I have a quiet series 300 also, I may as well wash all the dishes by hand because if I put them in the dishwasher with ANY food on them, it will still be there when it's done "washing" them and I'll have to do it anyway. That's even with EVERY feature turned on despite that it takes forever to NOT clean the dishes. I've had it for a year, it's the WORST dishwasher I have EVER used. The door latch stopped working about a week after the warranty was up so now we have to pry it out with a knife to get it to latch so it will NOT wash the dishes. Basically it's a $400+ dollar sanitizer and a waste of water and electricity. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. Any future purchases will be Kenmore.

Well, I don't feel so bad now after reading all these comments. Thanks so much for taking the time to post them. My QuietSeries 300 is 10 years old and recently stopped completing the wash cycle. I really never had any problems with it until this year when it stopped finishing the cycle, and stopped draining. I had to replace the cracked racks a couple years ago, but that's it. Dishes were clean--for the most part; really have to ensure they're clean before loading the machine, which really just sterilizes them in my mind. Anyway, I disassemble the inside of the tub and found a big clump of rust next to a two-pronged plastic sensor-looking thing in the channel on the left of the drum. Have no idea what it is but it can't be good. I'm guessing time for a new one.

The amazing Maytag or mayrag quiet series Dishwasher that I researched before purchasing in 2003 and installing in our new home is the biggest piece of crap that I have ever purchased. Within the first 2 months the silverware baskets broke, the door latch stopped working and we played a game where you would count the number is food particles that were left on all the dishes after a wash cycle (if you want to call it a wash cycle). This past summer I spent half a day taking apart the inside unit to see what was not working. After enduring the stench of filthy water loaded with food chunks (the grinding blade was duller than a butter knife) and a slime layer covering everything I touched I concluded that I was done with this piece of crap.

I purchased Kenmore (I asked plumbers what they would buy) from Sears for $200 less than what I paid for the Mayrag and lo and behold, the dishes are clean, I cannot even hear the unit run and our satisfaction is beyond our dreams.

Just like GM and Chrysler who took bail out, I will make my purchases based on more than what the internet "experts" say to get.

I HATE this dish washer! As most of you have stated above, it does NOT clean dishes... I thought it was my water pressure/hard water where I live that was to blame. I'm not one for washing dishes before I put them into the dish washer, so I thought maybe it was my fault too.. The controle panel on mine broke as well... had to have a service guy come out and fix it. Of course when he got here, he didn't have the correct parts. So he came back days later with the correct one. While he was here I was minding my own business with my kids and when he finished and left I didn't give it a second thought. That evening I went to do the dishes and he had messed it up cosmetically. There was a big ole dent where he had pried it open to work on it... "Thanks Maytag Guy, Really appreciate it!" I didn't call back to complain or anything because I figured it would have just been a nightmare. Next the seal broke. Well, not broke, but corroded might be the right word... it just started crumbling. So we replaced that on our own. Then the door wouldn't latch properly, it would stick and get off its hinges or something. It was bizarre. THEN, last but not least, the heating element overheated on me today. I thought my house was going to burn down. Fortunately I traced the burning smell to the dishwasher and caught it before it burst into flames, but had I not been home? Lord knows what would have happened! I want my money back! But I've had this piece of crap for over 2 years now. Ugh! Never again Maytag... NEVER AGAIN!

I too have troubles with the Maytag series 300...it stops working after about 2 mins from starting..I took a chance & replaced the computer panel, thinking it was a timer issue, but still does the same thing..Back when I heard that Maytag was bought by another company, I told my wife that the quality was going to decline & it appears it did..The Maytag i bought in 94 worked way better than the one bought in 2005..Those idiots at the top of Whirlpool ruined a good thing..I would not now buy a Maytag or a Whirlpool...I just wish that I had looked at this site before I bought the part..

This is THE WORST dishwasher I have ever purchased or owned. One must wash the dishes prior to placing in the dishwasher or the dishes will NOT be clean! This is basically a piece of JUNK! It is a lot of money for a sanitizer. I had always owned Kenmore in the past and it will be another Kenmore before I would ever consider a Maytag after this poor excuse for a dishwasher!

