Les Schwab Tire Center crappy tires

If you need any tires go to Midas never go to Les Schwab! I bought a brand new tire from my Schwab. It kept going low and I went back five or six times telling him that and each time they had a stupid reason which I believed and then I took it in to Midas and they saw my tire and it was almost flat they took it off the wheel and they said if I would've put air in it one more time it probably would've exploded on me Les Schwab gave me $20 off a new tire and guess what the tires kept going low again. I went to Midas and they looked at my tire and said you need at noon valve ste I went to Midas and they looked at my tire and said you need A new valve stem. Fixed my car and it is perfectly fine now. Mitis knows more about cars and tires then let Schwab does by far! A new valve stem. Fixed my car and it is perfectly fine now. Mitis knows more about cars and tires then let Schwab does by far!

Les Schwab Tire Center employee

The customer service lady, Sherry here at the brookings or location is not fit to be in this position. She isn't friendly, interrupts, talks over people, doesn't smile & worst of all walks away when customer is still talking. I'm a restaurant manager & have been in customer service for over 20yrs & that's definitely not the way to handle any customer. I dread coming here each time knowing she will be here. Someone needs to address this issue, at least talk to her.

Les Schwab Tire Center tires

Puyallup Store on Meridian.
5/4/2017-Purchased 2 front tires. (tires = $209; total cost of purchase $702.21)
5/5/2017 - Front right tire blew out going 60 mph on the freeway. I thought I was going to die! Replaced by Les Schwab.
Mileage on car at that time=67, 939

Took car in for routine maintenance to Toyota of Puyallup on River Road~ 2/22/2018, Mileage 77, 262.
Told I was close to needing new front tires (must do @ 3/32)-front tires tread depth 4/32 (& much older rear tires 7/32, so pretty ridiculous).

This should not be possible. This is completely unsafe & unacceptable.

Admittedly you're putting some pretty heavy use on the vehicle. Many factors contribute to tread use. It would be a good recommendation to have the vehicle checked out before the next tire replacement.

What brand of tires did you purchase last year?

Les Schwab Tire Center incompetent workmanship - dismal customer service

This company is pathetic. Bought 4 new tires with a front end alignment (even though the car drove straight with old tires) 6 mos ago. Big mistake. When I left their shop the car started pulling left. Took it back & they refused to even check it and said the front end was within spec. BALONEY. This car has always driven straight after every alignment. Decided then & there never to do business with them again. But wait, it gets better.

A week ago one of the tires lost 10psi pressure (I frequently check my tires). I found a nail in the tread and took it back for their free repair warranty. When I got the car back home I decided to inspect it for myself. And guess what, the [censor] at Schwab had cross-threaded one of the lug nuts when he gunned it on which made it impossible for me to remove, so back to the shop again. Of course the bird-brain service guy denied doing it, the schmuck. He did however replace the stripped stud & lug for nothing. So now my tire problems were over, so I thought. Boy was I wrong.

Two days later I stopped at an out-of-town gas station and happened to notice the repaired tire looked low on air. I checked it with my gauge and sure enough it was 20 psi low. I figured that either the Schwab guy did a shoddy patch job or I had picked up another nail. I took it to the local Schwab dealer there and they actually admitted that the leak was caused by a poor repair job. Swell…

Not once during any of these instances did they admit their errors or even apologize. Like I said, this company is just pathetic.

Les Schwab Tire Center brakes

So what does it take to have my truck brakes done proper.

I will only respond with you thru email only.

McMinnville store refuse to service my brakes per store Mgr Jolb. Is this acceptable?

Had my truck brakes are making uneven sounds when braking. Also pulling to the right.

I am demanding service. I can leave town for the holidays because I don't feel safe. The drum that the McMinnville store is not even the same. Drum now has grooves as the brake pad doesn't align with drum.

I will not accept this brake job and except the services to be done.

Can't go home for the holiday that special.

Les Schwab Tire Center I think they forgot me

I went in to get my tires rotated today. normally something you don't end up waiting too long certainly not three hours like I had. I'm pretty sure people that had come in after I was getting serviced before me. I was furious I didn't say anything there cause well I don't think any of the employees cared. I got a sorry but that was it no explanation. they didn't even ask me any questions like they carried like how long I was actually waiting. i heard a customer come in after me they told her 45 min i was well past that.

