My family booked a twin-bed room in "Capri By Fraser, Changi City / Singapore" under my name (reservation confirmation# R4905990369) through the Getaroom website which they thought they were booking directly with the hotel's website. The website embedded hotel names on the URL trying to deceive customers that they were booking with the hotel itself.
Besides, when we received the reservation confirmation letter, we found that the "Resort Fees" and the "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees," which totaled US$491.79, were not disclosed during booking and these amounts are way too high and unreasonable.
Our room prices for four nights are US$767.69, and the so-called "Resort Fees" and the "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees" combined are US$491.79. It's over half of the room prices! This is unacceptable!
Besides, when my family made the booking, it also listed "extra person fees". They booked a twin-bed room with 2 adults, why would they be charged with "extra person"?
We have also tried to book the same type of room through the hotel's official website, and it turns out the "Taxes and Fees" only totaled US$180.16, which is far lower than the amount booked via Getaroom.