I have a Maytag dishwasher and it sucks! very 1st dishwasher I have ever owned and I think I'm going to be washing dishes by hand until I can afford another dishwasher( NOT A MAYTAG! ) soap compartment door is broke and doesn't clean dishes at all (even when the soap door wasn't broke) What a rip off! I am going to make it a personal goal to convince everyone I know to, not purchase any Maytag appliances!

I have been hasseling with my dishwasher since i have owned it. It runs longer then any dishwasher I have ever had and does not clean the dishes. leaves food and spots. Also I wash my stainless steel knives and the washer leaves rust spots on them as well as my cookie sheets. So frusterated thought I bought onethat would make me happy for a long time. Going to shop for new one. Any suggestions of what tp buy? I know it will not be a maytag !

All of my appliances at home are Maytag but after this bad experience with their costumer service/tech, I will never buy a Maytag brand again. I called Friday, a service guy came in Saturday for 5 min & ran out quickly stating "he gotta go". Then I needed to repeatedly call to have an answer by Thursday that my fridge could not be fix & I need to buy a new one. If I didn't call, I could just wait forever. This is a 4 years fridge, at $1379 before tax. Too expensive to be broken so soon. I am very disappointed that it broke just after 4 years. However, It's not the fridge that upset me but the service, it is really terrible.

I have been struggling with our "Quiet" series 300 for ages - the dishes on the top rack have all sorts of bits dried on to them - and anything with a concave surface (pointing up) ends up with a slimy liquid - maybe just detergent - at the end of the cycle. I wont go through all the repairs we have had, they are pretty much covered above, but recently I replaced the chopper and the filter, which was an easy job, to see if that helped. No. I checked the top spray bar - and it looked like there was something missing, like a cover to direct the water stream. Someone, please tell me how that top spray bar is supposed to work. I have water flow to the top but the bar doesnt rotate at all. No surprise considering the design of the bar. Either the top spray bar design was never finished or it was designed by someone who had no idea about water flow. It can't work.
Sounds like a class action to me.

My husband and I purchased a refrigerator from Sears and have had nothing but trouble with it. It is a Maytag and it is a piece of crap. The salesman was awful. He was so busy trying to push a "service plan" on us for HALF THE COST OF THE ITEM it was difficult to get our questions answered. Because the item was a “manager's special” we were treated like we should not care that it does not work properly. Maytag and Sears have both declined to help us. The deliverymen were horrible and there was a dead cockroach in the bottom of the refrigerator. This has been an awful experience and I will never buy from Sears or Maytag again. I seriously caution anyone who chooses Sears. They sell broken product and will refuse to help you unless you buy a $600 service plan. SCAM!

Parts of this complaint doesn't make a great deal of sense to me either. Is the refrigerator under warranty? If so, where did you make the purchase? Is this Warrantech or Marta a third party warranty company?

