Holsted Jewelers Misleading information

I received a card back in October telling me to call this number to receive two free rings. I would only have to pay shipping & handling. Well it is now December and have not gotten any rings. I had gotten about four card telling me that one of the rings was on back order. I called on 12/10 and was told that it was still on back order and that they were having trouble with my card. Well, I was told by a customer service person that the rings were going to be shipped separate and I would be billed for each one. Thats why my card did not go through. On the card they sent me it does not say that. I pointed this out to her but she said it was that way. It states on my card -All you pay is 6.99 shipping and handling plus applicable taxes. Nothing about each piece. I feel they are trying to get one over on me. I told her to send just one of them. Is this a scam or what?

Everyone should ask themselves, How could a Jewelry company give away rings, with free shipping and possibly stay in business? No one can give away rings and not charge shipping and stay in business long. Impossible.

ordered through harriet carter, received flyer with harriet carter order from holsted jewelers to receive 2 free rings, paying shipping only. two weeks after i had paid the shipping and received the rings, over $100 showing pending in my bank account. called customer service, and they informed me of details to keep receiving jewelry every 4-6 weeks with charges. i explained that i had not been told this when i called to receive my 2 free rings. representative kept arguing that they are required to explain this or cannot process order. very misleading company, had they explained the details, i would never have agreed to that and keep having money taken from my checking account!

Holsted Jewelers unauthorized credit card charges

I also supposedly won 2 rings -decided to pay for them -the shipping and handling of $6.99 each even though I am an elderly Social Security disabled person. Reason was because the 2 rings I picked out matched jewerly my Mother had left me and I thought it would really add to the set. Received rings -one at a time-they are beautiful. . But on the 24th of November I received an envelope with what I thought were ads but turned out to be a set of earrings Called company-was told rudely that since I had gotten rings then I automatically would receive other items every 4-6 weeks and would be charged! Never was told this -So $57.98 charged which overdrew my account! $25.00 charge which Holsted will not pay! Have sent back! Told to cancel since I didn't even know this! Told already had processed next shipment! All without my authorization. Lucky bank understood-had to cancell my card and now have to re establish myself with others. Just Beware of winning!

I have called repeatedly and told them not to send any more items to me and to discontinue the credit card charges. I have been told that no more items would be shipped and my account would not be charged only to find that 3 weeks later another shipment arrives. I was told that if I write on the envelope "return to sender", without opening the item that no shipping charges would be debited from my checking account. But every time they only credit back a certain amount so that I am charged the shipping of $6.99. I am so tired of this. Can't these people be stopped if there are so many complaints?

TOTAL CROOKS. THEY JUST KEEP ON SENDING JUNK JEWELRY TO ELDERLY CONFUSED WOMAN WHO CAN'T GET BACK TO POST OFFICE TO RETURN THEIR CRAP. CALLED HOLSTED JEWELERS TODAY (HAD TO LOOK NUMBER UP ONLINE{BTW IT'S [protected]} SINCE IT IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND ON PAPERWORK THEY SEND YOU) TO CANCEL THEIR AUTOMATIC PROGRAM. NOW I'M GOING TO HAVE TO CHECK HER CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY RIPPED HER OFF.

Holsted Jewelers stole my money

I am in the same boat as all the other complaints, I ordered the rings got them and I told them I didn't want anything else. the next thing you know my bank account got billed for $113 I called them they said sorry canceled everything and credited the money back then about 4 days later they took the money out AGAIN I called them and they told me they couldn't stop the order, that as soon as I get the earrings to send them back and once they received them they would give me my money back . well I waited 1 week, then I got a postcard stating B.S. I called them and they said they had already been shipped but it would take 3-4 WEEKS to get to me! again B.S so after getting pissed they told me they would credit my account for $99 minus the shipping and handling. this place is a RIP OFF and I will be reporting them to the B.B.B

Holsted Jewelers Stay away from these crooks

I received a Happy Valentines Day card with an offer for free earrings. I called regarding the Genuine Diamond-Accent Braided Hoops. I didn't receive them yet. Unfortunately I gave them my debit card number and told them I didn't want anything else but the free earrings. I'm going to wait until I get them and then call the 800 number to cancel any further order that they will ship. I can't believe how long they keep you on the phone to see if you want to order anything else. I have my local BBB and my Attorney General's number handy in case anything happens. I also think that if they are going to play games like that, I will close all my bank accounts.

