Inappropriate behavior by customer service personnel
Back in July of 2011, I received a premium renewal notice, which by the way this insurance company raised my premiums for no apparent reason. I called the local office in Albuquerque, NM and spoke with a representative and asked why my premium was raised on my renters insurance policy and they said that there was a rate increase. I expressed my frustration with that, due to the fact that I have not filed any claims with this company since I started the policy back in August of 2010. I said that I was going to be leaving Liberty Mutual due to this rate increase on my premium, and look for insurance elsewhere. I continued to get cancellation notices in August, September, October and I called the office to tell them that I didn't want their insurance anymore and told them to cancel the policy immediately, and to STOP sending me cancellation notices. Today, November 7, 2011 I received a cancellation notice from them and a bill asking me to pay $27.00 for insurance that they provided me, which I never WANTED! This problem happened simply because of negligence on an insurance agent in the Albuquerque office WHO DID NOT document my request to cancel the insurance. I called into the Albuquerque office today 11/7/11 and asked to speak to a manager about this bill I received today. I was connected to a Don Dish, a manager who was very uncooperative and uncaring with my concerns over the bill I received. I've explained to him that I contacted the office in the summer and informed them that I was going to look for insurance elsewhere due to the rate increase on my premium, and contacted the office again after receiving numerous cancellation notices and called in and spoke with a representative FIRMLY about cancelling the insurance policy. This was NEVER DONE upon my request, and this employee didn't document my phone call with this request that I had asked of them! I told this Mr. Dish that I want this looked into and investigated and he simply DID NOT comply with my request to do this! I've expressed to him that their company is just as guilty and negligent in business practices just like their fellow corrupt corporate banks in America, that are so greedy and informed him that I am part of the 99% movement, and told him that I was not going to TOLERATE this type of treatment from them. He sarcastic replied and denied being like the greedy corporate banks, and said that the company is run by stockholders and kept ranting on and on about how their insurance company is not like the banks. He also preached to me about how much claims they pay out with the little amount of premiums that they take in from policy holders and repeatedly asked me if I wanted to know how this process works, and i angrily said that I didn't care and simply wanted my problem looked into and he totally ignored me and started to chuckle at me, because of my comments with the 99% movement and made funny remarks about the movement, which was very unprofessional on his part being a manager of an insurance office! I told him if this problem is not going to be remedied that I would be filing a complaint with the BBB, the Insurance Commissioners Office and he rudely told me to go right ahead and do that! At the end of the conversation he said he was going to terminate the call, and I simply hung up on him because of his arrogant behavior.
Claim service
I had a workman compensation case handled by Liberty Mutual several years ago. At the end, my doctor told me I am going to have a small disability payment from the insurance company as the doctor said I had a 10% disability in one of my arms. I received the necessary forms from Liberty Mutual and filled them out and sent them in to receive my disability compensation. Its all down hill after that. It took a year to finally receive my compensation. First Liberty Mutual lost my file as the woman processing the file left the company. That took over 3 months to get straightened out. Liberty Mutual didn't contact me, I had to bring it to their attention. You would think that Liberty Mutual would insure that the work transferred from the first employee to her replacement. Not Liberty Mutual. Next I was sent the papers to fill out once again. I refilled the papers out, signed where the forms had a signature line and sent back in a matter of a few days.
4 weeks go by and nothing. I called LM (liberty mutual) and once again got a run around from my new case worker. I didn't sign the form correctly. I told them I signed all signature lines and then LM told me I had older forms (which LM sent me in the first place). LM said they will send me a new set of forms. Weeks went by with no new forms so I called up. LM said they will send the forms again. Three to four weeks later the "new" LM forms came. Guess what, the dates on the form were older than the original forms. So I filled out the new forms and sent them in. Six weeks go by and no payment. I called up and spoke to a supervisor. They said I didn't sign all the forms again. Didn't have the courtesy to send me a reason why. I went through page by page with the supervisor. What it turned out is that LM requires you sign every page, whether there is a signature line or not. LM NEVER told me that. I signed each page, front and back and sent it back, certified mail, return receipt requested. Finally after a year of this ###, I received my compensation. Don't believe LM advertisements, they won't take care of you and do the correct thing for you. If you have claim money coming from LM, sign each and every sheet in the front and back. I will never, ever do business with LM again. They are a bunch of lying turkeys and they suck big time.

