I went to Mr. tire to buy 4 tires. The price they give you includes $79.99 for a wheel alignment that you didn't request. When you notice the wheel alignment charge, they lower the price by $10. I wanted an alignment anyway. When I came back for the car, the manager had a list of critical findings they uncovered, totaling more than an additional $550. While standing atb the counter, I read, reading upside down, a hand printed note from the franchise owner to all managers telling them to find things wrong and to tell the customers about the needed items "after the car is up on the lift". Since one of the items was that my battery was "on its last legs", and I had just gotten that battery new from my Subaru dealer within the last 6 months, I told him to touch absolutely nothing more on the car. When I went to pull the car out of the lot, I smelled a strong smell of gas coming from somewhere and a loud whooosh when I accelerated, as I pulled away. I looked under the hood, and found that a screw had been loosened from a clamp around a length of tubing which was the fuel line. It was leaking gas down onto the motor. I got a screwdriver and tightened the screw of the clamp while the motor idled, and the leak stopped. The loud noise was due to them not having replaced the cover to the air cleaner (one of the many things looked at during their secret inspection). I took the car to my Subaru dealer the next day, and told then the list of things Mr. Tire said were needed. Subaru said that none of those items were needed. (THIS IS A CAR WITH 37, 000 MILES ON IT. ONE OF THE THINGS MR. TIRE WANTED TO DO WAS REPLACE THE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID). It's clear that this outfit should be put out of business. It even looks like they sabotaged my fuel line when I said that I didn't want them to do any more work on my car.

On March 20th I dropped my 2006 Altima (which i just purchased in sept 2009) at Mr. Tire for a simple oil change and myself my daughter and a friend of mine went two doors down to get food while we waited. It didnt take very long for them to call me to tell me it was done. So i drive home everything is great for the next two days until the 23rd I had thought i seen a leak on the street where i park but couldnt tell. I am a 22yr old female and I do not know very much about cars at all so i did not think much of the little spot i had seen. The next morning on the 24th i drove only about a mile down the road to hear horrible noises coming from my engine like a gurgling rattling sound. I wasnt sure what to do so i was going to just drive straight to my dealership and have them look at it, since i figured Mr Tire didnt do something right. As i was about to be on my way there my engine just completely cut off and all the lights came on and my car just started rolling backwards and would not cut on at all. Once i had my car towed to my dealership the looked at it and said there was no drain plug for the oil they must not have screwed it on all the way and it must have fallen off today. They also said my engine had locked up and now i need a entire new engine! All i wanted was an oil change and now i need an ENGINE! I am working through a lawyer now and i believe all Mr Tire service centers need to be shut down! DO NOT GO THERE EVER! This is a nightmare for me i never would dream of something like this happening jus from a oil change!

tried to rip me off
I took my vehicle to Mr. Tire to have a tire repaired that had a nail in it. I had purchased the set of 4 tires there new originally. I was told that the tire couldn't be repaired and that I needed to buy a new tire. Fortunately they didn't have a tire available that matched my car so they had to get one from another Mr. Tire. Meanwhile they put a loaner tire on my car. I asked them if I could use the tire with the nail in it for a spare and they told me no - that it was a full sized tire and that it wouldn't fit into the area in my trunk for the spare tire.
I left the store and called my brother. He came over to the shop and just walked into the back through an open bay and didn't ask anyone anything. He walked over to my tire that still had the nail in it that was hanging on a rack. He pulled out the nail and poured water on the area that he pulled the nail out of. It was fine. The nail was only stuck in the outer layer of tread and hadn't punctured the tire at all. They were going to rip me off for a tire that would have cost me $150.00 and were going to keep my tire besides that was fine once the nail was out.
They didn't argue when he told them to put my tire back on my car and they didn't try to charge me either. They had tricked me but they didn't trick him.

following cust. intructions
They are horrible. I went in for a tranmission flush, basic oil change and 3 wiper blades and the bill was $229.30. I was quoted a price of $99.00 for a flush (had a coupon), $10.00 per basic wiper blades and $19.99 for an oil change. The decided to tried to charge me $119.00 for the flush. They decieded to put an upgraded wiper blade on the car that cost $18.00 a priece and they forgot to tell me that it cost $10.00 a piece in labor. Also they charged me $29.99 for the oil change, not the quoted price! Also they state they need to add an extra quart of oil the supposedly cost $3.00. Also a shop fee of $25.00.
Are they stupid! I wouldm't pay the full cost also if you look on ther website they match prices. I am going to find low cost everything and get a refund.
Watch out for them they like to add stuff and have hidden costs. Also they are over billing for labor, which they neglect to tell you there $90.00 and hour labor rate when you make an appointment.
They are ### and everyone who has ever gone to them shoudl report them to the BBB, Better Business Bureau I am.

rude staff
I brought my vehicle for oil change to this car service center. Guess what? They yanked out my vehicle's door handle and did not even do the oil change. They did not apologize, assuming it's accidental, instead they blame me for not telling them that it is partially broke. I'm not going to bring my vehicle to this center again!!! I should have listened to my co-workere's bad experience to this same place.

