Ok here is my experience with magic jack I ordered
A magic jack on april 17 2010 and I did the rush
Shipping since I am in canada I thought this would
Be the fastest way to get the magic jack to me.
I can tell you that this has been nothing but a
Headache the support staff are absolutely useless
I have done the online chat many times and they
Are just idiots. The staff don't know what they
Are doing and are over all pretty bad the staff
Are rude to you when you deal with them.
So I have been asking where is my magic jack because
According to their site they claim that an order
Would be to a person in 2 - 4 days after ordering
Well I can tell you that is an outright lie.
So far I have been waiting 16 days for my magic
Jack and it still isn't here.

This is just a scam they tell you one thing in their
Ads and another thing in their terms of service.
Do not order a magic jack this is just a rip off!
You place the order and never get the thing.
You know what you have no clue what you are talking about it
doesn't take 3 - 4 weeks to get something form the USA to Canada
I have had items shipped from California before and it took about
7 days.
Also it has been 16 days and I have still NOT received it.

Also Magic Jack misrepresents that you get free calls in Canada in their
Terms of Service it says only in the USA.

You are not even in Canada you are from Clarksville, Tennessee, United States you know nothing about shipping into or out of Canada. Where I have had many items shipped out of the USA into Canada and the average time is about 7 - 8 days for it to receive something from the USA. Even from the West Coast of the USA.
And I know how long it takes for an item to get from the USA to Canada and I actually paid extra to have the item shipped from the USA to Canada at a faster rate. They take your money and make promises that they can't control.
And yes you did you said "You should expect about 3-4 weeks when you buy something from another country"
And no I shouldn't since I paid extra to get the express shipping. Even with out the express shipping it shouldn't take any more than 7- 8 days with the express shipping it should be way faster. These guys are a RIP OFF!
Today is now day 17 and it still isn't here. The advice that you gave me is total crap and is wrong.
Oh and if it takes 3 months for a package to go from TN To CA then your postal system really sucks
over there. The problem isn't with Customs then it is with your crappy Postal Service and with that
being said companies shouldn't use them Magic jack should be shipping with Fedex or UPS then.
And have it setup so that they can track their orders.
There was no rudeness either it is plain and clear that the information you are giving me is just wrong and that you don't actually have much if any experience about shipping in and out of Canada.
When you get the Magic Jack and sign up you agree to their Terms of Service in their TOS
their TOS says that calls are only free to the USA not USA and Canada

ya right LadyScot I don't believe you. And you are full of it when you say that you have been shipping to Canada and from Canada. Again I have had items shipped FROM the USA into Canada many times with a delivery time of about 7 - 8 days.
don't even compare the Canadian Postal service to that POS service that you have down there called United States Postal Service because they are NOTHING alike.

2 weeks is a long time shipping from US to Canada. Maybe 10 days max is tolerable.
Man, my dad uses this and the reception is crap. But what do you expect for 20 bux a year.

no magic jack call the corp office or try tracking it with th usps if that dont work look on your cc statement for a billing number and dispute the charge with your credit card company
I ordered the magic jack device in hopes of receiving a canadian area code. When looking up information on the web site I noticed that the area code I needed was available.
Upon registering I was told that in addition to the 39.95 I paid for the device I would also have to pay $10 a year for the Canadian area code. I contacted a online site operator for an explanation as I did not notice anywhere on the site about this fee.
I did not receive any assistance. For your reference I have copied the conversation so you can see a sample of their "customer service" Now I understand that $10 is not a lot of money. My real concern is what other "hidden charges" could be sprung on us with their service. And sorry, I just realised that the top part of the conversation was cut off and the window has closed but I think you can still get the just of the conversation. It started off with her telling me I could find the information about this fee in the "Knowledge Base" tab.

i got jerked around for 5 days trying to get my magic jack to work... the support tech help was useless and i feel the whole thing is a scam... the people you chat with are liars and are not even in this country... its sad when you can't talk to a person via a telephone, that alone should tell you that they're hiding from the consumer... i'am filing a complaint with ever state and federal agency, to get these crooks shut down and out of business...they even misrepresented the 30 day free trail...i'am retired and have alot of time on my hands, and i can't think of a better way to spend it, than trying to shut down this lying, cheating, no response company.

Having lived in Fla for 20 years - you learn one thing - SOME companies are scams in FLA. Magicjack is no excetion. Hope this will help some of you-all...
On june 16th a message appeared stating that upgrade was in process, at that time no dial tone, my phone have been down sice this notice appeared.I spent two with tech support, the problem still exist, I contract exspire may 2012.
i have a magicjack i live in ont canada it is working but i can not call any 1800 numbers it say i need a area code.
MagicJack disables my device and 3 numbers on the device without any warning or writing.
I have tried at least 10 times in the last month to ask for a resolution. The only one answer I received from MagicJack: "Your account is under review. We don't have any timeframe for how long it will take. We will write you an email once the review is done."
They think they can dictate the relationship with their customers and can hide behind the Internet forever.

Your right, I'm from Canada and I paid for the 3-4 day delivery service, it's been over a week now. I'm getting worried after reading this. And their customer service is for the dogs?
Welp it's 3days after my last post & I still didn't get my Magic Crap?!?!?! This truly is ridiculous, I didn't think this was actually going to happen to me as I don't normally have problems when ordering products from Canada or the U.S.?
While I agree there are lots of problems, the service is better than nothing for the price and works okay Most of the time. So I disagree with the term scam, since it does work most of the time. On the negative side, I am trying to get mine renewed, and they claim I have been under review and it has been over a year or more since I tried to get the Magic Jack Plus and still they claim they will contact me but they never do. Now it is about to run out and they wont let me renew still claiming that they will contact me after well over 1+ years, possibly 2 years now. This is discouraging for those of us who go out of their way to pay and have the services without any truthful responses. Not sure what to do and they refuse to provide the name of the President of the Company... :(
In regards to shipping back and forth from Canada, I have shipped from there to the USA and waited to get correspondence back from them and sometimes it takes them 3 to 4 WEEKS . Now you can choose to believe this or not, that is the entire truth. While I say some times, I am mean not always does it take that long. I can tell you that sometimes it takes about 11 days, and that is most often. I have never sent or received any thing in the mail from Canada that didn't take at the least, 11 days to get to the United States. Richard Truong, I have had many problems like that with them, and it seems to be a very common problem. I am not sure what to do about it either. Too bad a company with so much potential doesn't have the kind of customer service or company to stand behind their product and get the customers back on board in their evaluation of valuing it. Suffice to say, that is their main problem with their customers, the customer service is not responding OR those in charge are just floating along in hopes that things will get better without any effort..
take an extra step and let those at the top of the cooperate ladder know what has happened to you and let them know that you expect better service from them .
