washer high efficiency
This washer has a computer system. It constantly spins off kilter. The noise when spinning sounds like an airplane taking off. It repeatedly requires readjustment of load when in spin mode. The computer system MUST be disengaged by pulling plug. It doesn't STOP when you hold button for 3 second interval as required. It is a disaster! I cannot leave house when washing because it bounces all over washroom. I dare NOT fill to capacity because it can't accommodate a full load in spin. Therefore, I am constantly washing and monitoring. I HATE THIS WASHER!

We purchased a Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer back in November 2016 from Loews.
Within the first 6 months we requested a Maytag Warranty technician to come out twice.
The complaint was the machine was making a lot of unnecessary noise and it was not filling up with water to properly wash the clothes. Both times (same technician) the technician stated the machine was fine and nothing needed to be replaced or repaired.
Now almost 2.5 years later we still have the same issues in addition to new ones.
We will never purchase anything Maytag brand again. Lousy product and service!

Noise is something that is highly subjective, so whether or not it sounded correct is probably best left to a professional.
All washers are now efficiency controlled, so one shouldn't expect any of them to use the same amount of water as yesteryear. The Centennial line is actually highly rated, in part, because of a patented mode labeled Power Wash. This mode allows the unit to use extra water, heat and agitation for cleaning.
If you are going to replace the Maytag, may I suggest considering A Speed Queen. They're well built and, if any unit runs like an older unit, it's this line. You'll pay two to three times the amount as your current unit, but you'll find it well worth it.

high efficiency washer is not cleaning clothes
My wife and I purchased a maytag high effeciency washer and dryer less than a year ago. From day one I said it wasnt working correctly. My clothes come out smelling as bad as they did when I put them in. Ive tried every setting and wash type. We use the correct soap and follow the instructions to a t. It was a major purchase for us and I am beside myself thinking that I will be the smelly guy at work because my washer will not do its job. Can someone please help?! Am I going to be stuck with this broken washer machine for the next ten years?! (ten years is how long the salesman told us it would last) we cannot afford to throw this one out and buy a new one, but believe me if that was an option that is exactly what I would do.

First, let me correct something you've stated; many appliances, Maytag included, won't necessarily last 10 years. In fact, the chance of getting 10 years out of them
If you're absolutely sure you've, "tried everything and followed directions to a T, " don't you dare just throw them out. They're a great set of products. List them locally on Craigslist, and then replace them.
The only units that come close to anything like the older washer and dryers are produced by Speed Queen. You'll pay more for them, but you'll be more than happy with their performance.

poor product
In November 2018, I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set for my daughter who lives in Texas from Home Depot there. In December the washer had problems with the balancing (which I'm told was not recorded, the repair was done by Home Depot Care). In March the machine went down again with needing the Mother Board which was not available till the end of this month, this being told to us by both Maytag and Home Depot Service. Since my daughter has a family of six, being without a washer for a month was not an option, having to depend on neighbors and going to a laundry mat 30 minutes away with a one year old. I had to buy her a new washer last week.
I contacted Maytag to see if we could get some type of compensation for a five month old washer that that (could be repaired) just not in a very timely manner and was told, no. I feel this is very unfair and poor customer service. I am now paying for a washer that only work for a new months and I'm sure will be fixed and back in the Home Depot in Texas. Am VERY disappointed in Maytag for not standing behind it's product. and NO, waiting another several weeks was not an option.

I bought it brand new in 2016 from Home Depot and yesterday when I did 2 loads of wash that I had finished and started to put more things in the washer the machine started running by itself and no lights and cannot turn it off and nothing is moving inside the washer. I had to unplug it for it to stop running.. I was planning on buying the matching dryer but not now. The machine is only 3 yrs old! Now I have to get a repair man in to fix it. I am very disappointed in this washer and will not buy a Maytag appliance again

Unfortunately even the very best appliances can break down earlier than one might expect. Maytag is a brand owned by Whirlpool. You'll find that Whirlpool owns several recognizable brands; Maytag is considered an upper end to their line.
To stay competitively priced, Maytag comes with a one year, limited warranty on the overall unit and 10 year parts, prorated warranty on the tub and motor. This is actually pretty impressive, as most manufacturers end all warranty coverage at one year.
Have you contacted the retailer, Home Depot, yet? Many retailers either offer or provide additional warranty coverage. Please let us know if, or once you've contacted them. We'd like to know what takes place.

maytag top load with agitator
I hate it! I only bought a new washer because our old one left nasty residue on our clothing. This one, according to the home depot rep, had the option of "deep fill" that would permit more water to come into the washer. That with the agitator in the center, I would have no problems. Well it's been two months and it is worse than my old washer. Even on "deep fill" and "bulky items", the water level is not even visible above the clothing. I have taken pictures and will share online as soon as I have time to download them. I have had a service man come who confirmed there is nothing wrong with it technically and thus cannot fix the problem. I have to live with this terrible washing machine again! Home depot will not take back after 7 days, maytag will not take back and nothing can be done. I wish I had done what I had initially intended to do - find an old washing machine or a brand that allows enough water to come in to wash the cloths.

