oil change scam
I've visited this Mr. Tire location about 4 times, each time for a simple oil change. The fourth time, the manager and mechanic decided that they weren't making enough money off of me and decided to sabotage my cam & crank seals. They completed the oil change and then decided to talk to me about some problems they "discovered." They loosened my gasket and now my vehicle is leaking oil. I have a tan driveway and can always see any types of leaks from my car. The minute I came back from Mr. Tire, I began to see different oil-leak puddles wherever I parked on my driveway; that's NOT a coincidence. They caused the problem with hopes that I'd pay them to fix it. My father and regular mechanic have verified this fraudulent activity. I believe they decided to take advantage of me because they thought I was a stupid woman.
Customers, if you don't like being taken advantage of and caused unnecessary expenses, do NOT visit Clinton's Mr. Tire Auto.
displeased
Dropped off car in the morning, on Friday 12/16/11. Promised new tires would be installed by noon. Arrived to pick up at 2:00, not done. Went to a restaurant next door to wait. Store manager called my cell and said there was a problem that I needed to look at. Went back, installer had broke my wheel lock and could not remove one of my rims. The manager said it wasn't their fault someone else had over tighten the lock. They didn't want to continue to try to take it off because they didn't want to scratch the rim. I said just do your best and told them to proceed. The mechanic walked around for about a half hour and still could not do it. The manager said he didn't have the time to deal with it until Tuesday and wanted me to drop off the car again. I had no choice but to leave with 3 new tires on the vehicle and on old one.
Saturday morning, I got the broken wheel lock off myself with ease in about 3 minutes. I wasn't over tightened, it came off with a hammer and a chisel easily. The installer on Friday probably forgot to switch the airgun back to loosen and broke the lock. It was not overtightened at all.
So my first problem with this is the manager, who automatically blamed someone else for over tightening (which was completely false). Who also had no sense of urgency to solve the problem. And the inept mechanic who, removes wheels for a living, couldn't do what I did at home in 3 minutes.
As they say, the reward for work well done is more work. You can be sure they will get no more work from me.
oil change/tire rotation
Scheduled an appt to get an oil change and tire rotation, appt was for 1pm. Made it a point to "mark" my right front tire, to ensure the tires were rotated.
Arrived at 12:55pm, was told 30 minutes the car would be ready.
At 2:20pm some one finally told me my car was ready. Paid my bill, went to my carm checked my right front tire for the mark, and there it still was.
Went back inside, let the attendant know what they hadn't done, but what I had been charged for.
No apology, just took my key back and drove the car to the bay and some one finally rotated my tires.
Left at 2:35pm. Deception and over 90 minutes of waiting, with an appt.

very bad service, won't honor warranty
I bought 4 Falken tires for over $600 in August of 2010 from Mr. Tire in Irwin, PA. They talked about the excellent warranty and their great service including free tire rotations. I have driven these tires close to 11, 000 miles - the warranty is for 40, 000. Lately the tires just slide all over the road if it rains. I went to the shop, waited an hour after giving my name, reminded them I was still waiting for them to check out my tires. I was then told that there was no manager available to run their hand over my tires, would I like to make an appointment and bring the car back? What? You couldn't tell me that an hour ago? So I took it back yesterday and the same young fellow was behind the desk. It took almost 15 minutes for him to actually address me, he also had to answer the phone and it kept ringing and he kept scheduling people in as I stood there. Yeah, come in now and we'll get you right in. So finally I mention that I am back, repeated what he had said last week and I asked if there was a manager there who could look at my tires. I did not realize the woman standing next to him was the manager! She was stunned and asked him why he had told me that. He denied he had ever said that or that he had ever seen me before! What a sham! She now says, " We will need to check your cars alignment but we are fully scheduled today can you bring it back tomorrow?" Excuse me but I just stood here for 15 minutes while you scheduled at least 4 other people who weren't even here, surely since I already came once and waited an hour, you can simply check my alignment. Much sighing and rolling of eyes she tells the young fellow to get my car back there. Another fellow comes out and tells me my car is out of alignment, they won't be able to help me with my tires. I asked what my numbers were, again, your car is out of alignment. What are my numbers? It turns out the front was out .35! Almost perfectly aligned! In fact, if they had the steering wheel exactly straight, which they didn't! It would have been dead on. I asked why he was telling me my cars alignment was out and he said, Oh, maybe you need new struts and shocks. Huh? Does he think women are that stupid? Doesn't he realize that if I moved my bowling ball I could also alter the alignment? What a sham they are running over there. All three women sitting there were told our cars were out of alignment. I am the only one who questioned them. So now I have to wait until Monday since they need to call Falken and see if anything can be done to resolve my issue. This is very poor customer service. They tell you you have a great warranty, then you have to jump through hoop after hoop. Even when you sail through, they still have to get back to you. Why? Do they ever satisfy their customers? Don't they understand that we can go anywhere and spend our money. That I will tell everyone I know to avoid Mr. Tire. I realize they changed their name from Import Export due to the same problems. Guess they'll have to change their name again since they haven't changed their terrible business practices.