Holsted Jewelers SCAM, FRAUD, ILLEGAL DEBIT CARD CHARGES

My mother received card in the mail for her "birthday" from Holsted Jewelers, stating a "Please accept the free* ring(s) below with our compliments. It's a choice of gifts to say, WE APPRECIATE YOU! Plus: Receive a Free Surprise gift with each FREE* Ring! A Special Offer for our Paula Young customers."
Like almost everyone today, financially my 71 year old mother, and 80 year old father have to budget down to their last penny. My mom has cancer, and my 80 father has been forced to work, just to make ends meet.
The fact that Holsted Jewelers is stealing peoples' hard earned money, is a disgrace, and makes me sick. They found my mother's name, through Paula Young, a company who sells wigs. I purchase a wig for my mother, because the chemotherapy caused hair loss, as usual, and like all cancer patients, it is hard to accept at first. The fact that this Holsted Company, is praying on innocent people, and it by reading the complaints, mostly the elderly.
Everyone, even if you didn't actually want the gift, needs to send a complaint to the BBB, and shut these scam artists down!
Thank goodness, two weeks ago when my tried to call the 800 number, she was placed on hold for 30 minutes and then just hung up... She was going to surprise me with the ring, and I am so happy she wasn't able to speak to anyone that day! So, today I had some free time, and took the card and searched Holsted Jewelers, and every search result came back with complaints and warnings about the company...

Holsted Jewelers Unauthorized CC charges/Never Ordered from them

I noticed a charge on my bank statement for $56.98 on Jan. 10, 2012. The charge was listed as HOM*GARNET so I called my bank and was informed that the same amount had been charger for the 3 prior months as well. They gave me the number [protected] to call the billing company directly. I reached a CSR by the name of Sharonda #6709 who informed me that I was enrolled in multiple "programs" and gave me three cancellation numbers and informed me that I would recieve a refund in the amount of $170.94. Today is March 1, 2012 and I still have not recieve a refund :( I NEVER signed up with this company to purchase anything and definately DID NOT enroll in an auto ship program considering I have been unemployed since Oct. 2010. Thanks Holsted Jewelers for making this hard time even harder for my family and me.

Holsted Jewelers off over charging Debit card

I was sent a postcard stating that I had won 3 rings and all I had to pay for was $6.99 each ring for shipping and handling charges. Today I was trying to pay my phone bill and come to find out my bank account had insufficient funds. Holsted jewelers has taken out $57 twice and I have yet to receive anything. I have tried calling them and can not get a hold of anyone. I cancelled my debit card and now have to wait for the bank to dispute the charges...buyer beware...

