Interval International / IntervalWorld.com restriction of access to their site

Since September 2017, I have not been able to get into the site of Intervalworld.com to enable me check accommodation availability of my choice. When I call to complain they keep telling me the issue is with my browser.
I've not changed my browser since 2009 that we became members and I've also been using the same browser for all other different sites without any issue. I have even tried to use other systems here in my country (Nigeria) yet I cannot access the site
They will always tell me that the site opens on their system & that they could check & book accommodation for me: that way they always tell me there's no availability in the places we want. Why don't they just allow me access to check for myself? Very disappointing & frustrating.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com get away

I paid $1949.00 for the Aston Banyan Waikiki through Interval Get Aways. The hotel was charging $1039.00 for the identical room on the identical dates. I have proof of screen shots printed 5 minutes apart on the same day. Interval will not reimburse me despite best price guarantee. I've submitted the proper form. Lots and lots and lots of excuses. No reimbursement

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com exchange certificates

I was given 3 "free" guest certificates, but when it came to redeem one of them, I was told I have to pay for the MANDATORY "all inclusive package" directly from the resort. I just checked with the Moon Palace in Jamaica for how much the all inclusive package costs on top of my certificate exchange cost.

The certificate would have to be bought for about $200. For the inclusive daily cost, I was quoted $229 a day for one person and I was told that I have to pay for 2 people even though I was the only one going. It is discrimination for solo travelers. It would cost me $3, 206 for a week there.

What's the use of owning a timeshare for exchange when I am quoted those kinds of prices? I can go directly to other sites with all inclusive for a fraction of this price. This is a total ripoff. It is absolutely RIDICULOUS.

I can't wait to get rid of my timeshare and get out of those scams.

It is a good thing I did not redeem that certificate and then would have the surprise to pay over $3, 000 after the fact. I did find out about this on line for people who had this experience.

This is why I am writing this to warn other Interval International users.I also complained to Interval International directly.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com they are lying to me trying to take my confirmed vacation back

I have a confirmed vacation to Villa Roma Resorts for the 1st week in April 2018. Interval international is lying to me saying the resort is closed that week due to a hurricane. I have talked to the Resort. They are not closed. There is no problem with my reservation on their end. Interval international representatives continue to tell me they are closed. They will not help me.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com bonus weeks

I've been a member of II for more than 20 years and have enjoyed their bonus weeks available when I deposited one of my timeshare weeks in Florida. This year they sent me the "deposit your week for a bonus week mailer" but neglected to point out that the qualifying weeks were different this year. Consequently, I deposited my week but did not receive a bonus week after all these years. I contacted customer service and questioned why they had sent me a mailer if my weeks did not qualify for the bonus and was told nothing could be done. Needless to say I'm one pissed off client and will spread the word about II's poor customer service.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com no availability ever in desirable resorts equivalent to mine. only miserable studio types in remote areas

I have been told each year that i have made late Deposit and therefore need to book exchange more than 59 days ahead of time. At which point they also inform me that as late deposit i only have access to x and y, and not a and b. If my deposits are late, that is because they only send me my bill or maintenance towards the end of the year. Also whenever i call them, i systematically get the answer phone, with a call returned a couple of days later. I do not sit in an office all day, therefore inevitably when someone returns my call at their convenience, it is not at mine and i am not near phone, and so the cat and mouse game can go on for weeks, months. They also offer me getaways instead of exchange as there are never any availabilities. They systematically try to get me too upgrade my membership and extend for 1, 2 or 5 years.

This year i managed to exchange a week for a hotel, had to cancel, and lost my deposit week. I was told that that is just how it is! Really? Is that written in fine print somewhere? Crooks as anyone can see. It is so much faster, cheaper and less hassle to find hotels, apartments on one'sown without staying on line for 1/2 h r being called back days later, paying fees, and never receiving what one is entitled to according to purchase documents. Absolutely scandalous!

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com I never applied to become a member--staff at II ignore my requests to be cancelled

My husband and I fell for a timeshare selling scan we are presently involved in trying to get out of. One of the things these people did was to sign us up for Interval International. We belong to two other vacation clubs, so this is nothing we would have accepted. We get promotional e-mails, big fat catalogs, flyers, and, recently a bill for $100+ from these people. Every e-mail sent I respond to, telling them over and over to cancel our "membership". I refuse their mailings, and send everything we get right back to them. But a bill! I even spoke via phone with people at II, and nothing was ever done. I know we can ignore promotional mailings and e-mails, but a bill! Afraid they will garnishee us for that! (Guy at timeshare scam got mad when I called II and told them to cancel!)

