rebates
I have been submitting rebates from Menards for as long as they have been doing it and never have I thought twice about it. This summer was a big project summer and I was spending tons of money there. It seemed like for 3 months straight there was the 11% rebate on anything. This time, in every mailing I added up all of the rebate receipts and stapled them to a copy of the rebate form. I triple checked my math and wrote amounts on my copy of the rebate. Well, you know where this is going. I just received 2 of the 5 rebates that I submitted and both were short ( one for 9 bucks and the other for 5 ).
Yes, I did get back over $100 and $40, but they did short me none the less.
Again I at least triple checked my addition. Rebater beware ... you will be screwed if you send in more than one receipt. Take pictures of all submitted receipts.
dissatisfaction with service
We purchased a garage door kit and garage door. We paid for two separate deliveries (1 for the materials and 1 for the trusses). When the kit arrived, my husband was there. The garage kit was missing all the hardware, which our contractor supplied. It was also missing the 2x6's for the facia, which my husband had to go to the store for. He had to keep going back to the store multiple times for various things that were missing. Then we ordered 35-year dimension shingles and were given 30-year 3-tab shingles! Back to the store again with our contractor to get the right shingles! Now, today, September 17th (we did not want to pay another $69.00 deliver charge for this item), when he went to pick up our garage door, he was given the wrong size door! He was given a 12-foot door instead of a 16-foot door! So back to the store again to get the right door, which thankfully they did have! But it was another whole morning wasted! And then, to top that off, the employee forklift driver started getting lippy with my husband! Very unprofessional service! We have spent alot of money at Menards and have had nothing but dissatisfaction with this purchase! I don't think we will be going back to Menards if this is the kind of products and service you keep providing! We would like a little compensation for the time and money having to keep going back and forth to Menards to get our right products! Maybe a gift card? Maybe a garage door opener?
management
To whom it may concern,
On Saturday of September 8th, 2017. Between the time of 9:15pm to 9:30pm, Tom Davis, assistant receiving manager at Menards, said and I quote, " I heard you gave John a stern talk to the other night, things that are meant to be private aren't going to be private if they radiant throughout the house."
As a former victim of sexual assault I left in tears and reported this.
No investigation has taken place and my boyfriend was instructed to tell me to remain outside the store and away from him in the workplace whenever I come to the store from his general manager Tim Strasser. I've waited a week for any action to take place and I'm now outsourcing to submit my complaint. The situation remains ignored.
Tom Davis has also made alleged sexual response to my boyfriend after I have exited the facility about my body. He has been notified already about his approach and his immature and offensive behaviors by higher management prior before this event; from former witnesses to this behavior.
I do not feel comfortable around the facility, let alone the property, in fear of another event in the same manner to follow. To my understanding, the general manager, Tim Strasser, at the Escanaba Menards inc. has been informed by the front end employee, Krista, who was informed by another assistant manager I spoke to about the situation, Ronald Warner, And has been handled with no urgent at all; hidden from the discussion.
This issue needs to be addressed appropriately and professionally at the upmost importance by law.
customer service/ delivery
-Ordered IDEAL garage door 6-8-2017.
-Door was delivered damage, new door was ordered, damaged door was installed to keep storage cost down until new door arrived, menards didn't want to pay for storage. Also, door locks and seals where not sent with door I had to pick up locks, and they sent seals FedEx 2 months after original order.
-Replacement door was ordered and delivered to the store where it was damaged, apparently someone almost died when the delivery truck drove away from the dock while unloading, this was told to me by the store manager.
-Lots of emails back to store manager about getting a discount for the installation of the door twice, my time picking up items that were not delivered, this comes to over $500, menards offered $125 in gift cards and ideal offered $75, the math doesn't work out.
-I was told 2 weeks ago I would have the door by the end of the week but after calling the vendor myself I found out it won't be delivered until Sept. 18.
-today I was told to go to the website and check the status, if I wanted to do all the leg work I would have ordered online and got rid of the middle man
-menards has rarely contacted me with updates. I've been doing all the leg work.
-I want my door and to be compensated for the money I'm out due to people not doing there job properly and not following through with a sale.
I will never recommend the menards in Ann arbor, Michigan or Ideal door
Since all of the delays in my build the driveway has now been installed and they are now unable to drive there vehicle on it, sucks for them!
ugly chair
Here's a new scam devised by Menards: We sent all paperwork in with plenty of time to spare for a $50 rebate. Wondered where the rebate check was. Instead, got the envelope back stamped "Postage Due" and Return to Sender. It looks like Menards stamped it postage due, not the post office. Oh, did I mention, no postage was due?! Super light envelope with new Forever stamp. And isn't it clever of Menards to have the send-to address contain exactly which rebate it's for -- so they can pull their tricks on ones that are for high value? With the postage-due scam, they don't even open the envelopes at all. We were so excited to start shopping at Mean-ards but the love affair is over. That was FAST. Also, their employees are awful. They all talk to each other and look at you like you're intruding when you ask for help. Horrible place!
