I am complaining about the wrong information I was given regarding the contract
Good day
I had a closer look at my statement and noticed that my contract was for 36 months and that was not the agreement when I took the contract out, It was for 24 months so I called in to query this matter and spoke to a guy named Diaan, he told me that there is only a 36 month contract when it comes to the laptops and not 24, I explained that was not what was told to me the agent I spoke to said it was for 24 months or else I would not have taken the contract.
Diaan then said that there is nothing they can do cause I’m only querying this matter now, I told him that it had nothing to weather I looked at it only now cause I knew what the agreement was in the first place, I told him he must pull the call recordings and he said that it will take a long time I told him I will be taking this further cause I’m not going to pay this account for 36 months he said well there is nothing they can do, I then told him that I will pay for 24 months on the agreed contract and the agent that said it was for 24 can pay the rest, he did not want to give his full name and surname cause I told him I’m taking this matter further.
So all I want is the call recordings that was recorded in November 2016 for proof and I want the contract drawn up for 24 months, cause I’m really not going to pay over R15 000 for something that is worth just over R6000. If I was told that then, then I would not have taken it.
Kind regards
Geraldine
placing an order with a telephone and cancelling an order
On Satarday the 22 nd of July I received a phone call from the telephone number that starts with 68, I can't remember it because I erased it by mistake but it was a Lesotho telephone number. This person wa speaking Sesotho, my launguage though he was not mosotho. I learned from his accent. I placed an order of bedding. But during the week I find the message (SMS) that told me about horrible prizes, so I decided to cancel the order through the [protected]@homechoce.co.za.
The person who responded to me said there was no such an order that was made with homechoice. I replied back, requesting immediate help as I thought my contacts and personal information was hacked.
To my suprise today 08/July/2017, I have just received a message (SMS) telling me to fetch my parcel at the post office. According to the SMS, the parcel NO is CV023035039. I am afraid because I am aware that this might not be an authentic process. SMS number:+[protected] and +[protected], it was send at 08:00am
harassing phone calls from collections department
It is with great dismay that I am writing this again!
As per screenshots below, this is an issue that I thought was addressed, but alas, it is still very much a contentious matter.
I was promised that I will never receive harassing phone calls from Home Choice again, but in true form on 27 July, ‘Sinovuyo’ from the Collections Dept called to ask when I will be paying my account.
I asked why she is calling me yet my account is not in arrears? She then said that it is company policy. Why I am baffled is that if it is indeed policy – then why wasn’t I getting such phone calls before and why weren’t we warned to expect such calls? The patronising tone and manner in which these calls are conducted is appalling, you are made to feel like a criminal and you are left feeling small!
Can you hold off calling and harassing me till I maybe (God forbid) I default on payment then maybe such treatment will be warranted but as long as I am still paying on time and everything’s fine with my account, please stop hounding me!.
Dear homechoice
I was wondering when speaking with your sales person telling me that I am not qualified to place the order cause when I remember well I don't owe you anything

Good day,
The rudeness of your sales people or call center people is really becoming unbecoming. It is getting out of hand to be precise! I can not to be forced to purchase products that I don't need. This is becoming a norm, people calling my number and dropping the phone on my ear when I explain that I don't need to purchase anything.
Can I ask that my number be deleted in your database? You are going to lose customers with this kind of behaviour if you haven't lost them already.
I am totally disgruntled with the call that I just received.

