I am complaining about item ordered, on march 31 2018 not processed for shipping.
SEDA30105015 Ordered
I spent over 3 hour on the telephone about a Refrigerator that was ordered and paid for on May 31, 2018 and there is no information on the web that the order was processed, shipped or anything. This afternoon, a store Manager (Henry) of Sedelia, MO told me this afternoon "the order is being shipped either today 6-18-18 or tomorrow" and would be at the store in Sedalia in three days". So tonight, 10:25 PM, I checked your web site to determine whether there is documentation that the order was in process and would arrive in three days. Your web site does not validate what I was told. Tomorrow it would be 19 days and my disabled son need the refrigerator! I must say the tentative day for shipping was 6-11-18, then the store appliance manager in Sedelia, Jackie, said it would be shipped on 6-13-18. I complained online and received a email from Ray asking me "if I had checked the web site". Evidently Ray didn't check the web site when I made the complaint or he wouldn't have asked me if I'd check the web site. If he had check he would have known there was no activity except that I had paid for the refrigerator. That indicates to me that Ray needs to be trained to think and be able to help me rather than ask a question. Also, I was told by appliance personnel that they couldn't call or contact the shipper that I had to do the contacting. Today having spent the 3 hour on and off the telephone trying to a store manager and talking with 3 other employees the manager told me he would call me back and tell me my orders disposition. This whole store does not speak well of Menards and I believe this email should be sent to YOU CEO MENARD. If you respond to the email and don't say you are forwarding this to CEO Menard I will send a certified letter with all received emails. Thank you, Dr. James O. Howell
mulch
To whom it may concern,
I believe I am a pretty loyal customer. Like everyone, I have choices and i've voted with my pocket book to shop at menards rather than the home depot.
Unfortunately, my confidence in menards was rocked this weekend. On friday, I purchased 20 bags of "radiant brown mulch" from the pewaukee wi store. This was in addition to the 70 bags I had already purchased.
I made absolutely sure the product description, sku and packaging on the 20 units purchased I purchased on friday was exact the same as the 70 or so bags already purchased, (see attached picture).
Unfortunately, when I got home, unloaded all the product and began spreading it, the color was completely wrong, it was almost black, (see attached picture).
So, I call the pewaukee store, talk to the person responsible for the garden center and explain the situation. His reply was, bring a sample in and we can get you what you should have received. So, thats what I do and when I get to the pewaukee store, they have already gone into the aisle and confirmed that there are in fact 2 different colors of mulch with the same packaging, sku, description, etc.
But, now joel (the assistant store manager) says I need to go back home and load up all the bags that I bought that we incorrect and bring them back. And then he can return them for the right product.
At this point, I have invested 2 round trips from my house to the store, loaded and unloaded the carts and my truck once and he tells me I have to make another round trip to/from the store plus load, unload, load again and unload again just to get what I should have received in the first place. All in, I would have about 4 hours invested in the process + gas and mileage.
Totally unacceptable which is exactly what I told joel who basically told me i'm out of luck.
What would make this right and keep me a loyal menards customer and as a business owner myself would do is to have 20 bags of the correct color mulch delivered to my house. Address is n65w28160 hickory hill drive, sussex, wi 53089.