I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH HOLSTED JEWELERS, AS MADMANDY. HOLSTED JEWELERS SENT ME A CARD STATING THAT THEY BECAUSE OF THEIR APPRECIATION OF ME THEY OFFERED ME TO ACCEPT ONE OR TWO RINGS WITH THEIR THANKS. THESE STACKABLE GEMSTONE BAND RINGS ARE FREE AND ALL YOU PAY IS SHIPPING AND HANDLING, PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES FOR EACH RING. I CALLED AND PLACED AN ORDER TWO FREE RINGS AND HAD TO PAY FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING WITH MY BANK DEBIT CARD. MY ACCOUNT WAS WITHDRAWN ON 1/24/12 OF $6.99 X 2. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE RINGS AS OF 2/16/12 THEREFORE I DECIDED TO TELEPHONE HOLSTED JEWELERS TO CHECK ON THE DELIVERY TIME. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RINGS WERE MAILED OUT AND SHOULD BE DELIVERED VERY SOON. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WAS TRYING TO SELL ME MATCHING EARRINGS AND I REFUSED THE MERCHANDISE AND ENDED THE CALL. ON THE NEXT DAY WHILE CHECKING MY BANK STATEMENT ONLINE I DISCOVERED TWO WITHDRAWALS OF $56.98. I WAS DEVASTATED BECAUSE I AM ON A STRICT BUDGET AND EXPECTED BILLS TO BE PAID WITH THE BALANCE IN MY ACCOUNT. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT THESE WITHDRAWALS WERE FOR. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE BANK AND THEY GAVE ME A TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR A COMPANY SHOWN AS HOM*EARRIN. I CALLED THIS COMPANY AND DISCOVERED IT WAS HOLSTED JEWELERY. I ASKED WHY THEY TOOK $113.96 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT. THE REPRESENTATIVE, MYLES, SAID THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS REQUIRE THEM TO SEND YOU MORE JEWELRY ITEMS FOR YOU TO TRY OUT, AS WELL, THIS ACTION WILL HAPPEN EVERY FEW WEEKS. YOU CAN RETURN THE JEWELRY AND YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE CREDITED ONCE THEY RECEIVE THE MERCHANDISE. I BECAME EXTREMELY UPSET AND TOLD HER THAT I WANTED MY ACCOUNT CREDITED IMMEDIATELY. SHE THEN SAID THEY WILL CREDIT MY ACCOUNT AFTER I RECEIVE AND THEN RETURN THE MERCHANDISE. MYLES THEN TRIED TO SELL ME ANOTHER JEWELRY ITEM AT WHICH TIME I BECAME IRATE AND TOLD HER THAT I WILL CONTACT MY ATTORNEY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE MY APPROVAL TO WITHDRAW FUNDS FROM MY ACCOUNT AND I DEMANDED THEY CREDIT MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY. SHE RELENTED SAYING THAT MY ACCOUNT SHOULD SHOW THE CREDIT WITHIN 3 TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS..
I TRULY HOPE THAT I SEE A CREDIT WITHIN 5 DAYS AND NO MORE OR I WILL HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM THE GOVERNMENT AND A LAW SUIT. I AM SO DISTRAUGHT BECAUSE THEIR ILLEGAL ACTION HAS PLACED MY ACCOUNT IN THE STATE OF INSUFFICIENT FUNDS. ALL WHO HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS ILLEGAL ACTION FROM HOLSTED JEWELRY SHOULD JOIN TOGETHER AND FILE A JOINT ACTION AGAINST THIS COMPANY ANYONE INTERESTED MAY EMAIL ME AT dena62145@gmail.com. LET'S STICK TOGETHER AND SHUT DOWN THESE MONSTEROUS THIEVES.

Holsted Jewelers scam

Holsted Jewelers has a free ring offer, that other companies give you because you are a prefered customer, so you think you are being "thankyed" for being so good a customer. When you order the ring you are told that you pay only shipping @$6.99. I was VERY careful not to accept any hidden programs and I listened for ANY language that sounded like I was ordering NOTHING but the "free gift". Like the 100's of other reports, the company sent the ring, and then sent a "preview" ear-ring set with an automatic bill on my visa for $40! They say I accepted the "terms" of the offer but how do you dispute that you did NOT get told?!? They are corrupt! I have to send back the ear-rings they said I ordered and in another month they will take off my "signing up"! What a bunch of theives.

I have been ordering from Holsted Jewelers for months now, I to received a card stating I was going to be receiving two free rings of my choice and I would have to pay for the shipping which was 6.98 per piece. The catch to this is you have to call the 800 # within 10 days to tell them you do not want any more pieces to be shipped. They do honor your requests and nothing then is billed to your charge card and you get to keep the two free rings. Its that simple. Make sure you call within that 10 day time frame to cancel the matching pieces that they want to send you. Good Luck

I am so sorry that you experienced something negative from this company, but I have been dealing with Holsted for several years and I have always had a good experience with them. I have received more than a dozen pieces of jewelry that I have given as gifts and kept for myself, all for as little as $6.99 apiece. The thing to do is that as soon as you receive the jewelry, you call and cancel all further orders. That's what I've been doing all these years and I've never had any problems. Once again, I am sorry for what you experienced.

