review I would. GET A ROOM is a SCAM! Do NOT use it! I was looking a for a hotel and I was unaware I was booking through a third party site. I am not a fan of third party sites because I believe most of them are scams. Well my entire trip was canceled due to a hurricane. I was unable to travel because my flight was canceled and yes got a refund for that. So therefore my entire trip was canceled. I called my rental car and received a refund for that too. However reaching out to the hotel they claim they could NOT give me a refund because it was against their cancellation policy. I'm sorry, since when not being able to fly due to a hurricane was against company policy to cancel? That is absurd! So now I am out $230 because these people are more worried about keeping their money than someone not being able to make their trip. Such a scam! Just be aware next time you book anything it isn't from a 3rd party app/site.

Getaroom Overcharging on Hilton Room rate

I recently stayed at Hamptons Hilton in Bristol UK from 25-26 October. The hotel charge for the 69. When I booked, I thought I was booking directly with Hilton as I am a Hilton Honors member. It turns out I was transferred through to Getaroom which was not clear on the website. I was shocked to find out that GAR charged double what the room was worth. Not only was I shocked at the price I was charged on my credit card, I was unable to cancel as the booking was non-refundable. This is a total scam and buyers need to be aware of this trickery and ensure they are on the correct website.

Getaroom Get a room

GET ROOM IS A SCAM. BE AWARE!

I booked a room less than 24 hours ago for 3 weeks ahead. I originally thought I was booking straight on the hotels website but was rerouted to their website that tricked me. Once I submitted the payment it had a statement on the bottom there were no refunds.

Less than 24 hours after I booked I was notified the soccer tournament was canceled.

I called get a room and explained the situation and was told there are no refunds and I was being recorded. Also they would not let me speak to a supervisor.

It is unbelievable a company like this is allowed to continue to scam people online.

Getaroom Hidden charges

On Sunday November 6 at 10:00 p.m. my husband called the Holiday Inn 800 number. The call was routed to Get A Room without his knowledge. He booked a room with the Holiday Inn in Rapid City for two nights. He received the confirmation number and noticed an additional charge of $72.00. There was no alerts for the charges. We called back 22 minutes later for the free cancel and asked for a full refund on my husband credit card. The representative would not let me speak to a supervisor even though I heard him whispering in her ear.

We spoke to the Holiday Inn manager and he said "He gets complaints all the time from travelers about the charges from Get A Room." You are misleading people believing they are on the hotels web page and then you are manipulating the call to your web site and then charging the customer. I want you to credit my husband the $72.00 on his credit card by the end of this week November 11,2022 or I will file a complaint at the Better Business Bureau against you and I will post it on Social Media that you are scammers and travelers beware Get a room.

Getaroom Reservation scam

On Nov 1st I went to book at room at the Talking Stick Resort and went to their website to book a room. I put the dates on the website that I wanted to stay and a rate came up on the site of $732. I finished the reservation and my credit card was charged $2900. I immediately canceled my reservation and was only refunded $546. I called Talking Stick to inquire about getting my full refund and they told me it was book through Get a room. I called Get A Room and told them I did not get my full refund and they told me that their was a cancelation fee that was associated with the reservation. They also told me that their was a tax recovery fee as well. I told them that I was not told of any cancelation fee or that I was booking my reservation through them. I filed a complaint with Get A Room and received an email a couple of hours later that I would not be receiving refund. This is a very bad business practice and I recommend never doing business with them. I had to file a dispute with my credit card and still have not gotten my full refund yet. I also filed a complaint with the BBB.

Desired outcome: I would like to have my money refunded to my account.

Getaroom Undisclosed fees

Booked a 2 night stay at a very well known hotel in Sydney via GetARoom as they had the best advertised price online.

Processed my transaction and was emailed an invoice. At NO point during the transaction, was it disclosed to me that I would be charged an additional $166.97 in ‘fees & taxes’. And of course no one is available to dispute this with.

Desired outcome: I want a refund of the undisclosed $166.97 fee

Getaroom Cancellation policy for a hotel room & deceptive practice

On 11/3/2022, I booked a room for a hotel stay on 12/17/2022 at the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond, Va Innsbrook (4059 Cox Rd. Glen Allen Va. 23060) via your sight thinking I was booking through the Hilton hotel. The confirmation is #R3813629735. I shared with the gentleman the date of check is on12/17/22 and check out on 12/18/22, and I gave him the Group Discount Code#MGOM12.

