Subj: Mr. Tire work on replacing Steering Rack & Pinion replacement.

1060 Wayne Avenue Chambersburg, Pa 17201

I tried to have a teaching moment with them by giving them 3 copies of the letter below (please read). They did not respond by the deadline, and totally ignore the information. I was willing to talk and try to work something out. Even though what they did was a major safety issue as you will see from the pictures below. If I had done this in my field of work, it would be major repercussions for violating someone safety! It was also view by the base mechanic also.

To: Mr. Tire / Management / Mechanics

Subj: Steering Rack & Pinion replacement.

1060 Wayne Avenue Chambersburg, Pa 17201

1) I came to Mr. Tire March 30, 2023, and inquired could they repair my 2013 Ford Fusion SE. And they stated that they could, and it was a 4–6-hour job. I ask could they have the rack and pinion steering part by the 31st and they said they couldn’t So, I decided to try to order one online, and found success with an overnight delivery of the part (Cardone 1A-2014) Remanufactured rack and pinion steering system. Time was not on myself being I worked in Frederick, MD

2) April 1, 2023 I brought the Fusion in about 0900 am for repair because that’s when they said the tech expert would be there. They did not have it fixed that day. They said the mechanic would be there Sunday April 2, 2023 to finish the job. I came back towards the end of the day and the car was not finished. Monday April 3, 2023 my car was not finished claiming they had to order new tie-rods and lower control arms. Which I had brand new ones installed before I came there.

3) I rented a car that Monday April 3, 2023 because I could not afford to be out of work again that day. (Car Rental 2-days) Enterprise - $189.72

4) Tuesday afternoon April 4, 2023 my car was ready for pickup.

5) Since they had my car for 4-days Friday 7, 2023 I decide to put it on a lift and check it out along with the mechanic on Carlisle Army base.

6) What we found was unsat and dangerous, especially the missing lower control arm and transmission mount nuts. I am going to give you guy’s a chance to look this over. This could be a teaching moment if you look at it the right way. Thank God I looked at it before I went out of town this past weekend

7) I have corrected the issues with my car.

8) Bottom line you guy’s need to reimburse me at least some of my payment. That is only fair! Think how you would handle it if it where you! You have my phone and email, let me know something. I am going to give you a chance to make it right. And this will go away. Deadline April 14, 2023

9) See attached photo’s

Respectfully,

Mario Roberts

Mr. Tire E250 ford vann

My brake line broke. I called Mr. Tires, to see if they could fix my vann the same day. I was told they could. I took my vann to them. After they checked my vann. They called me, said one line needed to be replace. But they want to replace all 4 lines for $1600 dollars. I told them no. I just want the one line repaired. They lied saying they couldn't replace just replace one line. They they were unable to get to the one line they had to replace all the lines. I told them no. They kept pushing saying they could not do just one line. I needed My vann. I push into letting them do the work. They called me 4:30 said my vann will be ready by 5:50. I got their the next morning. My vann was not ready. They it would be read by 3:00. Iwent back by 3:30. It still not ready they told me I needed brakes, rotors and calibers on the back. It would cost 2524. Dollars all together. I told no. They called me later said they broke the bleeder on both calibers. I told I was having my vann tolled out of their. They said the computer made a mistake they would do everything for $1600 dollars. The calibers would cost 200.00 each. The next day I went to pickup my vann. They gave me my vann with no working brakes. This has been the worst time of my life. I want my money back and for what

Desired outcome: I want 5000 dollars for what they put me through. Keeping my vann 3 days longer then expected . Breaking the bleeder on my calibers and charging me for the reason to replace my brakes calibers and rotors After, I told them no.

Mr. Tire Windshield wipers

This is a car inspection from PA. I was told my wipers needed changed. Quoted me a figure to replace at $19.95 plus $3 to install. I said okay. When the bill came it was $46 for 2 wipers. As a senior citizen it feels like a scam to be overcharged for these wipers. I had to listen to the mechanics talk about beer battered fish and golden chicken, while my car sat in the garage. Even that didn't make me mad but felt like my time wasn't important. Now, I am scamed out of $46 dollars. Thanking you for your advice.