My Name is ***** and I am at the point of tears. We first walked into a Sears store on March 6th to purchase a dishwasher in Monroe Michigan. The sales person said we needed to order it online since the store was closing. On March 8th we purchased the dishwasher(order# 3********) with my Sears card. we waited to the scheduled delivery date which was March 28th. On March 28th the Installation dept. called and said the dishwasher had been lost and it would not be delivered. We then called customer solutions and talked to many different case workers over the next few days. We finally talked to an case manager named Amy in Arizona who promised us a upgraded dishwasher because the dishwasher was out of stock, (order # *******). She said she couldn't just order it because we had to wait until they re-credited the amount before we could purchase it. We were never able to contact Amy again. On March 31st I called and reordered the dishwasher and I was promised a delivery date of Friday April 13th with installation. Yesterday my husband received a call letting us know they had problems with the paper work and they were going to work to get us our dishwasher by Friday. I was worried about the Friday delivery date so I called Customer Solutions once again tonight and spoke to another case manager in Arizona named Leticia, She informed us we received an email earlier today, but was unaware of any problems with the delivery of our dishwasher. She told us our dishwasher was in the system to be delivered after April 18th. When I disconnected with her I checked my emails and they stated they reprocessed my Dishwasher(without my permission) and will call me April 18th to let me know when they will deliver the dishwasher. I have been waiting since March 8th for my dishwasher to arrive. I do not understand why sears can not get me a dishwasher, since I ordered one over a month ago! I have talked to several Case workers and so far no one has actually been able to get my dishwasher to me. We have been without a dishwasher and have been eagerly waiting and very disappointed every time Sears messes up the order. I am at my wits end and I was wondering if there was something you could do to get us our dishwasher? We are unsure who else to turn to. Thank you for your time. It is now April 17th, we were promised our dishwasher would be delivered today, we wait ed thru the time frame and no dish washer. We called online solutions again and they said "someone must have gave your dishwasher to someone else" installation then said it will be delivered on the 18th and we would get a call tonight with a new time frame, but we waited till 9:00 pm and they never called! I then contacted the installation dept again and the girl stated they don't call at night, they call in the morning and she tells all her customers that. I then asked to speak to a manager because she wouldn't help me any further and she said she would love to and transferred me to a dept which was closed. I called back spoke to someone else and she said they do call at night and she called the installation guy for me. He did not answer his phone, so she said she left a message and they will call first thing in the morning. i am not holding my breath! ef45a4

Here is my "conversation" with a Maytag customer service associate regarding my broken handle on a Quiet Series 300/ Model# MDB8600AWW-(Yes, Quiet Series-because it hardly works +just sits in the kitchen-quietly!) ... Erin M: Thank you for contacting Maytag! My name is Erin M I will be with you momentarily.
Erin M: Thank you again for contacting Maytag Mr. R. I am searching your model now.
Erin M: I do apologize Mr. R. The handle is no longer manufactured separately from the latch. [protected] has been replaced by W10130694.
J R: I used to be able to fix this frequent repair for $5.00 ...now it seems that we have to spend 5 times plus that amount to repair it? How can that be good for the consumer?
Erin M: I can certain understand your frustration and disappointment. We in customer service cannot answer why the change was made.
Erin M: Is there anything else I may assist you with?
J R: The ONLY thing broken is the handle! Who do I complain to? Consumer Reports or ?
Erin M: You may be certain your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate department for review. This change has been place for several years now.
J R: Maytag makes a crappy dishwasher these days, coasting on their reputation from years ago. Then when a problem rears its head, they will not stand behind their product. Instead they suggest a service call which might cost far more than putting the money toward a replacement with another brand. Look at Consumer Reports and avoid Maytag.
So the weak handle on my Maytag breaks regularly and I bought spares at six dollars apiece and changed them out when necessary. Now they stop production as they replace it with this three times more expensive 'fix' for this dilemma.
Like a lot of others, the door latch on my Maytag dishwasher broke, and I ordered this to repair it.
J R: These comments are online complaints by others...
J R: Not good PR for Maytag
J R: I think they should have had a recall if they knew there was a problem with the design...and changed it!
Erin M: I researched your specific model and am unable to explain what factors have contributed to your concern, since no recalls or known issues are present. If a recall is presented in the future, you will be notified directly.
Erin M: Thank you again for contacting Maytag. We appreciate and value your business. If you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Maytag again. We are available 8 am to 8 pm M-F EST.
Erin M has disconnected.----NICE RESPONSE?

18 month old Maytag Quiet Series 3000. Touch activated buttons gradually went out. Then the machine shut down complete. I called Maytag who told me it was recalled as a firehazard. My options were to have someone fix the firehazard, which they said was unrelated to the button problem. My guess is that the problem is the control board or the touch panel. We're talking probably a couple hundred in parts.

Likely, I'll have to buy another. I looked it up and Maytag was bought by Whirlpool. Whirlpool sells under a number of brands. As you can guess, I'll be avoiding any product under the Maytag or Whirlpool lable (or any of it's other brands).

Kind of a shame. Maytag had a great reputation at one point.