Read full review of Homechoice and 11 commentshidden and misinterpretation of costs
Dear Sir/ madam
I'm here to submit my complain with Home choice South Africa.
On the 5th of June, I placed an order with Home choice of 3 blankets (Kiara size Queen)
and received the ordered goods via post on the 28th of June with the printed invoice attached.
Terms and conditions :
-That i will pay a monthly payment of R534.14.00 for six months
-and I'm not happy with the goods received, i should return back within 14 days
Grievance :
-After I made my first installments today 31 July 2017, i'm was emailed a new invoice/statement with different increased installment amounts which was not reflected in the first invoice i received, My instalments have now changed from R534.14 to R 563.14 monthly.
-Should i knew the new increment within the 14 elapsed dates, I could have send the orders back
as the newly added instalments are no longer in my financial means.,
As a customer, i felt that Home choice has betrayed me with hidden costs and misinterpretation of costs, why have Home choice waited after 14 days of delivery to increase/adjust their prices?, their agents we rude to me, and each was giving me different and confusing information.
Please intervene!
service that I got from homechoice
I will like to complain about homechoice service and how is handling accounts. when my account was active in 2015 I use to receive calls every month reminding me of my payments even though I was playing extra every month. 31/08/2016 I paid my outstanding balance of R3019, I never received any correspondence from homechoice as my account was paid up. 31/05/2017 I received a message saying that I have an outstanding balance of R312, I called the customer service to get clarity on that. They told me that my account is being accumulating interest.
I asked how possible is that an account of zero balance accumulate interest. They told me according to the agreement I was supposed to pay till end of May 2017, no one ever told me that. According to the receipt that I received with the pastel interests were included on the total balance and the total balance on that invoice is saying at the end of the term I would have paid R5760 and according to the payments that I've done before the term ends I paid more than R7000 how ever now suddenly I have an outstanding. And the reason for the outstanding is because I never asked for a settlement letter. Of which I still feel that is unfairly treated because when I was purchasing I told the sales advisor that the reason I don't want a stop order is because I want to pay extra when I can so that I can finish quickly and he never told me of settlement letters. Year later I'm told that I was supposed to get a settlement letter.
1. Why no one has ever told me about that?
2. Why did the monthly calls stopped after I paid my balance?
3. Why didn't I receive a refund, because I was playing extra?
pathetic customer service
It's been a week since I have been trying to contact homechoice about my return, the call has been dropped on me twice and today 25th July 2017, I finally speak to an agent who didn't drop the call but am still awaiting the sms she was to send me with reference number.
As I have repeatedly mentioned I have received my order all damaged due to poor packaging and this the second time i have received this item in this state
And it is however due to negligence from homechoice, I am not prepared to inconvenience myself or others to get to a post office due to this.
Today I was told courier will not pick up if its not furniture, unfortunately I'm not stupid, courier will pick up if they are asked too, which brings me back to the level of service we receive as customers.
There is always something that can be done, homechoice chooses to inconvenience customers, as for replies to emails I have been receiving in the last two days seems like staff are not able to read nor comprehend.
Still awaiting for this to be resolved but with this level of service I wont hold my breath, there is no help from staff members on any level just stupid excuses.
order: [protected]
Good day,
According to “my orders” on homechoice's website, the above order was dispatched. I have not received this order. I received a reply email from homechoice confirming that the items was delivered. However there was items delivered (another order) I sent homechoice the delivery note confirming what was delivered. When signing for items with the couriers it does not state on the document what was delivered. Only once the box is opened then only one can see whats inside.
I have sent many emails informing homechoice that I have not received the order. I am paying for the order I have not received.
non-delivery, now they handed me over
In November last year I ordered a bedding set, the first time in my life I order from Homechoice. Then they went and delivered it to and address 1200km from where I live! After sooo many emails and phone calls, I told them that I did not received the stock, I even sent an Affidavit to them. Now they have handed me over. And this place - SIGMASA - phones me constantly! And every time I explain to them the situation, then I have to send them all the documents AGAIN. Today was the 3rd time I sent it to them. Today was the 3rd time they have read it, and guess what? Next week they will phone me again for the same old story. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM HOMECHOICE AGAIN.
wrong items delivered
I placed an order in February for beddings that were on promotion. I ordered one frilled in plum colour and one plain in coral colour both to come with free cream pillow cases and fitted sheets but when they delivered it was 2 x plain in plum colour with no free ones. In with the delivery was a letter that they did not have stock of the items I ordered so they replaced with whatever they had. My issue is why was I not notified and given the option to choose something else or cancel the order. They want me to use my money to return the items by posting them with secured mail but it's their mistake. I have tried to get them to come collect their items but they are refusing and now have handed me to their attorneys.
I just want home choice to collect their items and clear my name because I will not pay for their mistake.
My email address is [protected]@gmail.com
I ordered a 20 l microwave and your people send me the wrong item you brought a 32 l microwave which i did not ask for and, now you want to call me and harass me, telling me i must pay for something i did not order. I've phone you guys to come and collect the item but you guys refused to come and pick it up. I do not want the item and i am not paying for it
pathetic service at homechoice customer service
When i called to update my address. The first agent was Thimna on the customer service, i did the call on the 11th of July 2017 @ about 17:18, when i asked for her surname she told me quoting her word" that doesn't have anything to do with you?". I found it service unsatisfactory. I phoned again on same date at 17:35 and i spoke to Precious which she also hang up the phone on me.I really wish and hope that those two call get listened to.
I know wants to cancel the order asap. I can not tolerate being treated like that.
blankets
I bought those promotion blankets of 3 (buy 2 get 1 free) at Home choice a while ago, and have not used it since I bough it
I used it a while ago and to my surprise I was not impressed at all because of the quality. It started to make those knots and I have not ever washed it yet.
I feel like I could have bought a lot more blankets and Ackermans/Pep Stores or ever Sheet Street, for much much less a prise.
Please kindly see foto's of the inner of the blankets and I am just wondering why deceiving customers with ads on tv that it is quality that you sell hence it is not.
I am deeply extremely disappointed in Home Choice, much so that I tear the blanket to see what is inside, just to discover the inner looks like disposable used diapers
Saddest regards