I tried getting in touch with this company and it is a SCAM! This was fron FragranceNet.com. It offered a stack of three ringd, all I needed to do was pay shipping and handling. The lady asked me if I wanted the earrings to match them and I told her NO! She asked if I wanted the pendant to match it, I said NO! A few weeks later I get the earrings in the mail. By rights I should have kept them but I sent them back. They took the money out of my account. $56 plus shipping and handling. Didn't take them long to take my money. I don't know who is going to send me my money all of it, including shipping and handling. Only cost a dollar to mail it but they charged $6.50. Maybe other people can afford to have their money scammed from them, but I WANT MY MONEY! I had to cancel my card so I won't get scammed again.

Too bad these people don't put the same time and effort into making an honest living. Do want to make a few comments about a credit card offered by a TV Shopping Show. If you sign up for this card you have to buy something every month, or else pay them at least $1.00. If you don't pay them the dollar they can legally hit you for a late fee, most likely $25.00 or so, plus 20-29% interest on whatever they conjure up. When I saw that I was so disgusted I didn't bother to read the rest. It was laid out plain and simple. I went to pay their bill by phone, (again for an elderly friend who fell for this), and found their customer service number is not in service. What the ___###? I will send them a money order thru snail mail, as there is no way they are getting their conniving hands on my friend's bank account number until I can get that card cancelled. With a dollar a month plus late fees from thousands and thousands of customers they should prosper. However they are starting out looking like a mean sneaky scam and there is little reason to believe they are not just plain crooked or will ever change their ways. Just because something is legal, that doesn't make it right.

I got one of my credit cards a free gift for being such a good customer. Pretty much the same things everyone else who complains about them says. Being snared by their web offering a free ring for the cost of shipping and handling. Holsted Jewelers Stole money from my debit account-theft

I received a post card supposedly from Catalog Favorites, that as such a good customer-at Catalogs, they were offering me a free garnet ring--just pay 6.05 for shipping. I received the ring--but on 5-18-11 saw that Holsted had taken another 60.40 for a ring I had neither ordered nor wanted. I contacted Holsted and they told me I could get my money back after I had received then returned the ring to them. I want nothing to do with that bunch of thieves--all I want is my 60.40 and treble damages if applicable. Deb Orr-Flint, Mi. [protected]@comcast.net

This comment is for JazzyCat23. I too have received the postcard for 2 free rings. There is no statement, anywhere on the card that says a person is joining a jewelry club. I have looked on the front, middle, and back, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I must also remark about your comment that people are greedy. In this time and age, it is really a nice thing when a person is selected to receive something free. Our economy is so bad that we have to count even our pennies to maintain our livelihood. It saddens me tremendously that you are such a critic about someone wanting a free gift only to find that they are ripped off. If these companies will do as they promised and not try to scam people, then our world would be a better place to live in and just maybe our economy would not be in the state it is in now. If you think about it, use the example of: a coupon is sent in the mail from a new steak restaurant and it says if you come in to their restaurant you get a buy one meal and get the other free. When you finish your delicious steak and lobster meal, you pay with your credit card only to find out on your next monthly bill you are charged for both meals and for 2 bottles of fine champagne that you never drank. Would that not be illegal? Would you consider that greedy on your part for using the coupon? I think not. So when you get a postcard saying you are going to receive a free gift, is that greed?
To my heartache, I will not call Holsted Jewelers for my free gift after reading these complaints. Thank you for taking the time to warn me (or us) about this scam. I will now throw my postcard in the trash!