We bought a maytag washer 7 yrs ago and it never worked properly from day one. we/ve had a repairman out almost yearly and always told me just run it till it breaks. (we had a warranty) well, now the transmission is shot and it's been three weeks waiting for the part. I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG OR FROM SEARS AGAIN AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES. I HOPE THIS GETS TO THE BIG SHOTS UPSTAIRS, BECAUSE ANYONE I KNOW WILL HEAR ABOUT YOUR SERVICE. my husband has been a sears customer for 50 years and we will not be customers anymore.

7 - 9 years could be considered normal. "with Sears for 50 years ... bought warranties, " Wow, you could have retired rich if you didnt spend your money on their exhorbitantly priced service plans which you obviously fell for hook, line and sinker.
With a little research, you would have known that the "Maytag" name is in name only after it was purchased by Whirlpool. Their machines comes off the Whirlpool production lines and no longer have the quality (distiinctively better parts) that the Maytag company long ago prided itself on.

Also 3 weeks for a part - you can check them on this by getting the part # and doing a search on Ebay for the same. It could be a circuit board made overseas. 2-3 weeks it not necessarily outrageous as well.

I have a Maytag fridge that the handles and the bracket that is between the freezer door has changed colour, i called Whirlpool (who now handles Maytag appliances) and was told there is nothing that they can do, I know this is not from cleaning products or oil from hands as i never touch the bracket and the handle is completely a different colour not just where the hands touch it, I think we should have been told that after 9 yrs your fridge will do this

On 8/20/2012 a repairman arrived to repair our Maytag washer. The washer required the transmission to be replaced. He ordered the part and returned a few days later. The washer is fixed and works fine. The problem is he took the $500.00 bad part back to his facility, packaged it and UPS'd it to a Rebuild facility. UPS delivered it us instead. Now we have it setting in our garage. After three phone calls and two emails to Sears Blue Service Crew no one has picked up the part. Note: it is now 9/24/2012. Even though my wife and I have called three times and talked to someone all three times no one follows up and no one calls back after promising to do so. They have until Thursday to resolve the issue (This morning someone at their service facility promised to have UPS pick it up). Thursday is TRASH day.

My name is Liz and I am a member of the Sears Social Media Support Team. I saw your post and wanted to reach out to you and offer some assistance. I am sorry that we have let you down. I can see how frustrating it is to have a transmission delivered to your home and no one has picked up the part. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator nearly 3 years ago and the white frame surrounding the glass cracked on the left side then broke, so called Maytag for a replacement. I was informed that the replacement would cost $157. To say that I was shocked would be an under statement considering that frame was nothing but plastic, so why should have to pay $157 when there was nothing wrong with the glass? Well I was informed that it wasn't sold separate and there was no alternative, because I was concerned that this may happen again in 2 years. Now, I probably wouldn't be so upset if I had children but there's no one using the refrigerator but myself so I complained to the complaint center and was told that my concerns will be documented.

I am truly disappointed in Maytag because there was a time when they took pride in the products and services. Now it seem that the consumers aren't as important as they used to be.

I bought a maytag washer thru brandsmart and i have had it only for a while and the tub inside was defected so we called them out and they send the tub and left on my porch and than a couple of days later, they sent out a repair man and it took all day to fix, then the same problem happened again, and we called them back out again and it took them for ever to get a person out here than when they did send someone out here he did not wait but a couple of mins, and then left because there was a dog under 10 lbs. and he was afraid to get out of the car, and they called me i was in back of house but he knew i was gonna be home all day, and a friend of mine was coming into my drive-way and told the man i was for sure home cause he had me on the phone and told the repairman to turn around and he would see that he got in the door, (away from the little dog) but the man flew off fast as he could as never came back,

today he was here again, i made sure the dog was inside tight up and he was only here last than 3 mins. and he said oh i know whats wrong with it its the same as before, and said he would order the part again and come back soon, so i got on the phone with Maytag to try to get them to strenght out the warranties because it will expired de. 14th of this year, but they would not without charger us more, but i feel that since we have the same problem they should just give us a new washer and we could get warranties on the new one, but since its the same problem and they are just changing the tub again, i feel they should give us a new one but they were hateful on the phone and said they did not care what i done, it was all on me to do whatever i wanted to do, they did not care, that is BAD service to me i think i own a business and i would never do my customers like that. thank you for hearing m out and i want everyone to know how i was treated..