general manager - josh barrier
The GM at Toledo Menards. I have worked there a while and have noticed a few things about the way he operates. 1. He acts conceded most of the time talking down to people who aren't other GM's. 2. He will berate people anywhere especially over the radio for everyone to hear. 3. I have never seen the guy do any work before. It seems like all he ever does is walk around aimlessly pissing workers off.
Looks like you need a to do list since you have so much time worrying about your boss, and not enough time worrying about you.
large service charge to place special order at menards
I am seeing something on my special order paperwork and if I am correct it appears Menards is charging me $19.99 just for the "privilege" of placing a special order. Please tell me that is no so. Is if MY fault your store does not have products you sell in stock? This is what is says on the billing :
1 each combine pkg &/or hanglingecsdc sku [protected].99
I have never heard of such a ridiculous thing and I have spent 10 of thousands of $ at Menards over the years remodeling houses... and now this?
How I do I keep good relations with you and get refunded this amount... along with the 6% tax on top of that.
You are lucky you didn't need to return anything! They don't state that it is a "special order" and then if you try to return it, they slap on a 25% restocking fee and are jerks about it on top of it all. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MORE MONEY! Go to any other home improvement retailer. Menard's does NOT care. They don't even have a customer service department in their corporate office that will contact you and if they do, it is only to give you a scripted answer and when you ask for a supervisor, they just don't ever respond.
Because you spend soooo much money there doesn’t make you any better than the ones who spend little. You don’t get special treatment. This company will continue to be a billion dollar company
purchase of hetzi column juniper trees
This is just a heads up.
I bought three of these tress on April 21, 2018 at your Illinois Road store in Fort Wayne. I felt fine when I purchased them around 2PM on that Saturday...I planted the trees later in the afternoon and started getting very weak and experienced fatigue. I barely got them planted and had to go in and lie down. my joints started to hurt and I got a two degree fever. I thought I was getting the flue. By Sunday I was worse and couldn't walk without assistance. I went to the ER Sunday around 5PM. Long story short... after all tests...blood pressure.urine, blood, flue swab, EKG, x-ray. the doctor found nothing wrong and suggested it was an unknown virus or perhaps I was allergic to the Juniper trees. I was not in hospital overnight. and was back to work Tuesday. I am wondering if the nursery sprayed those tress with something pretty potent and when I lifted them and got them close to my nose, that insecticide or spray of some sort was a sort of poison. It happened very fast.
I am a CEO of a midsize company and am not going to sue anybody, but I suggest you check with your nursery and see if they might be using some sprays that could be toxic. There are lots of plaintiff attorneys around that would love that sort of case and I am only suggesting you check with the nursery and perhaps send some samples to the lab to verify there not using something toxic.
John F. Popp, President Aunt Millie's Bakeries.
You have no grounds to "sue" anybody if you have no proof. Since you said the doctor found nothing. What’s your proof? There’s not even reasonable suspicion. Don’t run your mouth about another company until you have your facts in line. Look up false accusations and how it relates to you.
I fell while I was exchanging an item in you store.
I bought a paper towel holder Sunday June 3, 2018z at the Miller Parkway store in Milwaukee. The towel holder was so stiff it didn't allow the paper towel to move. After work Monday June 4, 2018 around 6:00p I took the paper towel holder back to the store to exchange for another one. I asked a store employee if I could just pick up the exchange and get back in line. I was told yes, leave your item at the desk, which I did. After selecting a different paper towel holder a $14.99 one instead of the $3.97 one I was walking back to the customer service desk. My foot just started to slide and I came down hard on my left knee. I screamed, beausebit hurt and I was calling the security to acknowledge what happened. No one offered to help me. The security guard met me halfway as I got up from the floor so he could see the resize on the floor which caused me to fall.
A department manager named Brenda cane over. She said after your done you can walk to the back to complete an incident report. I wasn't walking anywhere. I wanted to go home and ice my knee. I got out of line to show this Dept Manager the residue tonhsve to stand back in a longer line.
Once I could return my product I asked for a store manager. I waited 15 minutes to meet with him. I explained what happened, that I was not walking to the back of the store to write an incident report. I just fell remember.
I asked him to acknowledge what happened, simply discount a $14.99 product and call it a day. He said he could not discount the product but he could sell it to me. He said if I wanted to come back to the store to complete the incident report I was welcome to do so. I believe the GM on duty was named Brian.
I have a very swollen knee that is turning a dark purple. I've since taken photos of it. I was told the cameras in set store should show me falling.
I want to be made smoke. I left your store differently from how I walked in. I merely asked that the item be discounted. My knee isn't broken it is however badly swollen and sore.
Menards needs to acknowledge some type of compassion for your customer. I just spent about $1000 after Christmas replacing my cabinets frotndy. I just switched out 3 light fixtures in my house in April. So I am a loyal and steady customer. I left feeling I was shopping in the wrong store. I felt that Manager should have offered me the $24.99 paper towel holder actually free or offer me a gift card of some sort.
So my complaint is that I fell on your store, I have a badly swollen and bruised left knee and I get no compassion or acknowledgement whatsoever. I truly after spending 45 minutes in the store for a five minute exchange wanted to go hone, get off my leg and ice my knee.
Come to Menards and fall and we could care less. Keep shopping with us. I don't want to go back in the store. I've lost all respect for you. I was going to go hone and mow my front law. Not able to do that tonight. Thanks to Menards.

door latch on rollup door.
Menards North Rochester MN. I think it was Monday or Tuesday May 28th or 29th I ordered a latch they said it would be a month before it would come in and they would call when it came in. I waited a month I called they said it came in so I went to pick it up and they searched an hour and couldn't find it, so they said it would be another month before I could get another one. I ask to see the manager and all he could do is call me Buddy, and what he wanted him to do. He should have offered overnight shipping is what he should have did. While I was waiting for the manager to come the young girl behind the counter told me he just couldn't drop everything just to come and deal with me. It is bad for business for a manager to refer to a customer as Buddy maybe he should have said sir, as far as the girl behind the counter you got to many kids trying to run things and they just don't care. I think you must have a lot of problems at that store because while I was waiting for them to look for the latch which I stood there an hour so I seen a lot of what was happening some man wanted something delivered they said they couldn't deliver on till Friday because they between delivery company's and the guy came from Wis. and he only came on Fridays. I think this must be the second or third delivery company since you've opened up that store. Maybe you hire some older people instead all these young people that know something and care about the customer. The manager sure didn't and neither did the young girl behind the front desk. I got my money back, but so you know I will never set foot into another Menards store again. I cancelled my Menards card and all my cards that had capitol one on them. I told them if they were going to do business with a cheap ten cent operation as you people are, they didn't deserve my business. Maybe they can apply a little pressure on you people I don't know why they would want their name associated with Menards, and I told them so. Word of mouth is the worst advertisement you can get. I have never herd of a company that didn't have a phone no. to complain instead you got to type a letter, you must have a lot of complaints. Like I said a cheap ten cent operation. Thank you for your time William Nichols