What a nightmare! I'm taking the time to write this review to save others from having to deal with a major hassle like I am still dealing with. Mr. Tire should not be in business! All I wanted was four new tires. After taking 6 hrs to remove old tires and put new tires on my Subaru, they told me my car was out of alignment plus $1, 700 more work was needed - one of which was that my oil was low and filthy dirty. I had just had an oil change. (I checked it the next day and my oil was fine). I told them all I wanted were the 4 new tires and an alignment done (they always get you with that). I told them I did not authorize a 27-point inspection on my car. My car was pulling to the right. Took it back. They re-aligned it. Still pulling to the right. Took it back. They switched the front tires. Car pulling to the left. They knew it was going to do that so they tried off-setting the pull by tilting my steering wheel to the right and putting 44 psi in one of my tires (my tires are 32/29 psi). They said must be a bad tire. For about 2 weeks, the people at Mr. Tire talked to me like I was the stupidest person ever born. One of them even said to me "You get what you pay for." I wonder if they treat all women like they are idiots. The next week my new tire arrived and I went back for them to put it on. They had my car on the lift wrong and bent both rear trailing arms. (I watched the left side of my car drop). They couldn't get it aligned (of course) and tried finagling the alignment numbers. They wanted me to drive my car like that for a week saying it had to settle in! My all-wheel drive Subaru was wiggling all over the road like driving in a hurricane! I talked to the Area Manager, Rudy, and he said my car was safe to drive unless the wheels were falling off and hung up on me. Took my car to Firestone and realized Mr. Tire lost my wheel lock. Firestone informed me that if kept driving my car damaged like that, I would have damaged the rear differential and possibly transmission. After waiting weeks for parts from the dealership, Firestone fixed my car and had it aligned. Firestone was a savior, but I'm still having a pull to the right which means I have to still deal with dreadful Mr. Tire. It has been over a month since I purchased 4 new tires and I still do not have 4 good working tires. I'm looking for another Mr. Tire in the area that doesn't have bad reviews and it's very hard to find one... Spare yourself major hassle and headache - avoid Mr. Tire at all costs!

deceptive pricing practice
I went in to the Mr. Tire Center in Columbia MD to get two front tires on my wife's CRV. We're trading the car in the spring so I didn't want to spend alot. The salesperson found tires that fit my needs in both price and quality. At no time did we discuss or did he even mention any other service. Yes, I did sign the paper he gave me to sign, no I didn't read it. He said ok, sign here at the X, and I did. When I returned to pick up my car I had been charged for a front-end alignment, $89.99. I didn't really need the alignment. The car doesn't pull and there was no uneven tire wear on the old tires. I complained to the manager and he didn't seem to care. I agreed to pay and gave him my credit card, telling him in no uncertian terms that I would never shop at Mr. Tire and ain and I would make sure I spread the word about their way of doing business. Finally, when the discussion got a little loud and other customers started to notice he agreed to take the $89.00 charge off of my bill. Fine, fair enough, finally professionally handled.
When I got home and had a close look at my bill I found that in addition to the so called 'on the rim and out the door' price I was charaged an "Road Hazard Coverage" charge of $10.26 per tire. Again, this was never mentioned by the salesperson. It just turned up on my bill. If I wasn't trading the car in March I might have purchased this insurance. But I was never asked, never given the option. I think these deceptive practices were intentional. I am so done with Mr. Tire. I e-mailed the corporate office but I doubt I'll hear from them. I remember the old adage, "A satisfied customer may tell one person, but a dissatisfied customer will tell five." Every time I hear the Mr. Tire commercial saying 'on the rim and out the door' it wil remind me to keep telling my Mr. Tire experienc.

warranty tire repair
I went into the Erdman Ave Store in Baltimore, MD on 12/26/2009 at 5:00 pm to have a tire repaired; the rep. stated that he could not fix the tire at that point because he other work that would not allow him to get to it. The store did not close until seven o’clock pm.
I called back at about 8:00 on 12/28/2009 and asked could I bring the car in to have the tie repaired; at that point I was told that there were a lot of repairs in front of me and it would be about a four wait.
When i asked about an appointment; Maurice was put on the line. He stated that tires are normally repaired in 45 min., however, there was a two hour wait at this point.
I informed Maurice that I would have to wait for the repair and asked could he give me an appointment that would allow me to time this so that I would not have to wait in the store for two hours. A very reasonable request from a service manager I would think.
His reply was in a some what arrogant manner ; we don’t give appointments at this store.
I called the Corp. Office; spoke to a rep. there and was told that Maurice would give me a call to set up an appointment. Never got that call.
If the shop mangers do not want to cooperate with customers and display an arrogant attitude when reasonable request are made, clearly they should be in a job that is more suitable to their disposition or that service should not be sold.
Buy your tires and service some were else.

