I want to make a formal complaint about the manager at Liquorland Kings Cross.
I have had 2 run ins with this very rude individual, which is a shame as all of the other staff at the store are very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately I do not know his name but he was referred to as "the boss" by another member of staff.
I wish that I had made a complaint the first time that there was a problem but I decided to let it go as this store is my go to when shopping.
This person has been consistently unfriendly towards me since he started working there. About a month ago I went to make a purchase and, as usual, I said hello to him which he completely ignored. As this was one of many times he had ignored me I decided that enough was enough and asked him why he was always so rude to me. I also said to him that he had ignored me when I said hello.
I said that he was consistently rude when "serving" me and I was sick and tired of it.
His response to me was, "well you don't need to shop here mate."
I was flabergasted and said with disbelief. "That's your response? You don't need to shop here? Unbelievable!"
Needless to say, I didn't make a purchase.
Since then I have only shopped at the store when he is not there which is unfortunate as I used to shop there 3 or 4 times a week.
The reason that I decided to make a complaint today is I had another problem with him this afternoon, 3pm approximately.
I didn't see him before I walked in and it wasn't until I went to the counter that I realised he was there.
Before I was able to make a purchase he said, "so, are you going to apologise to me for the way you spoke to me last time?"
I said "Absolutely not." I had nothing to apologise for.
He then said, "Fine. Then I won't serve you." He then snatched my purchase away and laughed at me.
I left the store.
I will never set foot in the Kings Cross Liquorland again. I'd rather travel to a different store.
I've worked in hospitality for over 30 years and have never been treated so poorly, especially by a manager.
As I said, it's a real shame because everyone else that works there is always lovely.
