Agree I think that if you have no personal experience with the card company then you should shut up.. I for one had very good credit never needed a prepaid anything until some low life stole my identity in illinois and I lived in iowa so I have been left to clean up the mess I have been a netspend customer for over 8 years and two months ago the company allowed a merchant to charge, me 1, 868 for charges that I never authorized in addition to that netspend never set up my text message alerts, or emails alerts after calling them over 22 times in the last 37 days a week before they should have my money refunded they closed my account and no one knows why I am not in a position to take that kind of a loss I have 3 children to support and I work hard to keep our heads above water I want my money back and I will not stop until I get it.. I never received any notice about my account being closed at all.. This is an attempt to play shady games and not fix the problem on there end and I am the wrong person to that to my children and I have been homless and I was abused for 4 years of my life and getting my life back on track is the one thing I must do and netspend is slowing me down I will stop at nothing until my funds are returned the rich and powerful have enough they wont keep my money and write me off and I dont care about the opinions of you other people who have no clue what it is like so shut up.. I have been trying to reach mr. Chuck harris president of netspend no surprise that no one cares to respond... I will be moving fwd in my fight to get my money back...

Basically my card was stolen andvmoney took out of my account. Customer service keeps hanging up on me. When I so get thru they have 5 different stories.
Netspend promised provisional credit by today.
I was due to pay rent.
I am now being kicked out as we speak.

Corneilous Wheaton, active duty service member. This is unjustice! I was recently deployed and somehow my card was stolen and where I was deployed I had no communications or internet. I return home to see that not only was my card missing but all of the money on it was gone as well. I called Netspend and they are giving me the most unethical feedback. One agent said 10 days for provisional credit and one more said 20 days. I am outraged! This is totally unacceptable. my name is timothy Davis my card was stolen from my locker at work along with all my id, i have direct deposit and was paid 324.00 and so change I gave no one permission to use my card, I talked to some one from netspend on phone today about this problem and was told to send this letter to you about it, . MY INFO NUMBER IS [protected]. AND MY CLAM NUMBER is 2792701. I was told that I would get reinberted for my money it it important that I get this money back as to pay my rent. I have banked with netspend for a year. Everything has been great, up until this last month. There were several discrepsncies on my last statement; i. E. Multiple charges from the same company for the same amount on the same day and a payment for $800 rather than the usual $80 I pay monthly for my credit card. I filed disputes and they closed my account! I have this account as my preference for my college refund deposits. I have made over $15, 000 worth of deposits into this account. It is very disappointing they would close my account. Supposedly a check with the balance I had in my account is supposed to be on its way, I have yet to see it.

So I bought a and my husband put 400.00 dallors on it so we could pay are bills and I went om line to register it and I could only get so far so I called customer support for help the man I talked to put in the information and so I thought that I was all good well when I went to pay my car payment it wouldn't go through now I have never had any problems with Netspend before I went to try and login on line so I could pay my bill and I couldn't get into my account at all so I called again this time a lady helped me and she give me a new password and of course I still couldn't get into the account she said that she would send me a new password in my email I never got an email from them and I decided to go to bed mind you I used it at family dallor so it was still working than the next day I figured that i would just take the money out and pay cash at the atm it wouldn't work and so I thought maybe it was the atm and than it happened again when I went out to dinner and tried to use by now I'm just mad so I call again so now my account is lock and not only that they charge for phone calls and I have to send prooff that I am who I say I am and so the guy saidbsome would call me that never happened so I called and now I'm pretty mad and the guy barley let me talk witch posses me off even more so I asked for a manager and I waited on the phone for a long time finally get someone to answer and he hangs up on me so I call back i finally get someone who knows what she is talking about and she told me that my email was not spelled right and I spelled it for the guy even so now it's been 3 days and I still cant get any money I can't believe that I have had to go through so much crap just to get money and I won't be able to even get any money till tomorrow wow this has been the worst and all they can say is sorry that doesn't pay my bills on tine and it won't cover the late feed or the time that I spent on the phone trying to get help this is unacceptable I'm the one paying in the end.
locking my debit card after doing what I was told to
I have messed with these people for four days now. They said they needed an originally recipet from the merchant to give me my refund. Now I faxed them the original recipet. They said it would take 6-8 business hours so I called back yesterday Friday and spoke with a lady who said my card would be unlocked at 2pm and, it wasn't. Now get are telling me that the merchant has to reverse the refund which they can't BC my card is locked. My money is in there but you can't do anything krbthet hang up. I'm fed up andni have two little ones and I can't get my money off the card. Do these people know that taking money is called theft in our country? Guess not. This is very agrevatung and I have sent a letter to the Texas state senetor about this issue. Y'all people do not deserve to be in business it's amazing you still are BC I do not see how
unauthorized charges
Late January while checking my NetSpend account I noticed a charge I had not made. I immediately notified customer service of the charge and to cancel the card as I had evidently lost it. They said the charge was still in pending status and would stop the charge from completing. A few days later I checked again and the charge had gone through. When I called customer service again they said I would have to file a dispute which I did. They credited my account "temp" while investigating. Today I get a notice stating the investigation will result in re debiting my account for that amount as the "merchant validated the charge" WTF? Of course the merchant did. All they know is that it was from a valid card at the time. Not too happy with NetSpend...

