Cancellation
I recently booked a one night stay at the Hampton Inn in Wentzville Missouri. I had believed I was dealing directly with the hotel but when I went to cancel my reservation they said I had to go through the website Hotel values.com who would not refund my money. A no-refund policy from a third-party interloper is an unreasonable and unethical business practice and this company should be ended. I will never again deal with this company or the Hampton Inn chain ever again
Desired outcome: Refund
Booking fee for hotel
I went to Coast Hotel at Seatac Airport's home web page. Thought I was booking a room for $110 or so. When I was done I immediately found out
I had been re directed to hotelvalues.com and they charged me $112.48
plus $67.98 for tax recovery charges and service fees..
I immediately got on the phone with hotelvalues.com as well as Coast Hotel only to find out booking was non refundable! Coast Hotel staff said they had never heard of hotelvalues.com... Hotelvalues.com said please refrain from profanity... well that was all the refund I was getting from them was blowing off steam...
Such a dastardly company! DO NOT EVER EVER EVER book or let anyone you
care about book with hotelvalues.com RIP OFF ARTISTS!
How in hell do they hack a reputable hotels website?

Reservations
Made reservations to stay at hotel on a military base, found out 2 months before reservation date due to Covid restrictions I would not be able to stay at hotel on base. I tried to cancel my reservation but it was impossible to get a human on the telephone…. Ended up paying over 300$ in cancellation fees… they make their website look like it's the actual hotel website…. I will always call the actual hotel for now on to make a reservation
Desired outcome: 300$+
Hotel reservation
Thought I was booking with Double Tree SeaTac when I made my reservation on July 28th, 2021 and was disturbed to find out I had made reservation with HOTEL VALUES..com instead! Room rates advertised were apparently All SPECIAL!. Surprised to find added HOTEL FEES increasing my total credit card charge by over $50. December finds me with travel difficulties due to family member illness, increasing Covid 19 Omicron variant cases and Canadian Government Travel Advisory and I need to make a change to my reservation.
1/No I am told they are unable to cancel and issue refund as rates are non` refundable. Do I want to cancel? I was prepared for a cancellation Fee and would have agreed to one.
2/Again, No! They are unable to change my reservation to another date. Do I want to cancel? I was prepared for a change fee and would have agreed to one.
This is Fraudulent Do not make any reservation with hotel values.com
Desired outcome: Full /partial refund or Reservation Date change
Hotel service fees not disclosed
I booked a room at what appeared to be Hampton Inn site but was not. I did not receive notice of the fees being applied until the card was charged. The sight says they follow the hotel's cancellation policy but would not do a return. That is not the hotel policy. The service fees were 48.84 with no breakdown of hotel taxes and the service fees the company took. The website did not display the fees that we're going to be charged and the receipt of the transaction does not have a breakdown of fees. I

Hotel reservations
I was charged an exorbitant fee for tax and service charges on a hotel reservation. After discovering this bait and switch, I found that the reservation could not be canceled. As a senior citizen who has to closely monitor expenses, this is unconscionable. I thought I was on the hotel website when submitting my payment information only to have it go to this website unbeknownst to me. This is why it's a bait and switch from the hotels site.
Desired outcome: Refund of ridiculous add on charge.
Hotel room
This site claims "Each room in this reservation is subject to the hotel's cancellation policy which is: This reservation is non-refundable." This is FALSE. I was booking a room for a wedding with a group discount code, however no place to input discount code. After told by hotel values to call hotel directly, hotel states I am entitled to full refund per their policy. Site was misleading as I thought I was booking directly through Hampton Inn. Finally told refund would be available 3-5 days AFTER check out in 8 Months!
Desired outcome: IMMEDIATE REFUND