I will never go to mr. tire again
I took my car to Mr. Tire on Friday July 23rd, 2010, because I needed new front tires. After pulling up a laundry list of items they said I should have worked on, I told them to clean out the gunk in my throttle. Soon after lifting my hood, the guy behind the counter brought it to my attention that the tip of the part that connects the vaccume hose had been broken and claimed that the previous place that I took my car was responsible. They rigged the hose back up and I left. When I hit the highway, my car started shaking like crazy. I called Mr. Tire and told them about it. They told me to take my car back. They had not balanced the tires. Then that night, my engine light came on due to the hose. Mr. Tire told me for a second time that it wasnt their fault. On Saturday they fixed the balancing at no charge. But by Monday the air hose was becoming a larger issue. After going to a dealership Monday afternoon to look at the problem, it was learned that the repair would cost $518 DOLLARS. I then called Mr. Tire headquarters and they took the side of the repair shop. Later Monday afternoon, the hose came loose and everything locked up. I finished up on the side of the road in a terrible neighborhood until somebody came with duct tape to help me. I will now have to get this expensive part and use a rental car for the next couple of days.
I WILL NEVER GO TO MR. TIRE AGAIN!
oil change + tire rotation
I went to this Cherry Hill location with a coupon for $19.99 to get an oil change, brake inspection, 4 tire rotation, and free general inspection. The final bill came out to little over ~27 dollars. I was greeted by a front desk person, Gary who was very courteous and helpful. After waiting more than 30 minutes I was brought aside from the store manager...

Went to Mr. Tire for a simple oil change. I also asked that they change the oil pan bolt (the current one was getting rounded). I gave them information about the vehicle and the manager printed the invoice, flipped it over and asked me to sign it first. I thought this was very strange since all other invoices have the signature on the front, where you can see the charges. I picked it up and turned it over only to see that the $19.99 oil change was going to cost me almost $80! I asked him what this was all about. He said that my car calls for full synthetic oil (This is a lie). I told him no, I wanted regular oil in it. When the job was done I asked about them putting the new oil pan bolt in, and if I owed anything for it. The manger said no, they did not put a new bolt in, they didn't have any. I told him I wish he would have told me that or I would have went out and bought a new one for them to install.

brakes for life, not!
I just want to warn anyone else away from getting suckered into the brakes for life deal that these folks offer. I've actually heard that these deals are essentially useless irrespective of who you buy them from, but my first hand experience is with Mr Tire. After having bought the brakes for life previously, in preparation for my state inspection I brought the my Ford Explorer into have them checked. I was informed that both front and back brakes would need to be replaced to pass inspection, and that both sets of rotors would also have to be replaced. Despite the "free" pads for life the total cost of the work was to be $1100.00! I told them (a) that the price seemed a little excessive, and (b) whether they'd heard of turning rotors. They made some lame excuses about why the rotors couldn't be turned, and had to be replaced and offered to reduce the price to $850 + tax. I decided NOT to have them do the work, took the vehicle somewhere more reputable, who did the state inspection and said my brakes were fine. Bottom line, Mr Tire's brakes for life deal is worthless. They will not actually provide you new replacement brakes, unless you also let them seriously overcharge you for additional parts that you don't actually need.

dishonest
I took both of my families cars to Mr Tire over the same weekend for simple oil changes and tire rotations. The first car, a VW Jetta, left with a recommendation of new rear shocks (quoted about $450) and the front end shaking at high speed acceleration. The second car, a Jeep Liberty, left with an alleged power steering leak (quoted about $1400) and brakes pulsating. All of this after simple oil changes and tire rotations. I took the Jeep to a mechanic friend and then a different mechanic shop; both said there was no signs of a leak. I can't prove anything but not only did my cars leave with unnecassary recommendations but they left worse off than when I first took them to Mr Tire. F--- Mr Tire in the ear.