Hey so I got a netspend card for my irs refund. I forgot to actived the card. The irs said the refund was going to be in my card on 2-18-16. But I called on 2-20-16 they told me that the money was there on 2-12-16. And they returned my refund back to the irs 02-18-16. And it takes 7 business days for the irs to get it back and the irs will send me a check does anybody know how long will it take for me to get it in the mail... Please help

First off I filed my taxes with turbo tax and just decided to get a netspend card with my taxes loaded onto it. The card was suppose to be received within 7-10 business days... I never received that card and it took me over an hour and 3 reps to tell them I never received the card... One of them kept repeating that the card would "be there today" she couldn't comprehend that it didn't arrive. Then I asked if I could have a card expedited to me and she was telling me that it would cost $25 for a card to come 1-2 business days. To my surprise the card was not there after the 2nd business day. I called and a rep told me that it was coming with ups... I then asked for a tracking number and he said that he didn't have that. I then explained if he had enough information that the card was being shipped with ups then he should have a tracking number. After him telling me that I got frustrated and called my local ups and they told me they had nothing with my address in their system. So I called again immediately asking for a supervisor and the rep made me tell him the manner of my call before transferring my call... I explained and he told my my "expedited card" hasn't even been shipped because it takes 2-3 business days to process my request and then 1-2 business days to then ship it. Of course that's when I lost it. I said now I will not receive my card until next week? Because today is a friday. So I paid $30 for standard shipping. Netspend shouldn't even be in business. Their reps barely speak english and every single one say something completely different. They are an absolute joke. I am still on hold for 31 minutes to get someone on the phone and still holding! Ridiculous! Do not do nottttttttttttt deal with them at all!

I wasn't able to activate my card unless I send my info . it is anything but easy to deal with the people who try to answer your call. I demanded a supervisor to everyone I spoke to and held 18 min called back demand supervisor held 13 min. I called at least 10 times And demanded a super isor because the first 3 people couldn't understand enough English it is rediculas it took almost two hours to talk to a supervisor. To be told to wait . almost 3 weeks now to get a check they mailed to wrong address. Seems they would cover 40$ and wait for their own damn sht to arrive but no. If 40$ is not enough to save your reputation its not anyone I want to do business with I DO NOT RECOMED

I have been a faithful netspend customer since 2010. I have never had any problems with your company. My account is on hold and it has to do with a credit on books for school. The original payment method was financial aid on my student account. However, since student account financial aid has been terminated for the semester the bookstore asked me for credit card to put my credit on. I had no idea what this would cause. My balance is 1000. The refund is only 220. I need to have access to the 780 that had nothing to do with this transaction. I have done everything netspend has asked. The bookstore cannot reverse the charge. They talked to merchant services and cannot reverse it. It has already posted. I do not want to bring a lawyer into this but the fact remains that you are holding money that has nothing to do with the transaction. I need to pay bills, food and gas and cannot do this until you release the hold. I would be willing to close the account if I can get the money back. Some kind of resolution needs to be made.

Same happened to me on 1/07/2016.Net spend approved a p2p phone transfer to someone I don't know and have never had a link to their account. This apparently took place over the phone after this person had reported that my car was broken into and my wallet was stolen which never happened. She then transferred 630.00 out of my account into hers just like that. Her name is shanquetia lanquest (Doubt that's her real name) this all happened after there was a fraudulent charge to macy's.com on 12/28/2015. On both occasions I contacted netspend within 15 minutes and they said there was nothing they could do to stop it. It seems all of their security measures go against the actual customer of the account and nothing against these people who pray on the lack of security to steal our hard earned money. I have had no resolution on this matter as of today and they seem to be in no hurry to rectify this theft.

I simply purchased a netspend card to be able to purchase time over a phone for my husband to reach me from jail and it's been a ridiculous headache. First it takes forever to even get information through to these foreign (so called) customer service reps that no one can understand...let alone they can't understand you speaking perfect English yet having to repeat each thing several times. They are no help. I have tried sending these scarily intrusive documents and I hit a brick wall each time. I am almost thankful they haven't gone through because I am already worried about fraud based on my experience already and seeing the rest of these similar complaints and worse. VISA needs to fire this company because its going to get them in trouble. I can't get to my money and I am pissed. What next? Should everyone screwed get together and sue or what? VISA is my next contact. Its all bull. Don't go through NETSPEND ever!