failing to get anyone to help me with a rebate that I was eligible for!
I ordered 10 sections of fencing during the first day of a rebate campaign and went to the Menards store to pick it up. Due to the unknowledgeable staff at that store, I was failed to get another receipt that I needed to get a $50.00 rebate that I was eligible to receive.
I tried to get assistance by using their web help service and was told that they would take care of it and email me the form but never heard from them again.
I then tried to contact the Customer Service Manager and was rudely treated as if it was my fault that I did not know what I needed to do.
It was my first purchase at any Menards store so I did not know what I was required to do and no one at that store told me so since no one took time to assist me I did not get the paperwork completed in time.
I guess new customers don't count when it comes to getting help!

We are having the same problem! My mother ordered shutters on May 11th and estimated delivery was the 18th. We are still waiting! ! We have called multiple times and even spoke to the store GM and they all say the same thing "Sorry for the inconvenience but they are in transit". We tracked the order and it left Eau claire on June 1st. SO VERY FRUSTRATING! !
entry door panel - defects in staining finish & glue adhesive
We recent purchased a pre-finished fiberglass entry door system for our home. The door system was delivered on 23 May 2018. Upon installation, we observed defective stain finish around the inside door hardware (can see two colors around handle). Also, the door panel had a plastic bag with keys that was adhered to the outside door panel. The bag was very difficult to remove, and it left residue glue behind after its removal. We attempted to remove the glue with warm soapy water, but no luck. After several attempts to remove the residue, we noted that the stain finish was now lighter in color, and appeared to have removed some stain off the panel. Photos were taken before and after this situation.
We have attached the receipts, along with photos. We want Menards to replace the defective door entry panel with same product and model, and have it delivered to our residence.
Thank you,

poor customer service by employees and management
I wanted to by a floor model grill because i needed it for Memorial Day weekend. I was told by the person covering the Grill Department that I could not purchase the floor model because she did not want to put one together. And then came home and called the store again to talk to a manager and the manager told me on the phone that he wouldn't sell me his floor model and that he was comfortable losing cell to another store which I think is egregious to say to a customer I would like to hear back from someone and maybe we can get this Grill purchased
Selling the floor models believe it or not can lose more sales than gained if done on the wrong day. If done on a holiday, there isn’t time to be building another grill because someone was too lazy to build there own. Display are for people to see not to just grab and go. Why even bother selling boxed items.

pick up order
First of all I worked from 0630 to 1430. Came home and went to pickeup an order from Menard's in Columbus NE on Thursday May 17, 2018. It involved pro-rib siding . They loaded order in fork lift onto my trailer. I questions whether this was all the order since I didn't know if the 92" was there with it. She assured me that it was. Left with my order and when I got home I had a message saying "you were right, you don't have all your order." Could I come back the next day and get it. So I called the next AM and talked to someone about the order and asked if they could deliver it "today" (Friday) because I had someone coming to put in on my shed. They said "sure". So I waited about and hour with no call back. Finally when I called back they said there would be a charge. I replied, " this is your fault, not mine" which they agreed with, but it would cost $109 to deliver it the 30 miles to my home. I said OK. But can I get it on my pickup that I didn't want to bring the trailer back, which they said they could. So I went in and picked up the rest of the order. I feel I should get some kind of reimbursement for this whether it be gas or something. I feel this was all uncalled for. Please respond.
Sincerely, Miriam Ostermeier