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com accommodation certificates

We regularly receive Accommodation Certificates related to our Prime Week at Hilton Head Waterside. In recent months, we've tried to use three Accommodation Certificates, one of which has now expired, one of which is about to expire, and one of which will expire in the fall. In each case the II Vacation Advisor told us (on the phone) that "there's nothing available in the US" for use with our Certificates. We have previously had some success with Bonus Weeks through RCI (for a different property), but using our II Accommodation Certificates has so far fproved impossible. Last year, the II Advisor persuaded us to use their "Getaway" program instead, which resulted in our paying several hundred dollars for the vacation. It seems clear that this is more profitable for them than the Accommodation Certificate program, which now seems like a scam aimed at getting us to pay extra fees for using an alternative reservation method.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Vacation exchange

Exchanged for Fantasy World 2 resort. Room was infested with ants and other bugs. I spoke to the management several times about the bugs. I had to look all my food in the car at each night. The company sprayed but this did not help and they would not provide another room. I checked out 3 days early. Request a refund of my exchange fees and another week added to my exchange account.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Useless accommodation certificates

Accommodation certificates are provided and sold as a 'benefit' to the user, however when trying to exchange, you are limited to the resorts it can be used for which end up being mostly, if not all, all inclusives.

the all inclusives are charging more $'s for the 'inclusive' part than what you can buy the all inclusive with flight and hotel in total.

I was told, using the interval certificate, my all inclusive would be $3800 pp (can't break the week, have to pay for all week) but I can buy the all inclusive + hotel + flight for $3482. Does this make sense?

what a useless product. we will not necessarily rush to bank our weeks to allow interval to have better use of our week as an exchange for a win - loss relationship as this is.

everyone wonders why time shares are getting a bad rap, well. truth is in the details.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Accommodations certificates

No benefit to get when all thats offered is only the junk hotels and the window to view availability is only 59 days. Expand the window and allow members to choose from more of the inventory. Its only a source of frustration to spend days scouring the site at even 3am and only junk remains and you know inventory exists cuz you have regular weeks to deposit and can see the inventory for those potential trades, but your accommodations certificate expires first and your trying to some kind of benefit from it and all the decent inventory is being kept from you. These certificates arent being used as a reward but rather a punishment. Interval can see by years of your past trade history that your vacation needs are more than a crummy hotel room with no separate bedrooms, no kitchens, no laundry. Places offered have high all inclusives and to destinations that are completely off season or just crummy. So sick of this company~!

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Lack of room availability / getaway reservation platinum membership / exchanges fees / customer service

I am an owner of a Timeshare and a member of Interval International over 10 years, I was a Gold Member and recently they sold me to moved up to a Platinum Membership. I have tried numerous times to book through Interval International first trying to use 3 gift certificate promotions from Interval International given to us if we renewal early for 3 years altogether we had 3 certificate must be used Jan. – May. On numerous times I called in and spoke with customer service received poor service “You can't book within 30 days or we don't have anything available at this time call back”. When you call back they offer a getaway for more money. I ask to speak with a manager they said no manager was able to speak to me. I was told to call back something should open up soon, I call back at least once a week “Nothing” I was told from customer service to put a deposit on a resort and if something come available they would contact me, It's been 2 month and no one has contact me. I call today and customer service me to renewal my Platinum Membership and Deposit my week. The customer service is rude and don't care Interval International is “Horrible”.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Lack of room availability

I am an Interval International Gold Member through Shell Vacations Club.
I have tried numerous times to book through II only to be told the dates and destination areas desired had no availability. Full disclosure, I was offered less desirable locations and dates. I have been told several times that the solution is to book one (1) year in advance, which I believe is impractical for most people unless you are planning the trip of you life.
I feel helpless in that I purchased my SVC membership ten years ago and have kept up the maintenance fees only to find the I am having difficulty using the points. This was not an issued prior to the exchange partnership with Interval Int'l. My only hope is the SVC will reevaluate this partnership and consider getting back together with RCI.

Have noticed similar difficulties since the switch from RCI. There seems to be less and less availability on II. Even when you ask for anything in the next 12 months very little comes up. I have paid for those exchange fees to have II watch for your result to come up. I have been waiting three months for something next year in Maui and no results. I used to be able see Maui availability almost anytime and now virtually nothing shows up even a year ahead. I wonder what is going on? Shell please hear us!

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Getaway reservation

I am planning a vacation week for my family. I found Grand Seas resort in Daytona Beach, FL. Before purchasing, I called Interval and Grand Seas directly. I needed to be sure that I could reserve a handicapped room with walk in shower for my father, who is 85 years old. I was told that 1 room was available for my week, which was 6/11-6/18. I was told that the reservation would be sent by Interval to Grand Seas within 24-48 hours. I was told that once Grand Seas had the reservation in the system, I could request the handicapped room. Based upon this information, I purchased 3 rooms. I have called Grand Seas several times. They still do not have the reservations. I have since been told that the reservations are not sent over to the resort until 3 weeks prior to the date. I have been on the phone for the past 2 days trying to get this resolved. I have been lied to by at least 2 Interval representatives. The issue is still not resolved.