brakes
I went in to get the front brake pads replaced. I noticed a loud squealing noise coming from the front brakes, and my brake lights keep coming on. This is after they supposedly did my brake work. I took the car back the greased the brakes and resurfaced the rotors. I left the car was still doing the same. I took it somewhere to see what the problem was and got an estimate. Since the brakes are warrantied I went back to Mr Tire, and the manager seemed like I was a bother to him and I didn't know what I was talking about. And the young kid working on my car thought it was funny and he was very lazy. Needless to say my brakes are still squealing and my brake lights are on. I want my money back and dont recommend Mr Tire.

engine ruined
On march 7th 2009 I took my 2003 Cheverolet Impala into a Mr Tire location in New Castle De. to get 4 new tires and a front end alignment. I have been using them for years and never had a problem until now...I bought this car brand new and it has never had even 1 problem the whole time I have owned it...this was the first time I was having any real work done on the car, and this was only to get new tires and an alignment...while my car was in their shop they looked for other things that could possibly be wrong...so they could try to make more money as any mechanic will try to do...they checked my belts, hoses, fluids ect and gave me advice on what to have done...any way after I paid $443.43 for my tires and alignment, I left to go home...on my way home my car mysteriously overheated and damaged my cylinder heads...when I called them and asked them what they did to my car, they denied doing anything...From what I can summize, is they did a pressure check on my coolant system and put air into my engine. Then they forgot to bleed the air out and caused my engine to overheat...now I have to pay $1, 553.00 to fix my engine because of their error...I contacted the shop, their rude customer service people and wrote a letter to the President of the company with no luck on them fixing their mistake...DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO MR TIRE FOR ANYTHING...THE PARENT COMPANY IS MONROE MUFFLER INC...DON'T USE THEM EITHER...MAKE SURE YOU STEER CLEAR UNLESS YOU WANT To BREAK DOWN AFTERWARDS>>>>>

On a lighter note: MARK YOUR TIRES before having them rotated under the "lifetime rotation" policy at Mr Tire. Twice now at the Riesterstown MD store they haven't been rotated when requested. In the future I am going to tell the Manager I have marked them, maybe this will avoid me wasteing my time pointing it out to them after they say it's been done.
ineffective and expensive repairs
I severely needed work on the right rear wheel bearings and recieved an estimate from the Mr. Tire cienter cited above. The estimate was a low of $300.11 to a high of $361.11. I took my car in good faith and expected a maximum of #361.11. When they called to do the work the estimate went up to $391.11 to which I agreed. *Within the first three hours of...

I went into Mr. Tire on Friday morning to get a basic oil change. The guy said it would
Take about 30 to 40 min. To get me in. And he said about 15 to 20 min. To do oil change.
So about an hour. Well to start, it took just over 2 hours. They said my stub was broken and it would cost $50. 00 to fix. He said who ever worked on it last must of did it. Well, Mr. Tire worked on it last and I wasn't going to pay $50. 00 for their mistake.
The guy huffed and puffed but did fix without cost. When driving home i smelled something burning. I thought some oil must have spelled and it would just burn off. Well later that night smoke came out of engine area. I pulled over. Oil was all over engine. It made my wife and i so sick i couldn't drive it like that. So I went to a near by place and steam cleaned the engine. When I was cleaning noticed a dent on my fender next to my tire. I called and manager was gone. I went in next morning. 8:00 talked to manager Tom Frey told him about oil and damage. He said, (This is no lie) well things happen I am sure they didn't do it on purpose. Speaking of the oil. And said nothing can be done about the damage once it leaves the shop. I under stand if I came back a couple days later but this was the very next morning. At 8:00 Mr. Frey was very smug about it. I told him it wasn't like that when I brought it in. Again he said he wasn't going to do anything about it. Mr. Tire is not responsible for the damage. I told him if you look at my history I do a lot of business there and the damage is not a lot it is the point. They would not fess up to the damage. And that the manager was very rude and smug when talking to me. I told him if Mr. Tire doesn't do anything about it I would never do business there again and I would tell everybody I knew. This was the first time during our conversation he said he was sorry. And that was to tell me he wasn't going to help me.