Holsted Jewelers jewelry sales

I was called and offered 2 rings for a low price from Holsted Jewelers as a free gift from Handyman Mag. I suffered thru a very LONG sales pitch of future offers, etc, etc, etc. I refused all, epecially the offer of them sending jewelry every month. I said no! What part of no dont they understand? I received the 2 rings, they were crap. I sent them back, requested a refund and a cancellation on any further contact, but jewelry kept on coming My husband emailed Handyman and they said they would take care of it but it may be several months. I called Handyman to get the number of Holsted customer service. I requested the call be monitored, and I restated my problem. Basically, if I said no in the original call, why was all this jewelry being sent in the first place? And now it will take months to cancel it all, so they will keep sending jewelry. They have my credit card #, so if I dont return the jewelry, which I never requested, they will still bill me. Now I know why there was no contact information on the Holsted fabulous offer. I am contacting my bank, my cc company, the BBB, and the President of Woodworking Mag company. This is blackmail and extortion. Kathy D

hi there

I also fell for the free gift what a fool I was but as soon as I hung up I found your website and the complaints . I immediately called american express where I have been a member since 89. I told them the details and as usual they told me not to worry. These vultures continue to prey on folk. thank goodness I used Am Ex and not my bank debit/credit card. I then called the company Holsted back and cancelled informing them that regardless of their attempts Am Ex would not be paying them. I guess I will have to wait and see what does or does not arrive in the mail. thank you american express and your site

Actually, I have had nothing but GOOD from Holsted. I used to get a delivery each month and if I liked it it kept it, if not, I returned it. Maybe they went downhill since bought by SusanB? But Holsted was always good to me, and when i cancelled, it was cancelled.

They hide there identity so you can't reach them to cancel your account. I found it!

There name is Holsted Jewlers but there name for the company phone number is Susan B. customer service. I hope this helps everyone. The phone number to cancel Holsted Jewelry account is [protected]. Call them they are nothing but scammers that will continue to send you items and over charge your account. Good luck everyone.

Have a wondeful day. :P)

I can see that this company Holsted which it seems has now changed it's name to "Susan B." jewelry (probably because of all the complaints) has caused people a lot of hurt, pain and money. I just wanted to Thank You guys for posting these complaints! I just received this "Free" gift offer in the mail today...with Newport News as their partner. I was simply checking out their online site when I noticed the Complaint Boards as the #3 site from the top of the search page. That usually means there are inordinate amounts of complaints regarding this company. Thanks to you guys, I summarily ripped up the card and contacted Newport News. I directed them to remove me from any further third party referral offers. Keep posting, whether you were scammed or not. That will push this Complaint Site to #1 instead of Holsted, aka Susan B.. now, and people will be duly warned not to get involved with these kinds of unscrupulous companies.

Holsted Jewelers Crappy Jewlery

I ordered 3 rings S&H only. Approved one transaction only, over the phone. I am a single mom who is permentaly disabled. What little income I have is to insure my boys will always have a home, food, etc. The one time I treat myself to a cheep peice of bling, they ran with it, ( My card info.) I have sent two items back; ring turnedmy finger green within a few hrs. For $50. no thanks .And a pair of earrings were assambeled backwards. I used their return and discontued forms fore weeks ago. Still nothing. The fact that I support my boys on very limited income is hard. But the two times they hit my card with out my knowledge has now cost me an extra $270. dollars. When my landlord went to collect rent it was 50 short. ot a bad tenent for 7 yrs and my situation he thought nothing of it. In November they did the same. Well I ended up having to go to court for a notice to quit 100. back rent $65. court costs $ 20. baby sitter so I could go and explain this to a judge whos heard it all before. The stress of worrie affected my bp and ended up on a higher mg. of meds too. How do you tell your children that there wont be a christmas this year because mommy has find a new place to live with no funds, oh that bridge there looks nice. Well because I am a good mom, and the judge had all my proff My boys will never have to no. Its not a childs job to worrie. Its my duty and desire to protect them from harm. So if anyone knows exactly who and where, I now have a bill for the parents of Holsted Jewelers. Not including the $98.89 that still is not on my card. They waisted no time taking it but not even a "we are sorry" note BAD business .