blinds
Went to Menards southwest Cedar Rapids, Iowa to purchase Blinds on 9/3/17 we purchased window images blinds item #[protected] I asked for them to be cut 70 5/8 of an inch. I went and looked at flooring while wife waited for blinds. Got home and went to install and menards cut them 68 1/2 the drawstring we're all tangled I spent about a half-hour untangling them. This had been purchased by another customer as the screws had drywall powder all over them. Needless to say I am very disappointed.
guest service
Hello,
I was at the Menards store in Dundas yesterday and had a disheartening experience when my fiancé and I checked out our items. Bridgett was extremely rude and made us feel like a nuisance. We were not greeted, or even acknowledged when we got to the register. There was no eye contact made with us... I honestly felt like we were invisible, not one word was spoken to us until she told us what our total was. I also want to add that I had a voucher coupon for (I believe it was) $2-$200 dollars (which is scanned at the register to reveal the amount you received), and she didn't even tell me how much it was for, I had to ask. I thought that was really rude. We like Menard's but this was a really bad experience for us. We did not feel appreciated. I sure hope she doesn't treat every guest like this, and if so, I would recommend re-training her on the basics of guest service. A smile, a hello and a thank you goes a long way and those simple things are what means the most to me (a paying customer).
Thank you for your time,
Sarah
quartz countertop
So I just spent about $6000 at Menards in Baxter, in updating our townhouse. They have a clearance area where they get returns called "Rays Bargains" which you can get really good deals sometimes. I found a quartz countertop close to what I was looking for and offered them $350 for it. They declined my offer and two days later let one of their contractor buddies buy it for $200. I complained to the GM Mark and he said "tough." What type of ethical company is being run here?
pricing on a hose
I purchased two sections of flexzilla garden hose this morning at store 3084. The sections were clearly divided between 50', 75', 100' hoses.
There were tags for $29.99 on each section. The 50' section and the 75' section. So I purchased the 75' hose. At the register they were $49.99. I met two managers on duty (sorry I didn't get their names) and they said they would not honer the pricing even though each section is individual.
So long story short I feel they should at least honered the price or given me a merchandise credit to use on the future. I am a contractor and have bought here for years. I am not a major hitter but steady. Please let me know if you will do in reguards to this matter.
rewards
I mailed in a rebate of almost $70 over 6months ago. Within the rebate date time. I mailed the whole receipt not the bottom only. Someone at the rebate center decided to keep my rebate. I have my receipt with my credit card purchase date from my store I had printed out again. Yet the rebate center will not email me back or investigate after contacting them via email. I would like to know who was a thief working for me. Beings I am a business owner myself. I will be contacting better business berea. My email [protected]@mail.com. Still would like my rebate or something of equal
a rebate
I mailed a rebate #417 after purchasing Delta faucets on 5/20/17. I have yet to receive the promised amt. of the rebate. I sent a concern to you about this earlier with no response. I sent in all the necessary paperwork for this rebate, but have received nothing. If rebates are promised, they should honor them. Customer/ Ronald Marks. 8503 Smyrna Pkwy. Louisville, Ky 40228. charged wrong price, employee rude
Over a weeks time I bought 6 door knobs. The sticker price on the items were $24.99. I was getting a receipt ready to return one of the door knobs, so I could get a different style, when I noticed I was being charged anywhere from $26.99 to $28.99 for the door knobs. When I brought it to the Menards employee, I was told I was responsible for informing Menards that they're prices were wrong, so they refused to give me a refund and tried charging me a higher price on the new knob than was tagged. They tried to tell me that prices must have been changed to the wrong price after I bought the first 6. Since when is it my JOB to make sure your prices are tagged right on the floor and how am I supposed to know what the correct prices are? If that's the case you should be paying me. I sometimes buy a large amount of items and don't always pay attention when checking out what I am being charged. I thought your employees were very rude.
service
Can't wait until we get a Home depot, or Lowe's in are area. Tired having to put up with your employees. Although its probably not all there fault. Usually upper management is the problem. But it will truly be nice to get a decent store in or area. And working for the company that generates the most jobs in the area, I'm not alone. Its very aggravating driving 60 mile round trip to pick up an order that your company say, s is ready, only to get there and the order is not complete.
midwest manufacturing ultradeck picnic table
I first would like to say my wife and I have been shopping at Menards since the store opened in my town and until now we have had zero complaints about anything . In May of 2015 at the Menards store in Port Huron Michigan my wife and I purchased your Midwest Manufacturing Ultra Deck Picnic table for the price of $687.94
Every winter since we purchased the table we covered it, the first year we even put the table in storage. The reason we paid so much money for this table is because it was supposed to last. The second year we had it we noticed the untreated wood was already rotting from water damage under one of the seats, last year one of the seats completely gave out on someone. This year when we got it out I decided to replace the bad untreated wood with treated and discovered every single piece of wood had rotted. I'm truly hoping something could be done about this it was a great deal of money for us that we spent on this table to only enjoy it for one season.