Over ruled my doctors
Liberty Mutual took it upon their self to close out my short term disability when my doctor told them that I was to be out 3 months after having surgery on May 18th 2011, I had a pacemaker redone and I was not put to sleep and I felt the whole thing. They closed my claim out on June 24 th and I did not get a check until July 15th and had to beg for that. The surgeon told me to follow up with Dr. Ellis Malone which is my primary Doctors office for follow up visits and they would determine when I could go back which they had set the date for August 24th. I have appealed it and my Doctor left a message for Dan to give him a call because they are playing God and The surgeon knows my health history. They were so rude when I called and was not helping me at all. They are ridiculous and they still owe me a check from June 25th to July 26th because I started back to work on July 26th because I had already lost one vehicle and could not take the chance of losing anything else. I work for Comcast and ended up calling Hr in order to finally get myself at least one check. I am so fed up with them that I am thinking of suing them. I have already consulted an attorney and he said I had a good case against them either they pay me or I will sue and it will be more than what they owe me. my claim number was 1986921
Short term disability
November 2010 I went to ER due to being real sick and found out I had pneumonia and myocarditis. I was off work for a month and had no issues with Liberty Mutual. February 1st I was having chest pains, shortness of breathe, couldn’t get my legs warm and slept more than usual. Since I am still paying on the last trip to ER I called and was able to see my cardio doctor in 2 days. I waited mostly to save money and after seeing him he wrote me a note to not return to work till I had tests ran. I had a stress test, echo, EKG and labs. It took 3 1/2 weeks to schedule/ complete and when the test came back it showed my heart was fine. Now my employer would not let me return till I had doctor’s letter stating I was able to return to work. So when I returned Liberty Mutual denied my claim stating that my restrictions did not warrant not being at work. Of course the letter stated that my doctor did not return all needed info as requested. I am appealing this and I wonder if anyone had any suggestions etc… ? I am married with 3 kids and I am missing 3 checks which we can’t be without. I am lost, sad, frustrated and I don’t know what to do.

I have been on short term disability since Feb of 2011 my knee started bothering me and i went to the dr he took me out of work till tests came back. They found i needed therapy and so forth well finally in april i had surgery on my knee and still unable to return to work yet. I have had nothing but problems with them im not getting my checks on time today i sit here and i am 3 weeks behind on my checks my needs inspected and my rent is due and i call them to talk to someone higher up and they refused to let me talk to anyone. They are blamming it on my dr for not reicieving my records but i know for a fact that my dr sent them to them i have proof. Also, When i need to talk to my case worker she is always on vacation or out of the office hmmm.. go figure. I told them they cant reach me until after 4 well they are closed around 4 or 5. so i told them i give permission for them to call my mom and give them the info they said they cant because i need to sign a written agreement or a verbal agreement. I said i just gave u verbal permission on the phone duh! Well she said that dont count. So anyways, this company is threw my work soo i have no choice but to go threw them. I am suppose to be relaxed and letting my knee heel but it can not heal propery if im under all this stress. I need some advice i was about to call BBB on them.
Why are we offered short term disability when Liberty Mutual denies most of our claims? I have been battling two autoimmune diseases and Fibromyalgia for over two years and have finally come to the point where i cannot work any longer. They approved my first claim, but denied my second after i tried to go back to work and only worked two days. I'm out for the exact same thing as before, but to them i am not disabled. I have chronic low back pain, joint pain, headaches, neuropathy in limbs, face and head. I have debilitating fatigue. Their nurse has decided im not disabled enough to receive short term disability benefits. That's very funny because the law firm im dealing with says i have enough to file for social security disability. What gives them the right to make a decision without even seeing us? They receive our medical records and yet they believe they know more than a doctor. Where did they find these so called nurses?
yes, i have received short term disability and did all what they said for me to do and still they told me that i owed an overpayment. i don't think that i'm the only one to be blamed for this. I've turned over all the information they asked. Now liberty mutual is going to turn over my overpayment to a collection agency and ruin my credit. What can people do in this situation. They blame everybody else but them. Seems like they are perfect.