Holsted Jewelers jewelry fraud charges

I received a postcard from Newport News about 2 month ago that I could choose 2 rings without charge as a gift for being a loyal customer, only would need to pay S+H charges. I did receive the rings. About 10 days I received 2 pairs of earrings in white envelopes without a note or anything, which I DID NOT order. On 6/21/2010 my credit card was charged twice the amount of $ 46.98 without my consent, permission or agreements for any other further shipments. This company is fraudulent and should be made accountable for it. The company is “Holstedt Jewelers” . Newport News should be accountable as well as they sent a postcard for the free rings in the first place to a trusting customer.

Holsted Jeweler did the same thing to me only took money out of my bank account and now you can't even get ahold of them over the phone and do beleive they out to be going to court to be made to refund people their hard earned money. I am seriously considering doing this myself. I returned their crappy merchandise and have not received my money back.

Holsted Jewelers unwanted merchandise/charges

I accepted a "free" ring from these people for being a great customer of Newport News fashions. I had to pay the shipping which was no biggy but declined all other offers they made. They have now charged my ATM for some crap that I didn't order, didn't want and are giving me a hard time about refunding the money. I will file charges with my band in the morning as they are closed at this time. I will also report them to the BBB and cancel my account with Newport News as they are the ones who connected us in the first place. Hang up on these people - you'll accounts will never be safe if you don't!

I was offered the 2 rings with just shipping and handling but Sai I was not interested in the monthly club. I stressed this several times. Then about 3 weeks later I noticed a $66.00 charge. They said I signed up for the club I DID NOT. They said they would cancel but could not until I returned the order, which I have never received. I will be contacting the company again, since I am living in an independent living facility and my income is limited.

I changed my credit card account number as soon as I knew that I am enrolled in this program. I also sent them the form saying 'I do not wish to receive future items from this collection'. Some complaints were suggessting that even after sending that form they can send. I am not sure just changing my cc number changed will be helpful or not.

That is true that in first call the representative cannot cancel you out from the program. She said to me that after you receive the gift you can exit the program by calling or sending an attached form with the shipment. I think many people have not declined it after and it is our responsibility to pay attention and respond as required.
Even after declining, if they send then only it can be called a SCAM. Not yet a scam for me.

Thanks

Here's the deal. When you call for a free ring, you are going to be offered more stuff. There's no getting around it. The sales agent is required to present the offer. If you decline future shipments, you are not getting a free anything. EVEN IF YOU TELL THE SALES AGENT ON THE PHONE THAT YOU DON'T WANT ANY FUTURE SHIPMENTS THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. The sales agent has no control over stopping future shipments, and you won't get sent the free jewelry unless you agree to future shipments. SO GET THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER UP FRONT AND MAKE SURE YOU CALL TO DECLINE ALL FUTURE SHIPMENTS WITHIN TEN DAYS LIKE THE SALES PITCH SAYS. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO WHAT IS BEING SAID WHEN YOU MAKE THE CALL. Listening doesn't mean waiting for your turn to talk, or interrupting the person talking to you. It means hearing and absorbing the terms and conditions of the offer being made to you. I'm sad for those of you who think you were scammed, but it's your responsibility to pay attention and take action. You made your own mess.

Yesterday I received a card with a free offer for an Amethyst and a Topaz Ring. Nice looking rings, I must say.
In my case, 'Holsted Jewelers' are associated with 'Supermarket of Savings'. There is definitely no small print, that states anything about joining or paying a membership.
It gives me an 800 # to call and a Free Gift Code. On the bottom it states " all you pay is shipping and handling plus applicable taxes "
The Card is even personalized to me... really easy to trick you into believing legitimacy.
Thank you, to everyone who posted their complaint, it certainly stopped me from calling.
I hope with my posting, it will help to move up on the board of complaints.