Desired outcome: I would like a partial refund on this work.

Mr. Tire Annual state inspection

I took my vehicle to Mr. Tire on January 23rd, 2023. This branch location is on south Miami Blvd Durham,NC 27703.

I have been taking my truck there since 2016 for inspections. I paid my inspection fee of $32 and went about my day. I then realized on January 26th that the inspection said “failed”. I called the same branch for clarification and they told me to drop the vehicle back off. Several hours later they informed me that my truck had failed the inspection due to the tint. I wanted some sort of explanation as to why the inspection had passed every year by the same location, by the same people, for the past 6 years but now suddenly it can’t pass for the window tint. Why wasn’t this brought to my attention years ago. Instead of explaining the situation or providing detailed information, I only received terrible customer service. I also asked for a refund for the $6 and they told me that I was actually UNDERCHARGED for the failed inspection. I believe NC law is $23 and you pay the different from $30 once it passes. They charged me the full $30.

Customer service goes a long way. It’s not that they failed the inspection but how they addressed it. I have had disappointment after disappointment and today was the last straw.

Additionally, how could they pass it for 6 years but now suddenly they couldn’t.

I’m pregnant and now they have caused more work for me as I wish they had told me this sooner. I did not appreciate the customer service and believe they should learn how to treat others especially.

Mr. Tire State inspection

i took my 2021 ford escape to mr tire on rodi road penn hills november 9 for state inspection. i informed the person on the desk my car was driven a little over 2000 miles the previous year. he printed up a work order for me to sign with an estimate with conventional oil change of $115.00 when my car was finished. the charge was $148.00 he charged me for emissions testing instead of giving me a waiver. i have had my car since october 2021. when i objected, the man kept pointing at my signature on the receipt saying"you signed it". i signed a work order permission not a receipt. instead of listening to me this man deliberately ignored me and refused to give me my receipt and paper work. instead he deliberately began doing paperwork for a car parts delivery person he tried to tell me "pass or fail" i get charged." i stated i get a waiver not charged.

i demand a full refund after this and will never go to this place again. i have had my cars inspected at that shop for over 5 years, but never again. i am also notifying the DMV of this fraud as well as the BBB. RETURN MY MONEY NOW!

Desired outcome: REFUND

Mr. Tire Overcharged for a past service…

Today (10/27/2022) I went to my local Mr. Tire, where I’ve been many times. I had a leak in one of my tires (which I had purchased 4 tires in 2017 from that store)…and needed to get it patched. The manager Shawn Cockran…looked it up and said they weren’t in the system. Fortunately I had my receipt…and he got it patched for me. In the process of looking for my tire receipt, he noticed that I had been over charged for AC service….. because the old manager had charged for the first AC service. Then some time later (within the warranty), they charged me again for AC service. I didn’t know and was not informed of a warranty. Shawn Cockran noticed it when looking through my past services. He did not have to say anything…. he could have seen it and just thought.. why get involved. He didn’t…. he’s a great guy and a great store manager. He should be commended for his honesty.

By the way….. I was over charged app.121.00 $ for that second AC service. I would like to be reimbursed if possible. It only seems fair, money is vey tight.

Please contact me and let me know.

E-mail : [protected]@yahoo.com or call me [protected]. My name is Paul Clark. My store is at 2837 Gypsy Hill road, Cambridge, Md 21613. Not sure of stores #.

Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed if possible…..either pay check or maybe a Mr.Tire debit card. Also I think that Shawn Cockran should be recognized for his outstanding customer service.

Mr. Tire Lack of (NO) service

Scheduled an appointment with Mr Tire in Middletown Delaware for Sep. 26, 2022 @ 8:30am. Arrived early, waited, until 8:40am they were still closed.

I left to go to anther shop to fix my leak in my tire that is still under warranty with Mr Tire.

Tire was fixed for $60.00, drove back to Mr Tire at 10am, they were still closed.

Drove to Mr Tire the next day 9/27/2022 to get my $60 refunded to me from Mr Tire. The manager made copies of my original tire purchase (under warranty) and my receipt from the other shop to fix the leak. The Manager Cindy Seeney said she will send the paper work to Corporate. On 9/28/2022, I tried calling Mr. Tire Corporate phone number: [protected] which isn't the correct number.

