Horrible, we are penalized when they screw up
So frustrated with them right now. I need this money. It all started when I submitted a claim, received a determination notice, and I could not get a hold of anybody via the call center to get clarification. Their ask didn’t make sense. I replied with the forms and included a note that I was confused, could someone call me, 8 months later the original issue was never resolved and when I escalated through my state rep to ask someone to call me, the agents gave me incorrect any money and basically been denied. That was in June and my year ended in this February. If they could have answered my call in June and given me correct directions on how to resolve - I would not be crying today because they’ve denied every following claim.
Ultimately, they weren’t available to help and pointed me in the correct direction And I’m down the $6000 in claims that they declined. I need that money, we’ve had to pull money out of our retirement 401K to cover out bills.
I think this is enough of a red flag that I need to move out of state before I retire, because Kansas Government is too incompetent. They don’t give a $&£& about Kansans.
Recommendation: Don’t live in Kansas.

Just dropping here since America sucks as a country anymore and kansas is the best example of why. I got fired because of bull crap reasons and my KS unemployment is inactive. Calling all 4 service centers just disconnects me every time. I've got an interview but nobody called and since I can't call or email them they force me to just not be able to find out anything and give up. Really really moving from this stupid state forever, from where I was born and raised, and screw this entire country. As far as I'm concerned I'll just retire at 43 and collect what social security I can and maybe have it mailed to my new address outside this worthless piece of crap country.

I have been unemployed since June 9, 2023 due to a layoff from a company I worked with for 5.5 years. I have great work experience, references, and my MBA. My unemployment has been delayed twice in this time period. First, it was because my apartment number was not added correctly by the unemployment office - and us bank was not allowed to correct the error because the state of Kansas had locked the system to where they were the only ones who could fix the error., it took a month and a half to get my bank card, I was not able to reach the unemployment office, when I finally did, after 5 days, I was told it wasn't their problem and to call my congressman. Us bank finally fixed the issue and I had to pay for expedited shipping as I was a month behind on all my bills. Now my benefits have been placed on hold for a second time. Since I have been unemployed for over 3 weeks, I was required to create an account on Kansas Works, upload my resume and complete a reemployment plan. I was unable to locate the reemployment portion and assumed that loading my resume and signing up for job alerts would be enough. Well it wasn't, I finally got help through Kansas works to complete the reemployment plan and was told the unemployment office would be notified and everything should be fixed immediately, it was not fixed. I have been calling for a week straight, I call right at 8am and get the same message every morning, all representatives are helping other callers your call be disconnected. There is no other way to reach a live person, no one does their job, and quite frankly is a piss poor customer service department. People depend on these benefits and no one at the unemployment office cares about helping anyone. Please fix your staffing, your ways to communicate, and people who actually will do their job. If you are lucky to get through, they will hang up on you, or tell you they can't help and to call back - knowing good and well you won't be able to get back through. This is unacceptable! Hire qualified staff and fix your system, this is ridiculous.
Desired outcome: Hire additional staff. Provide adequate training for the staff you have. Increase your phone representatives. Provide alternate ways to reach customer service.
Call center of lack of representatives a automated joke
From July 9 - August 2, 2023 between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, I have been calling the Wichita benefits office phone number [protected] only to be automatically disconnected over and over, I have only stopped getting ready to leave to go to Oregon after I found out back in May 2023 that my mother is going to have surgery in June I found out it would be July 26th 2023. Then I didn't have a car or phone and I was getting depressed and then I got fired by Walmart because I was not known if I was getting approved to see my mother for a life-threatening surgery. The day I found out was a Saturday before Walmart fired me on Sunday July 9th 2023 due to appearing to be angry, resentful, and sad. So then allegedly multiple Associates and customers said I was cussing or appear to be violent even though it was under my breath I held my breath. I don't get how someone is not supposed to cope with what was going on with my mother and in my younger brother losing his kids who also has Crohn's and Mercer disease who also lives in Oregon. There was a lot going on I did apologize I didn't say some of the stuff they said about F Walmart but the only customers that I think I cussed at with the ones that was stealing or threatened fight me and I didn't actually say anything to them. Anyway I have not been able to get the Wichita unemployment office before I left on July 25th 2023 from Kansas to run now as I get automatically disconnected is unacceptable. I did buy another vehicle with the last bit of the money that I got especially for my PTO Walmart finally paid me and my stock but that was $1,000 and then I barely had enough for gas I had to borrow from a preacher of a church and a family friend to get to Oregon to help my mother and brother as well as to visit them until August 9th now I was going to go July 23rd to August 6th and I was getting approved for that but then they fired me and it put me behind both in time and money. I also can't seem to access the unemployment website or login cuz it says I have an account still or the social security number is associated with a user already but in my email does not seem to show up to the unemployment or to My Yahoo which I can't get a password because I have an email and a social that's already Associated but I never get the email we said that goes to Yahoo it says since successfully and it's been sent and that's why I keep calling and have been calling since July 10th or July 11th 2023.
Desired outcome: Desired outcome: Allow us to hold, and stop disconnecting us. If you need more agents please hire them. Please allow me to have a reset to my email sent and allow me to log back in or do something and get a tech.