I did the same. Requested the Sapphire and Garnet Rings *FREE* and only had to pay the S&H of $6.99 each. The rings aren't so nice anyway but I figured, "hey, only $6.99 each, what do I expect?". Anyway, it was a ONE TIME thing because I refused ALL other offers! WELL, now my card has been charged $56.98 TWICE for a pair of Sapphire Earrings and a pair of Garnet Earrings. I'm so frustrated ! ! ! I called my bank and told them not to allow these charges or any other charges EVER from this company! I'm very upset!

Holsted Jewelers will not cancel orders

I sent back some jewelry to this company a week ago, certified mail. In my letter, I asked them to cancel my account and quit charging my credit card, Discover. I've yet to receive the mail slip and they have not cancelled my orders.

In fact, they sent me another jewelry shipment today, Aug. 20. I want to register a complaint.

I'm now getting the over-the-limit fees, solely because of Holsted Jewelers!

I have not ordered the colored glass jewelry but they keep sending it! I guess they themselves know how ugly their staff is and that nobody is voluntary buying it.
They take money out of your account and don't give it back. Do not even order ones from them because you have to fight them later. That business is a business full of thieves and fraught.

I am having the same problem as the woman above. I sent back an order (that wasn't ordered) with the slip that stated I didn't want any future merchandise sent. Today I received two (2) new rings that Cooking Club of America had sent to me with the understanding that they were FREE if I paid the $6.99 postage. That is not what this invoice states. It states that I will be charged $39.99 EACH for these rings. Trying to contact first Holsted Jewelers and then Cooking Club of America has been one big runaround. I will have to pay a fee to Discover to stop payment on any future shipments and that doesn't guarantee being credited the $39.99 each/postage/handling currently being processed. I have forwarded all of my information to my attorney and have decided to let them take care of this.

I recieved a watch my husband bought for me from Holstead and it was missing a diamond, the wrong color, and also had a hinge in the back which was not shown in the picture on the site. I called your customer service number and spoke with Laura. She told me someone from UPS would pick up the watch within 7 business days. I waited, and left that watch on the front porch even in a rain storm, but noone came to get it. I called back... spoke with Laura again. She told me she'd contact the company for another ticket to pick up the watch. 4 days later, I contacted her again and she told me she wasnt able to get in touch with the manufacterer. I asked repeatedly to speak with a supervisor or manager because I didnt want to leave the watch outside. She told me no supervisors were on duty after 5pm. A couple days later we got a call saying a UPS guy would pick up the watch in 3-5 days. Noone showed again! I wrote to your "customer service" department and requested a call back. Someone should be going over and above to assist me at this point! Noone even wrote back in the 48 hour time frame it says it takes on the website. I called again... this time I spoke with Jeana. After I told her I wanted to talk to a supervisor she transferred me to Laura! I asked if Laura was a supervisor. "Yes" she claimed. Interesting, she must have been promoted in the past month. So I'm getting the same run around again... Laura will contact the manufacterer to pick up the item (in 7 days). You're company is such a scam. If they really cared to assist their customers they would have an easily accessible return slip inside the box that was shipped with the original item. I fully intend to tell everyone I know and don't know, on all the websites I can find, about my terrible experience with this company. As we speak, I still have the crappy watch that cost over $100... it's February and my birthday is coming up. This watch was ordered mid December for my christmas gift. I will NEVER buy from them again.

Holsted Jewelers Scam charges

Holsted Jewelers has been in business since 1971 and has served hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers. We would only bill a credit card given to us by a customer with an order. Our marketing efforts ask for a credit card to be entered, and our copy states that when the order ships, the credit card entered will be billed. When the jewelry item is sent, the accompanying customer service card clearly gives the customer instructions to cancel out of the program with absolutely no further obligation. I am sorry that your experience was a bad one- it sounds as if somebody got a hold of your credit card number. If you have any future issues, Holsted's customer service number is [protected].

