GoDaddy GoDaddy Review: Terrible Customer Service, Unfair Competition, and Felonies Organized in the USA

I used to have my domains and website assets with GoDaddy, but let me tell you, it was a nightmare! Their customer service is terrible, and they blocked our website, which had over a million readers, for no reason. We left them seven months ago and have been much happier with our new hosting provider. We used to pay $2000 a year to GoDaddy, but now we pay almost half that with our new provider.

Their prices are not as cheap as they make them out to be. You can get domains much cheaper with another provider, and you don't need to be in their domain club. They participate in unfair competition actions and felonies organized in the USA and block European companies during high sales times. In the last two years, they have lost millions of clients, including shareholders.

Their quality is also terrible. They offer all kinds of hosting and private servers, but they are all very old and not secured hardware. Recently, on May 4th, 2020, 28,000 sites hosted with GoDaddy got hacked! Their servers are not secured and not protected against Ddos attacks. Our website was down many times because of this when we hosted it with GoDaddy, and we had massive financial damages.

And let's not forget about their felony disclosure with "Nanci Nette, Name Management Group." They propose that you pay $60 to negotiate for a domain that is already taken, and they will never show who owns the domain of your client's brand. This "Nanci Nette, Name Management Group" is actually GoDaddy itself, and there is no such person as Nanci Nette. They own about 45,000 domains, and all of them are only with GoDaddy. The address they use belongs to luxury apartments for rent, and all letters, including legal services, are transferred to GoDaddy's address.

I strongly suggest you Google "Nanci Nette, Name Management Group" and see the thousands of lawsuits for "domain squatting." GoDaddy buys domains corresponding to brand names and wants to sell them to you for a high price. They never respond to complaints, and judges order the transfer of the domain to the company who filed the complaint. GoDaddy is a felony!

GoDaddy GoDaddy: A Company That Doesn't Keep Its Promises and Doesn't Care About Its Customers

I've been using GoDaddy for my accounting needs for the past 3 years and I recently decided to move all of my services over to them. I currently have 6 domains, a website, and my accounting all with GoDaddy. When the pandemic hit, I was struggling to keep my small business afloat and I decided to reach out to GoDaddy to see if they were offering any deferment options. To my surprise, they offered me a 50% discount on the amount due which was a huge relief for me.

However, the next morning when I went to pay my bill, I noticed that the discount was not applied. I immediately contacted GoDaddy and they informed me that the 50% promo was over and they could only offer me $5 off. I was extremely frustrated and upset as I had relied on that discount to help me during these tough times. I refused to pay until someone could explain to me why this was happening.

Unfortunately, I was met with no clear communication and it seemed like GoDaddy was making my problem worse. I eventually managed to scrape together the money to pay my bill, but it was too late. My website had been cancelled and they were asking for $60 to restore it. I had never been late on my payments and it had only been less than 3 weeks past due. GoDaddy completely broke their promise, made no effort to help, and caused me to lose my website that I had spent 2 weeks rebuilding. This could have very well cost me my business.

It's clear that GoDaddy doesn't care about their customers. They didn't keep their word and they wouldn't work with me over their mistake. The principle of the matter was much larger than the amount of money involved. It's disappointing to see a company that I had trusted and relied on for so long treat their customers in such a way. I would not recommend GoDaddy to anyone and I urge others to see for themselves how little they care about their customers.

GoDaddy GoDaddy's #OpenWeStand Pledge: Empty Words and Disrespect for Small Business Owners

As a small business owner, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to keep up with payments when clients haven't paid their bills. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon GoDaddy's pledge to small businesses, #OpenWeStand. It seemed like a beacon of hope in these trying times. However, my experience with GoDaddy has been anything but hopeful.

When I called to inquire about my options, I was met with a wall of resistance. My website was deleted, and my account was blocked without any explanation. Despite their claims of compassion and understanding, it was like pulling teeth to get any kind of grace from them. I was given a mere two weeks to come up with $3,000, and they still wouldn't tell me why my website was deleted.

I've been a loyal customer of GoDaddy for over two years, and I even have a secondary account with another provider for situations like this. But to be treated with such disrespect and disregard is simply unacceptable. It's hard to believe that a company that made a staggering $2.98 BILLION last year can't find it in their hearts to show a little compassion to struggling small business owners.