Home depot many phone calls every day. After 2 months home depot offers floor model of the same stove, after a few weeks same problems arise, losing heat from stove top and oven. Problem is on going no stove for 1 month, technicians have been in for both stoves with parts. They told me the problem lies with this model of stove.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in September 2015..IN January 2019 my dishwasher would not drain ... I contacted online service of maytag and they directed me to an online service telling me it would cost me 5.00$ and that i could get a refund..After explaining my situation to the online service Rep. He said it was the drainage pump and i was charged 49.00 more for his lousy service..so I contacted a local service person to change the pump. he came in and tested the pump and there was no power getting to the pump and suggested it might be a connection problem on the mother board.After he checked all connections on the board he said that the board was no good and needed to be replaced at a cost of $275.00 . Or I could go and buy another dishwasher...He suggested a Bosch ...I'm very angry with Matag as they do not want to offer to replace something that is faulty with there product and this seems to be the only way to get in touch with them without being charged more..

We bought a brand new maytag dishwasher in may of 2018 for almost $700. By new year's, the top rack brackets came out, and hence the entire top rack was no longer usable. We contacted the store where it was purchased, they assured us it's under warranty, but we need a certified maytag repair dealer. They referred us to the one closest to our home. He was scheduled to be here to repair it last thursday... Today is monday... Have not been able to contact him, and he never showed up. They have us over a barrel. maytag washing machine
We bought a brand new Maytag washer and dryer last month to replace our older units.
We have only used the washer (model MVWC565FW1 ) about eight times and it's already broken. The control panel no longer lights, and we can't turn the washer on anymore. There is no power. The outlet that it is plugged into is working fine too.
We now have to have Best Buy bring us another new one and take this one back.
I'm not sure where these Maytags are built, but the quality is pathetic.

why will my washer not complete the cycle if there are bulky items such as sheets, towels or bathroom rugs in the machine. I have had to restart as much as 3 times to finish a load. It is taking hours to finish a load plus the waste of eater and electricity used by having to refill each time. I have set the washer to bulky items and deep water wash to no avail.

I purchased a Maytag washing machine on 3/17/2014 for $719.99 . It was model number MVWB725BWO; Serial number C40770627. I decided to purchase a Maytag because the prior Maytag washing machine that I owned lasted 26 years. 14 months after purchasing this machine the main bearing for the laundry tub began making a very loud noise. We contacted a repair person. The part was no longer under warranty and the cost of the new part and repair was $600. We were advised that this was a common repair for this machine. The noise continued to increase in volume until the until December 2018 when it totally stopped spinning.
I do not believe that washing machines should only have a four year life. Also, this machine only operated correctly for 14 months.
I have now purchased a Speed Queen and would never purchase or recommend another Maytag product.

We paid a lot of money for this appliance. Had it about 1 and 1/2 years and it stopped working. We called maytag and they called an appliance tech to come out and fix it. He told us it was unfixable. I just want to put one good word for the washer and dryer those my pre-owner of house bought in 1977. Good job!
I have taken them over 2003 and have been used them until now.
I was going to change the washer this year due to rusted water leaking.
It's about time, I thought. 40 years of service... whether it is a person or a machine should be recognized for that, don't you think?

I have always had Maytag washers and would have nothing else in my home. That all changed when in June of this year I purchased a new washer. What a disappointment. Not only do the clothes not come out clean but they are a tangled mess. I have never had such a poor quality machine. I have tried every combination of settings possible to help alleviate the problem but nothing works. Even washing on the delicate cycle leaves the clothes tangled.
The dryer which I purchased at the same time is equally disappointing. The clothes come out completely wrinkled every time. It doesn't matter what type of fabric, the temperature of the water or the setting of the machine. The clothes do not appear to be tumbling but rather just spinning against the drum, between the fins. Even our bath towels are not soft and fluffed but rather wrinkled.
I certainly hope you choose to stand behind your products. Awaiting your reply.

5 1/2 years old. Warranty ran out. Spinning cycle got real loud. Oil/dirty water? skirted out from under machine. UL out of balance continually, no matter what size load. Repairman said it was the drum, bearings were stripped. It would cost $1000.00 to repair. Really? 5 1/2 years. Just wash several loads a week. It was not overused or overloaded. The last Maytag I had lasted 30 years. Sad, very sad.

I have this washing machine that is just over a year old it has never ever worked properly every time we put a load of laundry in it gets to the spin cycle and tells me that my load is off balance. We have tried the washer absolutely full, tried it only a quarter full, tried it with only 10 socks in it and we've tried it empty it's the same thing regardless of how heavy the load is. We had the glass lid explode and the service man in town had that repaired on warranty but they absolutely cannot make my washing machine work. These washing machines are not cheap and Maytag does not seem to care that I am stuck with a year old machine that absolutely will not work. I will never buy a Maytag appliance again.

Problem: The machine is only 4 years old and there is rust on the housing around the top of the machine above the tub. Not on the tub but the opening above the tub. I Have called the extended warranty people who tell me this is not covered by the warranty.
But I think this price machine should last more than 4 years. Rust is a coating failure.
I will provide photos if required. Or will be glad to show the failure to a representive at our home location.
Please advise what can be done by the Maytag corporation to back up this failure.

Oxidation of metal surfaces can also be caused by exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as salt air (near ocean areas) or chemical exposure (either in the air or from chemical cleaners.
In order to reduce the likelihood of rust, we recommend ensuring that the top stays dry between loads and periodically wiping with mild soap and water especially areas were bleach and other chemical cleaners may come in contact with metal.
