Cancellation of gym contract at gym company
To Whom it may Concern
This e-mail serves to inform you of our intend to cancel my son's Gym contract.
Could you please inform me as to what the agreed cancellation fee was as I could not find the amount nor the method of calculation in the contract wording.
Could you indicate where my son was informed as to what a "NCPA accepted reasonable early cancellation fee" is. Or please indicate what method or amount the NCPA recommended as a fair cancellation fee

Unfairly blacklisting
I have been having this issue when the consultant known as Shane Mpofu and his manager Lerato Mkhize from Doornfontein branch signed my contract without verifying the dates. I then realized that there was was something wrong with the way the contract was signed with wrong dated I then made them aware that we are 2020 but the contract has different dates e.g. 07/01/12 and the other date signed 07/01/19. I was not happy with the way my contract was handled. Spoke to the manager and nothing was done.. then the country was on lockdown I received calls in exchange with vuchures. I was promised that their will cancel the wrong contract and sign a correct contract agreement. But to my surprise my money was debited I then went to the bank I showed the false contract gym company. The bank managed to block gym company from taking money in my account.
I was informed that I was blackedlisted. This is unprofessional and its daylight robbery. Pls address this matter as I'm looking for legal ways to resolve this issue.

Good day my name is Lindokuhle Ayanda Cele with ID number [protected]. I rejoined Gym company (Arbour Crossing) on the day 03-Sept-2021. I joined to get a platinum membership and after all my details were taken I was made to sign a contract I didn't sign up for which is the black tag. I am highly disapointed by the customer service I got from Vinai Kumaran Naidoo who has been undermining my inteligence up to date by telling me I signed the wrong contract becuase of a system glitch. When he even gave me a copy of the contract he made me sign which clearly states something that we didn't agree on with him he was fully aware that I wanted a platinum membership and when I confronted him about it instead of apologizing for his mistake he just brushes me off by telling me to come in and further fix things with him on Monday of which that is my time that will be wasted again attending to something that should have been done by someone who knows what he/she is doing. Please may I get positive feedback as to the steps that will be taken in rectifying this mistake or else I will go back to my previous gym becuase of the unsatisfactory customer service from the gym company employee who was assisting me with signing up namely Vinai Kumaran Naidoo. I have attached my conversation with Vinai of him denying that he made a mistake.

Gym branch closed down without notification.
The branch I was contracted to has closed down and all contracts have apparently been relocated to a different branch. However, there has been no notification of this and the first I've heard of it has been when I phoned them to find out about "missed payment" notifications. The lady I spoke to said that all members of my branch had been notified, however this is not true as my friend that I gymed with was also not notified.

Last year 2020 I joined Gym Company Maponya.The reason why I joined I thought my sister will drop me there and pick me up after work, I was staying in Protea Glen which is far from Maponya and I then moved to Limpopo

Was passing by the mall at Randburg Mall where I got interested in their gym. Got this guy who showed me around then we filled the form, second stage was that I had to pass through his senior to confirm and finalize the application. He told me it won't be active till I do so. I told him I'll come the following day to finalize the application. I didn't come. Two months after I receive a call telling me that am owning 199, how? Cos I haven't even went to that gym since. I wrote to them, no one has got back to me. This Company is a fraudulent if that's how they do business.