Hello, I just want everyone in my area to be aware of the unethical business practices going on at Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers in Monroeville Pa, and of the unprofessional, rude, and dis-respectable Store Manager Mike Cecere.
I went there on Saturday August 8th, 2011 with a slow leak in my tire. I informed the manager Mr. Cecere that I was in a huge hurry and late for an event. He started checking me and when they asked for my e-mail address I declined to give it. This started a ten minute tirade as to why I should give him my e-mail address, that I would get wonderful discounts on service. I finally said I get my car serviced at the Mercedes dealership and just had it done last week. I only came in for a slow leak in my tire and would never be coming in for service. He then started yelling and telling me how stupid I was for getting Mercedes service. I asked him to please stop badgering, and that I was in a hurry.
I finally just walked away from from him and went out side to fine two servicemen underneath the hood of my car. I asked them why they were under my hood when I only needed the slow leak in my tire fixed. They both scurried off to look at my tire. I went back in to ask Mike Cecere why they were looking under the hood of my car. Of course he started yelling me once again, telling me how stupid I am and that I should want them to make sure my car was in proper working order. I told him, once again, I’m in a hurry first. Second, I did not give anyone permission to look at anything on my car but the tires. Third, my car was just serviced last week. And forth, I will not be made fun of and yelled at. I might be a blond woman, but I’m not stupid. As a former sales manager in the media business, I’m very aware of how up-sales and unethical tricks are played on unsuspecting consumers in the auto industry, and I would not fall victim to his. Clearly, I had his number and he knew it, which is why I think he was so angry.
When I asked him for his business card, he shoved it in my face and said: Good luck with your complaint. When they finally gave me my keys back and I started to walk to my car, he came out and yelled to everyone to look out she’ll run you over! I had my child with me by the way. This guy needs not only anger management classes, he need to be in a business where he is not around people! I just don’t want this humiliation and mistreatment to happen to any one else. Thank goodness I caught them under the hood.
Many people have told me stories where they pour oil on the engine, tell the customer to look and say, “you have an oil leak”, we’ll be glad to fix that for $100.00.
I took my 1999 Toyota Sienna in for new front tires and a front end alignment. They had the best "out-the-door" price for the tires and I had a 20% off coupon for the alignment. After getting the call I went to pick up the car only to learn that 1. they did not do the alignment because, according to the mechanic, it need it the front wheel bearings replaced at a cost of $600.00 for the 2 front wheel bearings and 2. It also needed the rear shocks replaced – at a cost of $400.00. I drove 1/4 of a mile down Joppa Rd. to NTB and dropped the vehicle off for the alignment, they called 2 hours later and the job was completed as needed. When I asked the mechanic if there was anything wrong with the wheel bearings he said "no, the alignment was off by only +/- 5% on the right wheel and no adjustments were needed on the left side at all”. I also purchased the rear shocks at Advance Auto and replaced them in one hour (myself) for a total cost of $32.00 for Heavy Duty shocks.
It’s evident to me that the folks at Mr. Tire on Joppa Rd. were trying to drum up expensive repairs to my vehicle that were highly overpriced and, in the case of the wheel bearings, not even needed. Not an uncommon practice with dealerships and unscrupulous shops. However, the Mr. Tire folks took it a step further by refusing to do the work pending their misdiagnosed and overpriced repair. Maybe the 20% coupon was a deterrent to them.
I do not recommend Mr. Tire for any work on your vehicle as the lower tire price serves as bait to get you in the shop so they can have the opportunity to create new (unneeded?), repairs for your car or truck.
Thease people are out just to take your money and do bad work. In the past 2 months i had to have them fix the same thing 4 times. This isnt the only thing i had brakes done $500 tor front disc brakes, new pads and turn rotors. For the same thing at pepboys was $160. i must say there good with prices on tires but thats about it. the mechanics have limited or no experiance in the field and managment dosnt have a clue. I asked "RIC" simple questions he didnt know and had to call another store to see what it was. Taling to the guy working on my car i find out he dosnt know anything about cars, he was just luckey enough to get a job. Finaly i get to the recomendations, a list of parts and prices for evrything i need for my car. Ric was nice enough to offer a couple dollers off here and there but at this point i was suspisous of what was going on. pepboys reavealed most of it i did not need just them trying to take advantage of me. Also the prices were rediculus! over $1100 + tax and fees i actualy ended up spending $238 and got a clean bill of health for the car. I only go back now for the $15 oil change you can print out off there website or they send in the mail.
Took my HOnda Accord 2004 EX to have rotors and brakes checked. Shop said that I needed to have the rotors turned. Did so and paid for it. Still had problems. After 3 trips with the same problem, I took the car to Manassas Honda. They said that the rotors had not been turned and suggested that I have the service. Did so and with outstanding results. I took the repair bill along with the one that I had paid at Centreville Tire & Auto back to the Manager at Centreville Tire and Auto. I asked him what he thought and asked how he would "make things right." After several days of his contemplation, I received a call from him saying that they would make no adjustment to my repair or reimburse me in any way for their faulty workmanship. They won the battle but lost the war! I will never return to Centreville Tire and Auto and will never recommend them to anyone. It was a 2004 Honda Accord EX! If you can't repair the rotors on that car, then how skilled is your crew with anything else they might do?