I purchased 2 cards from my local cvs as gifts and did not activate them until a year later at which time they would not activate. I called and was told that all i needed to do was get a new card issued in my name and the balance would be transferred over, no problem. When i called to activate the new card and transfer the balance i was told that they had taken the full balance away from both cards as fees as i had not activated them...This is stealing how do you charge fees for an unused card plus tell a customer that as long as they get a new card they will get the balance transferred? I am requesting they credit my new card for the amount that i purchased the original cards for, $100.00

fraudulent transfer
Yesterday, I was the victim of a fraudulent transaction of 1500.00. It was a person to person transfer that was conducted by netspend customer service. I called and spoke to the fraud alert department, who had me go through filing a dispute by sending emails to their dispute department. They cancelled my cards on my account, and told me my account was "frozen" until they performed an investigation that would take at least 10 business days. I get another anytime alert today on my cell phone that another 1000 dollars has been transferred by a netspend customer service agent to the same person that I reported the day previously. I, however, cannot get them to transfer my money to any other place because of the hold on the account. So basically they are forcing me to watch as my account is slowly drained by them to someone else while not letting me touch any of it.

biggest joke legalized theft scam company ever saw on dec. 3rd used my netspend visa at a local atm of a local bank (visa should be ashamed to have there name on this scam)this is where I usally draw my funds from this card is my sole paycard for my job on this morning atm did not dispence my cash 300.00 gave me a receipt said thank you have nice day but door never open to give me my cash promptly call bank no answer so went to main bank and waited to open was informed they don't count own machine but was courious and helpful told me to contact netspend and file a dispute they should be able to offer provisional credit until all could be verified listened and followed there instructions as asked even had a three way call with netspend the bank owning the atm and my self this on the eigth dec the local bank telling them that they were sure I received no funds and were going to chargeback the transaction so I could be credited my funds and they would chargeback that same day wonderfull net spend this not acceptable said I had to wait up to 45 days for them to investigate but if and only if I wrote them or emailed them a request for provisional credit they could give that to me pending there investigation I did this 3 times fist on dec 4th 2nd and 3rd times on dec 7th and 8th well they just keep put me off say will be up date on 17th well on 17th say no provisional cause not send them request in timely manner so email them copies of emails I sent showing sent and received dates no change said no more update till jan 15 this is my money and why should they be allowed to use my money for 45 days by now they have to have control of this transaction 27 days old how can I sue this crooked axx company
the whole service is a scam
They blocked my account than lied said someone called and claimed they found my card on a bathroom floor, this same card was locked in a safe at my residence. When I told the person I was physically holding the card in my hand right as I was speaking with her, she told me I was lying and hung up on me. The kept over 1100 dollars for over 5 months even after I verified dozens of times my identity and literally had to call the police have the officer give his name, and badge number to a customer service rep trying to verify my identity and they still kept my money only retiring 800 dollars. I have been a customer with netspend for over 5 years with have had so many issues over the years. This incident I am speaking of was the final straw and I will never use netspend again. There was some disputes on the account regarding debit transaction on my account. All 8 of my netspend cards were blocked and I was no longer able to login to the website online. I called customer service to see why this was happening and they stated risk management was the department which placed the block/closed my accounts. I told them that I had a deposit that would be coming into the account and since the account was closed would this direct deposit be sent back to my employer and the supervisor stated yes. The supervisior also stated I would be receiving a call from corporate but my direct deposit would pend for 3 days on the front end of my account but it would not be posted. I never received the call from corporate. The next morning I received an alert that my account had a balance of $1000.00. How did a direct go into a closed account? I immediately called netspend and they stated the it was already pending before the account was closed therefore it was posted to the account. I asked what options I have not that my money has been posted to my account and I do not have any debit cards or ways to access my funds. The stated a check would be mailed within 10 business days. I asked if there was any way to have the check expedited since tomorrow is thanksgiving and I would like to have my money before thanksgiving. I was told that this was the only option available to me. Today is 11/25/15 and since tomorrow is a holiday they stated that I should recieve my refund check no later than 12/10/15. Netspend has the worst customer I have ever encounter. I have had several incidents with them in the past but never to this degree. I will never recommend anyone to keep more than $100.00 on this card because if the close your account you will not have access to your for for 10-20 business days.

On July 31st I called because there was a unknown charge on my account. The rep did not complete the dispute process. So I went online and completed the process myself. I still don't have my money back and I have been waiting on a call back since August 11th from a supervisor and the dispute department. I have actually been on the phone with three differebt representatives for the past 40 minutes every time I ask to speak with a supervisor I am put on hold then sent back to the automated system. If my dispute is not resolved with this phone call my next call will be to the Ohio Attorney General.
