CBA*PC/MacKeeper
My kredit card was charge for 147,31 USD for some computer software that I didn't authorize to the best of my knowledge. The software´s name is CBA*PC/MacKeeper or that is what it says on the kredit card sheet. It appears to be intended for a PC computer, but I have a Mac computer, so it seems unlikely that I have ordered it. If you could look into this I would be most thankful.
Desired outcome: Please refund
Unauthorized credit card charges
Date of charges: 4/04/2018Amouint of charges: $188.40 and 576.00
Method of charges: Discover Card via PayPal
Both Discover Card and PayPal are aware of the fraudulent charges and are starting an investigation.
I used MacKeeper years ago and told them right from the beginning that I thought their services were a scam. I cancelled my account and told the representative that I never wanted to hear their company again. For several months now, I have been getting pop-up messages on my computer that MacKeeper had located several issues with my computer and wanted me to renew my subscription so they could resolve the issues. My old computer crashed not long after I got rid of MacKeeper. How about that? How on earth that Kromtech got control of my new Mac computer I have no earthly idea When I looked on my Applications folder, there was MacKeeper! I trashed the application and was even sent a "sorry to see you go" message. I checked applications again a few days ago, and there was MacKeeper again. I trashed it again.
I got a message from PayPal today that there were some suspicious charges on my account and to please call them. I did. I called Discover Card, too.
Fraudulent charges are currently being investigated by both companies. I hope the fraud charges are upheld and Kromtech is found liable for all the charges, plus a heavy fine.
My advice to anyone considering getting MacKeeper is DON'T! Run as far as from MacKeeper as you can get. They are scammers and will put fraudualent charges on your credit cards.
Upset at having to go through all this to remove an unauthorized charge.
Customer service - premium technical support with mackeeper
I was just on the phone for 1.5 hours with "tech support" from Mac Keeper. Each person was pushier than the last and spoke to me with little to no respect. They each talked over me and interrupted me. Spoke condescendingly. I asked to complain to a manager and it's like they didn't even listen. All three people were men, with extremely heavy Indian/Persian/? accents. Spoke quickly. Could barely understand half of what they said. They pushed and pushed and pushed to get my credit card number and I had to repeat myself several times, letting them know I wasn't comfortable with them having my card. The first guy I could barely understand at all, so he transferred me. The second guy was a complete [censor] and was absolutely the rudest person I've come across in customer service. The third guy was a mix between those two. I eventually had to end LogMeIn Rescue because that guy was being so snotty and pushy! Terrible customer service!

Damaged some files
I's the end of the year and I decided to treat my imac to a deep cleaning. I read up on MacKeeper and it looked good and safe. After running it, I got the message that my mac's condition was serious with 20 infections found. I ran the fix & clean and got the message that that my mac is now excellent. Just to see how effective MacKeeper is, and what it did, I ran it again. It "should" have still shown excellent. Once again I got the message saying my mac's condition is serious. I did this several times with the same results. If that wasn't bad enough, a saved folder on my desktop that had important jpg's, .pdf, and QT .mov files, all "look" the same, but when I went to open them, they are all damaged and won't open. If that wasn't bad enough, I can't even view my own website on line. I called GoDaddy, and they had no problem opening my website. If that isn't bad enough, I went to my iweb website files, and they are all damaged. Whew! Where do I begin? MacKeeper tech support said there is no way their software could cause all these problems. (Yeah right) Someone once said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I should have listened. Now I don't know where to turn. Where is their accountability? What recourse can we take?
Kromtech alliance corp
I downloaded mackeeper a month ago after I deleted it it kept on automatically installing an extention for safari disguised as a chill tab.
This extension uses pop up ads and says it could be resolved with mackeeper and at the bottom its says kromtech alliance corp I have tried everything and I cannot resolve it. The ads open up when ever your watching youtube or an

Mackeeper premium - #[protected]
I was charged $59.88 via paypal from this company through your company. I have ordered nothing and have turned this into paypal. I have also contacted my bank and if i am not refunded the entire amount I will file more complaints with other agencies. Thia is absolutely ridiculous that you continue to get away with this. I will not stop until this issue has been resolved and my money returned
Unethical behavior
So I signed up for mac keeper service this morning, the 15$ one month amount. And my computer is about 5 years old, no biggie, barely used except for social media. No porn... Anyway they say it is to screwed up and they need a specialist for 399$ dollars more for a year. They say they have one there that can take the case. I tell them no way!... Can't afford etc. And they bring the monthly total down to 90$ a month. Ha freaking ha, it is christmas time no way! I tell him no five times, and he keeps coming back with my computer is doomed if I leave. I tell him no again and that I really need to take my daughter to school, right back with the sales pitch. I then have to start removing his remote access from my computer and it was like hal in space odyssey, no don't do that, no push the ok button again. I did it... I hope there is no retaliation for it. My computer does seem especially slow. I feel like it was a bait a switch kind of deal.
Appalling service and a con
Absolutely appalling service, a disgrace and a con. Even though I was within the time before expiry of my last licence they refused after many attempts to allow me to clean up my computer, even just the once prior to expiry. This was even considering that I had hardly used the service while paying for it for 2 months. Never known such appalling customer service.
And beware. Even though I paid over the odds for just 1 month without automatic renewal, renewal happened automatically - an absolute lie and a con. Do not trust them and I certainly would not recommend them to anyone
Mackeeper software
MacKeeper is a highly invasive malware that can de-stabilize your operating system. It is unethically marketed by Zeobit and a rip-off.
Yet YAHOOD keeps carrying their ads! In Yahoo mail, it constantly comes up at the top of my emails!
Why or why? I think it means that Yahoo is unethical too. This gives Yahoo bad karma, and it is the reason they are doing badly financially, and why no one wants to buy them and so on.
Yahoo is crooked. If they keep promoting MacKeeper, it proves they are crooked.