miss product
We were at the Norton Shores MI location and spent about an hour to order, pay for, and pick up 35 sheets of 3/4 inch OSB. When we went around back to pick it up there was none. They checked the computer and said there was none left in the whole store and they wouldn't be getting any on their next shipment either. At the customer service desk she said the computer said there was 52 sheets in stock but there actually wasn't. We had to borrow a trailer to come buy it and then wasted about an hour only to come away without the thing we came for. This isn't an uncommon product and I've never seen you run out in the past. We were more than a little frustrated and wanted to let you know. Thanks.
menards' rebates program failure is built-in
In the past several years I have grown so sick of trying to manage & follow Menards' rebates program (borderline scam) that I now take the majority of my business to Home Depot and Lowes. There is no question that the Menards rebate program is set up for built-in failure on the consumer's part...
For example: the short time allotted to mail it in by (to file by), the fact that it would be so damn simple to just print out the actual In-Store Merchandise Check at time of purchase (everything is electronic).
In this day and age, there is simply no reason to inconvenience the Customer by having them jump through multiple hoops to file a rebate! Please, Menards, get a clue and treat your remaining Customers right by issuing the In-Store Merchandise Check at time of purchase. Hell, just give us 5 to 10% off at the time of purchase and do away with the scammy rebate program. RIDICULOUS. Signed, Former Menards Customer
faucet
Purchased faucet from Menards 3 weeks ago and installed-control box that controls the water temperature when using the touchless sensor doesn't work. I called customer service to inquire about replacement and was routed to the warranty department. I spoke with representative, didn't get a name the first time. He took all my information and said the company was backlogged and the control boxes would be shipped ASAP! However, I HAVEN'T received anything. I have called back several times and spoke with Jason and Scott and neither were much help! Although Jason did take my contact information again and said the box should arrive tomorrow with UPS. The warranty department folks should be verbally reprimanded and be truthful when customers call to inquire about a product. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE-wish I had bought a different brand...
customer service, garden center entrance always closed.
I own a business locally. When menards first opened in clio, mi we could go to the garden center at 7am, the door was open and get in and out with a load. Or I could stop on my way home at up and grab a load. I have called the store several times regarding this and the front end manager says she doesn't have help for outside, yet 10 cashiers can be standing around on the inside. Tonight I again arrive at up and the door was locked. The young man pushing in carts said I would have to walk the long way around. I got in my car and left with 10 other customers. I will Shop else where. I called the store the front end manager told me she locked the door she didn't have any help. I asked to talk to her boss, Richard came on the line. He didn't know why she locked the door, he would have to look into it. He told me the garden center was open. I am over 60 and I am not hauling loads on flat beds thru the store. I will find a store with customer service at 7am and 7pm. Thank you.
Be grateful the store has garden center doors some menards don’t
building materials/ delivery
In September of 2017 we purchased the material to build a 40x60 house and 40x40 shop.so around December I went in to find out if they had resolved the issue. The told me there inventory was long The 150 or so 2x4s I'm missing. The sales man that sold me the material "said I bet they
Forgot to load a whole page. The delivery driver just dropped it off and left. I've been in the Salina Kansas store countless times trying to get this resolved and keep getting the run-around..
The also delivered the wrong sheeting twice after I returned it.
I also. Sent my wife to pick up the remaining balance of the sheeting. Three hours later they found it
all supplies not delivered
Ordered 32 sheets of OC siding on 4/23/2018. It was delivered on 4/25/2018 to my home. After staining half of the material we noticed that we were 3 boards short. I called the Menards in Warren MI on 4/29/2018 and talked to someone at the service desk and they said to call back on Monday 4/30/2018. I called Josh on 4/30/2018 and he said he would check into it and call me back. I never received a return phone call, so I called again on 5/2/2018 and talked to Josh. He said he realized that they had shorted us 3 sheets but was "surprised no one had gotten back to me". He said he would check to see when we could get the material and would call back... I did not hear from him again, so I called again on the 4th and talked to Josh again, and he said they didn't have 3 more sheets. I asked to talk to a manager to find out why they just couldn't get it from another Menards and he said they were independent from the other Menards. Also he was sorry that I hadn't been told when the delivery first occurred that they had shorted me 3 sheets. After numerous more phone calls and talking to Mendards Inc. they finally chose to get the 3 panels from the Cheterfield store. Unfortunately the driver that delivered the panels today on the 7th who was great wasn't informed by Mendards that he had to drive to the Chesterfield store to get them, he thought they had already been loaded on the truck which made him another 25 minutes late. I am appalled at how it took up so much of my time and energy to have to repeatedly call and not receive any calls back nor any apologies from anyone involved with Menards. This material was paid for and they should have communicated day one that they were short material and how they were going to solve the issue.
unethical employee support.
Menards touts its, open door policy. if you use it, retaliatory action will be aimed at you & will be enforced! there is no support for using, the fake, open door policy! the hr 'professional, ' in my store, is, unethical, biased & most, unfair! if there are proven history issues with a dept. manager, menards will keep the manager in his position & get rid of the justified complaintents. this happened with 5 employees., that I am aware of & no doubt, many more. they were either let go or they quit. the manager stayed in his managerial role. there is no support, for employees, when the employee is right, up & down, the so called, managerial chain! menards allows bullying & no one cares!