Mr. Tire ruined my vehicle. I brought it in for minor adjustments to alignments and tires and left with a bent rim. I then spent over 400$ replacing tires and having car adjusted. Shame on you Mr. Tire for providing poor service! Plus this place isn't better business bureau certified so there is nothing you can do with the better business bureau.
I went to mr tire to get an oil change and 5 minutes down the road my engine started knocking. I immediately called them back and explained ths problem to them. They sent a tos truck and towed my vehicle to their nearest facility. I asked them why weren't they gonna tow my vehicle to the facility that the problem originated from and they told me that their specialist was at this particular facility and that he would be the best person to handle the problem. My car was towed to this other facility. They checked my car and determined that they were not a fault for any issues to my engine. I explained to them that prior to coming in and getting my oil changed at the other location that there wasnt anything wrong with my vehicle. They would not accept fault and told me that it was just coincidental. I called and filed a complaint and have yet to get this matter resolved. I also dpoke with the branch manager who was very rude. Never go to Mr Tire!
This is so true. Today is Nov 5 2011 and I'm here at mr. Tire ox road va. I went back coz after they changed my oil and I got home... I saw some fume coming out on the hood and when I open up the hood smoke is coming out on the engine... And I went back here for them to check it.. Btw. They haven't replaced my air filter.. Which supposedly part of the deal... What a ripped off..they waste my money my time and my day..haisst.
Isnt it possible that the problem was already there and by chance manifested itself while being looked at? Obviously there was an issue otherwise the vehicle wouldnt have been in the repair facility to begin with. It can be as frustrating for the repair facility as it is for the customer when a vehicle has a failure. Just because the problem got worse while there doesnt mean that they caused it to become that way. Speaking from 18 + years experience.
Mr. TIre - Mt Airy, MD - Yesterday I went to Mr. Tire to find out why the steering on my car was stiff when taking a right or left hand curve. This was only minor. I got there at 5 pm and did not leave until 7 pm. They informed me that I would need to have a diagnostic down to find out what the problem was. When I arrived, I was able to drive the car, when I left, the car was not drivable at all and I had to leave it there. The steering will not turn at all without sever presure being applied to it. I immediately turned off the vehicle and went back inside and told them of the problem. They then tried to find the mechanic that worked on the vehicle, he then drove it, came back and said there was a problem. He got in and tried turning the steering to the left and right with much difficulty. He lifted the hood, checked the fluid, drained it, put new steering fluid in and during this time, someone from the office was trying to turn the steering wheel so the tires would turn. Finally, they decided they didn't know what the problem was. I walked home and then called them this morning and now they are telling me it needs a steering rack, a pinion and a pump and the fault is mine as the obviously the problem was there to begin with. Their customer service rep at corporate told me the same thing. I now have a vehicle that was fine when I went there, to a vehicle that cannot be driven at all. The vehicle now has to be towed to another business to find out what the problem is and did they cause it. I will never, never go to this business again and anyone who is reading this, should not go to them either. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and my attorney will be contacting them. I do not feel that I should be liable for the repairs, when the vehicle did not have this problem to begin with. Please, do not go to Mr. Tire to have any service done on your vehicle.
Read reviews! This place is horrible. I had a hole in one of my tires and this place was across the street from my house so I figured it's just a tire replacement what could really go wrong. Obviously, a lot. When I went into the store they didn't even greet me and waited for me to walk to the counter and the guy bluntly says "what do you need". That was just the beginning. When I showed him my tire he then went on to say I needed all my tires replaced. Told me my tread was horrible and that I would slip everywhere when it rained (even though I did fine in my Honda civic in the recent snow storm for 10 hours). I might've believed him if I didn't change 2 of my tires last year. But I just took it that he was a bad salesman and brushed it off because I just wanted my tire replaced as soon as possible. After looking at my car he told me the price would be $130. I told him is there a list of tires and prices I could see and he said that this was the best one for my car and didnt even let me see a list. Whatever I just wanted my tire replaced. After waiting 2 hours they called and I went back to get my car and drove it home a block away into my garage. The next day the new tire is flat. I called them and told them about it and they told me to bring it in for them to see it. When I did they took it and said they'd have someone look at it the next morning. So the next morning I called and they said theyd call me right back after they looked at it. 2 hours passed and I called again. This time they didn't pick up. Another 2 hours passed and they finally call. They tell me there's a gash on the side of my tire. How? I didn't go anywhere. The guy said debris or someone took a knife and gashed my car (really?). I drove on my old tires for 2 years and never got a gash in them. I find it very weird how a brand new tire could get a gash on the side of it from just driving it a block home and my 2 year old tires didn't. I am taking this to their corporate office. I want my money and rim back and I'll take my business somewhere else. As someone else reviewed, mr. Tires(arlington) needs mr. Brains.
overcharges