The vacation inventory listed online for vacation getaways is very limited, and does not contain the best resorts in the portfolio. Interval also sends out special offers, claiming that they are free to certain members. These offers are not free at all. By the time you are finished with booking the vacation, you are hundreds of dollars out of pocket.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Meal deal package payment system

My husband rang in July 2016 and obtained a quote for the meal deal package for 14 days In Moon Palace Jamaica Grande for over the Christmas holiday (23Dec-6Jan2017) having already secured the room. We made two initial payments and requested our outstanding balance for the meal package as the payment notifications received didn't state how much had been paid or the balance outstanding. We raised the issue and the manager emailed us the amount paid and what our outstanding balance was. Subject to payment 30 days before arrival, we phoned up yesterday 7 Nov to pay the outstanding balance and was told it's now a higher amount!
When asked why this was they explained that the rate is subject to change ! Under no circumstances whether verbally or in writing on any documents received did it say after making the deposit the balance is subject to change!
Having called up the Palace Resort in the US they believe we were incorrectly given the wrong quote from the start. However they are unable to honor the original lower quote although we have it in writing! Under the circumstances we are not prepared to pay another £1000 difference when we are already paying a lot of money for the 2week period.
Yet again we are extremely unsatisfied with the Moon Palace payment process and complaints procedure. We emailed a letter of complaint in July due to the catalogue of errors at the start, which as of to date we are yet to receive a reply!
This was supposed to be a stress free holiday with a 5 star hotel. However the whole payment process leading up to it has been totally unacceptable and unprofessional and have resulted in cancellation of our trip! Under no circumstances have they apologised. We were told we can either pay the difference or find another hotel!

We have booked and stayed at numerous 5star hotels across Jamaica over the years but have never been as disappointed with the hotel customer service provided until now!

Anyone booking via Interval International beware! We will be adding our customer review feedback with all the leading hotel booking companies!

I am presently in the process of trying to book a trip to a Caribbean hotel and am astonished at the mandatory all inclusive "deals" that seem to have cropped in within the last few years. Most of these programs are not "deals" some being as high as 3500.00US for 1 week per couple! My husband and I are not drinkers and usually do not eat 3 meals a day so this is quite a losing deal for us. When we purchased with Interval, nearly 20 years ago, this was not heard of. I can't imagine trying to travel with a family today and having to pay for all inclusive on top of what airfare and other costs mount up to. I can appreciate the convenience of the plans but they should not be mandatory. I unfortunately am not going to to travel and be held hostage by my resort for all my meals, and 3000.00 + for two people for a week. I hope many others feel the same and voice their dissatisfaction to Interval and perhaps we can make a change in the mandatory policies!

I completely agree. I've had an II membership for a dozen years and for the first 10 was a satisfied customer. Now though nearly every resort worth staying at in the Caribbean or Mexico requires the purchase of a meal plan and as most have already mentioned at a price that is ridiculous. Why did I spend $24, 000 to purchase a deeded week in a beachfront 5 star hotel, pay $1100 a year in maintenance fees only to find out that I can now travel cheaper almost any other way? Come on II, understand that without members you have no business.

The Social Security Administration allows private banks to not pay their secured liabilities
and treat their contribution people better in violation of state laws. When women and children and men
are eating befroe those that paid the bills, then a new deal must be invoked that each ssa representative
must file a food stamp deposit from their own funds sp that those that paid have control and say

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com San francisco fisherman's wharf and interval international

We bought a timeshare at San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf around 1998. So far we have not ben able to get an exchange. They guaranteed that we could get an exchange anywhere anytime if we bought a 2B/2B.

We did that and have never been able to exchange weeks except in Iowa, Nebraska, and other mid-states during the off season-winter or in between.

We have been paying $1500/year just for association fees. If we give up a prime week in August, September, or holidays we only receive a mere $400 for a $3, 000+ townhome. I am disgusted with both of these organizations and only wish I could have a lawsuit filed on my own. Suzy White

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Platinum membership scam

Several years ago Interval sold me on their Platinum membership which have several minor benefits but the only benefit worth jumping from their Gold to the Platinum is the companion air certificate. My account is on auto renew and I just last week received the welcome back packet outlining my benefits, which include companion air fare. When I called today to ask them to send the new cert for the new renewal year I was told they discontinued it in April. If the benefit was discontinued in April why did the packet I received for my June renewal indicate I still had the benefit? The first membership rep put me on hold for several minute to check to see if I was one of the grandfathered members that still had the benefit only to be told sorry I was not. I was then transferred to the resolution department which I felt would certainly take care of this . The resolution department told me there was no such grandfathered group and they could change benefits any time with out notice. Since they discontinued this in April and I did not renew until June my member package listing this benefit should have been honored and I am very sure I'm not the only person they have done this to.

