The bus left Durban at 11pm and for and it was stated that we'll arrive in joburg at 6:15 for that reason I booked a second ticket to go to Mpumalanga when I arrive in joburg and here we now arrive at joburg at 07:30 and the driver is not telling us anything at all he just stops whenever he likes but he doesn't communicate with us the reason for the stop

Your drivers are very rude, i am travelling from butterworth to johannesburg as we speak i had a parcel to give someone at ultra city, the driver would not even allow me to speak to the person i am giving the parcel to let alone a 5 minute refreshment some of us dont like using bus toilets and from buttterworth to umtata is a 2 hour drive and the driver would not allow me to go out i mean i could have used the garage toilet while they r busy loading, we got here 17:50 and its 6 oclock already and the bus has not moved yet i mean i would have been back by now and this is not the first time i get in an intercape bus and usually they tell us to go buy food and refresh at this point, i am really dissappointed the service has gone from bad to worce because the service was not really good even when i was travelling down to EC as well but i decided not to complain its 6:07 now the bus havent moved i mean thats just unfair.. The drivers name is Limmy sorry o ddnt get the surname... I am so dissappointed for 10 years i have been using this bus and what i got today is totally unacceptable. I woild like to get response to this as to what has been done to this matter otherwise il wil take it further...

Bad service from the stuff, when going to cape town.
Coming from cape town to Johannesburg, air-conditioner was cold the whole night, I told the driver to switch it of her never did, now the toilet is blocked urine all over the floor. Bad service, my noses and chest blocked from the air con now urine. Elderly people can't use it, they have to hold themselves until they reach a station

I just got on the 18:50 bus from Vanderbijlpark to Bloemfontein which firstly was about 20/25min late. The host that checked our names before we entered was very rude to one guy which made me very unhappy. He instructed that I can go in the bus not giving me a seat number. He continued being rude to other passengers as he came upstairs he called my name and screamed at me for sitting in someone seat and I said ok I'm coming. He continued to scream at me as I packed up my things so I can move. He does not belong in this kind of work and knows nothing about customer service. I wish I never have to be in a bus with him. I am very sad and disappointed in the service I recieved from him. You are going to loose a lot of customers because of him. I really hope u are able to track him and take him to some customers service course.

Someone did my booking for me and my kids. I got on on cape town when i got on the bus to sit i saw that i am sitting behind my kids and on the opposite side of my kids there was a place open i went to sit there till the next stop. So i decided that maybe i should ask if i cant just sit there and when the person comes i wil then just ask if we could swop places my kids are 9 and 5. And when i asked the buss attended he said NO i cant sit there but the seat is open... i will never travel intercape again. Please give your people training on how to speak to your customers

I had a horrific experience with intercape, I booked a bus for 13th sept 2018 of which i arrived at the pretoria bus station by 13:15 but i was told the bus had already left a while ago, we were advised to wait for the 4pm bus and check if there will be space for me and my boyfriend. We waited and the bus got there and departed at 16:30 and the told us it was wrong for the sales assistants to keep us waiting until that time, we arrived at johannesburg station at 17:30 there were 4 seats available of which 1 had cancelled and 2 missed the bus and the other 1 to check in at bloem, So the guy who was in charge at Jnb said he had no problem to authorise our travel only needed to speak to the drivers and left us by the laggage, the next thing we see the bus departing without any explanation and he Frans came back and said theres nothing he can do, Just imagine waiting for more than 6hrs thinking you will be help. I took a bus from Durban to Johannesburg on Sunday the 9th of September. The condition and service of that bus was appalling!
The toilet onboard had a strong sickening urine odour. Like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
We were subjected to that disgusting environment for over 6 hours. With no rest stop.
It is unbelievable that the Intercape has deteriorated to such an extent.