Les Schwab Tire Center damaging the air sensors on the car and denying it

Yes, you can definitely reuse your factory installed tire pressure monitoring sensors.Sensors are fragile and can be easily damaged, so please be sure to exercise caution when removing the sensors from your wheels.

Any kind of damage to the sensor or the valve stem may require the entire unit to be replaced.

Mark the manager says I have to replace with my cost of repair, when I just started having problems after new wheels installed with the sensors .Mark had an employee re calibrate the sensors with car mainframe chip batteries are good so sensor is bad, I believe the store should make good what they damaged in good faith.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Preferred solution: fix what all they broke, thats fair I think, on their dime or value of my time and repair loss your choice. .

I didn't like: Damaging the air sensors on the car and dening it.

Les Schwab Tire Center 3 out of 4 tires ready to blowout

I have been a loyal customer with Les Schwab since 1980.

On [protected] at 9:25 am I went into Les Schwab in Airway Heights, WA to discuss a concern re: 3 out of my 4 tires were about to blowout at the same time. A few days prior had my car serviced at a reputable mechanic, who warned me the steering wheel vibration was due to 3 of the 4 tires were separating.

I made numerous attempts to discuss the matter with the man behind the counter. I found the man to be totally rude, disrespectful and discriminatory. He repeatedly cut off and talked over. The only thing he allowed me to say was "three out of my four tires were ready to blowout." I never was permitted to finish a sentence nor ask my original question..."Can you please take the tires off the rims and not charge me?" He was too focused on selling me tires!

I left exasperated and frustrated by the lack of respect. He also criticized my intelligence and my mechanics. His last words were, "Let me know when we can sell you tires." My thought... "Not from you!"

I will say this, when Sandy is working the counter, she is a dynamic, thoughtful, courteous and she listens.

Les Schwab Tire Center tpms sensors

On Saturday 10/14/2017 I took my Saab 9-7x into the Les Schwab dealer in Ritzville, WA to have my Summer tires & rims taken off and to have the old snow tires removed from my Winter rims the put on 4 other studless snow tires mounted on the rims. Since the Saab has a TPMS system I brought in a set of Rebuild TPMS Service Pack Kits to install. They did a good job of mounting and balancing but on the way home I noticed that the tire pressures varied from 39, 37, 35 & 32. When I got home I noticed that not only had then not put on the new TPMS sensor caps; which have seals in them, they also had not torqued the nuts on the valve stem properly. Two wheels were within 5 inch lbs but the other two were a full 360° furn with the torque wrench off! I called the store to ask them to locate the caps and send them to me since I did not want to drive 56 miles round trip to pick them up. It's now been over a week and I've not received them. I just order more caps online. My real point is: their service techs need more training on TPMS systems. I also was going to purchase new summer tires there in the Spring, but that's not going to happen now.

Les Schwab Tire Center customer service is horrible

After almost 17yrs as a customer I AM DONE. My mom took my wifes car to get a spin & rotate. Due to an alignment issue a front tire was too worn to be serviced. 4 new tires were needed (AWD SUV).
They took the car home and notified my wife of the tire choices.
Options were for tires & alignment at either (apprx) $650 or $1200 and my wife told my parents to get the good tires.
They got the car back to the dealer just before closing and indicated my wife needed to pick up the car around 10am.
I find out about all this late in the evening and stop at the dealer on the way home (they are closed and it was after 8pm) and drop a note through the door to not install ANY tires until they contact me because that was not the tire option we wanted.
Not sure when they opened but never got a call. Called them at 8:44am and talked to Jack. He said he already put the tires on because they were told to get the car ready for morning pickup (I had not been told she had requested to have it done early, OK my bad)...
Well, OK if you were supposed to get it done early & you already have the tires on then finish it up so she can pick it up as requested.