struts didnt even need repaired!
This was the worst experience I have ever had getting my car repaired! I would never recommend this company to anyone ever! So what should have been an easy fix turned into a nightmere! My car was making a noise they told me it was the struts so I had them replace them. I picked my car up and it sounded worse then when I dropped it off to them. I took it back and they had broke the spring because they didn't compress it right! They tired charging me for this part till I called corporate and made them replace it at no cost! So they fixed that and my car still made the noise. They gave me an estimate of $500 and I ended up paying $850! And my car still sounded like crap! I ended up taking my car somewhere else to have them look at it. They replaced my sway arm links charged $125 only had my car for 1 hour and it was fixed! The noise is gone! Now why couldn't they dumb manager at Mr Tire figure this out?!?!?!?!? Maybe because he is too worried about his sales then he is about customer service! I think this place is awful and will never go there ever ever again and will tell everyone what a P.O.S place this is to get anything done to their car.

worst excuse for customer service ever!
I went to Mr. Tire this weekend to have all four tires replaced and an allignment check done. The work took three hours to complete, which was strike number one. The employees were completely incompetent and had no idea how to properly process a credit card payment. I found out the day after that I was charged twice for the "service" and that my account had been overdrawn by approximately $400. When I contacted the store the manager there stated that there was nothing he could do, which is complete bull if you ask me. They are scam artists who are trying to take advantage of their customers. They even had the nerve to suggest that I write my credit card number down in case the payment didn't process correctly so it could be fixed. Right. I feel sorry for the helpless idiot who falls for that one. But needless to say, they someone stole the money from my account. Now I am stuck with no money to pay bills that are due until the charge posts and I can dispute it officially with my bank. This issue is also causing my funds for my wedding to be unavailable and is causing me to potentially not be able to make an important payment on the reception hall (causing loss of date). I'm glad that replacing my tires has completely ruined my future, and that the so-called business shows no concern for its customers. If they do not pay any and all late fees that I incur due to this issue, they will be receiving a call from my attorney. The corporate office and better business bureau will also be receiving calls very soon. I would forewarn any and all potential customers of Mr. Tire of the idiocy and poor "service" you will experience from the company. Please save yourself the time and hassle and find another business.

inept and/or dishonest
Had a flat. Was desperate, so went to Mr. Tire. Drove in on the spare. They put on a new tire. Later, had another flat. Went to get the spare. Mr. Tire's technicians had not seen fit to put the spare back into the space saver. The space saver sits hidden away under carpet in the trunk. I never thought they would actually steal or forget the spare. When I called to get the spare back they basically laughed it off and did not care. Did they steal the stupid spare for their own nefarious purposes? I don't know, and they do not care, as Kyle made clear to me on the phone. They simply do not give a crap.

time
I called ahead to get some General Grabber AT2's installed on my truck, and they gave me a price and said what time to stop by. After I arrived they said it would be an hour or so before they could get me in, so I told them to nevermind and I would come back later. After this they told me I could be squezzed in about 10 min later, then they spent less then 5 min to lift the truck and pull the tires off. Now I'm stuck there ... I waited for almost 1 1/2 hrs before they even did anything else. The tires they sold me were good, the work seemed ok, but come on 2 hrs for tires! While I was there 2 other customers had showed up complained about false prices and bad work. Some poor guys car was on the lift and they said they were pulling the engine ... I'm guessing that will take 2 or 3 months!

service
Brought my car into Mr. Tire for new tires. Made an apoointment on line and picked out the tires on line. They changed the tires, but put on a higher priced tire than I picked out. The tires they put on cost me $100.00 more than the tires that Ioriginally picked out. They also did aa alignment (at least they said they did). However, they never give you the alignment sheet with the pre and post alignment figures. I have brought 4 cars this year for tires at Mr. Tire. I will find a new place. Don't let them do repairs on your car, they will rip you off. Wrote to corporate about my experience and never heard from them as well as my phone calls to the manager

customer service
I went into Mr. Tire for a flat tire that I had this morning, 12/13/2010. I arrived at 9am and was told that they would fix it in two to three hours. I wanted to know, at 12pm, how mush more time will it take. The person whom I spoke with told me to ask management in a very rude and unprofessional matter which I did not appreciate. So, I asked Martin Davi...