Poor and slow care
I was injured on my job and shattered my foot bone and hurt my lower back. This happened oct 1st 2010. I saw a doctor the company I work for sent me too. I thought he was really good. He reffered me to a speacialist in st. Louis who I think showed compasion and concern as well as the case manager assigned to the foot injury. Now the same doctor was trying to send me to a specialist as well for my lower back this took weeks and several phone calls from me to try to get help. Finally I received a call from the case manager for my back injury and said they had an opening in st. Louis so I went. This dr. Seemed like he was listining and caring and sent me back to get an x ray after I already brought my films from the mri. This doctor after I got back from the x ray toom asked me. Is this an illinois or missouri workmans comp case? I'm thinking to myself what does it matter but when I told him missouiri his deameanor changed and could not wait to be done with me for the day. He was like dr. Jeckel and mr. Hide. He does not listen to meand I think his attitude is terrible and he flat out lied to me. And tried to deny it. I found out he works for the insurance company. Because things were progressing so slow after about the first 3 monthsi had no chice by to hire an attourney. My case manaager that works at my foot specialist listens to me and you can tell she is very sincere in trying to do the right thing and get me taken care of. (wonderful person).
My case manager for my back has the personality of a gnat! The last straw with her was when I was told to see the doctor again in 2 weeks and I know my existing boss would prefer me to get an appointment as early as possible then come back and work the rest of the day, so I scheduled the appointment for may 24th at about 8:40. And drove all the way back to illinois where I live. I gave them my cell phone as my main contact number to contact me f r any reason. And made that perfectly clear. Well later on my wife just happened to see the light flashing on the answering machine and the case worker left a message that she rescheduled the appointment, but did'nt even check with me first.
To try to wrap this up here are my complaints.
1 merdith miller said in a smart voice, this workmans comp is a privalelage not a right and was extremely unfriendly. And also tried riding her little high horse with me. And said she did not receive voice mail from me.
2) I made sure they got my hone number to contact me or leave a message correct.
3) they delayed proper treatment and care.
4) they swithed an appointement without asking me and this gal said this happened in missouri. You go where I say when I say it.
5) she said I was being incompliant to the judge because I was not feeling good and she wanted me to wait around the st. Louis area to get my firt physical therapy apointment with someone new.
6) she called my employer making it sound like I was complaining about the time scheduled, I just wanted it to work out for everyone. I do not believe in getting someone fired, but if this is the way the laws are they are wrong.. Period. I understand a few people ruin things for alot of people, whether intentional or non intentional and workman's comp carries a kind of lable or taboo.
Whether this helps me or not I think just the personal care and attitudes are probably some of the worse non caring (you do what we say when we say it) attitude is so wrong. This was not inteintional, I do not get paid for all the time missed from work when the schedule my apointments so far away when the want to. It is un ethical, lacks common courtesy and I newver would want anyone to have to have a claim and have liberty mutual as the insurance company. This needs to stop. Well my attourney even said if he brought this up to the judge the might get just a slap on the hand and say do not do it again. Well thats just with me. I get hurt at work and lost alot of money. I tried to turn this in to my own insurance, but they new it happened at work. This kind of abuse mentally and physically in my opinion has to stop... Period!
Fraudulent
I was currently on workers compensation and unfortunately my workers comp insurance company was Liberty Mutual. My adjuster was never in her office, she constantly send me the wrong amount that was owed to me.My attorney tried to get her supervisor, but was not succesful. This company has made my time out of work a living hell!I did not ask to get hurt at work. They lie and cheat you out of your money that is owed to you!I'm still fighting for the money that is owed to me, which is rediculous!

Not paying claims
My fiancee was injured on the job -- he was hit in the face with a sign, splitting open his chin and breaking off two teeth. He reported it to management, who got him contact information and forms for Liberty Mutual. At first we had no trouble contacting our case manager, Julia Dominguez, and she gave approval to the dentist to proceed with a root canal and rebuilding the teeth.