I get a call that afternoon from Jack that the car is ready. WTH?
Why wasn't it done that morning like they promised?
Jack said that he had to wait and talk to me because of the note I left so they didn't have time to finish it that morning. Then he adds that he called me at 7:15am that morning and left me a voicemail.
I verified they had the correct number (my cell phone). I verified on my cell that there was NO missed call and NO voicemail. Logged into my cell account online and checked... First call that day was ME calling them.

I explained I did not want those tires, I in fact hadn't wanted to buy tires this week and would have only got the cheaper option. The ONLY reason I had said to go ahead was to have the car ready on time!
Jack states that since they already mounted the new tires, if I make any changes they are going to charge for the mount/unmount. Even if I bought the other tire option they are going to hit me with mount/unmount fees.

The fact that they FAILED to have the car ready as promised is irrelevant. REALLY?
And they lied about contacting me but used that as the excuse to not have it done on time.
Now I'm pissed.
I don't want to EVER spend money at Les Schwab again.
I told them they can keep their tires, put the originals back on and don't even bother to balance because it's going to ANY other company for new tires.
The hundred dollars for alignment I understand.
The additional $200 for mounting/remounting was just another slap in the face.

They failed to have the car ready as promised, blamed it on me and LIED about calling me (I pulled my t-moble phone records that PROVE he didn't call!) and then screws us out of $200 to NOT sell us tires.
Congratulations, your company just lost our entire families business. A bit of customer service could have gone a long way here but they had ZERO interest in working with us.

Les Schwab Tire Center customer service by both manager les, and employee justin, at store 392 in ferndale, wa.

In Nov. 2016 I went in for an inspection on my vechile Customer ID [protected] left with a quote of several things that needed to be done. In Dec. 2017 I had mechanic friend of mine replace the UP/LWR ball joints and passenger side CV axel and driveshaft.
In May 2017 I returned to Les Schwab store 392 work order # [protected] for an alignment at which time i had told them about replacing the ball joints and cv axle. They told me I needed to take it and get my steering wheel removed and put back on because it was not straight, they did not do that, and my tie rods were end are adjusted all the way in (which i still have know idea what that means) also gave me another piece of paper with a lot of negitive numbers on it and never showed, nor explained it to me).
I took the vechile to a shop on 5/31/17 to have the steering wheel straightened at which time I recieved a phone call telling me that I should NOT be diving this vechile, my ball joint is very bad and could fall out at anytime. Well not understanding why it could be bad after just having it replaced in Dec. I called Les Schwab and asked about an inspection, explained what they had said about steering wheel, then what had happened, they said "sure no problem bring it in" on 6/3/17 I brought it in specifically asked Les to please check that ball joint, i didn't understand why this shop was telling me is was bad, especially after it was just replaced, he told me "sure, no problem" explained to the Manager Les work order [protected] they even had me return home to get the key to remove my lug nuts. When I returned to pick up my vechile they told me Both front tires are at 3-4/32. an should be replaced soon. Sent me on my way, so I figured ya know I trusted in Les Schwab I was fine then. Well that was by far NOT the case, I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph when my car jumped off to the left so hard I almost sent another car into the median, if I was a less experienced driver I could have not only severely hurt, if not killed myself, my 7 year daughter, and others on the freeway.
I parked the vechile, had it towed to a family members house close by, on 6/5/17 I took it to a different tire shop which also did a free inspection, who did not even remove my wheels, ALSO told me DO NOT be driving this vechile ESPECIALLY at high speeds! Your your your left front steering knuckle is bad and your ball joint is just banging around in there.
Now I understand people can make mistakes, my MAJOR PROBLEM is besides the fact I specifically asked the Manager to check that, was the was I was first, treated by the employee I went in to get an explanation as to why this happened, who basically passed the buck as to why i didnt have the person who did the work on it alignment and do inspection on it, to he wasn't the one who looked at it an so on, to on my way out the door a VERY condescending " you have a nice night maam" That was employee Justin.
So I returned Monday to speak with tbe manager Les, in which I basically recieved the same kind of treatment, "If I didn't trust them to do the work why did I bring it to them for alignment and inspection", I informed him, it had Nothing to do with not trusting them to do the work, It was Christmas time I am a single Mother if 2 kids and the work really needed done, I really didn't have much choice. So I asked him, basically because I didn't have the work done here you don't do alignments or inspections? "He said no we do" so I am still not understanding why or what that was even said for. Then he said it didn't show when they tested it, but yet two other people saw it, whick the first shop was only doing a steering wheel job NOT even looking for that, after I asked for him to.? Both employees had No answers for me, but to pass the buck, be rude, condescending.
So I called Headquaters in which was very thrown off, didnt even get a name because obviously he had gotten a heads up from Les because he already knew my invoice # and my name in which I never gave him either. In which I am very sorry about that because I feel as if I was brushed off by him also, by him knowing that information, obviously he had already spoken with Les to get it, but told me he was sorry and would call and have a talk with him.
I am Soooo unhappy with not only tbe fact of them putting lives in danger for their carelessness, but the disregarding way I was treated by soooo many of your employees after the fact.