Companies that are major companies will not provide credit cards to those who had worked for them and rated as very high employees. Instead they pay taxes to Hispanics that will not issue by state law what they are required to
do and they keep you out of your home. One of the ladies name in Andrea and we think that she should

and we think that she should pay through the consulate by working in Mexico and pay us the money that

own professions are not doing anything about it because it does not make money and is loss time.

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Unethical management and lack of customers data security

In 2013, I was asked by someone I considered a professional colleague and friend to do her a favor and fill a VP level role on a temporary basis at Interval International (Interval Leisure Group, INC., IILG) after at least 3 turnovers for the position within about a 6 month period. I did so with the expressed commitment the position would become permanent after the holidays and the conclusion of major business transactions occurring at the time. Among other concerns, I also uncovered a potential SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) violation due to a lack of data security. (Please see “Ethics: The cost of violations and how to mitigate them.”)

During a sexual harassment investigation involving an IT Contractor, I discovered that data security was at risk due to the use of dozens of high-level highly compensated IT and Finance Contractors whom had almost unlimited access to confidential customer and company information. Despite diligent effort, I was unable to locate records that background checks or drug checks had been executed for these workers nor had their identity been validated or the basic security protocols followed, such as a photograph for their security access ID badge or their vehicle information. Yet they had security clearance that exceeded that of many executives. The company had an expensive security system in place at every door as well as security guards, not to mention server servicing and backups yet their failure to consistently apply security procedures to consultants completely undermined these measures. Every employee of the company, including those earning under $10 an hour with little to no access to confidential information submitted to these screenings. However, these contractors were being paid through accounts payable therefore they were not subjected to HR screenings. Additionally, most were hired through various staffing agencies with outdated and/or inconsistent contracts. Based upon an agency contract audit I initiated and managed, I found that most agency contracts either did not require the agency perform these screenings or even if it was stated in the contract, the agency did not actually execute that requirement unless they were specifically asked to do so and I found no records such had occurred. Therefore I identified this known practice created significant risk to employee safety as well as data security.

Data security has increasingly become a major threat to US companies with recent breaches at multiple government agencies, Home Depot, Target, Anthem, Ashley Madison, JPMorgan, Ebay and Sony Pictures just to name a few and the associated costs is easily in the billions.

Interval’s quarterly SOX audit never caught the issue. The audit simply did not ask the right questions so everything was checked off and cleared along with executive signatures that they had no concerns about internal systems, quarter after quarter, year after year. Which is likely why I was terminated abruptly as the quarterly statement was being prepared and I would not have signed it without this issue on it. This was the company’s long standing practice so apparently no one had ever questioned it. When I repeatedly pushed for corrective action on the potential SOX violation asking that consultants submit to these basic screenings, I was immediately terminated and escorted mid-day from the building. The SVP of Human Resources was well aware of the situation and in fact created or at least significantly contributed to its existence yet remains in position. Additionally, I informed the CEO, COO and Chief Legal Counsel of these concerns as well as other potential business ethics violations. While I have no idea if they addressed the data security issue, they took no action to address the negative impact I suffered.

Most concerning to me is the fact that many tourism and hospitality customers may not realize that IILG manages the back office and therefore customer data for various subsidiaries and partners that may include Trading Places International (TPI), Hyatt Residence Club, Aqua-Aston Hospitality, Vacation Resorts International, VRI Europe, Hyatt Vacation Ownership (HVO), the Hyatt Residence Club, Hyatt Vacation Ownership, other affiliates of Hyatt Hotels Corporation as well as other participants in their timeshare and cruise exchange programs. This potentially exposes hospitality service providers and millions of their customers to data breach without their slightest level of awareness. For example, who would have the resources and perspective to link burglaries of the families of these various providers while they travel? Would investigators be able to identify a pattern and source or would they simply conclude occurrences were unrelated?

Interval International / IntervalWorld.com Exchange availability

I have been a member of Interval International for close to 20 years. There was always a lot of availability to exchange. I never had a problem. In the last couple of years there is more availability for Getaways than for Exchanges. This company has become more of a travel agency. They are constantly pushing Getaways so that they can charge a larger fee..
I think the government or somebody should look into this company. If there was a Class Action Lawsuit started, I would definitedly join it.