I bought a set of tires from Mr Tire about 8k ago. Included in the price was lifetime rotation. I went back for a rotation and they tried to pressure me in having about $700.00 worth of repairs. I figured it was a big scam and told them I would think about it. After that they tried to sell me a Goodlyear credit card and told me they would give $10.00 off just for filling out the application. I was going to buy a set of tires for my wife's car and was getting ready to set up an appointment but after all the bs he was throwing at me I wouldn't buy a candy bar from his place. So beware when you get ready to buy new tires, once they put your car on the rack they can find a million things wrong with it. My suggestion is to go to Wal-mart, BJ'S, or some other outlet.

I went to Mr Tire in March 2017 to get an oil change, tires rotated and other fuilds top off. The next day i had my windows door and heard a wierd noise coming from car. I took it back and found out the rims weren't put on correctly. Now 3 weeks later my check maintence light is on. Now I have to pay another company to check out my car to see if the fuilds were added.
I BROUGHT TIRES FROM THE OAKLYN NEW JERSEY LOCATION AROUND OCTOBER 2017 AND THE TIRES COST ME$ 753.00 WITH ALIGMENT AFTER ABOUT 3MONTHS I NOTICED WEAR ON ALL FOR BRAND NEW TIRES, SO I WENT BACK THINKING THEY WOULD REPLACE THEM OR SOMETHING BUT I WAS TOLD THAT WITH THE INSURANCE I HAVE ON THE TIRES THEY COULD ONLY GIVE ME NEW TIRES FOR$ 100.00 OFF
WELL I TOOK THE DEAL AND I HAD TO PAY AGAIN FOR A WHEEL ALIGMENT AND THE TIRES STILL COST ME ANOTHER $500.00 AND ITS BEEN 3MONTHS AND I HAD A BLOW OUT BUT I DONT THINK I WANT TO GO BACK TO THEM FOR NEW TIRES BECAUSE I DONTFEEL AS THOUGH THESE TIRES ARE NEW THESE WERE GOODYEAR TIRES I BROUGHT AND I DONT THINK TIRES WEAR OUT IN A FEW MONTHS.
The old manager at stow ohio location was fired for some reason, because he had to many compalints, so he gave oput oil change coupons on a business card. I was one who had a card. The NEW manager along with corporate tried to investigate and interrogate me for using an oil change card. Like I commited fraud. How dare you? The customer was wrong as the low life manager was correct. What? Stay far away from MR TIRE. THEY DONT HONOR THEIR OWN COUPONS !
The people who work there are rude, unprofessional and have horrible work ethics. If this team does not come across negligent or incompetent to anyone in Mr Tire's corporate office is very surprising to me. I am surprised that Mr Tire allows this kind of behavior and horrible service provided to their customers. Putting these guys on the front line was a mistake. I hope this location closes down based on their customer service.
I visited the Hagerstown, MD store this morning to purchase 4 new tires. The sales manager, I believe his name was Dave, told me that a "free" alignment check was included with the purchase of the tires. Dave printed out an estimate that included $89.99 for the tire alignment and when I questioned it he told me that it was only on the estimate to show what the total cost would be if the alignment was needed. He said that if the alignment wasn't done the charge would be removed. I was the first client of the day and the first car in the shop. After waiting 2 hours, for the quoted 1 hour service, Dave came in and informed me that the alignment was needed and the technician had gone ahead and corrected it. Needless to say I was very upset that I was not given the opportunity to review the results and decide whether I wanted the service. Dave simply replied that the technician thought he was doing me a favor. I expressed my displeasure and told Dave that I would not of had the $89.99 service done to correct such a minor out of alignment condition. I was also quite surprised to learn that a $89.99 alignment was a correction of a specific condition and not an complete re-alignment to bring everything back closer to the center line. Learning this made paying for the service even harder to swallow. Dave offered me 20% off of the alignment which I accepted because I had no other option after signing the estimate which included the alignment. I have no intention of ever visiting their stores again. I also intend to share my experience with my friends and associates. Leaving your clients feeling like they got screwed in a tough economy is just bad business!
bad installation, 4 new tires
Mr. Tire failed to balance wheels after selling me a set of premium Perelli tires for over $500. (I bought them out of my area while traveling when I had a blowout in front of Mr. Tire in Marlboro, MD; I'll never schedule a blowout at such a place again!)
I noticed the typical thumping of unbalanced wheels and, after arriving home (near Aberdeeen, MD). Remembering that Mr. Tire offered me free balancing in the future, I visited another Mr. Tire, this time in Aberdeen, MD. "What's the problem?, " asked the less-than-enthusiastic counterman. "I believe my new tires were installed without being balanced, " said I.
Said Mr. Tire, "Which wheel?"
"I don't know, but the vibration sensor in my butt tells me the right-rear is reallly thumping; but please check all four."
No answer and an unhappy look from Mr. Mr. Tire. Reaching out his hand, he said in his victim role: "KEYS."
Diagnosis: Mr. Mr. Tire said the right-read wheel was "really out of balance." I assumed he checked the other three (another mistake on my part).
Finally, at my next oil change, I had all four wheels rebalanced. All four were sadly out of balance.
Unfortunately, I had never heard of Mr. Tire before buying these tires. (The tires are very good, by the way.)
I recommend you stay away from these people...unless you're buying unmounted tires to be installed by professionals.
