I also have experienced similar accounts of racism around some Midas stores, and especially at the area you have mentioned.

Midas Abusive owner

I worked for Midas of Richmond for 10 months and after several abusive encounters with owner Mark Smith, I decided that I had enough and resigned.
Our last conversation included verbally abusive language including Mark Smith calling me an [censored] and threatening to do everything in his power to put me in jail if I resign. This conversation took place on Tuesday September 21st between 2 and 4 PM on Company Phone line.
Mark Smith's aggressive, abusive behavior has been going on for a long time and has caused many employees to quit working for him.

Desired outcome: compensation for pay loss and psychological impact.

Midas Oil change, brakes, and tires.

I took my 2009 Hyundai Sonata to Midas to get an oil change, brakes, tires, and some other minor things.  They took the car and did the work.  They said I needed new rotors.  I said ok.  Told me I did not need rear brakes.  I asked them if they aligned the car before I left the shop.  The manager said, no, I drove it and it's fine, it drives straight.  I paid over $1500 for the work they did.  On Sunday when I was driving it, it was pulling to the left when I hit the brakes.  I called and spoke to the manager and he said to bring it in and they would check it out.  I took the car in on Tuesday morning, thinking it would be a quick fix.  It was not, I left the vehicle with them after they told me that it needed new calipers since they did not replace the calipers when it was there and they did all the brake work, it ruined the rotors and they needed to replace the rotors also.  Now, this cost me over $500.  I left and drove the vehicle.  Thankfully I got sick and was then able to notice a large leak of oil under my car.  There was no oil left in my car!  We put oil in it and drove it to the dealer the next morning, which was September 16.  The dealer said that whoever did the oil change did not change the oil filter housing.  The dealer replaced the O rings that were needed.  I had to wait for the parts to arrive.  They also said I did need back brakes; they were unable to get the lug nuts off that Midas stripped when they put them back on!  Again, I had to wait for parts.  I did not get my car back until September 22, 2021.  I lost seven days of work; I NEED my car to make money every day.
The total for the car today was $874.34  The brakes were $352.84
I want to be reimbursed for the $521.50 plus six days of losing at least $100.00 per day not being able to work because my car was in the dealer. After all, Midas did a horrendous job with my vehicle.  The total I want to be reimbursed is $1121.50.
Please contact me ASAP in regards to this matter.  I will take this to court, the newspapers, whatever it takes.I have copies of all the bills from Midas and I have the paperwork from the dealer which is on their letterhead, dated, and signed detailed account of what was done wrong, and I have the lug nuts, one of which broke when they were trying to get it off.
Dates of service are 8/21/2021 and 8/24/2021The invoice numbers are 1491364 and 1491392
Thank you,

Christine Hickman

Desired outcome: $1121.50

Midas Unethical behavior

I took my 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Track in for an ignition issue on August 25th. They told me for 2 weeks now that my truck was fixed and they are waiting on the programmer to come and program it. Today is September 17th 2021 and I still don't have my truck and every day its the same story. They don't call me back when they say they will and I can't get any help to get my truck back. This is a serious complaint and I am very aggravated. I do a tremendous amount of business with them and this is twice now that I have had my truck in their shop for longer than necessary. Please help me.

Midas Midas service and staff behavior

Took car in for new alternator. Asked to check the Midas warrantied tires again as tire pressure light was on dashboard still. Asked several times over a couple of calls. They kept it overnight. Picked up car. Tires were not checked. Called back and spoke with a very rude desk staffer who spoke over me, corrected me, and then told me what I would have to do to solve the problem (and got pissed off when I didn't like him being a jerk). Filed a complaint with Midas. Then 2 days later got a text from Midas asking me about how the service went on my car. I responded with "is this a joke". It was the same guy - and the text ended when he used a racial slur against me. I called Midas and escalated - there's nothing they can do. They will take your information and turn it back over to the person who did it. There's no national resolution chain. So if you're a woman - I recommend you avoid Midas. And definitely do not do any work with the Midas on Rancho in Las Vegas. Because you will pay for their mistake, and there's no one at corporate that will have your back.

Desired outcome: None - Midas corp takes complaints and routes them back to the people who did the crime. Which leaves you open to further harassment.

Last week I had midas replace a brake booster that costed us 1000 dollars, a few days after repairing the brakes we learned that the lower ball joints and wheel bearing needed replaced. We were given a estimate of four and a half hours of labor and about 500 dollars in parts which would bring our total of just over 1000. We agreed to let midas do the work...

On this past Friday, my 2004 Mercedes stalled in front of Midas on Dilingham Blvd. in Honolulu and rolled onto their drive. I asked them to look at it and we pushed it inside to a stall. They felt confident that they could fix it, and began examining it. I signed an intake document suggesting the cost would be around $180 and left. They called the next day...