Now, however, he needs more work done due to additional teeth killed by the shock wave, and LM has yet to pay any of the bills for the initial work. Their billing department has gotten the runaround from LM, with Julia Dominguez stating that she submitted the bill to the claims department, while the claims department stated that the never received it. The dentist's office has been given two different addresses to submit bills, one in Illinois and one in Kentucky, and none have ever been acknowledged or paid, and when they call to follow up, both departments claim they never received the bills.
Julia Dominguez does not return phone calls from the dentist or the HR department of fiancee's company, and her supervisor also does not return phone calls. The dentist has notified us that if they don't receive payment from LM, we will have to pay the bills for the dental work -- none of which will be covered by his regular dental insurance, since it was filed under workman's comp.
Claims handling
As a contractor, we have several clients that come to us with damages that should be covered under their homeowners policy. Many more times than not, the homeowners insurance company expedites Loss Reports and claim payments in order to get their policyholders back to a normal lifestyle, with the minimum of disruption. Many of the insurance providers genuinely have their policyholders best interest in mind, because this ony serves to retain clientele. Good customer service assures this.
Over the last year, and in the past, while Oklahomans were dealing with the after-effects of the May hailstorms of 2010, many, many insurance providers were inundated with claims. Thousands of claims per insurance company, in fact. It was a tremendous loss. The majority of insurance companies that we, as contractors (disaster response contractors, in fact) have worked with to insure homeowners receive all of the benefits provided under their policies, and to get repairs done as fast as possible to reduce the amount of damages incurred by the insurance industry, have been very eager to assist and complete claims.
However, one company in particular, we have had recurring problems with and as of this date, almost a year after the hailstorms, are still having severe communications and response issues with liberty Mutual on several claim. Paperwork being lost by the adjusters, several adjusters assigned to one claim, and none know what the other has done or is doing. Responses to emails, phone calls and messages left via fax, phone & email go unanswered for MONTHS, not just days or weeks. We are still working on one claim, just to get ALL of the damage incurred covered. Today, after 4 months of calls, email & faxes sent and resent, the AGAIN new adjuster informed me that they have misplace all of the documentation on this claim and that I needed to send him what I had. Including the last adjusters Loss Report.
The lack of quality customer service and obvious disarray in their adminstration of claims is reprehensible.
Choose carefully and wisely before chossing a homeowners policy with any insurance company. Hopefully, as you have found this complaint, you will seek out complainta regarding other insurance before selecting a carrier.
Take your money and go onto the next sucker
Recently I was shopping for auto insurance with the help of my Agent. He stated they could save me from my $250.00 a month payment to $162.74 a month. I was elated to save almost a hundred a month (Times are tuff). I told him let’s do it. I made a down payment of $237.00 on June 3rd 2009 and started my new policy. In July I made a payment, in August when my 2nd payment was due I was out of town helping my dying sister.
When I got home, I called to make a payment but they said I would have to call my agent and do a re-instate since I was one day past due. I called my agent and did the re-instate and made my payment. I wanted to set up on auto pay but when I called they said you will have to go thru your agent to do this.
I called my agent and they were out of the office so I left a message to set on auto pay. When September rolled around I noticed that my payment had not been taken from my account. I called 3 days after the due date again and asked why the payment had not been taken. They said that this was never set up and that I would have to call my agent.
I called and they said that now I could not re-instate the policy because they only allow one late pay per policy written. Agent called and they said there was nothing they could do. I was furious. I still needed car insurance so I had to make another down payment and go with another carrier. So all in all I did not save any money. I had paid $562.48 for 107 days worth of coverage and made a new down payment of $215.00. So total I paid $777.48 in less than 107 days.
Then I received a new statement saying that I still owe them a balance of $91.22 on top of what I paid. I called and made a payment of $20.00 thru the automated system then spoke to cuts service to let them know that I would be paying this out so my account would not to go to collections. They stated today that it will go to collections anyway if not paid by 11/01/09. I again tried to let them know that my husband and I are on a fixed income (I unemployed, husband retired) and having to pay this entire extra due to them not re-instating my policy and because of incompetence that was out of my control.
They have no customer service they take you money and go onto the next sucker. Since my lovely customer service experience that I received today, I will now pay $5.00 a month on the balance of $71.22. Should be paid off in Dec 2010 by my calculations and to think that I could have paid this off in Nov 2009.