Cancelation policy
I cancelled my reservation just after booking and saw they were charging a tax recovery rate of 56 dollars.. Almost half the room price. They will not refund the charge on my card. The cancelation policy says they go by the hotels policy. They claim its non refundable but I spoke with the hotel and that's not true... You have up to 24 hours before check in. Don't use they are out to scam people.
Not refunding charge
On Nov. 1 I thought I was booking a room with Double Tree Hotel in Little Rock AR for Nov. 2. Turned out the booking went through hotelvalues.com On Nov. 2 I ended up in the Emergency Room with a medical issue. I called Double Tree to cancel my reservation for that evening and that's when I found out that the booking went through a third party. I contacted hotelvalues.com immediately while I was in the ER. After sending the name of the hotel personnel who told me that Double Tree would be glad to cancel the room and a copy of my ER admittance, a month later hotelvalues.com is still refusing to refund the hotel charge.
hotelvalues.com is a scam! BEWARE when you make hotel reservations that you are not being routed to them.
Desired outcome: Refund of $184.94 for hotel room that I was unable to use
Terrible company!
I made a reservation to Ameristar I thought in Black Hawk Co. I did not realize I was booking through a third party. When I was asked to check in my reservation was for Chicago! I called and was told no transfer to correct hotel nor refund anything.
I sent this email below to Parc Hotel Alvisse in Luxembourg and indeed, it appears that you have not booked directly with the Parc Hotel Alvisse in Luxembourg but through hotelvalues.com I have also tried to contact hotelvalues.com but you get no contact with them and you lose your money. We had booked the hotel from 19-11-2021 to 22-11-2021. Also in the small print there is no mention of any money being paid out in the situation below.
Dear Sir/Madam,
My 85-year-old father has been diagnosed with Corona. We visited my father when this was not yet known. My wife and I were tested negative for Corona yesterday. According to the Dutch authorities, we have to stay in quarantine for another five days and have another test. In addition, we have been told by the doctors that my father has only five days to live. This is the reason why we want to cancel our trip.
Meanwhile, my father died of Corona's disease on 21-11-2021.
You have informed me that as Parc Hotel Alvisse you cannot help us with the reservation. It is very unclear on your site that you are making the reservation with another organisation and that you cannot mediate there either. I find this situation very sad because ultimately you are responsible for your website and customers. We have not only lost our money but also my father and I find it very annoying that you cannot or will not help us.
For all the people in the whole world, do not do business with hotelvalues.com because there is no communication and you will lose your money in this kind of situation.
Scam, they refuse to to fix my reservation, lied to me
They lie, they messed up my reservation, I called to fix it and we spend 1/2 trying to change reservations from one to two nights. She promises me it's fixed. Weeks later i'm at hotel for thanksgiving weekend with family and the hotel is asking us to leave saying we only booked for one night. I call hotelvalues.com, they insist that's all I booked even though they know I called before about the issue. They refused to do anything, refused to let me speak to a supervisor and basically said they don't care. I had to pay twice as much to book a second night through hotel. Dont us this company, they are a scam and will lie to u and cost you more money. Use hotels direct website to book reservations!
Desired outcome: Worst company ever
You should all file a complaint with the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/?pid=A then download the completed complaint form and send to legal@guestreservations.com - I have attached my form with personal info redacted for privacy, my message last night to legal@guestservices.com and the response I surprisingly awoke to this morning.
My message:
This reservation needs to be immediately canceled at no charge to me by you or the hotel. Your website was landed on in a deceptive manner making it appear I was on Hilton’s website. The call was recorded, and I questioned the charges several times, and each time your representative was elusive in not answering the questions. I asked more than once where the rate came from, as I know taxes in Florida range up to 13.5%. Basically, this is fraud, deception, and completely non-transparent. The reservation was made in a fraudulent manner. Cancel immediately as we are putting the charge in dispute and filing a complaint with the FTC.
Best Regards,
Greg

What happened

Called [protected] and advised I would like to make a reservation for the IEB RGT Home Inspector Event Dec 8 - 11th with the
event rate of $159 per night. They said the room block was sold out, and they could only do $176.xx per night. They gave me a total
of $813.66 which they said was a tax. I advised the tax for hotels in Miami is about 13.5% which brings me to just over $600. Asked
several times what the fees were, and was provided with the tax and covid fee response. Supposedly the call was recorded, so this
should be documented. Looking online, apparently many others have been scammed by this company as well. Tried to call, and only
got a recorded voice prompt that would not accept the reservation number provided in the email then I was promptly disconnected.
Try to respond to the email which only bounced back. I'm not the first victim - read here and please shut this scam down:

Fees charged to my reservation
Yesterday Nov 20th 2021 I was traveling since early morning and it was already after 6:00 PM, I was with a 5yo child and a dog. I was tired, and finally tried to book some hotels for a night staying, but first two attempts I really didn't like the hotel and the third one which I liked did not accept pets. I was 20 miles from Paducah KY and found a hotel just besides the interstate, and before making a reservation through one of those popular reservation sites such as Expedia, Snaptravel or any other, I decided to call the hotel before. I really thought I was calling the hotel because it was one of the first outcomes from a Google search on the hotel's name, and the attendant started to proceed with the room reservation, I allowed him to proceed just because the price offered was around $ 106 and on the other reservation sites it was $126. Well, I was informed about the non-refund cancellation policy and asked once more the attendant to confirm the amount to be charged on my credit card BEFORE authorizing, and had the amount below $106 CONFIRMED. When the confirmation email arrived, the price charged was above $170 and the additional amounts were due to "Tax recovery, Charges & Service Fees"
Below an explanation, copied from the site:
" What are Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees?
This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked."
Based on the above statement, they can say those are their service fees. I did not authorize any other amount but something below $106. Again, the attendant repeated that information to me.
They have a US toll-free number, I did call, but there is just an automated system that can only help on cancellations, changes or new reservations. No human to talk with.
They also failed to add the pet into the reservation, and failed also not informing me about the extra $25 for the pet which I had to pay at the hotel front door.
I got an email confirmation from [protected]@hotelvalues.com, and tried to enter on www.hotelvalues.com. The browser could not find any site with this address.
Does all of the above sound honest? Not to me. Then I did a specific Google search about this reservation site/service and realized I'm not alone on the side of unhappy clients, basically due to their "modus operandis". Unfortunately.
I am now thinking about disputing the charge at my credit card admin. I don't know. Maybe around $64 doesn't worth the headache, but sharing this case to others definitely worth.
And never ever again will make hotel reservations through phone calls.
Desired outcome: Price adjustment according to the amount authorized which is $105,63.
Taxes and services fees, deceptive marketing
Hotelvalues.com provides absolutely no value and charges excessive service fees and says it is a estimate for taxes, cleaning charges, and booking fees. For a four night stay at a Holiday Inn Express they added $197 service fee! which was approximately 50% of the actual cost for the room. this company is robbing consumers and should be shut down. They use deceptive practices by using the hotels website which then redirects you to the thirdparty site. The website doesn't say you left the hotel website and went to a third party website. You don't know until you receive the confirmation from them and see the service fee.

Hotel Reservation in Chile, November 7th 2021
I booked at Nogales Hotel & Convention Center in Providencia, Santiago, Chile. When I arrived to the Hotel, I noticed that the hotel was closed for 2 years now.
Desired outcome: Fully refund.
Charged 3x what my reservation cost is and will not refund even though hotel chain says they will authorize full refund.
I made a hotel reservation under the website for drury hotels. Apparently a website called guestreservations.com captured my activity and advertised $126 per night for a queen room. I reserved 2 rooms for one night. They did not show final bill until I confirmed, then emailed me the confirmed reservation for $690.50! I talked to them for two hours and sent them a screenshot of the price quoted on guestreservations.com and they told me drury inn would only cancel one room. I talked to drury inn and they said they had not been contacted by this company and would gladly allow them to cancel the reservation with no penalty. I called the initial reservation company back and they would not let me speak to a manager, owner, etc. AND they never took off one night charge! A charge of $690.50 appears on my bill as cci*Hotel Res.
Desired outcome: Refund of money!
this doesnt seem to be a complaint against BBB. this is a hotelvalus.com complaint. some of those sites seem to be shady though. sorry for your issue.
Excessive services fees, not knowing that you’re booking with them and not the actual hotel!
Hotelvalues.com charges excessive service fees and says it is a estimate for taxes, cleaning charges, and booking fees. For a two night stay at a Holiday Inn Express they add $76 service fee! The website doesn't say you left the hotel website and went to a third party website. You don't know until you receive the confirmation from them and see the service fee.