reverie bed
I have bought this bed recently and the side of the bed is starting to make like an wobble like the leather is going to break, I have called home choice last week and they assured me that they will send their people out to look at the bed. Up until this stage no one came out to look at the bed.
I am very disappointed in their services and how this matter cannot be resolved!
something I never even bought
I have already submitted an affidavit indicating that I never bought and never received any product from home choice (and from now on after this experience, those of my relatives and family and my self will never bought anything from home choice). When a consulted contacted me early in June 2017 I was told that home choice was stopping deducting my bank account will be investigating, however to my surprise when I applied for a bond at FNB (now in July) I'm being told by FNB that my bond will only go through if I provide the bank with the letter indicating that my account with home choice is in order (so I'm about to lose a R1 550 000 bond because of home choice). So can please home choice tell me which account should I make sure is up to date because I do not have an account with homechoice can they please show me where I signed for all this. Home choice never came back to me about their investigations, when I phoned today (5 July 2017) I was told that the case was submitted and they are still busy with it and I was given a number [protected]) to phone and I tried it several time and they were not picking it up. Home choice should be ashamed of themselves, this thing make me sick as I'm now suffering for something that is not of my doing, phoning, taveclling to home choice at Wynburg, emailing, reporting to home affairs that my ID have been compromised, queueing at Police station for affidavit on my own expense, largely because of home choice carelessness, surely their systems are flauraud they should have realised that by now if I look at the complaints that are here. What a shame, I'm now suffering because of you home choice what a bunch of ...

My name is Rachel Ndaba. I placed an order on the 12 June 2017 of 3 blankets for R169 which is always advertised on tv. After placing an order I received a parcel number then received an sms saying I changed my address. On the 15May 2017 I emailed my documents and also stated that I did not change my address and gave the my original delivery address. On the...

Hi on Wednesday i received a call from Charmaine Mkhize from Home choice telling ne about a competion to win the sum of 250 000 and she asked me what would i do with it. I told her that i would finish paying for my house and she said in order for me to win she had to do a qoute then i said i dnt want to oder anything and she insusted it was just a qoute and its only for me to be entered on the draw. Then i received a msg of confirmation of order but the following morning i sent an email indicating for that order to be cancelled as u realised the woman tricked me and instead on sunday the 11 June 2017 the couch was delivered and my sister signed for it as i was not the to dispute it. If i wanted something from home choice i would have made an effort to make an online purchase this is not right as there might be someone who has been tricked the same way and did nothing about it. The order number which she sent was [protected] please rectify and instruct her that she must provide for transport to come and get the couch back. Refer to our recorded call which took place on Wednesday 7 June 2017.

I would like to ask that I am immediately contacted back at [protected] or email at [protected]@yahoo.com to resolve this manner However, if I am not contacted back immediately, I will proceed with the legal action.