Exorbitant charge
In December of 2014 I did my annual computer clean-up with MacKeeper. In the process I discovered that my computer had accumulated one or more viruses. I talked on the phone with a MacKeeper rep about the problem. He walked me through the clean-up process, which went very well. Then he convinced me that I needed continuing MacKeeper supervision to prevent any additional viruses from infecting my computer. I agreed and he said I would have coverage for a year. He charged me a modest amount for the initial computer clean-up and said there would be an additional charge. He didn't tell me how much it would cost. I assumed we were talking about $50-$100. Today I paid my DiscoverCard bill for the month and noticed a charge of almost $400 from CBI*KROMTECH. I am shocked. Had I known the cost I would not have agreed to the additional coverage.
They started to steal money from me
I never heard about the company CBI Kromtech before. I haven’t ordered from as well, but 4 days ago they started to take different sums from my account. At the beginning they took small fees, but later it was already $00 and more. I cancelled my account and contacted the bank, but I wanted to warn other people about this scam, so beware about it and share this info.
I purchased a online security for my daughter's mac book. I paid $39.99 for what I thought would be an annual expense, including an additional $9.99 for extra support. Since the initial purchase, I have been charged recurring expenses every month without my knowledge...avoid this company!
How do I cancel this agreement?
Don't agree to their lifetime security services
I got warning from the company CBI Kromtech. They warned me that my computer was hacked ad they advised to use their services in order to stop virus and remove everything. I agreed and they offered lifetime security for $200. I agreed, but they charge me for $500 and I haven’t received any help or support from them. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?
Would like more information about this order, don't recall ever submitting a Visa number
I received a receipt invoice # AKD-[protected], Reference [protected], Invoice Date March 16, 2013 for 1 MacKeeper Basic Licence for 1 Mac. I don't recall this transaction nor do I recall giving my Visa information.to anyone. I would appreciate some concrete information about this order.
Thank you, Sandy Gibbons
Why was a charged for a Mackeeper license which I have uninstalled, not used. I have never agreed this as a recurring subscription. Please can I get a refund and how do I ensure this does not happen again.
MacKeeper took a bad situation and made it worse
MacKeeper took a bad situation and made it worse. If you enjoy taking the time to reinstall Microsoft Office and lord knows what other applications that MacKeeper destroys, then definitely try this software. Maybe you're looking for an excuse for not getting a project done or you're a masochist.
Maybe you hate your Mac. As for me, I was just stupid.
My MacBook Pro has been behaving poorly. It seems to be getting hotter than it should, and it crashes in a certain way. First I tried Sophos Free Anti-Virus for Mac. Sophos claimed to have found and removed a few nasty virus-like things. Yay!
But my MacBook Pro was still behaving poorly. So I made my first mistake. I clicked on one of the ubiquitous ads for MacKeeper that are everywhere. Why did I reward them for such an annoying ad campaign? Because they got a good review on cnet, and I like and trust cnet. So I downloaded MacKeeper's free trial software.
While MacKeeper was running the first time, Sophos tried to download an update. The two pieces of software wouldn't let each other finish either job, and my computer stalled in a different way than it has previously. The active symbol on MacKeeper and the downloading symbol on Sophos both kept on going for a very long time but otherwise the computer was frozen. Then I made my second mistake. I restarted my computer, prevented Sophos downloading, and kept trusting MacKeeper after it had stalled my computer once.
MacKeeper didn't find any additional viruses that Sophos had missed. No big deal there. When it claimed to have found and removed a bunch of unneeded files, I thought that maybe one of the files it had removed was causing an unwanted process that made my computer heat up and crash. So when MacKeeper requested my payment to continue removing more unnecessary files, I shelled out the dough. That was my third mistake. After a paid-for MacKeeper was finally done its scan, it seemed to have removed a huge number of unneeded files.
Some of these unneeded files were needed.
I discovered after MacKeeper's first full scan that all my Microsoft Office applications were dead. After three live chats with customer service, we had this exchange:
Joseph: are you able to reinstall Office?
Me: I am hoping to avoid having to do that.
Joseph: to be honest it will be easiest solution. just don't use mackeeper again before we answer you what exact caused your problem
I am not alone. See https://www.google.com/search?q=+site:answers.microsoft.com+mackeeper+microsoft for the complaints to microsoft. Why aren't there complaints on MacKeeper's site about it crashing Office? I don't know, but I have my suspicions.
cost of product $130.52 Why so expensive no discount for the second time around? if i don't get a discount i don't want the product because i see no change with the speed of the pc.
Want to end MacKeeper service and want a refund for the Feb18, 2018 charge of $130.98 on my Discover Card. Charge #[protected]
I was home after surgery and downloaded a$35 copy of MacKeeper . What a mistake. I did a brief search but like in you in all the wrong places! It took out my HD, MY EMAIL AND ALL MY PROGRAMS. luckily the tech at school was able to reinstall most. I now run like crazy from any site that has the above ad! scarey as. I was out of a computer for a week and I am still getting mail with my email addresses. There may be copy sites out there but the techs think the software is going to another part of the world. And the place it was billed to did not "exist". Never again!