I was also scammed, I got my 3 free rings and holstead started sending me packages of jewelry that was of poor quality and made in China. They were charging me 59.95 per package and 6:99 shipping, but billing my fingerhut account. They have billed me so much in the past 3 months that there is nothing left in my account. I refuse to use their return label and pay another 6.99 to return their crap, so the first time I put my jewelry in the little bag they sent it in and sent it in a regular envelope. It was less than 1.00 . I was never given refund of any kind. I will not let this beat me. I'm gonna take every legal outlet I can to make their life, and their business a living hell. As a customer of Paula Young Wigs I received a "gift" from them at Xmas time. It was the opportunity to purchase stackable birthstone rings for free, well just to pay the shipping and handling. As a preferred customer I purchased two and was only charged the shipping and handling of $6.98 each. I was given the opportunity to join Holsted's monthly club, but I cleared refused, stating I only wanted the special I was entitled to as a Paula's customer.
I received the rings and they were junk. A month later I had two charges on my card for their monthly club, which I had clearly refused. I of course, called right away and it has been days of calls and promises that my $114 will be released, should already have been released etc. I was given a phone number for their corporate office in New York, which went to an automatic recording.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I am soo sick and tired of dealing with you ppl! On January 16th, 2016 I received a Card in the mail stating I had won items just scratch off and see what I have won. I did and it said I had won 2 rings and a $25 Wal-Mart Gift Card PLUS... if I pay extra to a trial offer of their sales book or whatever they called it I'd receive ANOTHER $25 Wal-Mart Gift Card so I did. They immediately took the money from my account, exactly what I was required to pay and I received my 2 rings and 1 of my $25 Wal-Mart Gift Cards but it wasn't as easy as that.Through out the following months I continually had to call them and ask where my things were I paid for...ALWAYS got same answer...we're processing them should be ANOTHER 2-4 weeks...that time came and went...still NOTHING! At one point I had to have my Credit Card cancelled and get a new one because they were taking money out here and there. I have had to call them and fight them for what I PAID FOR and here it is 8 months later and even though I've gotten my 2 rings and 1 of my $25 Wal-Mart Gift Cards I'm STILL fighting this SCAM OF A COMPANY! At one point I was told I could call and talk with the main person over them..Mr.Murmur..lol...what a joke he is..I called left message..he NEVER returned my call...I've written him STILL NO HELP...All I want is what I PAID FOR..I'M SICK OF THIS RUN AROUND SCAM! I WANT my last $25 Wal-Mart Gift Card I PAID FOR! So now I'm going to talk with the Postmaster General and report them for fraud! I WILL HAVE the Federal Government notified of my problem with this company! I'VE HAD IT..ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Holsted Jewelers Fraudulent Charge

Received a cubic zirconia ring and earrings in the mail along with a letter stating that I have no obligation to buy anything now or in the future, but a new selection will be sent in about 5 to 7 weeks and I will be billed $39.99 plus S & H and taxes for each new piece I decide to keep and if not totally happy with anything, I could return it for a replacement or credit. I never even heard of this company. I immediately called my credit card company and they told me I already had two transactions for $5.99 each from Holsted Jewelers. They cancelled the card immediately. Am reading now that this is happening to so many people. Watch out!

I too, out of the blue have received two shipments (both) rings from. Holsted Jewelers and find myself disillusioned with with company. After googling them and finding this complaint board site... I called them and told them straight up that I DID NOT want anymore products from them.

I also told them that IF any additional charges other than the 6.99 each for these two rings show up on my credit card-I would NOT HESITATE TO HIRE A LAWYER. They assure me that as of today (8-29) that they have removed me from their list for any future shipments. The rings are ugly and poor quality...nothing that I would ever wear!

they best take me serious... As I mean business. I will NOT fool around with these scammers...they best NOT fool with my credit. Everyone who continues to have problems with them-we can all use our social media/word of mouth to spread the word that they're problems! Tell EVERYONE you know.