I was told that there were only two rooms left and I needed to make my reservation. I'm thinking I was booking through a Hilton Hotel reservation line. The gentleman told me that this room was NO Cancellation, however, he never told me he was not with Hilton, that this was a third party company, and he never shared that you don't accept group discount codes. This would have been a RED FLAG for me at that point!

I contacted the person hosting the event (Mrs. Cynthia Montgomery) last night and she shared that this did not sound right. Mrs. Montgomery called this morning and asked me to contact Bobbi Archambault (Hilton hotel) [protected] and speak with her.

Ms Archambault shared that she did not have a reservation in my name and that this must have been a 3rd Party company. I feel I was deceived and that your practices are deceptive. I called this afternoon to speak with and agent/or supervisor to either cancel this room or at the very least be given the discount price - that I would have received through the Hilton hotel.

Our Group Reservation Code: MGOM12

King Bed - $116 a night

2 Queen Beds - $127 a night

I was told this was not possible. The gentleman I spoke with talked with his supervisor and the was told the best that they could do was to give me a 20% discount. This is not acceptable. The complaint number from that conversation is [protected].

I would like to resolve this matter by receiving the discount price offered by the Hilton Hotel. Also, your online site is deceptive and needs to state in clear writing GETAROOM as does Expedia, Booking.com, Hotel.com, Priceline, etc and other 3rd party sites, and upon connecting with a perspective client - your agent should identify themselves as for instance "This is Darren from GetARoom.com

I would like to resolve this matter today, if not, I will contact Consumer & Regulatory Affairs anf file a complaint.

Getaroom refund policy

[protected] My son was making me a reservation at a hotel as I was on the road to a family medical crisis. He was unaware he was routed to a 3rd party site. When I saw the additional 60+ dollar charge in my bank account I immediately called to cancel only to be told that it wasn't possible. it was less than 24 hours after making the reservation. I am aware that all the information is in fine print. But, the companies lack of grace and flexibility upsets me. It feels like an intentional way to scam money from unexpecting people. I will be writing as many complaints as possible this morning in hopes that someone else sees them and doesn't fall into the same trap.

Desired outcome: I would like my reservation cancelled with a full refund.

Getaroom Hotel reservation scam

I made a reservation on what looked like the website of the hotel I wished to stay at. I received a confirmation email from a different company - Hotel Values. My credit card was charged an additional $521.80 for "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees". On my departing receipt from the hotel, the $521.80 charge did not show up. I called Hotel Values on 10/30/22. I wanted to know (1) what the charges were for and (2) what tax entities the taxes were for. The customer service rep I spoke to would not answer my questions. She only told me that Hotel Values works with many hotels as a third-party business. She suggested that I email Getaroom.com (apparently a related business) and they will answer my questions. I called Getaroom.com customer service and the rep gave me the same run around as the Hotel Values rep and would not answer my questions. This morning I sent a very specific email to the address I was given - [protected]@getaroom.com. The email was immediately returned to me with the message that it could not be delivered. At this point, I do not seem to have any recourse to contact either Value Hotels or Getaroom.com to discuss getting my $521.80 refund. The Internet is loaded with hundreds of customer complaints about these two businesses and a class-action lawsuit was filed against them in 2020. I thought that my reservation was made through the hotel, but apparently it was "hijacked" by Hotel Values and Getaroom.com. By the way, the $521.80 charge was 49% of the actual hotel bill of $1,101.99. I believe these companies are a scam. My Value Hotel confirmation number is R3473975797.

Getaroom Invoice shows they took more money for tax

I booked a one night stay in Nantes with my 6 year old son. The price was good as soon as my credit card details were sent and charged the invoice said £46 extra for tax. I literally have never been charged any tax like this before. We are on our way to the hotel both very upset as the £46 was our spending money. How can companies do this to people. Why is it not illegal to take more money than was originally on the booking?