Door has been leaking very little, probably more like a vapor, we have just found, the hard way. This small amout of condensation has worked under the 3 year old cabnets, wood floors and new house. Now, all of a sudden. The hardwood is lifting from the subfloor. Thank you very much cheaptag. I hope the bean counters are happy they kept the company afloat with their unethical and lack of integrity practices. I wish my company was too big to care. I would surely sell you bean counters snake oil and junk. Thank you

As with the numerous other owners of this defective Maytag model MVWC6ESWW1 washer I am extremely mad. How can a brand that We have trusted for years to provide quality appliances turn around so quickly? Two years out of a washer... That's a joke! I wish I had known of this site prior to purchasing this washer and I would have saved myself all this grief. If any one has any suggestions for saving some of the repair cost please let me know... Like a lot of Americans I am on a limit income now and cant afford to throw good money after bad! Shame on you Maytag!

Looks like there are thousands with the same problem. I can not belive for a 5 year old moderate priced dishasher I have already replaced control panel/touch panel 2 years ago, I have replaced handle once, and now control panel/touch pad fried again. LOOKS LIKE VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL (MDBTT60AWW). MATAG SHOULD REIMBURSE AT LEAST $300.00 from this $459.00 unit to make up for trouble associated with this OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE unit. I DID CALL MAYTAG AND REPS WERE NO HELP AT ALL. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL and NEITHER WILL FAMILY, FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES AFTER I TELL THEM THE STORY OF THIS TERRIBLE UNIT.

Hi, I had dishwasher installed in 2009 and needed repair man to fix control panel . Again now it's 2013 and same issue control panel won't work to start machine. This is horrible for a piece to last 3 years with problems in between.

There is a class action lawsuit in Califonia for these problems. They are expanding to Florida. I would recomend Maytag try to satisfy some of its customers. Attny name Andrew Kubik - Phone [protected] and their email ajk@eppsteiner.com. Jeff

My wife and I specifically bought a Maytag washer (MVWC6ESWW1) Centennial model because we thought buying a Maytag would mean a washer that would not break down for years. Well, in less than two years it just stopped working--the water will not drain and all you hear is a buzz. No motion, no movement, nothing. I am disappointed in the product and I see that there are numerous complaints about the same issues! I cannot afford a repair person and I do not have time to troubleshoot the machine due to my job. My wife is having to do laundry at a relative's house which is somewhat embarrassing, especially when you make weekly trips there for nothing other than to use their washer. This is an unpleasant situation and I am wondering what can be done about it. Anyone satisfied with Maytag's customer service? I believe there is a charge for "help" they give you, correct? Either way, additional cash outlay on a relatively new machine is unacceptable. Davy

I live on st.Croix virgin islands. I bought a may tag bravos energy saving HE washing machine from sears/Kmart store. I bought it in 2011, I have repaired that washer twice already and it"s not working now. I am very disappointed with the product. I spent a lot of money for it. The money I would pay to repair it is best if I bought a new one. What am I going to do with that washer it is brand new no scratches. I don't have little kids i am two only one who operates the washer. I am disappointed and pissed off.

WE have this problem on our Maytag lower rack wheels kept falling off. We had extended Service warranty from Lowes which did not help us any. Lowes gave us trouble. Two lessons: one do not buy any US brand Foreign made ****, buy Samsung or Bosch. Two, do not buy from a company that gives you trouble after selling you an extended service warranty. Which includes Lowes, Sears and Best Buy.
Buy good product - do not buy Extended Service warranty it is a scam - the frustration from fighting these ### to get service will harden your arteries. Get parts and schematics from RepairClinic dot com. There may be local appliance parts supplies stores.