Desired outcome: I should be reimbursed the $60.00 I paid for another shop to fix my tire that is under warranty by Mr Tire that scheduled me an appointment when the facility was closed.

Mr. Tire Product/service : Mr. Tire, store number #1554

I made an appointment for my 2003 Mazda b2300 pickup at Mr. Tire store number 1554 6740 Frankford Ave Philadelphia Pennsylvania 19135. [protected] for check engine light code P0171 lean code and a coolant leak in the engine compartment left side heater hose. I was quoted a price of 2400 dollars to correct the issues by store manager Levi Perron. The appointment was set 9/7/2022. I received a called by Levi Perron the next day stating he could not fixed the coolant leak do to lack of tools needed to complete the job. At that point he stated the engine code P0171 was fixed. As I went to pick up my vehicle he did an engine tune up without notifying me and replacing vacuum hoses. Charging me 1,027.88 dollars. As I went to pick the vehicle up the check engine light was still on with a new code P2004 for the IMRC valve and the vehicle was running rough. Manager Levi Perron he could not fixed that part because it was factory ordered. My vehicle went into the shop with a total different code P0171 and running fine. He only changed two vacuum hoses. I believe I was sold a service not needed and after paying the bill my vehicle came out worse and rough ilding. And I still have to get the IMRC corrected. I used to go there for years but now the service is horrible and mechanics do not know what they are doing

Desired outcome: I would like to be remimburse for all the work that was not needed and having to go somewhere else to have this mess they created fixed like it should have been in the first place. And an apology.

Mr. Tire Bad service, stupid employees, and "I don't give a crap how long it takes to do my job technicians"

We can do better.

Okay, I'm a long time customer who has 3 cars serviced at your stores.

Your service is getting piss poor. I'm a disabled VET and might just sayt F(* it, I'll do it myself.

Is it the hourly rate you pay your employees, it can't be what you charge.

Honestly, I'm trying real hard to work with your local tire center.

Just today. I went on line, scheduled an appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early. All I wanted was a tire rotation. yes of course I purchased my truck tires from your place.

I also wanted my car inspected and the emissions checked. (your store lost their license from the state). Come on, really.

Then I waited for over an hour, the service tech still hadn't rotated my tires.

Oh by the way. It takes one guy, 15 minutes per tire to rotate them, when they actually get to it. (in case you wanted to know that or are keeping records)

I also asked about draining/ replacing my coolant and changing my oil. The young idiot behind the desk said, you all couldn't do that.

It's almost as if you hire stupid people so you all can lose money.

I'm from NY, my daughter still lives in NY. I get it. You should be in business to make money.

Well, perhaps you all have some stores where you intentionally loose money. Gainesville, Va is probably one of them.

This store sucks, and I'll probably not be returning.

Greg Murray

Desired outcome: I'm not sure you can fix stupid. Good luck. Perhaps invest in your people.

Mr. Tire 2 vehicles, grossly overpriced, no estimate and replaced radiator expressly told not to

On 5/30/22 called and quoted $25 a tire mount & balanced. Never got newspare back. The “mgr.” Bill spent 2 hours playing on my misfortune (loss of only child, current diagnosis of deathly disease that at the time was so obvious at 90 lbs., the unchristian behaviors of hired subs and the loss of almost 100k that year to them, the city flooding land with sewage water causing deadly toxic mold in my now worthless home and the rape that was the beginning of my completely coming undone). But, he knew I had just gotten a 65 k check at closing for home taking a massive hit.

He empathized, he acted enraged, he showed compassion and he said well it stops here! I’ve got your back. No one else will rip you off, at least not when it comes to your vehicles. I bit. Hook, line and sinker. Starved for truth, honesty and simply doing what was right. At 50, a single, dying woman who was completely alone I am trying to forgive myself for allowing the most blatant wrongs of all to be done to me and still being done to me by my “ rescuer”.