LWAP not verified and holding up payment of benefits
From July 24 - July 28, 2023 between the hours of 8 am to 4:15 pm, I have been calling the Wichita benefits office phone number [protected] nonstop only to be automatically disconnected over and over. I need for someone to fix the error in my benefits so I can get paid. It is ridiculous that you can't even hold to get help. Being automatically disconnected is unacceptable.
Desired outcome: Allow us to hold, and stop disconnecting us. If you need more agents please hire them. Fix or please tell me how to fix the LWAP error the extended benefits is over for the pandemic, so why is it holding up my payments?

False documentation by KDOL employee causes denial in case
An employee at the dep of labor stated in my file that I said I was unemployed due to covid 19 on November 15 2019. Covid didn't hit until February the following year. I left a voicemail with the appeals office to fix it. Never received a return call. More that 3 employees stated I qualify for all 3 reasons yet I was still denied. The appeal was denied because they don't listen to what people have to say or believe what they say. I have worked since I was 15 I'm 41. People who have never worked a day in their life were approved and awarded as much as eighty thousand dollars. The reviews board lies to you to get you to quite calling by the time you find out it's all [censored] it's past your 16 day deadline to do anything

Kansas Department of Labor - unemployment claim process
I filed unemployment in December. I called the UI center to start the claim and let them know my new address. Although they started my claim, my address was not updated and I get an error every time I try to update online. I have been trying repeatedly since December. I have also called the center and the automated system hangs up on me. Due to this, I am not receiving correspondence timely. I received a request after the due date for information on my most recent employer as Kansas Unemployment is stating I gave incorrect information. I did not. I uploaded the proof, along with proof that I received the request after the due date, but was still denied as it was after the due date. I file an appeal, but am told it will be months before I get a hearing. With the appeal I included my original claim, my proof of employment/employer and proof of the delayed mail. I also included the days and repeated calls to attempt to change my address or find out any reason for the denial in the first place. The claim was due to a RIF in December. It should have been clear cut. My original call and change of address were basically ignored and the website and call center seem to be non-functional for the last two months.
Desired outcome: The DOL updates my address, processes my appeal and claims, and I receive the Unemployment payments due to me in a timely manner.
Verify issue
Tried multiple times to get past the "verify"... click on this and nothing happens. No online assistance and no one to talk to... as you call the call center and after you go through the voicemail, too busy and they hang up on you. Do you have a separate number for online assistance? What do I do now. I can't put in a claim, till I am lucky enough to get through to a live person... how horrible is this is to get laid off from your job and have to pay bills and can't file a claim when you need it...
Additionally, the number on the website for Lexus nexus is outdated and you call and it guides you back to the call center that hangs up on you because there are too many callers...
Desired outcome: Someone to call me or give me information on how to get past the "verify".
I too am in the same boat I am afraid. It has gotten so bad I have contacted the state rep for my district. And just today as we have gotten nowhere in weeks I coped in all the major new outlets. I feel like a total Karen but I literally have less than nothing now.
The one bit of advice I can give is call at 7:59 am. Don't even try earlier as it tells you they are closed. If you wait until 8 am by the time you get through all the auto prompts they are too busy and your call is disconnected. I guess having more than two employees is unheard of.
Here are the things they very likely haven't told you. You have to submit your Driver's License and SS card (I do not keep a SS card due to identity fraud so they accepted tax documents as it showed the number.) You can do this via https://uiassistance.getkansasbenefits.gov/. However, it seems to be down a large part of the time. Additionally you will have to complete a phone interview. They will not tell you when or from what number etc. This is the reason I had to get my rep involved. They contacted my step mother twice but not me.