I WILL NEVER GO TO MR. TIRE AGAIN!
I went to Mr. Tire to get my tires balanced and one new tire They said it would take about 45-1 hour, so my wife and i walked to Walmart nearby. after 2 hours we had still not recieved a call, so i called them. They said they had trouble getting my lug nuts off, and the only way to get them off would be to damage them to where they wouldnt be able to go back on. They asked me to go buy some lug nuts and then they would do it. (A company with the word TIRE in it doesnt have lug nuts?) Walmart didnt have lug nuts either. I returned to Mr. Tire disappointed, but happy to see at least the new tire was on. the total was around 80 bucks. I gave him two 50 dollar bills, and he said "oh i dont have but 12 dollars in my drawer. I said, to help them out, i would just pay for the balancing now, and come back tomorrow, that way he would have enough to give me change. Well that night i bought new lug nuts, i was able to get ALL of my lug nuts off, WITH A SIMPLE SOCKET SET. so the next day i went and asked to just have my money back, that i would go somewhere else to get the tires balanced. I was told i couldnt have my money back since it was the next day. I explained that i, myself, was able to get the lug nuts off so their excuse was b.s., and that i paid for the balancing the night before to HELP THEM OUT!. I still was unable to get any money back, or even an apology...they ignorantly told me i would have to wait for the corporate office to MAIL me a check...so now i shall wait for the money back from my mistake of being kind the night before...Mr. Tire, never again

Initially went for a slow leak in a tire. Multiple tires later, when we requested a routine brake check to be told "no problem" our brakes seized. We returned and were told the rotors and brake pads need to be replaced.
A few weeks later, the brakes were grinding and performance was terrible and frightening. Mr. Tire replaced them. Two weeks later, the same problems have occurred. Mr. Tire is not safe, honest or reliable.
Stay away! Save your families.

Let me be added to the Maryland complaints.
On 6/25/10, I took my 08' Honda Accord to Mr. Tire's Parkville, Joppa Road facility. I wanted to get an oil change and tire rotation.
I arrived about 9:30 AM and was told that since I didn't have an appointment, my wait would be between one and one and a half hours. I couldn't wait, so I scheduled an appointment for 5:00 PM that same day.
I arrived at 4:45 PM, I gave them my name and appointment time. I was asked if I could give them one hour. Why was the wait one hour, with an appointment? Anyway, since this was second time there, I agreed. After one hour, my car was still sitting on the lot untouched. I asked them what was happening with my car and reminded them about their one hour commitment. I was told my car would be taken to the shop within five minutes. They said, "due to the heat", the technicians were taking twice as long as normal. Or did they over schedule their day's work...you think so?
Well the five minutes turned into twenty minutes. So, at about 6:20 PM my car was taken into the shop for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I did not get my car back until 7:30 PM. So, my 5:00 PM APPOINTMENT time lasted two and one half hours.
I've been to this facility before, but I am not sure if I'll return, due to them not honoring their committed time and unconcerned attitude towards my wait.
tires
during April of 09 I bought 4 tires at the store in the Festival of Bel Air. The price was right and the service quick. 14 months later and only 4, 000 miles driven on these tires I wanted to change my front brakes by myself. Something I had done many times. I couldn't get the lug nuts off. I had all types of professional tools and even had a 2 foot pipe on the breaker bar. They are suppose to be torqued to 100 foot pounds and these are way beyond that. I don't think he realized the damage one can do with an impact gun
These people are not professionals, I believe that everyone has to learn thier trade but not on my car.

price gouging on parts
On Friday, April 16, 2010 I took my vehicle to Mr. Tire (located on 1501 York Road, Cockeysville, Maryland, 21030) to have my brakes checked. I left my vehicle there and returned to my office. I received a phone call from "Brad" advising all four rotars and brake pads would have to be replaced and it would cost $919.98. I told Brad I would call my husband and call him back. My husband called and spoke with Brad to get the cost breakdown. Brad proceeded to tell my husband that the cost for the parts alone was going to be $640.00. My husband proceeded to tell Brad that the parts at Advance Auto Parts cost $325.00 and that is the RETAIL price. Brad proceeded to tell my husband that the prices for the parts were marked up because "we have a business to run". My husband proceeded to tell Brad not to fix the brakes. I went and picked up my vehicle. My husband then purchased the brakes from Advance Auto Parts. He purchased the mid grade brakes for $325.00 including tax and had them installed elsewhere. How can Mr. Tire charge someone 100% markup for parts? My husband thinks it is because I am a female so they tried to rip me off! I WILL NEVER TAKE MY VEHICLE THERE AGAIN AND I WILL BE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW AND DON'T KNOW NOT TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES THERE OR THEY WILL BE RIPPED OFF TOO!

They are the worst. I went there to get 4 new tires. I had priced them out and knew what I needed. They tried to tell me I needed $2, 000 worth of tires - Should have been $800. Then amazingly I needed my breaks done. I got the $800 tires - went to dealership to check breack - they still had 74% wear left. Later found out they used my spare tire as one of the new tires and replaced it with a wrong sized donut. Since then I go only to the dealership, where I have bought 5 cars from
. It may cost a bit more, but I know they will do a good job and not try to get one over on me.
My mom had the same problem. They tried to price gouge her and she walked away laughing because they obviously thought they'd get over on her since she was a female.