Denial of a valid claim
My sales agent, mark bigelow, from the binghamton ny office, admitted to making a serious error by not adding sewer /septic back up coverage. I requested 'full coverage" and due to his error my valid claim was denied. I am being punished for a liberty mutual employee's error. Illegal, unfair!

I was hit by a person who has Liberty Mutual, the police report stated that it was this persons fault on 2 counts. L.M. will only pay 80% of damages and rental car, leaving me with a bill over $1000 for something that is clearly not my fault. What can we do to shut this fraudulent company down? Life's not fair, but flat out lying and stealing from innocent people has to stop.
Liberty mutual
In the supply room getting supplies, removable shelves on tracks. A supervisor was called in on his day off and he was in a rage and he slammed 5 metal shelves on me (I don't know if he saw me or not)...
I have a tear in my shouldn't muscle, 3 vertebrae messed up in my neck, my shoulder and my hand swells up terrible, my dominant right hand is rendered unusable.
I would like everyone to call representatives and see if we can get some help with Liberty Mutual.
Thank you, Trina Layne

Ruined the door panel/broke the mirror handle
Sloppiest job I ever saw...door panel left hanging with arm rest not screwed on...mirror adustment handle broken...I will notify Liberty Mutual
of this poor workmanship you are purposely making it hard to file a complaint I dont need 100 words.if you insist here goes ...you stink your
workmanship is poor. my insurance company will get a copy of this trick
to make me not file. i am really upset with these practices and will never
use you services. I will let anyone I speak to see this and tell them to be aware of these games
Fraudulent billing
I'm taking them to court. When I closed my account "because they allmost trippled the cost" they made up a fraudulent bill and sent it to a collection agency. I'm here to tell everyone else they can do it too. All you need is a name to registere your case in your local court. They have to come to your area of service. There contracts say they can charge you up to $15, 000.00 for comiting insurance fraud. Your local court is much less but you can go for the max, especualy if they sent a fraudulent bill to a collection agency. If you got the papers you will get the money for credit damiges as well as arogont fraudulent billing. We must stand up or get walked on forever. Right now it's more of a profet to comit fraud. They know most will not spend up to $150.00 to do it, but you get that and more back at the end. This is deliberit fraudulent billing. Stand up and say "No More"!
Update on Magistrate Judgement-Corruption in the Justice system too? I went to court, stated my case, got put on the witness stand, badgered by there atturney, stated my case again, and the judge walked out without a word, That was all. They never had to answer to my claim or asked any questions about my evidence. Since when can a Judgement be made without even a plea from the defendent? I not only had a legaly binding contract but letters prooving there fraud every step of the way. To see the main actual documents go to http://livinglive.tripod.com/ . Now they are dodging the Appeal Summens. I have been posting in Newspapers in different states accross the country, now i'm sending a letter to the State Govenor, you should complain about consummer agincies and Judges you delt with along the way. Don't give up, if we stand together someone will have to do something to stop this companies fraudulent practises. P.S. They are a sister company of Progressive, Nationwide, and State Farm. When a place gives you estimets of other companies it's because they only tell you the ones they are financualy tied to, keeping it all in the family.
Home insurance-overinflated replacement value
I’m trying to help my fellow home-owning friends avoid being scammed for $1000s of extra in insurance premiums by their home insurer, as I was. Simple step: Ask your home insurance company for a copy of the detailed report they used to calculate your home’s replacement value.
Please also email me if you have had this same problem.
For Liberty Mutual customers, it’s called a XactValue report, and is about 3-4 pages in length. If your agent won’t give you the report, tries to give you their one page report, or says one doesn’t exist, they’re lying, and most likely you are being overcharged premiums on a bigger or more luxurious home than you actually own. I was overcharged over $1, 200 over a 3 year period.
If you find that you were overcharged based on the fictitious values the insurance company used to describe your house to calculate the premiums, please contact me, as I’m pursing a personal lawsuit against Liberty Mutual Insurance, a complaint with the State Attorney’s office, Insurance commissioner, as well as class action lawsuit possibilities. I was subject to an insurance scam, and I’m sure the way Liberty Mutual runs this, there are others out there.