Once those are done then you wait. And watch your gas tank get empty, watch all your bills go unpaid, watch your pantry get thinner and thinner etc. And then...wait some more. I have been attempting to get payment going on 12 weeks now.
Oh and if you do get through and are on hold take the call back option. After I finally got my phone interview I called in to check status (more on that in a moment). They called back while I was actually in an interview and I figured that was it. But they called back later in the afternoon.
They call center employees are trained to tell you, and continually repeat it until you want to scream, your claim is pending. They will tell you that is all they can tell you but if you insist they magically have answers. The first time they told me this after I asked twice if there was anything missing is when they told me to submit my DL and SS. The second time this happened I asked three times if there was anything missing (all no it is just pending) and after the third time she tells me about the phone interview. What if I hadn't pushed the issue?
Unfortuneatly, you have to speak to the call center to "verify" your identity. Hopefully, these tips will help.
And anyone reading this in the same situation I strongly recommend contacting your district's state rep. This problem has existed for 3 years, the states is aware and doing nothing and we suffer. The more that speaks out the more likely change is to happen.
Kansas pandemic unemployment assistance
It has been 2 years and I am still fighting for my benefits from the pandemic. The appeals office won't clarify exactly why I have been denied. I was self employed. However during the begining of the pandemic my car was stolen and all of my business paperwork and laptop were I'm that vehicle. I did send in affidavits of how much I made and the reason I couldn't send those documents. Then I was locked out of my account for a year. I called daily. And when I finally got through to a human I was either hung up on or fed some [censored] that was not true. Finally I discovered my email has been changed. But noone could change it back. Thensomeoen emailed me and asked me a bunch of questions and was exceedingly rude to me. After providing answees I was denied and told I was providing false information and not providing documentation. So I appealed. It has taken a year now. They tried to do a hearing over the phone. I am hard of hearing. I read lips. The referee was very rude and would not let me have someone to help me. I also had not received an appeal packet detailing what I was supposed to be doing. So I had no witnesses and no evidence. I go to Topeka in person at the end of the week. I pray to God this is resolved favorably. I reached the end of my rope 2 years ago
Abuse of power, targeting, discrimination, workplace harassment, defamation of character, slander
I work as a Safe and Security Officer at Larned State Hospital {LSH}. On September 23rd I was placed on paid administrative leave with no explanation other than there was an investigation on a possible policy violation. On September 26, 2022, {2 days later} a temporary protection from stalking {PFS} was filed by Courtney Wagner, who I had a brief relationship with. She was the administrator of Social Services for the SPTP program. I had ended the relationship/Friendship on September 10, 2022. After 2 weeks of working at LSH i was placed on administrative leave. Word that the superintendent of LSH Lisa Dipman assisted in this process along with another administrator Haliegh Bennett. Due to the lack of communication, I only had to assume that the filing of the PFS was the reasoning behind the Administrative Leave.
Per LSH policy, the "investigation" has up to 45 days to complete. There was no investigation nor was there any correspondence from HR or Lisa Dipman. Nor were there any questions asked of me. There were no efforts to keep me working or assigned to another shift while this so-called investigation was in progress. I received a letter on day 64, after I had contacted the head of HR in Topeka and heads of KOSE. The letter stated that there was no investigation, but the administrative leave would be extended and reevaluated on January 7, 2023.
Since the administrative leave went into effect, I have missed out on over $25,000 in overtime and differential pay for something that happened outside of LSH (ending of a relationship) and brought into my place of employment. by administrators.