Les Schwab Tire Center tires and rims

I got rid of the 16" studs/rims for the baja because les schwab looked in their book and said they would not fit. Outback has 17". So when I needed to buy them (17" a week later) they said they were a special order but the 16" may fit. So they sold me a complete new set up. The head office called back and said too bad, so sad. . That's a $1k loss for me. We dont do the right thing... Deceptive advertising.

Les Schwab Tire Center negligent workmanship / unsafe practices

Date: 9/9/16

Extremely poor customer service and workmanship. They did not tighten my lug nuts on one wheel and I drive away and my car was shuddering and shaking and clunking. Felt like my tire was going to fall off. Was really scary. When I told them about it, they just said, "these things sometimes happen".. I asked if they had procedures in place to check that the wheels are fastened correctly before sending them out to customers to drive away and he said "yes but no matter how many times we check, these things can just happen". I called national head quarters to report my experience and they said that it should never happen. I did not get an apology or anything...

The guy at this location told me I'm one of the lucky ones who was smart enough to bring it back when I noticed something wrong... Well OFCOURSE! It felt like my front tire was about to fall off my car! He told me I was lucky haha he's the one who is lucky that nothing bad happened and that no damage was done. If it did, it would be on him. Negligent and careless and seemingly didn't give a crap...

Offered me a wheel alignment to resolve the issue after receiving a call from head quarters. You really think I would trust them to align my wheels after this incident? No thanks!

I would have accepted a refund for that particular tire that they completely screwed up on and put my life in jeopardy... But they wouldn't even own the mistake let alone offer me a partial refund. They offered me a wheel alignment... That's it!

On top of all that, left me sitting in waiting room for an hour when my car was done without even calling my name once... 6pm closing time came around and then they were like... Ummm I thought we had all the cars accounted for. Thanks for wasting an hour of my time and almost killing me with a loose lug nut.