Beware this site is a scam. I searched for a phone number online to call Wyndham reservations directly. Somehow I ended up calling this Hotelsvalues.com and I had no idea. They make you believe that you are booking directly with the hotel. They charged me an extra $40 in fees. When I called Wyndham to complain they explained that I had booked through this third party. Be careful how you book. This is a scam!
This just happened to me! Booked at a hotel close to hospital where my husband was to have a procedure done. The hospital cancelled procedure, but when I called reservations to explain case, I was not given refund. I thought I was calling the hotel directly. Had no idea it was a third party, which explains the excessive fees. Stay away from HotelValue.com. I have tried several phone numbers to reach for further assistance, but no luck. They just can't be reached. This should not be allowed AND have to say they are third party on site.
Hotel reservation
I made a hotel reservation and immediately after making the reservation noticed the hotel was unsafe. I immediately called hotelvalues.com back to cancel the reservation. The hotelvalues.com rep told me to call the hotel direct to cancel. I then called the hotel and the hotel rep told me to cancel with hotelvalues.com. I called hotelvalues.com back and told the rep what the hotel rep told me and the hotelvalues.com rep stated they would place me on hold and try to call the hotel direct to cancel. The hotelvalues.com rep placed me on hold then got back on the line with me and told me the hotel rep would not cancel the reservation. I then called my credit card company to dispute the charge. In the end I was charged for the hotel stay after making every attempt to cancel the reservation. My credit card company asked me to send them any information I tried to cancel the reservation. I called Hotelvalues.com and the rep went over our conversations to cancel the reservation. In other words they confirmed to me my attempts to cancel via telephone. I then asked for a printout or email showing that I attempted to cancel the reservation and the hotelvalues.com rep stated she could not send that to me. I asked to speak with someone else such as a manager and she would not transfer me to anyone. In the end they gave me a run around and would not help in any way.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund, Confirmation No. R2660539653 Booking No. [protected]
Return my money
Their cancellation policy is on page 37 of their contract. I had 3 rooms booked and needed to cancel. Gave them 3 weeks notice. They would not refund any of my money AT ALL. They also charged $275 in room taxes which were not disclosed when I reserved the rooms. This is hiway robbery and this practice should not be allowed.
This company now received $680 from me and was then able to rebook those rooms. HORRIBLE BUSINESS!
Hotelvalues.com
Book a room to the holiday Inn, canceled the same day I boom the room due to a medical emergency
Still charged for the room
Desired outcome: Refund my money
No refund for cancellation
This is my email to the company who issued me an email for upset/erratic customers:
I booked a room for $186 and put in cc info then clicked apply which it then said I newded to pay $295 after taxes and fees without letting me see the final charge before.
When I proceeded to call the company 5 minutes later they said if I cancel I still owe the full amount which makes absolutely no sense. I get to the hotel and their rate is $146 and would have been $182 after everything. I have no clue why this company that is a reservation company that has nothing to do with Hilton cannot return a customers money who was in need of a last mi ute hotel due to trade show issues. That is not customer service and I was told they would get me a manager which I was on hold for over 10-plus minutes when I know that no one would ever pick up. So I will be contacting the better business Bureau, bbb, where this company already has a bad reputation nationally.
My only mistake was ever making a reservation with this thied party company.

I had already started the process of making a reservation prior to arriving at hotel. At the lobby I asked the desk if would make a difference if I made the reservation with them or since I had already started on my phone and the cost was same I proceeded with online reservation. At the completion I found Hotelvalues charged me 60$ more than what the hotel was going to charge me. I called Hotelvalues to cancel their reservation and after being put on hold forever I was disconnected and had to call all over again. The connection was very...poor during both calls barely understanding a thing said other than they wouldn't let me cancel unless the hotel approved so I HANDED my phone to the front desk and they stated they approved. What NEXT well Hotelvaue said that canceling my reservation wasn't possible. Unless you want to be charged exorbitant fees beyond the usual don't do business with these thiefs.