I had just purchased a used Hyundai and told him I was having major title issues and very concerned that it was an insurance buy back and was likely branded. That I had already spent almost 800 on rims and tires and I purchased knowing I would need to do some repairs, but if it was a salvage vehicle I’d lose every bit of that and more which I couldn’t afford to do.

I explained I was sure it needed front pads and possibly rear. I asked that he examine the rotors for turning purposes ( told him no catching or grinding). I also told him that both front sides made loud clicking noise in deep turning. Having owned a used car lot for many years I said, “ I don’t know if it’s the cv boots, the bearings, tie rods or struts. Either way, both sides have issues.” I asked for a tune-up, oil change, a/c charge, free diagnostic’s and inspection for damages, and the $89 alignment.

Other than the $100 for mount and balance and $89 alignment I was NEVER given a price either verbal or written. Bill popped head in from garage 2x. Once, saying I’m assuming you want me to replace wheel sensors. I assumed we were talking about weights…I’ve never had anyone ask about anything else in likely 100’s of sets of tires in my life. The other time was to tell me, sadly, I needed a new axle. Ok what? I said you mean boots? No, those were shredded and gone. I hadn’t been in the business for years, was under great duress and assumed I was not understanding him. If my axle shaft was gone I highly doubt I could have driven car in. So, I said ok.

Roughly 3 hours later Nick, at register, said you’re all set. $1,559. I said WTH? Why so much? He shrugged saying those CV axles can be expensive.

Here’s what was done supposedly: wheel alignment 89.99, sensors $239.96 ( tires had 800 miles on them, Tires mounted $100, 1 Outer Brk pad, 1 outer back brake pad, 2 outer F & 2 outer B rotors? What? $768.82, 1 RF VB shaft $319.99 and $39.99 misc shop fees.

No a/c, no inspection for damages, no tuneup and no oil change. I was never asked about or told about rotors and rear brakes. I back out, turn hard right, click click click. Car is unaligned also. He plays stupid. I don’t understand test drove it myself and I swear it only needed one side. I reiterated that I told him both sides, that it wasn’t aligned and asked if he’d inspected for damages. No, there weren’t any open wracks. I was late to get dogs and he said bring it back and I’ll make it right.

It’s worth noting that my copy of the bill states estimate created on 5/30 and the bill printed on 5/31 states not an invoice an estimate. Invoice # deposit. No signatures. No initials. I’m exhausted already and I have vehicle 2 to go. Vehicle 2 was taken in on July 29th for alignment and fuel diagnostics. I was told I should be able to pick it up the following business day and drop vehicle 1 back off to complete repairs. Vehicle 2 was still sitting while I stayed in a hotel waiting on it to tow camper to my pre-paid site 60 miles away almost 3 weeks later.

Bill asked did I want him to take it to Newton store with him. Evidently he hadn’t worked at Hickory location for awhile. Yes, please I need Jeep. I’m losing everything and every chance at owning anything ever again with each day that goes by. Presented with yet another unauthorized and unsigned estimate/bill of $1,426 Bill will not give it back.Did I mention He said it’s a good Jeep how much are you asking for it? Lol.

Thank you Mr. Tire. As of writing this, I had to literally surrender my family, my hounds. I no longer could afford a hotel. I now sleep in my car. Which has filthy oil, idles at .25, clicks and pops and is unaligned wearing tires.

Desired outcome: Can’t give back a persons family? Home? Health? Dignity? A morsel, my Jeep, pay repairs not made or unauthorized.

NC statutes state all repairs must be approved by customer in writing on a repair estimate via signature only. No repairs can be made until estimate is presented and consent is given by documentation. Also, states that a repair shop may not keep a customer’s vehicle for non-payment unless both the estimate and the invoice are accepted by signature. Offer and acceptance contract law. Last pics are the only family I had left and no longer have. And there’s me looking better than I did in May. Gained 11 pounds since vacating mold house!

We are a neighboring business located next to store in Timonium on Padonia Rd. I bought new tires and had the store mount & balance. First of all, when I went out to my car... The new tires were still in the back of my car. They simply rotated the old ones. I inquired about a new valve stem and was told that the store doesnt do that. Second... I woke sat...

