I have been a HU customer for going on 15 years and living in the same home for nearly 8. I recently had a $600 bill due to what I believed was caused by a running toilet. Now, I had no idea that the toilet was running until an HU rep called to tell me my "water usage was unusually high".
Please keep in mind that this was in January, right after Christmas, and I was offered zero assistance in the way of getting that bill down. I paid it, late, but paid in full never the less.
I called HU today to discuss another unusually high bill the rep began by informing that I was seeing a credit on the 1st line of my bill because they "estimated my water usage" for the previous month and owed me money back for that. Then she proceeded to tell me that I have 2 reconnect fees on this bill. How is this even possible when I had a credit? They just talk in circles and offer nothing in the way of an actual explanation.
I am so very sick of the monopoly that this company has over this area. You never get anywhere when attempting to work with their customer service reps and you can't leave to go to another provider even if you wanted to! How is this legal?!?
Claimed loss: $140+
Desired outcome: I would like HU to credit my account for these bs these reconnect fees and ultimately I would like to have another service option.
