Anyone know who to contact at Netflix about this? I'm so tired of getting movies that garble half way through. Netflix needs to clean the DVDs before sending them out. Seems that this should be a basic part of the service, delivering a DVD that plays all the way through. I keep reporting this as damaged discs and never get a response or acknowledgement. Seems that Netflix isn't too concerned with delivering a quality experience.

Netflix has no sense of quality control or customer service. Even when you report a DVD as unplayable it is not taken out of their inventory. They just send it to the next guy and the replacement you get isn't likely to be any better. The only way to combat this is once you discover a DVD is unplayable, BREAK IT IN HALF and report it as delivered that way. If we all do this, these bad DVDs will be taken out of circulation and Netflix will get the message!

i have been a customer of netflix since they started. occasionally i have a psroblem with a bad disk. i call them on the phone number listed on the site open 24/7 and whoever answers the phone first apologizes to me for my inconvenience and ships a replacement withing 48 hours.

i have never had a problem with this 24/7 service line.

Every time I get a borrowed DVD from Netflix and the public library, I always check the business end and wash those discs showing medium to heavy usage with warm water and dish detergent (then wipe dry with Kleenex) before I stick the DVD in my computer drive. I also have a cleaner - spray and spin around. If the disk looks unused, I don't clean it.

I do agree that Netflix has a responsibility and they should have better quality control. Meanwhile, I'll take the initiative to protect my computer drive from dirt. And I''m just happy with the ready availability and the quick one-day turnaround. I get a lot from the cheapest subscription of one DVD at a time and unlimited instant streaming.

For the past few months 1 out of 3 DVD's will not play properly. Coincidence or the beginning of the end? Netflix has been a successful undertaking so far but quality problems like these usually mark the beginning of the end. Not only are DVD's in very poor condition, it is almost impossible to get a newly released DVD within a reasonable time frame. I have reduced my subscription to the minimum (1 DVD) and if problems continue, I'm done with Nextflix. Sayonara.

I'll have to be neutral on this as I'm only two weeks into the DVD by mail system. I will have to say the disc are coming as fast as to be expected to my door. From what I have read on post for the series I am watching is that there are others that are still waiting for receive the first of the five disc and I've almost completed the series. That may be the attempt to impress the newbie out of the trial and into the monthly subscription. I will say that all my disc have come to the door as if just taken out of the box.
If you have issues with the finger prints or peanut butter splotches there is instructions on how to clean on the envelope. Do it yourself as if Netfix must do it they may have to hire a disc cleaner and that may mean an increase in our subscription rate and right now my cost is equal to the Redbox but with a much larger selection.

We've been customers since 2006, with DVD subscription because there was not enough good streaming to warrant the extra money. Lately--I'd say for the last year or so in particular--nearly ALL the DVDs we receive appear new and flawless but still stop a third way through the disk, and won't continue. We've sent all back, noting them as damaged and although Netflix sends new ones sometimes even those don't work. We finally called them and asked if they are getting them from an inexpensive seller, and were told that yes, they were. That 70% of our DVDs are unplayable is inexcusable. We've stopped renting the new movies from them, getting them instead from RedBox where they come out earlier. We now use Netflix for those TV shows that are not available anywhere else, that we want to watch and don't mind continually sending back DVDs for replacements.
