A very odd incident and request from manager of KFC and a dumb reaction on my part:
Yesterday, 11/10/19 I ordered the 2 for $6 pot pies at the drive thru. Got to the pick up window and ready to pay when the manager said he remembered the Thurs before I ordered the same but my debit card was declined. I had no idea about this except that I was there that day but received my order and my card was returned to me so I drive on. The manager said he had the customer behind me honk to get my attention and he said I paused - of course I paused, I was at the exit checking for traffic before turning onto the road. I did not notice honking but if I had I would not have thought it was for me. It is a fairly busy area. I was going to pay cash but then, after telling him there should be no problem with my card as I have been using it I said to use it for current order just to see if works. It did. He handed card back bur kept talking about how he had the person behind me gink because my card was rejected three days ago so I finally said, (I did NOT offer, just stated) "well, what? Di you want me to pay for it now or something?". He said yes which was surprising coming from a manager about a three day old interaction where it was his word against mine. I, being a nice person but extremely naive, went ahead, gave him my card again and was charged another $6 for something I had no clue about from 3 days earlier. After thinking about it, I shouldn't have done this and I am very upset that he would do this. He could be telling the truth but he also could have forgotten his wallet that dat and needed six bucks for gas. I thought you should know that this is something a manager should have, at the most, just let me, the customer know but never should have expected payment 3 days after the so called fact. I used to like this manager but now I don't want to go back which is nor a good thing since it is the nearest KFC for miles.
I do have the two receipts from the 10th, one being for the 7th.