Sincerely,
John & Becky Mayes

4/21/2018 update just put one together yesterday and the entire support frame underneath table benches along with legs are all pressure treated lumber combined with the composite decking material this table should last for quite sometime!
service
I have been on your website several times to try and find a way to compliment a couple employees. I still cannot find anywhere to do that so Im hoping whoever gets this can pass along this information. I shop at your Chesterfield Michigan store and just want to tell you that Carl that works in the brick pavers area outside and Brandon who works in the tool area inside are both very good employees. I see Brandon alot and he is always very helpful, noticing that I am looking for help, walking me to something I cant find, telling me about a product. Whatever it is at the time, he is very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I have only dealt with Carl a few times but he was very helpful and friendly in finding things for me and helping me load them. I just want someone to know that these are two great employees that you need to recognize and be thankful for having. Thank you, in advance, for your help in getting this to the correct person. Have a great day.

I was wondering if you would reconsider your decision to stop selling Brach Malted milk or malt balls candy. I know it may sound like a silly request but every time my wife and I went to Menards we would buy at least 2 or 3 bag. The last few times we were there, there wasn't any. I checked with an employee today and they checked on it and said it was going to be discontinue. My wife and I sure hope you reconsider this decision because Menards was the only place in Kansas City Missouri to buy then. I know it's not a big deal. But if you would start selling them again I know you would have at least 2 people happy... Thank you
water boss 700
Water softener bought at Mendard's and installed in October 2015. Stopped working in early June-the unit was running but not performing (water was unsoftened) repeated calls to customer service, including Rick the supervisor who sent a replacement part for a different unit than ours, have resulted in a big fat zero. There is no one in the St. Louis area to fix it even though it's still under warranty. Talked to Menard's and tried to get advice from them - pretty much "too bad, so sad".
We're stuck with a $450 unit plus $250 installation fee from local plumber. The joke is on us.
chaise umbrella combo!
Hi !On august 10 2017 I went to Menard's for wallpaper.
The store in Cincinnati reading rd, next to Walmart superstore!
Having obtain information regarding my search I had small items
I wanted to purchase before leaving the store. On the way to checkout
I saw a item at reduce price stating on tag said unadvertised!
The price was to good to pass up and I was given to an associate about
availability and stated that there were two left beside the one on display.
He checked his inventory and asked me to walk with him to see if it was
on another garden erea display. So he commence to explain maybe someone
has taken it and the last one is left that we saw.He was kind enough to wrap
it up and give it to me, and I said to him will I need a ticket that has the price
and he said no they should have it.Went to check item with cashier and she
said item wringing up at regular price.I told her that there was a sale price
indicating that it was unadvertised at 10.99.It was regular price at 49.99.
She went to the general manager and he looked into it with associates evolved.Manager introduced himself as gen.manager and stated to do the mailing rebate that was advertised now, I said no I want what was advertised on the chaislounge chair. No that was a common thing that customer do every
now and then.My position is internal problem of the store fix it.I want the price I saw.Well he went around what my demands were.and I asked to speak
with a district manager for my complaint! He saw a sitting chair with umbrella for 34.99 he would bargain at 24.99 I hesitated and said 17.99 its a deal.We shook hands on it, but business end he won, cost was about 8.00 and he rather see an unsatisfactory attitude from a customer that has his rites unrevoked!
Not good policy I you see a problem or the associate fix it before someone or anyone would feel shirked about the company responsibility to make right there internal policy conditions.
rebate!
There was a $50 mail in rebate for Menards when I purchased a brand new door
After a month I was checking on the status, and they kept telling me they did not receive any thing. So, I sent another request in with the information and my receipt as I was supposed to do. Another month later I still have not received anything and there was no status on my check
I have emailed them several times and they told me they sent a check on July 1, it is August 11 and I still have not received the check. Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and then they told me they reset the check out last week and I still have not received it… It is coming from one state away and they will not help me and they will not give me my money and I am really pissed
rebate
I submitted my rebate in May, after 4-6 weeks I wrote to them. They said there was a problem and it was sent out on July 25. Here it is August 9 and I still do not have it. I worked at Menards and when I told people to be sure and get their rebate, some would say...why, I never get it anyway. I said, I've never had a problem. And I guess I jinxed myself.
paint
I bought some doors, hardware and paint at a Menards store 35 miles from home.
When I opened the paint (supposed to be white) the can (which was shaken at the store) was not only 75% full, but just the base with no tint.
I had to drive all the way back which took another hour and a half (not to mention a quarter tank of gas).
They exchanged the paint, but when I inquired up the food chain, regarding some money back or a gift card for my time and trouble, the GM (by phone) told the customer service gal "no".
It shouldn't cost me more to "save big money at Menards ".
Not happy.