I have been unfairly blacklisted on 2019 I guy told me to join the gym I told him I wasn't interested he asked for my details and told me his going to give me a free trial and I wish to continue with the gym than I am going start being a member and he said there will be no money taken out of my account unless I join, but I never showed up to that free trial because I wasn't interested, on 2020 I got a call saying that I owe the company money I told I didn't join anything so how came I am owing you guy money, she said okay then I will cancel it that, this year I got an SMS stating that I have been blacklisted and that an owe the gym r8 000, called to ask about this and the lady who I talked to told me that I have to pay this money because I join the gym mind you I have never set foot in that gym, I asked her to email me the contract of the membership to my email address but she failed to send me the proof. Good afternoon gym company. Since we had pandemic from last year for almost 5 months on level 5 my bank account was being deducted. As I terminated my contract on March I was told to pay for the current month which is R199 while you guys benefited R998 for 5 months and you were not rendering any service to me. If I owe R199 what is going to happen with my R998. I never claimed my money as level 5 the gym was not operating. The accountant advice me to live my account open for 5 months n come to gym for 5months to balance what is owed to me. I stay far I won't make it. I have been having an issue with cancellation of a gym contract with the gym company since the very first lockdown last year, the company did not give an option to freeze contract as i was unable to use services and decided to reverse debit orders due to above and now a few months later they called to advise me to settle an outstanding amount im arears of R2000. 00 plus which i dont agree to pay as i have since not used the services since the very first lockdown.
Including all the above they continue to double debit my account causing heavy banking services as i reverse debit orders.
All the above is a huge inconvenience therefore please advise how i can get this resolved.

I did not agree to any membership of the gym because I am unemployed(over 10 years), and I live in another town. I was at the MegaCity Mall for a job interview. The consultant only took my details on the basis that it will do me no harm to accept a special offer of two months free sessions, I can only activate the contract if I am hired at the mall.
I did not use those two months because I live in another town. I am surprised to have received a message informing me that my account is overdue. I am complaining first this misrepresentation by your consultant.

I have been a member of Gym Company for quite some time but there seems to be an inconsistency regarding account .
I have discovered that I'm being consecutively debited two different amounts of R299 then later on the same day I'm again being debited R80 for whatever the reasons on the same day.
My question: Is this even allowed in South Africa?
Does anyone understands that each time you strike from someone's bank account, that person accumulates even more bank charges than they are supposed to?
Lastly, I need to state that this is even more unfortunate for me because that was not even using your services since I've discovered that I'm Asthmatic, therefore I actually do not see the reason for paying a gym fee that I'm not even using. (Check your branch logs).
Your response is highly expected prior taking the legal route.

I would like to lodge a complain against your gym company branch in whinchester Hill. I've been a member since 2019 I initially signed a 199 contract which I was being charged debited 300 for I inquired with one of your finance managers by the name of odert who told me earlier last year that the matter would be resolved. I was still being debited during the pendamic and I was told I will receive a free 3 month credit for those 3 month which I never received I then had to start moving my funds out of my initial account just so they won't debit I was then contacted my odet telling me my account was in the rears I then expressed my concerns and demanded they close my account as I was being robed she first agreed to it then in October 2020 she contacted me saying I need to come in the branch as I was upset I refused to. I then decided to let the debit order go off this month's. They first debited 199 fee then on the first of this month they debited another 50 as I went there today to gym and inquire I was told by reception my account was blocked due to outstanding payments. I don't know if that's how you do business but I find it very unprofessional and I think that's day light robbery please do address this matter as I'm looking for legal ways to resolve this

Gym company has been debiting r399 from my bank account for a membership I did not agree upon, my bank account is forever overwithdrawn because of the company and I always have to pay the bank for a failed debit order. In november 2020 I met a guy from gym company at westgate shopping centre roodepoort, this guy was recruiting people I then spoke to him and told him that I already go to planet fitness with my fiance but the problem is its too far and westgate is convinient for me but before I can join let me speak to my fiance first then ill send him a whatsapp message to process the application he then agreed and told me I will get a call from emily once he has submitted the application. I never got back to him, his name is terry. The premium was r99 monthly, in january gym company debited r399 from nowhere, I did not receive a copy of a so called contract, no call from the finance department lady called emily to confirm the debit but it just happened automatically, I got another debit again of r399, I called terry he then told me he no longer works for gym company coz its crap he knows nothing about the r399 and the application being processed. Please resolve this

I had called on jan 20th 2020 to ask about how much I owed so that I could cancel. II was told 773 I paid that and sent an email to no response. They purposefully ignored my email just so that they could charge me again for the following month and when I'm following up they say I must pay more before my contract is cancelled.