Their pledge to #OpenWeStand is nothing but empty words. I've received more compassion from a new vendor than I have from GoDaddy. It's no wonder that offshore corporations like GoDaddy are profiteering off the backs of hardworking small business owners. It's simply not right.

If you're a small business owner in Australia, I urge you to shop local. GoDaddy has lost touch with the human element of business. They've forgotten that behind every website is a person trying to make a living. It's time for them to step up and respond to their customers. They need a dedicated inbox for complaints, and they should be displaying it by law.

In conclusion, I'm yet another underwhelmed customer that GoDaddy doesn't deserve to profit from. I'll be filing a complaint with the ACCC tomorrow, and I hope that other small business owners will do the same. It's time for GoDaddy to live up to their pledge to #OpenWeStand and start treating their customers with the respect and compassion they deserve.

GoDaddy GoDaddy Review: Terrible Customer Service and Scam Tactics

I've been using GoDaddy since 2011 for both myself and my clients, but I have to say, their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. The representatives based in India are unhelpful and ineffective. They can't provide solutions and don't even seem to understand the problems. Whether I'm chatting with them or talking on the phone, I have to wait minutes before getting a response, and when I do, it's usually a standard reply that shows they're not experts in the field.

Recently, GoDaddy pulled a massive scam when they upgraded their hosting to cPanel. They forced all their customers on "old" hosting plans to move to the new cPanel, claiming that many applications, including the popular Wordpress, wouldn't work anymore because the hosting plan couldn't support newer PHP versions. This was obviously just an excuse to force users to buy a new service, even if they had already subscribed for a year or more to the old plan. They didn't offer refunds or discounts for the new plan, and they didn't inform customers before asking them to renew the old plan and facilitate migration. It's a bad trick, and it shows that they don't care about their customers; they just want money.

When I contacted customer service about the migration, they blamed their own engineers for not being able to do the upgrade needed for the old plans. They told me that they weren't authorized to do any migration, and that it was a service that had to be done by the customer. They did offer support, but it came with a cost that wasn't defined.

So I bought the new plan and migrated all my websites, but they didn't work properly. The support team kept apologizing, but they didn't offer any concrete help. As a result, my websites are now all offline, and I've suffered a huge loss in terms of SEO.

I urge you to quit GoDaddy as soon as possible. Their service is slow, poor, and expensive. They try to upsell you, but they don't care about their customers at all; they only care about their numbers. It's no surprise that there are thousands of angry GoDaddy customers worldwide. There are other providers out there that offer amazing customer service, with people who are always super helpful, fast, and kind. And they're even cheaper than GoDaddy. Trust me, GoDaddy sucks. It's the worst ever!

GoDaddy GoDaddy's Predatory Behavior: My Experience with Expired Domains and Invalid Payment Methods

I've been using GoDaddy for more than ten years now, and I have to say, I'm not too happy with the changes they've been making lately. It seems like they're becoming more and more predatory in their behavior. Just the other day, on November 4th, 2019, I got a notice that one of my domains had expired on October 31st because of an "invalid or expired credit card." This was a total surprise to me, because all my other domains were being auto-renewed just fine. Plus, I never got any notice about any issues with my payment method. When I checked my account, I saw that the Capital One card that had been leaked by GoDaddy and exposed me to fraud and theft was still there. But I also had three other payment methods (debit and credit cards), all of which were valid. That's why I provided multiple payment methods in the first place - so that if something goes wrong with one, the company can charge the next one. But that's not what GoDaddy did. Instead, they cancelled my domain and then offered to retrieve it from the "parked nameservers" for a whopping $80 fee. To me, that seems like extortion.