We have been sitting in Johannesburg for an hour because the toilet in the bus doesn't work, why can't you send another bus? And they just told us they don't know when the mechanic will be here to fix the toilet so we don't know how long we still have to wait, aren't your buses checked before being dispatched, we still have such a long way to go and sitting here and waiting is not helping

Friday night, the 17th, about 9:40 pm bus lady sees me flashing my phone light so she can stop, she doesn't. She drives away about 60 mph and left me hanging . Are you kidding me ?! Now I have to take my car, pay tolls, gas and parking that will cost me $70-$100. I want to know who is paying for this ? This has got to stop. I am tired of this nonsense. It is not the first time this has happened. I can't believe this. Why ? Why don't you stop at the stops and pick up working people who are just trying to get to work ?! Am I paying over $23, 000 in taxes for this nonsense ? I want this lady fired ASAP.

Dear intercape
I received a call from one of your employees at about 6:41 pm on saturday the 11th of august using the number [protected] unfortunately I couldn't hear properly who his name was as I was at the mall and noise was too loud. The person was asking if I am in your bus that left from johannesburg on saturday midday (12:10pm) and I told the guy that the person who was in that bus was my father mr. A. Chilangwe and that I just bought a ticket for him as I am currently in cape town. The person told me that the reason he called was because he picked up a lost passport for mr chilangwe in a bus as it was loading passengers in bloemfontein, he further instructed me that I must go to intercape offices in cape town and collect it there. Unfortunately, when I went to cape town on sunday morning, everyone seemed not to know anything about my father's passport, I tried to tell them that one of the person called me explaining to me about the passport but they couldn't help, my father was supposed to use the very same intercape and return back to malawi on tuesday the 14th of august, please help me find my father's passport as he is expected to go back to malawi as soon as we get the passport.

wrong seats
I am very unhappy about the services I received from Intercape today. The seats that was booked is now booked for other passangers.
When I made the booking by telephone I stated that the two passangers MUST SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. Then I received the booking with seat numbers to confirm that they are next to each other.
When they board on the bus today their seats was allocated to other passangers.
I make use of Intercape every month and I use Intercape because I trust your company. But I am very unhappy about the services.
attitude of driver
On thursday 2 August I was travelling on the N2 near Somerset West at approximately 8H45 in the right lane doing a 100 Km per hour in a 80 KM zone. The driver of one of your vehicles CY 76008 was obviously driving faster than the speed limit and constantly changing lanes. Morning traffic was quite busy when he tried to change lanes once again flicking light and throwing ugly signs at me. Not what i expected from a professional driver from a reputable company, Putting public safety at risk and being so arrogant about it. Further it was rather strange that the driver made unscheduled stops to off load passengers on the side of the road. I dont know maybe it is company policy to do so.
I have always regard Intercape as one of the leading companies in the industry and such behavior does a lot of damage to any companies reputation.

I travelled with Intercape from Springbok to Upington on the 26th of July and back again yesterday on the 28th. My bus number was 223 yesterday. Overall I cannot complain about the bus, it is clean and tidy, accept for the fact that there was no toiletpaper in the toilet, but the service is really very bad. The Intercape bus service advert that you play on board is quite the opposite of what people are getting. The Intercape personnel is very rude and un-supportive. Unfriendly too. Firstly the way they throw your suitcases into the bus trailer is uncalled for and when you get to your destination they rely on passengers to tell them which cases are theirs and they don't even check the tickets to make sure. Why I ask you is there a number on the suitcase as well as on your ticket if they are not making sure you take only your own luggage. Then another thing, you claim on your on-board entertainment video that you are a Christian service and that you pray before every departure and on every arrival, but your personnel is rude and nobody interacts with you during the route. So no prayer at all. Then there is the silence at every stop. No announcement that we are now at this town or nearing this town, nothing. There are old people on these busses. Some of them are very deep sleepers. I was sitting next to a lady and luckily I asked her when she got on where she was going. She didn't even wake up when we got to her destination. If I hadn't woken her she would not have gotten off at her stop. I have been riding Intercape for many years. The personnel was always friendly and helpful, especially the ladies on cabin crew, which is now obviously not there anymore. We were always informed where we were. Always greeted with a smile. Not anymore. I will be travelling with Eldo Coaches from now on. Had enough of bad service and busses that is late most of the time. This weekend's experience was not the first time. Really disappointed!

