Ever since I bought this washer, about 8 months ago, it has been nothing but TROUBLE. The water level never rose high enough to clean my clothes; I always had to double rinse. The clothes were often wet at the end of the cycle; I had to put them through a Drain & Spin cycle, before putting the clothes into the dryer.
Finally, I called Maytag Service line. They sent a repair technician, who told me that the Control Board (W11399433) was bad and that the drain pump was running while the unit was trying to fill. He also told me that was dangerous to leave the unit plugged in, so I am leaving it unplugged. The Technician said that the Board was on back order. I ordered it immediately, I was told that the wait for a Board to be delivered was at least 21 days. I tried several phone calls to several Maytag Customer Service people. They all refused to do anything. Apparently this is a wide spread problem. Maytag is trying to keep ig quiet. My advice, don't by from Maytag or their parent company, Whirlpool.
Desired outcome: Get me the board by next Monday, it's already been a week, or give me a new machine or, better yet my money back so I can buy a machine that works.,
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I'm having a similar problem. I bought the MVWC465HW3 version of this unit 8 months ago and it is having intermittent problems like yours. I called warranty service and they won't send anyone out for over 2 weeks, then they offered to schedule me earlier and the repair subcontractor called with an even LATER date than originally scheduled. Maytag's "appointment" calendar is pure fiction and the ACTUAL date will be later.
This is for a rental property and my tenants are ready to KILL me! If this is a control board which it sounds like based on behavior it could be...then that extra "order time" is going to put my tenants over a MONTH with no washer!
I'm so tired of the boiler plate responses and lack of ACTION to fix this poorly designed product. Ha! Those "We regret that your appliance is not living up to your standards..." patronizing stuff is so awful.
It is simply RIDICULOUS that I have to spend more time on the phone with Maytag than it would take the technician to repair it. This truly is just CRAZY!
Don't buy Maytag...I wish I could recommend another brand but they all seem to aspire to the same low bar of customer-no-service. What a great business model slogan: "We suck...but so does everyone else!"
Thank you to share your bad experience and great board to allow customers express grievance. I bought this same model as above and have had same problem water level lower and wet clothes when the washer done light on. I have manually reset drain/spin again before using dryer. I bought this machine in December last and about 8 months and 5 service calls were made and replaced shifter actuator that only is working a few times. This does not fix wet clothes problem. I am worry about this machine may have same problem control board, but technician showed me the error code unbalance loaded. Every time the technician always show me the unbalance loaded the machine does not spin well therefor the wet clothes occurs. I told we spend $800 for new washer machine do I have drain/spin twice? I complain it to Maytag they refuse to take machine back because the repair part is only done one should be three times They don't care how many time services call to deal the same issue. This washer machine keeps me crazy every time I load clothes. Customers should file class action lawsuit to demand Maytag takes fully responsibility for this washer machine!
Buy a Speed Queen, Maytag has been selling these machines for years knowing they are garbage and don't clean. People have had numerous parts replaced and the same problems persist. I'm telling EVERYBODY about my HORRIBLE experience with a new Maytag washer. NEVER another Maytag for my family, friends or work mates. I'm telling EVERYBODY online and elsewhere.
I'm having the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS, ALL OF THEM! I'VE HAD IT! I KNEW this had to be a widespread problem! Thanks for speaking out!
Sure wish I had read this BEFORE this machine purchase!
I bought this machine late 2022. The final spin makes the washer shake violently regardless of the load being balanced or not and the fact that it IS on a level floor. Water sensor is wacky; puts about the same low volume of water in regardless of load size. I have to use the hot setting just to get mildly warm water. I have to "babysit" this washer during the entire process. Started to initiate warranty service call but after reading the horror everyone goes through after that, felt it best just to abandon the idea. Trapped with a dysfunctional machine. But Maytag has it made; too afraid to act on their warranty! This is unacceptable. Never ever another Maytag.
I don’t think it’s professional to pay $5 just to ask a question. Seriously what ever happened to common curtesy I bought a Maytag only because it is supposed have this so called craftsmen ship. I should of stuck with my gut feeling and went with Samsung sad to say. Made in the USA What a bowl of crap
same kind of buggy problems . like it has a mind of its own and turns off when ever it wants , doesnt drain all the time and sometimes doesnot unlock the door..