Apparently, GoDaddy realized that too, because when I called them the next day and threatened to report them if they didn't fix the situation, they immediately took care of it. But then, on November 10th, 2019, I got another email from GoDaddy about an expired product due to an "invalid or expired payment method." This time, though, they had no reason to claim that, because I had deleted all the other cards and left only my one very valid debit card on file. It seems like GoDaddy is just trying to inflict small damages on me with these small irregularities that their customer service agents can't seem to fix. The last agent even accidentally dropped the line, and the next one asked for the same information all over again. All this time spent on the phone with them is creating a debt from GoDaddy to me, and I fully intend to bill them for it. There are just too many red flags here that suggest this was a malicious action on their part. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. But if GoDaddy pays up and shows that they're willing to meet their damaged customers halfway, then they'll look good. If not, then they'll only be strengthening my hypothesis.

GoDaddy GoDaddy Scammed Me: Opted Me In to a Service I Didn't Want!

I've been using GoDaddy for a whopping 15 years now, and I have to say, I'm not happy with their recent business practices. I have 5 accounts with them, all under different limited company names, and I've registered over 200 domains with them. I even recommended GoDaddy to my friends over the years, but now I'm regretting it.

Let me tell you my story. For years, my domains have always renewed at around ?10-?15 per year. It's been like that since 2004. But suddenly, in April 2019, they charged me ?45.70 to renew! No warning, no explanation, they just took the money. I can't trust GoDaddy anymore, and I'm in the process of moving my 200 domains to their competitors.

Their business practice is disgusting, and I wasted a lot of my time (6 phone calls!) trying to figure out how they're getting away with scamming people by charging well over double the renewal cost. They added a "service" called "Ultimate Domain Protection and Security" (?26.38) without my consent. They claim they sent me an email to add this service, but I never received it. Even if they did, it wasn't clear enough. I have 200 domains, I don't think I would have missed it.

So let me make this clear: they opted me in to a service I didn't want. A service that would have added over ?5000 per year in charges! It makes my blood boil, and I'm so angry writing this. Luckily, I noticed this scam fairly early when looking at my bank statements, so I only lost out on around ?200. I guess I got off lightly considering. But of course, they're refusing to refund me any charges more than 28 days old. It doesn't matter to them that I DIDN'T PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Would a legit business just charge the customer for a service they didn't order?

And I'm not alone in this. The same thing happened to all 5 of my GoDaddy accounts since April 2019. This is clearly a money-making scheme for GoDaddy, likely created to cover their losses since their domain privacy service became void with GDPR.

GoDaddy is treading a very fine line here, no, in fact, they've crossed the line. I have no doubt that what they're doing is completely illegal, and sooner or later, it will catch up to them. I wish them every failure moving forward. My advice? Do not use GoDaddy for any reason.

GoDaddy GoDaddy Review: Unreliable Support and Extra Charges for Basic Features

I bought my domain and hosting with GoDaddy and at first, everything was cool. But then, I wanted to change my website's look and when I did, my main page went down. I called up GoDaddy and they said it was my theme's fault, but I've been using that theme for two years with no problems. I even contacted the author and they couldn't help me. But GoDaddy just kept saying it was my theme and changed it back to a default one. They couldn't tell me anything else and said my error log was empty. My website was down for two months and I had to start over.

Later on, my website stopped loading and GoDaddy said everything was fine on their end, but I couldn't access it from home or certain locations. Other users had the same issue and there were no solutions.

If you don't have problems like me, then GoDaddy is okay. But they charge you for everything. Other providers have SSL security and daily backups included in their pricing, but GoDaddy charged me extra for those things. It's not fair.

1) I have used Go Daddy for 6/7 years / My email has been working fine / I use them for my domain and also install windows 365. We are a small 2 person company

2) They sent me an email to advise I had to change my outlook profile to exchange from 365 - as it would not work after June 2023

3) Friday I followed the instructions correctly / It created 2 outlook profile's / but when I logged on it took 10 mins to load and It would not let me send emails or do anything

4) I tried everything uninstalling / reinstalling / switching on and off / logging in and out of office / outlook

5) I Tried the chat assistant - but it kept going nowhere

6) I rang Saturday (they record everything I believe) 1 1/2 hours They could not fix and blamed Microsoft 365 = and promised a call back - back it did not happen

7) I tried the chat bot again on Sunday - They went through and advised to uninstall reinstall reset profile - again I followed instructions - nothing worked after 3/4 attempts

8) I rand on Monday to the UK line again - after 30 mins they answered but stated they could not fix - only the US could fix as they did not have technical skills

