My daughter and I traveled to South Carolina to visit my sister for the last time. We spent a day and night in Charleston to see the sights. I thought I'd booked a room at the Riverview La Quinta Inn, and would see the harbor and boats and water and city. No. We were sent to a room in the OLD part of the hotel, and it was HORRIBLE. There was an elevator that never came. There was a banister next to a set of stairs that was completely detached from its foundation. It was DANGEROUS. The room itself was very small, had no refrigerator, no microwave, the television remote and television was basically broken. The room was so small that we had to walk sideways to get to the bathroom. The BEDS were terrible. The bed I slept in was so broken-down that I hit the board under the mattress. The other was slightly better, but not much. There was NO HOUSE PHONE. We asked to be switched to a better room, and were told that even though I'd booked several weeks ago, there were no rooms in the NICE hotel available. Of course, the most "wonderful" thing was the view. While I'd expected water and boats and the city for my $204.60, what we GOT was a lovely view of the DUMPSTERS. There was no view. None. And we had BUGS on the bureau. PLUS, we had to PAY for overnight parking...as a guest of the hotel. I am OUTRAGED!
I am so dreadfully disappointed that this supposedly great time in Charleston was basically destroyed by this horrible experience.
Desired outcome: I want my money back. I spent $204.60 on a horrible experience.