Les Schwab Tire Center incompetence

I've lived on the west coast now for fifteen years, this is my only experience with Les Schwab. I have experience changing brakes, and even bearings on previous vehicles, but I'm older now, so I decided to bring it to a shop for repair. My wife's 1998 Ford Windstar has approx. 164, 000 miles on it, the brakes have 21, 000 miles, and the Bridgestone tires have 20, 000 miles usage. My car had a broken front right brake pad, I could see some damage to the brake disk, and sometimes there was the sound of metal scraping when turning right. I let my son bring the car to the shop. They gave him a quote of approx, $420.00 for front brake repair, I guess before they even looked at the car. After inspection, they increased the quote to about $490.00 because they said the Brake discs (rotors) need replacement. My son notified me of the change, I disagreed, took time off work and drove to the shop. I rebuked the mechanic's descision armed with information about the brake history. He recanted, and they agreed to turn the rotors. Later the mechanic informed me that the right, bearing was damaged (worn), I was satisfied with that and agreed to have the right bearing changed too. I thought both bearings should be changed but he said that only the one bearing needed changing. OK ? They are the experts right ? My wife went in the next day, paid the bill and brought the car home. The second day the junior manager calls and informed us that we were over charged, for the installment of two bearings (L, R) and that our credit card would be reimbursed. OK. We had the car for about 4 days, my wife drove it a couple of times to the store; then I needed the car for a 60 mile road trip; that's when I noticed the car was pulling to the right. Not drifting over 100 or 200 yards... pulling 20, 30 yards pulled right into the curb. I had to hold (pull) on the steering wheel to keep the car going straight. Appearently my wife wasn't aware that there was a problem. I postponed my trip and brought the car back to Les Schwab, I told the junior manager (Mike) about the problem. Instead of considering that problem could have something to do with the recent repair, he was quick to point out that there must be something else wrong with the car. And in a round about way he supposed that we did something to the car in those four days, I quickly disputed that... my wife is a careful driver and has never damaged a car in thirty years. She had only driven the car a couple of times to the local store. The same mechanic worked on the car again, he started rotating the tires, drove it, rotated the tires again drove it again..He told me one of the tires was bad, he rotated the tires again, and again, criss cross, front to back, left to right... and the car still pulled to the right. He told me stories of customers who had 2 bad tires and another that had three bad tires. I started to wonder about ths guys creditibility. I took the car that night, and brought it back the next day. They kept the car the whole day. I told this to the Sr. manager (Cam). He backed up his mechanic saying it could be the tires. I suggested that they look at their work they did, but if he still believed it was a bad tire, I told him to put 2 new tires on the front. By closing time the junior manager called. He said the car was driving straight, he drove it himself, (in the sloped parking lot). Then he told me that I probably wouldn't like the solution to the problem... they turned one of the tires from inside to outside. They took a tire off the rim and put the white wall on the outside. He said "the one tire is different than the other tires." Made differently. I didn't say anything. I thanked him and that's the last time I talked to any of them. But I was thinking... What ? 4 Bridgestone tires ? Bought and mounted at the same time by Sears. All four tires have the same markings. I wonder what Bridgestone would say about that. And what about before Les Schwab worked on the car, it wasn't pulling then. And worst of all this company's business is selling tires. Do they tell their customers that some name brand tires could cause problems because they might not all be manufactured the same. And this coming from a manager. I wonder what other Les Schwab franchise owners would say about this ? The car still pulls to the right. The things that these guys are claiming is ridiculous. I will never return to Les Schwab. I will find a credible mechanic through references to resolve this problem.

Les Schwab Tire Center tire replacement

Caution. This morning a young man met me before I hit the door to check me in as they always do. They were swapping my studded snow tires off for standard tires on wheels. They never charge for this service and I have been bringing my car here for years for the quick turn around. Maximum wait of 30 minutes and as fast as 10 minutes. I know I need to get tires this fall and was looking at options on the rack. The young man that met me approached me with 4 options, I did not even ask him to do it and he stated, "I noticed your tires are getting close so here are some options to consider when you are ready", He explained each one and I told him I would do it later. He said okay and walked off. A senior employee asked him what I decided and the young man advised I was not going to replace them today. 5 minutes pass and the young man is back and this time stating that unfortunately they cannot put the standard tires back on the car because senior employees stated I should buy new tires instead. Wow, if my tires were that bad, I think I would have heard that statement the first time he came out right. Integrity in automotive services has always been questionable and I get taking care of your customers and taking the time to look at it from a safety perspective but this was not the case today. The senior employee that made the decisions this morning knows what he does and I seen him approach another customer in the waiting area with a, "you might want us to do this today and when the customer stated no thank you, you could see he was not pleased. I would not question their integrity if it was not for the FACT that only after I said "NO" and minutes to discuss their approach did they arrive with we cant put the standard tires on your car. They just took off those tires a month ago and said nothing about replacing them. These tire are not to the point they need to be replaced right now. They will make it through the summer just fine and be replaced in the fall. I explained to the young man outside away from the other customers that I have been coming to Les Schwab in Tumwater for years now and unfortunately today was the last day at the Tumwater store and that it was not because of him because his service was exceptional. It was those that unfortunately are mentoring him and sadly some people would just belly over and that is why the senior staff continue this methodology. I will drive into Olympia for business to get the work done before I return to that store front. Managers, if you really care you will hopefully adjust this behavior and for the public, get a second opinion, take pictures, and be cautions of the strategies used by some, not all to gain your business. This will be shared up the chain of command not just here.