Good day I am not very happy with your company. The service were bad. In the first place I booked 2 seats on the bus from Kimberley to Cape town on Thursday 12 July 2018. I received a sms that the bus are running late. After that I received a call to inform me that the bus will not be able to pick us up because of the protest action in Kimberley. I have to made sudden arrangements to book us in at a guesthouse on my expense. The next day we booked again and we were told that the bus will arrived at 19:45. We wated until 20:15 and I decided to contact your office, the lady inform me that the bus is running late and will arrive in 15 min. The bus only arrived at 21:30. We have to sit in the cold for 2 hours. The bus did not stop for refreshments. The driver stopped at Beaufortwes to smoke, when we want to get of to smoke to the driver inform us that he will not wait for us. I contacted the centre again to asked why there is no refreshment stops and the lady inform me that they are running late and that they will only stop at Laingsburg. That is unacceptable to let the passengers sit in a cramped bus for more then 8 hours without any stops. The driver also stopped in the middle of the road at a dangerous spot to change drivers after he almost caused an accident. And the cherry on the cake is that he got stuck without diesel at Paarl and I have to make arrangements to pick us up to another cost to my pocket. I will never use your services again and will make sure my friends [censored] well.

Unethical behavior of drivers
15 July 2018.
On the 14 July 2018 my mother and my daughter were travelling from Midrand Shell garage station and going to Uitenhage bus station. My first unprofessional instance was with the driver who was loading the luggage at the trailer. I was first on the queue and while I stood there the driver went inside the trailer and told me to give him the bag. I told him that the bag was heavy, and he insisted that I packed the bag so I should be able to load it onto the trailer. I told him that I was not the one travelling but it was my mother and daughter. He blatantly refused to load it and told me I was wasting his time. A kind gentleman behind me offered to help and he loaded the bag onto the trailer. During our argument I told him that I could report his behaviour as it was unprofessional and his said "Do you want my name?". I said yes, in which case he did not give me so I thanked him and proceeded to the entrance of the bus. As my mother was preparing to board, they assigned her a seat up one level, in which case I asked if she could be moved to the lower level. The main reason was she was scared of heights, she is on medication and she is over 50. The driver at the entrance complained but I asked if she had an episode would he stop the bus and assist her? Then he changed the seat.
Following that I left and my family went to Uitenhage safely, however, they were confronted with a situation where the drivers refused to give her the luggage and said I told them the bags were getting off in PE. They said that I had told them that the bags were getting off in PE (mind you I am in Midrand that time, so there's nothing I can do about it). Both drivers of the bus humiliated my mother infront of other passengers, they belittled her and in their argument they kept referring to me, what I has said. My mother and daughter had to travel from Uitenhage (at 5:30 am) and go to PE depot, where the bags were placed next to the door. My mother told the depot manager what had happened and she told me. In which case I called Intercape and lodged a formal complaint. After my complaint, someone from Intercape called me and told me that I told the drivers that the bags were getting off at PE, me all the way in Gauteng.
What disappointed me from the person who called me back was the response she gave me. She told me drivers have no control over where the passengers get off as well as their bags. Mind you, I paid a ticket for Uitenhage and I gave my mother the luggage tickets which would be used when she was getting off to get her stuff. That process was never followed. In stead my mother and daughter's life was put in danger. What if something happened to them, what if they were stranded, even worse, what if they were raped? These drivers did not have any compassion, any consideration, any care for human beings. And it is disgusting that they are trained in all these processes that they must follow and they never do that. If a ticket says Uitenhage, what right does a driver have to tell the passenger that she will not get her things because I said they are getting off in PE? I can't even defend that, there is nothing I can do. What right do these drivers have for traumatizing a child? Humiliating a person's dignity? This is not the first time they have done it and they always get away with it. They do disgusting things to people and nothing is ever done about them, they terrorize and threaten people if they tell them the truth. It is a fact they are not doing their jobs, it is a fact they put people's life in danger, it is a fact that there's no use for any tickets issued because they don't know what to do with them. I hope people do not use Intercape and I hope if someone has ever had such an experience they can speak out so that we can put a stop to the abuse that these bus drivers are doing. It is a great shame because I have been a customer since 2011 and these kinds of drivers give all the good drivers a bad name because of their inconsideration. Thank you