9) I could not speak to a manager as they do not have them in the UK - eventually they put me through to a supervisor who said he would put me through to a technical person on productivity

10) they advised they could not fix and had no answer

11) I then tried to get through to the US - but after 30 mins waiting the line went dead

12) I rang again and the same thing happened

13) I tried the chat bot again - they advised that they did not support and that I could not fix it - they refused to give any refund and suggested I rest my entire operating system (with no good reason)

14) They said there were no mamangers / no escalation - so that was it

15) a supervisor came on the line and said the same

16) So the outlook mail will not work because of a change they asked me to make - they have no solution - they have no technical staff to fix this - and that's it

GoDaddy Building new website

Our new website project has taken way too long. It started in mid January. By the end of April, it was formatted perfectly and just needed a couple finishing touches. The beginning of May it was in ruins. No one knew what happened. All of the people I dealt with are gone and it almost appears that they took my design and the notes with them. It's like they have started all over. Deaf, dumb and blind. Talking to Customer Service is useless. They transferred me to the same design team and builders I was complaining about in a matter of minutes. I even emailed the "grievance officer" a month ago. It took a week to get a response. That was a waste of time too! I'm at my wits end. I'm very disappointed in their lack of concern in making a customer happy. I've always heard that the best advertisement, is word of mouth. Well, here it is. I have also responded to the surveys after each call. Today was the first time I gave them all zeros across the board with plenty of comments calling them out on it. I doubt that will make any difference either.

Desired outcome: I would either get it completed quickly and corrected or give me a refund. I'll start over with an independent builder that will focus completely on my new website.

GoDaddy Office products technical support for business

Good morning,

Earlier this year I swapped my microsoft package from microsoft direct to Go Daddy, after being persuaded by Go Daddy staff. Since then I have had significant problems. I have 4 devices which I log into for use of Office products, but I now experience the below problems:

no syncing with OneDrive

Not logging into the correct OneDrive so no files can be accessed

Word documents constantly have a warning that my account cannot be accessed

Office trying to use my old account

Excel not uploading or saving

Powerpoint not saving or playing videos which have been used for years before we changed to Go Daddy

All the above continue to have a significant detrimental impact on my business and credibility. I have called several times for 4 months about the issue yet never once has IT support been in contact, I only ever speak to customer services who promise to call back and resolve the issue. For a business as a self employed person this is simply not good enough and I am loosing money.

[protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: Please can you resolve my IT issues through Go Daddy or at least remove the products I have with you from every device so that I can purchase elsewhere.

GoDaddy Refund declined

I canceled a purchase within the 30-day refund window that GoDaddy advertises for purchasing one of their products, but after waiting just over a month for the refund to be posted to my credit card and nothing happening, I contacted GoDaddy's customer service. I was told that I failed to request a refund within 30 days, so the bottom line up front, GoDaddy just cheated me out of a refund. GoDaddy's customer service is one of the worst I have experienced in a long, long time.

Desired outcome: Would like my refund.

GoDaddy Fraud on a hosted website

The ILPDC is using a GoDaddy hosted website to commit fraud and take advantage of a 78-year-old political prisoner who has been imprisoned for over 47 years.

https://www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/

Mr. Peltier notified them a year ago that he did not want them representing them or collecting money in his name. They are involved in extremely public illegal behavior.

They were recently served with a cease and desist by Mr. Peltier's attorney. They still have two DONATE buttons on the website, along with the statement:

"The International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee (ILPDC) is the hub of communication between Leonard Peltier and his program coordinators, the general public, government officials, political and tribal leaders, the media, and his supporters worldwide. We are in daily contact with Leonard who is currently imprisoned at USP Coleman, Florida."

This statement is false. They are not in contact with Mr. Peltier. He is 78-years old with serious health conditions and they are using the website to legitimize their illegal activity and jeopardize efforts to gain his release.

Desired outcome: Removal from the website of any fraudulent statements, attempts to collect money on Mr. Peltier's behalf, and the removal of the sale of Mr. Peltier's intellectual property. They are in violation of the contract they had.