I have never been fired before in my life until now. It could not have came at the worst timing ever when I am about to file for a divorce, just moved into my own apartment, dealing with a lost of my sister, and as of now behind on ALL of my bills; which now results me into looking for a place to live.
I have been through hell and back when dealing with the unemployment office. It has been almost 2 months and i still have not received a penny from unemployment office; not to mention how hard it is to get through to them. I've fell into depression, stress, and countless tears.
I have spent more time dealing with the unemployment office than trying to looking for the right job.
I told myself, since this was the first time I have ever been fired and given my current situation, this must be sign for me to take my time to find the perfect job that will fit my goals in life.
Long story short. I feel that either this was intentional as to why it is so hard to get unemployment is because they are trying to force their victims to work and disregarding their needs, wants, disabilities, and situations.
I do not need help finding a job that the unemployment is trying to force me to jump into. I need help finding the perfect job that I can be happy with, have a long-term relationship with, and retire from.
As you can tell, I am stressed to the max! The ONE time I need my government's help; the system as failed me😔 I know I have to do this own my own. It is just with wonders as to why people fall into depression, illness, or even suicidal thoughts (not me though.. just saying).
Online system
The emails KS DOL sends false instructions to the users. Here is the email I received when I was unable to log in:

A password reset request was made for your Kansas account. If you did not make this request, please contact your system administrator immediately.
At this time your password can only be reset by an administrator. To send them a request, go to your Sign-in Help page. Then click the Request help link.
The issue? The website sent DOES NOT have a “Request help link.”
I had Okta with my old company that was “verified” I think this is the problem. It could also be that I had a fraudulent claim made in my name in 2020, and now I am locked out of the system. But since I have no “Administrator” to contact – I do not know.
I have now been disconnected three times automatically by the phone system. I am on hold for what the recording indicates will be a minimum of 2 hours – my issue would take 30 seconds. This system is a waste of resources and time. If the system had a request help button – you could we-out tech issues from the long hold lines. I didn’t want to call anyone – I wanted to do the whole thing online (as requested by the DOL). I can’t do that if I can’t log in.
I need help getting connected so I can file a claim.
Getting laid off is emotional enough without having any way to help with technical issues. I watched the videos – followed the instructions. It should not be this complicated.
Desired outcome: Account reset for me -- for all Kansans -- correct instruction to be sent and technical link for issues.
I am entitled to peuc benefits start 10/04/20 to 03/02/21
My claim came to a complete stop all because P. Gould #197 decides to take the agency’s own initiative and disregard her own rules or laws for the state she works for, being ignorant to the rules and or laws should be consequences up to termination, because P. Gould did not comply with Kansas rules and or laws cost me shame, dept, suffering, homeless nights, family arguments, just a chaotic nightmare, the countless hours trying to get threw here hoping for a actual kdol specialist to receive my call. All the documents and paperwork to fill out send in and nobody acknowledges the documents i’m returning right back, same ones over and over, like their just playing games. For the record i’m from California even tho I did not work out of the state of Kansas, the company I was going to start a job for IEA was in Thyer, Kansas, my initial claim is from Moran, Kansas. Here’s one failed situation many eyes missed and put me in a wreck. Prior to start work in Thyer, Kansas since I came from a Hotspot in California I was unable to reach my place of employment because a health care provider has advised me to self-quarantine for 14 days due to concerns to Covid-19:

Not expecting any wages from IEA I receive a W2 from the state of Texas for $228 dollars really WOW, like you could not combine that after I am telling y’all I did not work in Texas what so ever, giving the address of IEA Project to where I was going to start employment. I have no control or knowledge as to why IEA uses Texas as their Taxes location, witch IEA should have informed me to prevent this catastrophe pain suffering migraine headaches, loss of sleep, that a W2 will be coming from Texas, then I could of told Kansas exactly that to prevent this total loss. It drew a red flag in Kansas and immediately stoped my claim after Sept. 22nd my last payment from KDOL and disregards Kansas policy does not try to contact me and fails to abide by dol. ks.gov employment policy rules and or laws witch states: “The individual may file a claim for unemployment in any state they earned money”. The state will “Combine” my wages for my claim. In Kansas, an individual with wages in another state must apply by calling our contact center-you cannot complete an application online in Kansas if your combining wages. “Individuals can only file/claim benefits in one state at a time, so if the begin in one state, their claim will remain with that state! That is straight forward not at all difficult to know or not to understand. For the record the red flag should go to IEA for doing taxes in a different state from actual address of the Project were hard working employees risk their lives. Isn’t that maybe tax invasive? So I get a letter from CSR: 775 on 03/02/2021 with out any income since my last payment on Sept. 22 2020 this notice of determination I received with no employee name, no employee number, no end date, only has a start date of 10-04-2020. In this determination letter states: “The climate is ineligible for PEUC”. “Ineligibility begins 10/04/2020”. “The climate is eligible for non-PEUC unemployment benefits in “KANSAS” or another State”. “An individual is eligible for PEUC benefits only so long as the individual is “not”eligible for any other unemployment benefits”CARES ACT No. 116-136. KDOL gave me 16 days to get a denial letter knowing i’m going to get denied, witch I was told that is what I need in order to continue my claim where they left off to continue filling out claim forms. I was to contact Texas Work Force to file a clame back date to 10/04/2020 is the new document name for this whole circus act. Document 10/04/2020 are wages from Kansas of only $228 that qualify for a new claim in Texas. WOW Amazing imagine CSR: 775 if that was all any one needed to qualify for unemployment insurance benefits in the U.S. If you can’t do your job now, absolutely no way could you keep up with all the qualifiers of $228 dollars hard working citizens applying for unemployment especially in a plandemic! This Determination also established an overpayment for the weeks of 10/10/2020 threw 11/21/2020 total overpayment is $3416! Absolutely absurd REMEMBER why the back date is 10/04/2020 is because CSR:775 made me ineligible stoped my claim cut me off beginning 10/04/2020 the new document name! I received NO Payment from KDOL after Sept. 23rd my last payment ever received! For the record I never received any payment from KDOL after 10/04/2020. P. Gould CSR:197 has only benefits type CWC a completion date of 05/04/2021 call center coments from P. Gould claim filed online eff 04/25/21 KS wages transferred to TX for a 10/04/2020 Claim. Is that the new document name for $228 dollar qualifiers for unemployment witch is the 10/04/2020 claim - called TX via? and their had been some issues with Texas claim. with TX - figured out the claimant should be filing in TX for a 10/04/2020 claim. Really.
advised TX? somebody did that the claimant had been on PEUC in Kansas but should have been filing in TX eff 10/04/2020 an opal was set up for weeks claimed after 10/04/2020.?

Gould took her own initiative and simply with out any research or concern as to why or how these wages from Kansas got to be claimed in Texas just figured or guessed that since the company I was about to start for is based out of Texas then simply no worries the Texas wages are mine. The company is not even based in Texas that is false information straight ignorance or lack of knowledge to ask for help seek appropriate guidance for the correct legitimate honest rules and laws for such situations to be handled in the correct professional manner investigation could potentially lead into something bigger. I’m not the professional in unemployment industry but this was very poorly handled since I overturned this decision with my appeal 3 times maybe 4 but 3 time this same timely appeal and over payment got reversed 3 times it never advanced to the money part where I presented the Denial Letter from Texas confirming I did not qualify for unemployment benefits in Texas their for since I did not qualify in Texas climate is eligible for PEUC benifits since climate exhausted regular unemployment benefits beginning 10/04/2020 ending 03/02/2021. The appeal reversals can reverse the other qualifying entitlements via Bar Inquiries

Still waiting 2 1/2 years later for pua
Like many others I was denied at first for a question I misunderstood so I appealed and won but someone tried to claim unemployment using my social but had wrong email. In May of this year the fraud department called me asked a few easy questions and said pua team would call but no time limit was on that well it's oct now they won't return an email follow up with me and every department there says they don't know why . Just who over looks the agency and their conduct and what they are neglected in all this. Does someone have an answer? I noticed that 86 complaints have been made not one of them addressed resolved or even read so why put up a web site just to do nothing? This is like they hope we will get tired of trying and then they will not have to pay out any money, maybe it's because so many millions were lost to real fraud and now they don't want to pay the ones they still owe, president Biden said that this aid was put there to help us yet some of us it didn't help it crippled and put us even worse in debt is there anyone that can look into all this ?