Getaroom Room only

If I could give no stars I would. I booked what I thought was a room on the holiday Inn website (It was Getaroom.com), priced at £150 only when I paid it showed £245! on confirmation, So I panicked and cancelled it as I didnt have that money to spend and it was far more than I had thought I was booking. Then the problems started as I see Non refundable!... I quickly emailed the company to explain what I had done (I couldn't call as its an american phone number, and im UK)

It has taken them 8 days to even respond to me, I have been told that I can not be refunded so im £250 out of pocket.. I then emailed back and asked can it at least be re instated as I dont want to be left with nothing!.. and well the response was they can not reinstate it! So im left with no room booked and £250 out of pocket..

AVOID COMPANY AS THEY SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY!

Getaroom Cancelei a reserva não recebi a devolução

Após ter feito a reserva verifiquei que colocaram uma taxa de 69€ extra valor do quarto e imediatamente cancelei a reserva, agora nem o banco nem o GET a ROOM me devolvem o dinheiro, nem consigo ligar para lá, diz que o telefone está desligado e do banco diz que fizeram o pagamento e tem de ser a GET a ROOM a devolver e já la vai 1 mes ! Sinto que fui burlada!

A reserva foi a 3 de Outubro.

já enviei vários mails e não respondem!

Getaroom Fraudulent booking

We used your service to secure a reservation for 2 queen beds, and when we arrived at the Hotel, we were told there were no rooms available. So we did not get what we were told. Pls refund the total amount immediately. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. Thanks, Marty Byrd

Traveler’s be aware…grannies just finished a road trip and this story needs to be heard~
We needed to reserve a room for Mesa, AZ. We reached out to booking.com by phone and they booked us into a property. Supposed to be a queen room with 2 beds for 3 adults for 2 nights. When we arrived, the hotel person told us they did not have a room, only 1 bed. She was very rude in her reply and we were left searching for a place to stay.

Never ever use these online booking agencies for a guaranteed room. When you request a refund, be prepared for a runaround. The last response was to say we were no show guest, so they would only honor 1 night refund. We did show up and the place was a run down motel 6 with some shady characters lingering all over.

Getaroom Refused to be given a room I paid for

I'm filing charges with the Attorney General in my state. You have been absolutely horrible to work with.

First, I went to Hilton.com to book this reservation only to find out your smarmy company had hijacked my reservation.

Second, I arrive at my destination only to find the girl at the front desk refused to give me a second room that I am paying for.

Third, you refuse to refund me for a room that the hotel won't give to me.

This is completely shady and unacceptable.

Getaroom Deceptive practice to double charge innocent people on international hotel reservations

In October 8, 2022, I was trying to make a hotel reservation booking on a local Malaysian Hotel. I ended up on HotelValues.com website which is the frontend for GetaRoom.Com website or partner, where it displayed the local hotel's property, rooms, and daily rates. I selected a room which was at MYR342 Malaysia Ringgit. I made a reservation for two rooms to check in on 28 October and check out on 30 October, with booking confirmation # R3758446297. After reservation was complete and payment was made, I noticed that the total amount charged to my credit card was $825.48. I checked the currency rates online and noticed that GetaRoom.Com has not only changed the currency from the local currency to US$, but also has increased the daily rate and overall costs by more than 200%. I used "manage booking" option on their website and requested cancelation and full refund of my reservations. GetaRoom.com canceled my reservation, however stated that no refund will be made.

I contacted their Customer Service desk many times and they kept giving me run around. I talked with Naseem, one of the customer service agents, where he told me to call the hotel directly and ask them to cancel and refund my reservation. I contacted the hotel; its reservation department informed me that my reservation shows active on their system, and it has been made via Agoda with them with booking reference # [protected], and I should contact Agoda to cancel and get the full refund. I contacted Agoda, the agent was not helpful and didn't want to speak with me, she finally told me that since GetaRoom.com has made the reservation with Agoda, I should be contacting GetaRoom.Com and ask for cancelation and full refund. I contacted GetaRoom.com at +[protected] and talked with another customer service agent named Precious. She told me that their partner does not allow for them to refund my money. When I asked her, who is the partner, she said the hotel. I mentioned to her that I have already talked with the hotel and the hotel has informed me that the reservation on their systems is active and is fully refundable. The reservation is made by Agoda and I have to call Agoda. I the called Agoda and Agoda repeated by saying that GetaRoom.Com has to cancel and refund the reservation. Ms. Precious after hearing this hung up the line on me.

Desired outcome: Full refund of my money and Agoda to drop all these third party corrupt and misleading partners