mr tire 7500 block richie hwy glen burnie ripped me off, took car in for inspection for a scond time, that i had to pay for again, the first time they found
two toe rods bent i replaced them also had to change headlights i replaced them took it back and now they said
i have a ripped motor mount, [they had to cut it].
because i only drove the car to there and back to home i don't see why i could get a ripped motor mount driving less than 20 miles warning don't deal with them unless you want to get ripped off.
These people crack me up. I had my car fully serviced just months before bringing it for TIRES at Mr. Tire. They of course recommended a list of items recently just completed by my trusted (20 years) mechanic. Yesl it is a business and I agree they need to recommend "necessary" items. The problem is there are too many of these large corporate outfits (branch bonuses are based on sales totals) that recommend services that are not needed. I could put a new filter in a car and have them recommend a new one is required just two months later (my favorite is the "look at the dirty filter" gimmick). It is unfortunate for those mechanics that are honest and work hard to protect the owner's investment. Well, my wife bit on the "required" alignment gimmick (unless you bang a curb or hit a major pothole, it is unlikely you need an alignment people). Now my back end is vibrating around. I will give them one shot to fix and then pay a few bucks to my trusted mechanic to do it correctly. I think they are simply incompetent at their work.
I totally agree with you about Mr. Tire. Please do not take our car there--mechanics will play a guessing game with you and take your money. The mechanics are not qualified to do anything!
awful experience
I went to Mr. Tire for a new tire. The technician badly scraped the rim all around. At first, management refused to accept responsibility--two immature and obnoxious guys. Then the manager agreed to have someone call me to repair the rim. No one called, so I wrote a letter to the corporate office (Monro Muffler). They promised to have someone look at the rim, but no one ever followed up. Then I complained to the county consumer affairs office. Finally, after almost 2 months, I received a check to repair the rim. Do not trust your car to this place.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I did NOT request synthetic oil and they did it anyway. My mistake for not looking over the receipt but they never verbally said $90 dollars. I feel very mislead and screwed over. Don't go here. They will screw you over. I will never use them or Mr tire again
I went there June 28th at 11:30am
They keep smoking
Absolute rip-off artists. Kings of the bait-and-switch and arbitarily added hidden charges. Mediocre work at best. Their coupon "specials" are laughable. I put them in the same class as "$29 whole house steamcleaning."
I recently went into the Woodbury Hts location and had my oil changed. Part of the oil change included a tire rotation. While rotating my tires the technician noticed that I needed new brake pads and rotors on all four tires of my vehicle and I was quoted a price of $850.00. Thankfully I declined the service and only had them change my oil. I ended up changing my own brakes approximately 2000 miles later and noticed all my pads had at least 20, 000 more miles on them and my rotors where fine, being smooth on both sides with no grooves. I strongly believe that Mr. Tire tried to steal my money that day and would have been surprised if they would have even done anything to my vehicle and just taken my money. I have also heard more stories where people have gotten their oils changed and they never put in a new oil filter among other horror stories of bad service. I strongly recommend you find another shop to take your vehicle to and steer clear away from any Mr. Tire locations.
I have had the same problem with Mr Tire, both woodbury and mapleshade nj. had to bring my car back 4 times for the same repair at mapleshade, "ric" has no clue what hes doing and his so called technisions have extreamly limited experiance. talking to the guy working on my car this was his first time in a automotive shop and was only there a couple months. some how this guy was working on my car? wtf? finaly took the car to Pepboys had the work done for half the price and havent had a problem since. So i can understand why a scratched rim could happen, they have no experiance. And managers dont know a thing about cars. Do your self a favor this place rips you off. Just go somwhere you can count on pros and the price. i know price is another topic but there gole is to take aas much as they can get from you. just check around!
I am glad that you had no problem with Mr. Tire. I'm sure that most people don't. However, if you ever have a problem, beware of the response you will get. The manager was fired because of this incident. The assistant manager, however, still works there. Even the county consumer affairs office expressed amazement over his lack of professionalism.
This complaint is about the parent company as well (Monro Mufflers). Monro failed to follow up on the complaint, making false promises.
It is ridiculous that I had to involve the county consumer affairs office to resolve a relatively simple issue. I only wonder if had been more serious. Lucky it wasn't you.
I have dealt with Mr. Tire numerous times. I found the employees there to be extremely courteous, one of the most friendly service experiences that I have had. I have had tires changed and moved and have never had any problems with the work that they have done. I do trust Mr. Tire and will continue to use them.