Mr. Tire Ripped off

Last week I asked for a quote from my local Mr. Tire store via their website for new tires and installation. I reviewed the quote and ordered new tires. My quote was for 5 Yokohama Advan Sport A/S + 245/50R18 Tires, advertised on Mr. Tire website $211.99 each plus installation. Total for my quote was tires $1059.95 Basic installation for tires $99.95 and $25 for tire disposal for a grand total of $1184.90

When I picked up my car the total was for a whopping $1632.05 a difference of $447.15.

I did not ask for nor did I authorize an alignment but was charged for the service ($129.99)

I was also charged for lifetime install on tires which I did not request (123.96). I feel completely ripped off by this store and I am requesting a refund of at least the two items listed above (alignment and lifetime tire service.

Desired outcome: Refund for services I did not request nor a approve.

Mr. Tire Tire warranty

On 7/25/2022, I called Mr. Tire Auto Center #1209 in Camden Wyoming, DE to schedule an appointment to have them inspect the 4 tires I purchased from them in 2020 for dry rot and an issue with the left front tire going flat, they scheduled my appointment for July 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm.

I inflated the tire on the morning of the 28th and arrived at their auto center for my 2:00 pm appointment.

Upon checking in with Patricia Vance (Manager), she advised me that their system has me scheduled for Friday, July 29th however, if I wanted to wait, they would try to fit me in. I advised them that I was specifically told Thursday the 28th, not Friday the 29th and yes I will wait, I need this corrected.

I was called to the counter and told they are bring my vehicle in for inspection and asked what problem I had with the tires.

I advised the left front tire is not holding air and at least two of the tires have dry rot cracks in the tread.

I went on to advise him that I purchased their road hazard and replacement warranty on the tires and I don't feel safe driving on tires with dry rot and am especially concerned about two of the two-year-old tires developing dry rot.

One of the Service Techs advised the tires are not dry rotted and he is having the tire inspected and resealed so it won't lose air anymore.

He basically said he wasn't going to replace the tire(s). Two days after they supposedly corrected the air leak, the tire went flat again.

On 8/18/2022 I brought my vehicle to the Mr. Tire Auto Center #1346 in Seaford, DE for a 2nd opinion and inspection.

Cody Bradshaw inspected the tires and advised me that they were in fact dry rotted and in need of replacement.

I ended up paying $496.82 to have the four tires replaced.

I was credited $70.87 for each of the two tires that were obviously dry rotted and paid $133.99 full price for each of the two remaining tires because there wasn't enough evidence of dry rot.

Mr. Tire Auto Center #1209 failed to honor the warranty I had purchased from them and knowingly allowed me to drive away from their facility on unsafe tires.

I should not have had to pay full price for two of the replacement tires, I should have been credited for all four tires since they were defective, not just two.

I plan to follow up with a complaint against Mr. Tire Auto Center #1209 to the BBB for their neglect to honor their own warranty.

Respectfully,

Paul A. Tessicini Sr.

7 Abagail Circle

Harrington, DE 19952

Desired outcome: I feel I should be reimbursed $141.74 for the other two tires and fairly compensated for the inconvenience of having to waste gas and a day to get this corrected by a competent Mr. Tire Auto Center.

Mr. Tire lug nuts

Oh the Camden DE store was well aware of my complaint and told my friend she called corporate. They handed me a bill of $259, but I didn't have to pay because the woman said, "she called corporate", really? You had my car for a tire rotation on Friday and Tuesday i get a flat tire and the repair man couldn'tt get lug nuts off after an hour in 106 heat, he told me what they did, it wasn't swollen lug nuts.

They made little mistakes over the years but we kept going back, wonder if my $200 head light was really $200

Desired outcome: i will tell anyone i can about them, 3 days for a flat tire and lie.

They closed at 5:00 and could not get a ride in time to pick up my car Monday took to Koerner Ford Syracuse ny the said the hood release was installed wrong. The wrench light was on because of throttle failed.

Bill Parts $274.53

Labor $678.00

Most of the labor was removing the twisted hood release

Desired outcome: I had to pay for two hood releases and installation of both and missed problem I deserve to be reimbursed for repairs but I am not asking anything cost of transportation to and from both places.