I have applied for unemployment twice. once in 2020 in which i have yet to receive any of those funds paid out. i also just recently applied showing proof of termination and was denied i need to speak with some one about the funds that i have worked hard over the years to have in these cases only for some one else to determine when and how i receive them. i have called and emailed your contact center and have been giving the run around some where there is money that belongs to be as well as retaliation against me for speaking out about an employee and here we are still being given the run around. I am not sure who to contact after this but i would assume it would be news broadcasters as well as the state of Kansas you guys have gotten to comfortable controlling and dictating peoples lively hoods from the comfort of your own homes there are some of us who do not have those benefits. 9/23 i will be contacting the next person above you all to figure somethings out. this is unfair and total power hungry moves being made. between kdol and employers.

Pua unemployment
I won my appeal hearing only to get a flag for claim was labeled as pua fraud now I I'm waiting again to address what I already won and had reversed this government agency is a complete joke the fact that they cant look at the issue and even explain how this is possible or what the actual issue for the new graud claim I'm pissed because I've sold lost and suffered tremendously for something I've paid for and deserve never asked for or recieved unemployment in the 30 years I've worked and paid out the [censored] in taxes. Need to vote all the government out

I had a fraud flag on my account that I verified I was the correct person applying through the sheriffs department by sending my legal documents for over 19 months I still have not received unemployment because I still have a flashlight on my account after I do everything they tell me to do every single time I call every day for the last 19 months I am still without unemployment and struggling

PUA not received
Unemployment filed during pandemic from Dec 2020 to Sept 2021. I filed every week for qualifying amount of $192.00 per week filed. It is still unresolved and they have still posted on their website that my claim is "on hold temporarily." I have called umpteen million times and their customer service agent know nothing or won't say other than their is a "hold temporarily". How long is temporarily and what is the problem I have asked multiple million times. Only to get an answer of they have no clue and it has to go through the proper channels. The proper channels have not resolved this and I have answered multiple questions at various times from phone calls from their office. This still remains unpaid. I would like to get an answer. Their website also says "letter of determination will be sent". I have not ever received a "letter of determination".
Desired outcome: Payment of PUA during Dec 2020 up to Sept 2021 of $192 a week.
New Boss from Burlington
New boss from Burlington dairy queen just purchased the dairy queen in Garnett, KS. I have worked at the dairy queen in Garnett for 14 years now and have had 4 different bosses and it just sold in June to Lubna Sodogar. This has been the worst experience ever. She doesn't know how DQ standards are supposed to be. We have never had issues with getting supplies until she took over. She said it was because they have put caps on what they can order which isn't true due to previous owner not having this issue. One day the store ran out of ice cream due to her not ordering them. She took the gift cards away so we can't sell or accept them for payment. On June 27th she posted a note about break times stating the day shift gets 15 minutes and the night shift only gets 10 minutes. This is not even fair and it states if you work more than 4 hours by law you get a 15 minute break. She is not offering overtime but she has an 18 year old that is working 52 hours in 4 days and doesn't count the other 2 days she works. This girl doesn't clock in and seems fishy to me that the boss is paying her under the table to avoid paying taxes. Also on the posted schedule she wrote that if you don't work a minimum of 4 working days she was going to dock your pay. This would only be allowed if she had each employee sign a form stating they are ok with it and she never did. When the new boss took over she asked at that time our general manager to lie on what she was figuring up on the reports and to make smaller numbers so she wouldn't have to pay in as much on taxes. The new boss also told employees that if they don't upsell she was going to readjust their pay which she can't do as no employee signed a form when she took over. Plus the new boss doesn't have building sprayed and there is always cockroaches coming out. There is a lot of fishy things going on and want somebody to check it out.
Desired outcome: I would to have her investigated for fraudulent activity.