GoDaddy Took my website down without warning

I run a business using my website, but it's a passive website so I don't update it much, it's just there for my clients to look me up and read about the company etc. I don't check it much and recently logged in to make an alteration through GoDaddy, got this message: -

The deadline to update your domain has passed. Please update immediately.

To improve your service, we upgraded this account on 24 February 2023. It was necessary to update the DNS records of strattonregent.com by this date to keep your site live.

'To improve my service' they took my site down for over a month and sent an e-mail to my personal e-mail, which I don't check. This has impacted my business and I can't believe they have done this without any other warnings, absolutley disgraceful. No text, no e-mail to the business e-mail which they provide, nothing. Just a warning when I log in to find my business site has been down for over a month, costing me who knows how much in clients and confidence in my services.

I believe this is done to try and get me to switch to GoDaddy web hosting, where I have this free with my current provider. I'm afraid it will result in me removing my business from GoDaddy and reveiwing them everywhere I possibly can so others don't end up in the same situation. Appalling

Desired outcome: Some form of refund, compensation. I have just had my site taken down, which I am paying for, under the guise of improving my service. I have lost business from this and still cannot believe it.

GoDaddy Web builder + marketing

Have been a customer for 11+yrs with multiple domains. When Godaddy changed their web builder and marketing product, it took away capabilities to fix coding, the multiple issues and limited my internet exposure. Long story short, my contact from Godaddy’s head office offered a full refund for what I paid, as I have had no exposure and no sales for over a year. What was a good little thriving business was lost. It’s interesting to note that this contact, a Godaddy employee and his wife seem to have their own personal websites and ironically use Wordpress and not Godaddy’s own web builder. He continues to waste my time with a multitude of issues with refunding this amount and excuses for why he cannot get the refund in full to me. After much back and forth and promising the BBB he was working for me, the latest is that he is now TELLING me that he sending a cheque in US funds for what amounts to less than I paid in Canadian funds and what was promised. I cannot help what the exchange rate is to deposit this cheque and since Godaddy charged me in Canadian funds (not the credit card I paid with), there should be no reason for this shady business. I have all of the emails for your review, but your system here does not take pdf's

Desired outcome: Full refund of $780.65CDN as promised, or the USD amount i agreed to of $600.

I purchased the Domain Broker service for $69, agreeing to the terms of it as advertised as being an honest, fair and unbiased service meant to provide me with the best possible price. That didn't happen. I had set the budget at $50 as GoDaddy owns the domain. The broker contacted me with an "offer" of $500-$750. I said no thank you to that and then he...

GoDaddy Email migration 365

I was once upon a time a happy customer of Godaddy but their nuclear attack on my business email now has me wanting to start moving everything away as staff are in capable of sorting anything.
30/11/22 Godaddy Nuked my email services they are charging me for.

Over 18 hours trying to get it sorted I still do not have a stable email services before the 365 fiasco. I cannot use the Outlook programme does not work which means my CRM program cannot email out invoices and quotes. Godaddy expect me to use CRM to create PDF’s, save them, drag into an email, then look up customers email manually type it in and then send it!
It’s like cutting someone legs off then telling them to run a marathon.

I spoke to Microsoft who attempted to help but Godaddy did not reply to the email asking for help to get the problems sorted.
There seems to be an intent to prevent me moving to a provider who can provide me with a working 365 email.
Godaddy only provide support in the UK after 14.00 hours.

Desired outcome: I want my email pst files sent and my email accounts transferred asap as all confidence in email hosting has gone and want my account moved before March as I will not be paying Godaddy for non functional email.

I too am very frustrated by the GoDaddy shift to 365. It was supposedly in the works for some time, but when I paid in advance for 5 years of my domains, they didn't tell me. I'm between a rock and a hard place now, to lose money if I transfer my domains (no refunds), of be force to pay the new fees of about $30 for each domain per year for the minimum email service. I keep getting notices that my "products" are going to expire on 3/31/23, but these are products they invented after I paid my fair price for 5 years worth of my domains.

I feel that there must be a class action lawsuit coming up and I'm on the lookout for it so I can join. This is a ransomeware like attack on my existing domains. I'm really unhappy with GoDaddy now, after years of complete satisfaction. They claim it is to provide better security, but it has to be some kind of lucrative arrangement between GoDaddy and Microsoft. They obviously are making us pay.

