I applied to become an expert for JustAnswer.com and was fooled by their false promises of good money to people who are experts in their field. I spent over an hour on the verification process filling out answers to their questions and they "looked" pretty legit.
JustAnswer.com said that before they approve you for their website, that Lexus Nexis will charge me $20.00 for a background verification and if they accept me, they will reimburse me. Ok, Lexis Nexus is a reputable company. I went for it and paid the money.
Don't pay the money to be verified by JustAnswers.com to be verified as an expert. They accepted me for their website before the background check and then rejected me after I paid the $20 to be verified. How convenient for them. Trust me, there is nothing questionable about my background. I cannot help to think that JA gets a kickback from Lexis Nexus, but I cannot verify that.
JustAnswer, cost me $20.00 on a false promise. What I don't understand about these scam artists is that if they will reimburse you for the background check, why don't they do the right thing and just pay it from the start. Why tell me that I am accepted and then reject me AFTER I pay the $20.00
There are far more websites out there that pay you for your expertise without charging you upfront. Stay away from this ripoff site and go to a more reputable site.
For the experts who were actually accepted, good for you. I hope you made your $20 back, but search the internet and you will find more unhappy experts who also lost $20 than the ones who were accepted.

You were probably rejected because your expert qualifications were not up to JustAnswer's standards. If you can't pass the test, you will be rejected. If your degrees or certifications, liscenses or work experiance can't be verified, you will be rejected. If you HAD READ UP FRONT what would be required of you, you should have been able to discern the height of the bar you were going to be asked to jump and would have realized that you were not prepared to meet those qualifications BEFORE the Lexis Nexis verification fee was charged. More than half of the expert applicants are rejected because of lack of verifiable qualifications. I have been an expert for 2 years in 2 categories but could not qualify as an expert in a third catagory because even even though I owned a business for several years that specialized in the service in which I was appling for expert status in, It had been closed for over a decade and my experiance therefore, could not be verified. I for one am very glad it is so difficult to become an expert on JustAnswer as it HELPS to weed out potential expert wanna bees that try to gain expert verification without really being an expert in that category.
If even one of the things you list as part of the verification cannot be verified, you will be rejected. But, Having spent 4 years on that site as a boat expert, I quit because of the unfair treatment by the people who run that site. They are now all but done for because of this. They are ripping their experts off too. Keep in mind that the individual experts have no control over the billing. They just answer the questions and about half the time (while I was an expert) we didn't get paid. When that dropped to about 85-90 % of the time not getting paid, and that happend overnight, I quit answering for them. I went from making 3-5 hundered a day, to making 300 a month on june 28 2012. The day they started Pearl.com which is the same company with a different name. They are all around dishonest people.

My verification, East Indian fellow call me from a noisy boiler room and ask me about myself! & would I hire myself again! not noticing my ph # and name were the same as the owner of my company!
JustAnswer has a no accept no pay policy, that is no pay to the expert, cause JustAnswer gets their money up front, and keeps all the money if the customer never accepts, JustAnswer has a AAA rating with the BBB as they will settle with everyone who goes through the BBB, they give this rating even if they only settle with customers via the BBB which seems the case.
There are a core of 4-5 "experts" that are online daily all day and night and most days of the year,
they use fake stock photos as the "experts" BillyJr aka Billy1961 and phil etc 2 of the most prolific, however Billy 1961 the HVAC mentor is feared among all the experts, for some reason Billy1961 has great pull with the admin at JustAnswer.com / Pearl.com and I suspect I know why! Allow me to demonstrate my findings...

WOW I wish i had, he even peer reviewed me on his own fake question, I said he had amazing audacity, he really sucks, why some [censored] has to be like that?