Background:
When I bought my home, I called my insurance company for 10 years, Liberty Mutual. I talked with an agent, Tom Holt, who asked me a series of questions about my house, such as the number of rooms, amenities, etc. He then told me my home replacement value was and the associated premium, and began insuring my home.
It wasn’t until this year when Liberty increased my premiums by 35% (I had not had any claims since Liberty insured me), I decided to shop around with other insurers on their rates. I found that the other insurers had my home replacement value calculated at less than ½ the value that Liberty had calculated, with an associated much lower premium. When I asked Liberty why they had my home replacement value so high, they initially tried to give reasons like material costs have gone down or my mortgage company probably required it. I checked around and found that these were not true. When I confronted my agent, he avoided my questions. Liberty’s only response was basically tough luck; you signed the application, so you agreed with the premium. Note that there is absolutely no information on my application about the characteristics of my home. They even stated that I must have asked for this higher level of coverage, which wasn’t true. Recently I found that it is illegal for an insurance company in Minnesota to knowingly insure your home for more than its replacement value.
It is only when I filed a lawsuit against Liberty that their attorney provided me with a detailed XactValue report, which showed that Tom Holt, the insurance agent, had put in the report that I had four extra rooms (that didn’t exist), had solid marble sinks and countertops, marble Jacuzzi tubs, and brass fixtures in EVERY bathroom (I have none of these in any of my bathrooms), skylights, crown moldings, French doors, built in speakers and bookcases, chair rails, etc., none of which are in my home. Most astonishingly, he said I had cathedral ceilings in EVERY bedroom, even a cathedral ceiling in the basement! Again, I wasn’t told or didn’t know that such a XactValue report existed when I insured my home. No wonder my replacement value was so high, which drove my high premiums.
And what’s Liberty’s response when I confronted them with this report? They stated I must have told them all these specifications on my home when I took the policy, so it was my fault!
Caveat Emptor, my friends.

Bank account
Someone had my info on my account and proceeded with online activity, that left my bank account overdrawn and with a deduction of 49.98 for a liberty club. I dont have internet access to do anything like that. I would gladly appreciate if the amount that is owned to me 49.98 be bank into my account or payment sent to me. I already called and cancel the subscription.
Workers comp run around
I hurt my back working as an EMT/Firefighter moving a patient. i filled a workers comp claim with liberty mutual my rep their was Dori Dyson. She done every thing she could to stop me from getting help i lost 2 disks and bulged 4 others i have spinal cord narrowing and a host of other issiues that were caused by my work injurie. they paid for one perscription and every time i went to an appoment with the surgen and or the doctor she would cancel it when i gopt their it is very hard for me to get around and she new that this went on for a year after that time she informed me that since i haven:t seen a dr in a year that they did not have to pay for my medical any more and that was all i asked was to help me get back to normal i didn't want any money. After they denied my medical because of the year time limit i decided to go get a lawer and found out that the year time limit also apllied to any law suit. It is my belief she stonewalled me for that year on purpose just to save liberty mutial a few thousad dollars after my fire department paid several thousand every 3 mounths. But i see comercials all the time where they are putting on these large fireworks displays and sponsering football and just about every other sport that you cam think of. I am still messed up very bad i have exxtream pain and mobility issues and now that the pain has been so bad for so long my heart has started to show the stress with hi blood presser chest pain and tacacardia. WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT DEPEND ON LIBERTY MUTIAL THEY WOULD RUTHER YOU BE DEAD IF IT WILL SAVE THEM A BUCK.

Liberty Mutual is a joke. There needs to be someone that can stop this bad insurance from doing us hard working people from going through this none caring insurance. All the adjuster care about is the bonus at the end of the year, while we go on suffering.
Home owners insurance
My homeowners insurance was just recently cancelled for no reason what so ever, other than Liberty Mutual stating that they are randomly cancelling homeowners insurance in Florida because they are not insuring in this state no longer. I received a letter from them four mouths after my policy was paid up for the year, (they couldn't wait to get my money just so they could cancel me later). I had been with Liberty mutual for approximately 10 years. I also had my auto and flood insurance with them for approximately the same amout of time.