I have purchased a ticket on 2 June 2018 for my son, and cancel it on 3 June 2018 (for school exam). Consultant said they will reverse my money within 5days. They sent me email saying they reversed my money. I emailed my bank statement as o proof that I didn't received it. They said they will reverse my money before Friday . Till today still waiting for them.

the worst bus service ever..bis 053 from paarl to Joburg which left on 09 july..outside.of kroonstaad stuck for almst 5 hours waiting for bus to be fixed..no care was given to is..only to be told by a very rude driver that we can call the company and complain if we want..no food or water provided as we stood on the side of the road awaiting a bus coming from johannesburg to rescue us from this tragedy..thos service is both disgusting and inhumane...a disgrace

I booked the 2pm bus to Masvingo from Joburg on 29June, however because of the bad traffic i was running late. I called the Intercape offices to notify them that i was stuck in traffic and will be 5minutes late, i was told the bus was still there and i could still get it. On arrival at park station around 2:06pm i saw an Intercape bus leaving, so i ran to it to check if it was th bus and the driver said it was not the harare bus. I got to the check in and was told that the bus that i saw going out now, was the one, and now i had to buy another ticket for another bus and forfeit the current ticket. I asked if it was not possible for me to take th gautrain and meet the bus in pretoria, but they said the bus wont stop in pretoria, so i ended up buying a ticket from another bus for that afternoon.
On Sunday, i bought a return ticket to Joburg from Masvingo. The bus was scheduled for 10pm, but however it only arrived around 1am, +3hours late. No communication to notify us that the bus was running late. Was waiting for the bus from 9pm, i even called the offices twice just for them to tell me the whereabouts of the bus and their answers were not so truthful considering the time the bus eventually arrived. No apologies at all were given for the delay.
I forfeited a ticket for being 5minutes late and yet had to wait for 4 hours for the bus and nothing is done. This is terrible service, and i actually want a refund on my friday ticket. This is not the first i had to wait for hours because of the bus delay. If i can wait 4hours an sure they could wait for 5minutes.
Am a loyal customer and am really hurt by such treatment

I booked a tickets for my aunt and my two kids(14months) and (9yr old) online from Durban to Johannesburg on 20 June 2018.The bus left Durban around 11:15 which was the estimated time for the bus to leave Durban station. The bus didn't stop anywhere for refreshments and for people to stretch themselves. My frustrations is that there were children in the bus who were hungry for all these hours because the bus only got to Johannesburg at 19:43. The youngest child was crying all this time and your ruthless driver didn't bother himself. Is this how the passengers are supposed to be treated? being traumatized like this?

The bus departed from durban station to Johannesburg park station at 23:00 on the 17th of june 2018 and arrived at 06:15 18 jund 2018. The bus drivers of this bus refused to switch of the freezing air condition system or atleast to raise the temperature slighlty. I and other customers of intercape asked them to raise the temperature and they just did not bother and kept on saying they are trying or in my case, told me that the system does not work. The temperature was so low that I couldn't feel my hands and feet.
As a loyal customer of intercape I expect something to be done about these drivers, I feel sorry for customers who brought childern along on this unpleasant journey that we had.
If conformation of this is needed, contact any of the customers who where on this bus and they will tell you the same.