Would not accept a pre-paid Groupon coupon. Was tole that it was under new ownership. Lousy customer service. I set the appointment 3 days earlier. How come I was not told then that they would not accept any coupons. Wasted my time. I will never visit a Midas store again and will never refer anyone to them.

I have gone to different Midas locations threw many years and never had problems until now. I picked up my car after my back brakes were replaced. My car was in great condition. They damaged my bumper badly. They even called me for an estimate before starting the work and said that they did a quick run around the car and that they noticed a chip in my...

Midas Battery & tire service

On Saturday 6/19/2021 We brought our 2002 Chevy Roadtrek into the Midas in Queensbury, NY
We purchased 4 Hankook Tires, & 3 batteries. (Tires were not installed at our request) One battery was/is for the van motor. 2 were/are the Roadtrek to boondock, theses are deep cell. When we called Midas they told us that a charging system check would be done, When they went to change the main van battery all they did was cart the new battery out, open the hood, remove the old battery, remove the battery disconnect, re-install it on the new battery and close the hood, in the process the tech must have bend the bottom of the disconnect switch, now we have to replace that. It was never damaged EVER! That's one. they charged us $54.00 to install 3 batteries, that took less than 10 minuets! They also NEVER checked the charging system. We know because the van was parked (backed in) in the parking lot. We watched the entire time. No check! Now I have to take it else where to have it checked another cost to us. Last issue we have no paper work on the 4 tires, or the 3 batteries. We called today and were told. "You don't get paper work" Well then if something happens to the tires or batteries how do we get them replaced or fixed? We will never recommend that Midas to anyone ever! We are so frustrated about this that we have an appointment with our car repair. Again at more cost to us! Please send ALL Paper work associated with the 3 batteries & the 4 tires
To: Ron Vidal-115 Round Pond Brook Loop, Indian, Lake, NY, 12842

Desired outcome: Paper work 7 refund of $54.00

I went to Midas because my brake light came on the day before. Made an appointment and waited while they checked the car. I was told the problem was the brake fluid needed to be filled. That it was only about a quarter low and the brake light came on because of that. They filled it and I drove away (no charge). As I pulled out of the parking lot, the brake...

Midas 2012 nissan sentra transmission replacement

In 2020 I had problems with the transmission in my 2012 Nissan Sentra. I took it to Midas and they replaced the transmission. It failed again in late 2020, and I have since discovered that they had to have known the 2012 Nissan Sentras had a transmission problem all along but didn't tell me and charged me for the replacement. (I have my invoice.) My car is unusable.

Midas Lyft inspection and Freon fill

I made an appointment this morning at Midas in Deephaven MN and schedule an Oil change and Freon Top. When I arrive they would not put Freon in my vehicle they wanted to do a full inspection and I would have to come back since they did not have time to do it. I also wanted a Lyft Inspection which the Manager on Duty Chris refuse to approve because of a little scratch on the Driver door, no dents good shape.. He also refuse to approve last year but his co-manager Dan approved it stating it was no reason why he did not approve it. I have spent over $3000 on repairs over the years with Midas and I did not like the way that Deephaven treated me today and I will start taking all my service to Midas in Eden Praire where I use to take it years ago and they know how to treat there customers. I will never take my car back to Deephaven again and have a very bad taste in my mouth how Chris treated me. Tom

Desired outcome: Nothsing just very upset customer

Your store at 2861 S Alma School in Mesa Az sends out flyers for oil changes for $14.95. When you get to the store they tell you that they don't carry that grade of oil to put in your car. Then they tell you that it will cost you $49.99 hopping you will pay the extra cost. That is a poor way of doing business. I refused to pay the $49.95 and left with a...

Midas Auto Heater Repair

I brought my Vehicle to Midas to get the Heater fixed. It was Blowing Cold Air.
My Invoice #0286540
Original Estimate #0192966.

They kept my Car FOUR DAYS! After the Fourth Day I was told FINALLY it was done. But Lo & Behold its NOT FIXED . Same Cold Air! Charge? $749 DOLLARS! For the Same Cold Air I had BEFORE. Now the Technicians there seemed Knowledgeable & Courteous but they DIDN'T even get Close to Repairing it. I had NO OPTIONS but to PAY UP AND ROLL OUT. It's Not Fair to PAY & GET NOTHING. PLUS, I lost FOUR DAYS of Use of the Car. I'm 67 years Old on Disability & Simply got ROBBED for $749 by Midas Muffler.

Desired outcome: My Heater FIXED if not I'd like MY MONEY BACK.