Upon receiving my letter of cancellation for no apparent reason I asked my neighbor if her insurance was cancelled since she had Liberty Mutual as well. She stated she had not been cancelled and just a few months down the line I was told by her that they renewed her insurance for the new year.
It is beyond comprehension as to why they would cancel me and not cancel her insurance. Her house is right next to my house and she has done nothing to increase her protection.
Every year I have made it a point to invest and increase the safety of my home for hurricane proofing. I am now working on high impact windows because the shutters I have are not up to code because of the year my house was built.
I again called just today and asked why my insurance was cancelled and they cannot give me any reason other than they randomly picked certain customers. I would like to know how they could ramdomly pick someone who is right next door to a house that they recently renewed the policy on and not renew my policy. I don't see any justification, her house is not as safe as my house and if my house is hit by a hurricane, her house is in the same path and makes her just as susceptable to damage as my house would be.
Liberty Mutual is ridiculously unfair to their dedicated customers and should not be allowed to just cancel insurance without no justification, other than picking people at random. On the contrary they should maintain dedicated customers who are less likely to have damage because they are improving the safety of their homes.
At this point and time I initially cancelled my auto insurance and will be cancelling my flood insurance. There is no plans in the future to insure with Liberty Mutual even if they asked, but I want this to be on record for potential consumers.
Thanks Liberty Mutual for being dedicated to your best customers, you are a bunch of liars.

I have to agree with everyone's comments and with the post. I guess we all have to make sure we pick the right insurance company or at least the best one to deal with. Doesn't matter if we make complaints or not because We Have that Right to make a complaint. If complaints was never made then We would not know what might be happening to another person so that We could make a better judgment for Us. Now that I know and understand how things work, I can make a better judgment what insurance company should I sign with and the best policy for myself
Because the STATE of FLORIDA told them they had too! Really people need to understand that insurance companies are under the regulations of the government. Deal with it or move out of FLORIDA... it is the way it is in Florida... surely the company would have loved to keep you because you were a good customer... but they have had no choice because your state sucks and told them they could not pick only the bad customers... Second of all Mr. Feed up... Maybe some people need to learn to pay for things on their own and stop being irresponsible in filing small claims because your the reason why our insurance rates are sky rocketing! Grow up and look at yourselves, you should be ashamed at yourselves for complaining about things that you can not control and learn to be someone who stops with all the rotten attitudes in this world! Really?
Liberty Mutual is a joke.
I had a simple claim for damage to my basement floor tile and after two months I still have not received full reimbursement. I had to pay my deductible plus the additional cost for installation. If you have a liberty mutual policy...Go sign up with another company today.

I recently was denied a short term disability even after having two letters from 2 different doctors advising me that I am unable to go to work til I am better. I am suffering from sever anxiety and depression, possibley bipolar. Liberty Mutual denied me the first time stating that they did not get enough info from the doctors( that was their issue they are...

Padding insurance policy
I have had my home insurance with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company since I bought my home in 1998. I had increased my insurance one time to meet the true value of my home, but then they padded the insurance and raised the amount about $40, 000 more than my house is worth. They they sent me a waiver form that would allow them to raise the amount greater than the cap that NC places on insurance companies so that they could raise it even higher without limitations. If I didn't agree to this increase, they threatened to cancel my insurance. So I told them to go ahead and cancel it.
I used to have my car insurance with them too, but they did other similar things to me regarding the car insurance so I dropped them some time ago as a result.
Insurance companies are notorious for ripping off their clients. Liberty Mutual is one of the worst ones that I've ever dealt with. They actually told me that the reason they were doing this is because I actually had a file a claim with them and that they didn't want to lose any money on me. In my opinion, this was MY money that they used on the claim. The money that I paid to them to cover this sort of thing and then they had the GALL to tell me that they wanted yet more money from me. In my opinion there is no justification for them to pad the coverage or to ask for more money. They also increased the value of the insurance without asking me if it was okay to do so; if that isn't illegal, it should be.
Insurance companies have way too much leverage and something needs to change in a very big way.
This story sounds like a weird situation to me, but having proper coverage on your home is a good idea. If you are underinsured, you may be out thousands of dollars if you ever have a claim.