GoDaddy Website

After many hours of trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist, and after wasting my time and GoDaddy's support team's time, I finally worked out (for myself, as even support had no clue) WHY there is NO LIVE CHAT BUTTON on your contact us page, despite it saying you have "24/7 live chat" available.

Turns out, if someone is using a VPN, all that info is there but the button is removed/hidden. What a ridiculous way to punish people who value their SECURITY online. VPNs provide users with higher privacy and security, and if you claim (as your support staff tried) that it's because "VPN IP addresses are not trusted", then why the hell do you allow LOGINS TO MY ACCOUNT and RENEWAL PAYMENTS via the very same VPN connection?!

The ONLY thing the VPN causes is your removal of the Live Chat button, making it extremely difficult for me to manage my account as I can't use the telephone to call your support lines.

Desired outcome: Reinstate the live chat button for customers using a VPN

GoDaddy I lost my data and company image due to server crash after buying backup plan

Hi there,

This is to inform you that I purchased a server from GoDaddy with a Backup plan.

It was showing on my panel all the backups it took regularly. On 7 Dec 2022 it suddenly stopped and I was not able to access it. Then I chat and make a call to GoDaddy support and they ask me to use the recovery console window to access my server. When I opened it, it showed me the Troubleshoot window. By doing that I was able to open the command prompt and tried to access my data but it was all blank. Then we tried to restore our server from the backup of GoDaddy but it was not working at all. We requested a lot to get our data from GoDaddy but they are saying the data is lost and you can create a new server now.

How easy for them to say the data is lost, my clients are asking me for their data and I am completely helpless to share with them. Now I have to pay a heavy cost for this big loss and my company image is at stake.

Regards,

Pankaj Yadav

The same exact thing happened to me, except instead of losing my site completely, it was rolled back to the site which was live in August 2022. And all of the backs that are available are of the August site. it doen't matter if I restore a backup from October, Nover, or December, they are all a copy of the August website.

All of the changes made between August and 07 December have been lost.

I'm fighting with GoDaddy now to find out where my Live site has disappeared to.

Anyone else had a similar problem on/around 07 December?

Then I called the hotline,to ask why? The girl was very nice, but gave me no answer why I was treated this way. But yet all calls are taped. I taped all mine too. Just wait. I'm learning how to upload at 56. Lol

God Bless Everyone! We all need his love/guidance right now. Be safe happy holidays!

GoDaddy Business email

'm having the same problem as well for three weeks and the problem is still unresolved...I suggest contacting the Federal Trade Commission & Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to hold Godaddy & Microsoft accountable. They're not being honest especially. This is a Sherman Antitrust Act Business Issue. This is the reason they're disrespecting their customers because of greed

Please see Email message sent to Godaddy and the so called fix to the problem that they've created and have the audacity to ask Godaddy Business Customers to contact Microsoft to help fix Godaddy's email rollout fiasco.

Godaddy:

I suggest you call Microsoft @ [protected], the number you provided, because they're not allowing me or other potentially Godaddy customers who have the same email transfer of data (Godaddy to Microsoft Office 365) issues/problems to respond to their prompts. This issue has been ongoing since, Saturday November 12, 2022 to access my business emails on the Godaddy platform.

I've also submitted a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission about this issue because I feel Godaddy has been hindering my business and are not being honest about the business contract I've signed with them. XXXXXX is now dealing with two companies for our email-Godaddy & Microsoft 365. We should not have disruption of our email service as paying customers.

Thanks

GoDaddy Transferring domain

I have made 3 separate phone calls over the course of 4 days to remove our domain from a specific tenant. The goal here is to move our domain to a paid subscription at Microsoft who is a partner of GoDaddy which is even more concerning. Wait times for each phone call exceeded 60 minutes. 3 times I was assured it would be removed yet it is still active so I cannot effectively transfer the domain. As a result, our company email is down and I keep getting told to wait another 24 hours. As soon as this is resolved, we will be seeking other partners and will be cancelling our GoDaddy account.

Desired outcome: Do what you say