I took hub and rotor to MR.TIRE in Westminster to have a new wheel bearing press in.They messed up the splines in the hub.I took it back to them and they told me to install it my car with it being mess up.The mechanic told me "Thats the way we always do it, it'll be fine!"I called their headquarters. NO HELP HERE! So I'm out $230.00.They are very unprofessional, Iwould advise everyone to find somewhere else to take your vehicle.I took the hub to another mechanic who told me by looking at the hub whoever did the work was very inexperienced! SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND GRIEF!
I took my car into Mr.Tire to get four new tires, my car had just came from the body shopso the mechanic at the body shop told me that I needed a new wheel, I went to purchase a new wheel from the dealer which cost me $300.00 and took my car with the doughnut wheel on the left driver's side rear tire to Mr. Tire. I instructed the Mgr.Mr Gary Brewwer that the new wheel was in the back seat of my car, and I needed one of my new tires on that new wheel because the old wheel which was in my trunk was the defective one. After 5hrs of waiting I finally got my car back to realize that my new wheel was still in the box untouched and the defective one put back on my car. I went back to Mr. Tire and they told me they dont which one is the defective one, then they talked to the body shop to see what was the problem that they saw, took my car back to Mr. Tire and it took another 2 1/2 hrs to take all four wheels off to see if they saw the defective one and they still told me that they can't find a defect in any of my wheels. So now I'm riding around with noise coming from the back of my car when I hit a bump or a rough patch of road.I have tried making a complaint to corporate office to no avail!
Mr.Tire in fredericksburg 22405, off Harrison rd. The mechanics don't know how to do much, they waste a lot of time messing around and smoke pot at work. The manager is lazy and puts out the new schedule for his employees the day before it starts taking place. If someone doesn't show up for work, they force and the other employee to stay the rest of the day or until someone does show up. Just a very badly run place to go.
As I mentioned in my previous post, there are unfortunately shady mechanics and/or management/service writers out there. This was apparently one of those cases.
No argument here, but I'd like to add that it is really helpful and makes sense to me, that anyone that can drive a car, needs to know atleast something about it (such as what maintenance has been done) before they take it in for service, to avoid things such as your experience.
Honestly, If it was me, I would have complained to the manager that they obviously tried to scam you into an air filter, and most likely they would have done the oil change free of charge just so they could get you outta there without consequences.
@ntrent1: How about when my dad replaced my air filter not 2 days before I got my oil changed and the mechanics tried to tell me my air filter was SOOOO dirty, and it's a wonder it's even working at all?
I was 17 at the time. They were trying to take full advantage of a high school girl. I don't trust any of them (more especially mech's who work for larger companies, vs independents) as far as I can throw them.
You know, If techs never recommended anything on anyone's car, then everyone that did not know anything maintenance wise (about 75 percent of people I'd say) then things would just break and go bad and leave you stranded on the side of the road time and time again.
We recommend services based off of 2 separate things: Either mileage based, or condition based. Mileage based services (such as coolant/transmission/power steering/brake fluid etc) are to keep the fluids in your car fresh, so they do not break down over extended periods of time and damage expensive components which would cost MUCH more than a simple flush and fill. Condition based services are performed if the fluid is actually dirty or burnt etc. This usually occurs on cars which are not PROPERLY maintained. If it has gotten to this point, damage is occuring to some extent, and should be fixed ASAP.
Yes, fixing a vehicle can become expensive, and yes if you do it yourself, it will be cheaper (and if you can, DO IT!), but if you take it to any shop, expect to pay for parts AND labor, because thats how business works. We fix your car, and you pay for the services.
Yeah, there ARE shady mechanics out there, but MOST of the techs at major franchises are alright because they are tightly regulated by management and such (yes i know there are exceptions.)
Bottom line : Don't get upset when we recommend items on your car. It is our JOB to look for things that are wrong. If we see something that should be done, we are REQUIRED to note it. We are NOT trying to steal from you!
Hello, it is a business. There job is to check for anything that may need done. If they miss soemthing that needs changed you would probably sue them for that. Businesses need to make $$ to survive. You don't have to buy it. Dealerships do the same thing...You must be a crazy liberal.
Jiffy Lube and a local franchise does the same thing. They're all shady.
