Using RAK Platinum cash back card since 12+ years - Finally Closed today.
Waste of arguing with customer care, hopeless policy.
Unable to claim AED 1 Cash back despite spending more than AED 50000 in less than 15 months.
Bank keeps on deducting the earned cashback as expirry to Avoid giving cash back.
Hopeless card All benifits for the RAK Bank, Customer gets 0 cashback.
Should change the card to 0 cash back...

Good day.
My account was blocked after my wife called the bank for me while we were driving I was driving.
We were both in the car right next to each other.
On the "3rd party rule" the call centre agent blocked my account.
I spoke to him immediately after and he confirmed I am who I say I am but still, account blocked and nothing he can do?
My main problem is not the account blocking as that is their policy, but, how to get the account unblocked? I have phoned the bank multiple times, I have visited bank branch, they say I need to wait for them to contact me? There is absolutely no way of contacting this unblocking department. Literally no way of accessing any of MY money! Just left in the dark indefinalty until they decide to contact me? It's already been more than 24H and no contact from the bank, not an email, not an SMS.. just nothing.

End of service benefit on hold
I resigned from my previous company for 6yrs they release my EOSB to rakbank since I have personal loan with the bank they hold the money until I find new job. I found a job and I went to the bank asked for the details and procedures that I have to do. I submitted all the documents as per their request and they told me my eosb will be release within 3 to 5 days after 2weeks of waiting I went back to the bank branch in maktoum saying they will release it the same day or the next day. I waited but the following day the representative called me and informed me that their management decided to use the money for partial payment for my loan. I was shocked because after giving them the requirements and receiving my salary from new company on the same account they decided just to keep it the customer service rep told me to just talk to the manager because this is the only reason they told her! I never signed an agreement with rakbank that they can use my eosb for partial payment for my loan. I am consistent in paying my EMI and I am still paying until now so why they have to tale the money which im supposed to received after all the processes. And even their CSR when I asked them are very sure that they will release it just need the requirements. If they will not give me my money I have to go to police and I would do that so they cannot do it to someone else!

I'm Rak Bank account holder. I have loan as well. I got termination from my previous company.
They released my 11 years EOSB to rak bank. They hold it till now, I found new job and went to the bank asked procedure that i have to do. I submitted all the documents as per their requested. After that they said will release my EOSB in next few working days.
Today I received called from representative sheikh Zayed road, branch Dubai, That their management decided and as per rules bank use the money for partial payment for loan.
I really shocked. after bank receiving my salary from the company on the same account they decided not to release. when i ask representative, she said my salary bit less than previous employee. That is the reason. my question is bank starting to deduct my EMI also, and hold my EOSB also. My current salary more than enough to pay EMI. and bank will give loan for my current salary range as well. I cant understand what is the issue for the bank if i pay my installment why they cant release my EOSB. Its my money. i hope some one from the bank will be answer for me as soon as possible. and solve this issue. If they not giving my money i have to go police and labor court for my issue.

apologies for not responded, as I'm just out from quarantine due to covid, inline with my comments, please note I'm not complaining, I'm asking a request, I have the EOSB bank hold it, and after I submitted the documents required bank deducted everything nothing left, stating this amount deducted in your account a portion for you amal loan, with out explaining same monthly EMI same length of payment mode, I really don't know what is your procedure or how you computed this loan, last time I check after deducting everything my current balance in my loan is about 91k the next time I check it become 92k and now 93k, its seem you are not giving me a chance to get out of this loan, and now I my salary come you already hold the monthly EMI for the month of July, and deducted also the salary advance that as far as I know you have deducted last march, could you please check and also please be a human I'm working not only for my self I have family back home that need to sustained their needs, its seems that you were looking me as I'm running for my obligation I know I have loan with you and as you can see I submitted all required everything same thing with my salary will be credited in your bank monthly. please I'm begging you kindly consider my request to return the money that you deducted as a portion of my loan. please thanks you hope for your kind consideration.

I’m positive to COVID 19 and asking me to go and pay the Credit card
I missed one payment of 300 DHs due to issue on online banking from my bank and As a RAK also they don't have any online payment if you do not have account with them
They made my life hell,
I explain Hamdan from RAK who's keep sending me message in what's app that I'm tested positive to COVID can't leave the home
He told me is not my problem we will proceed your file to the further department to opens the case against you ( all record is available )
And requested him send some one from behind the door of my home to collect the cash ( record available )
He said we don't have you arrange it by yourself and I told him I have no one but the cash money is available
He said is up to you go out from home and pay .
I'm gonna open the case in police and DHA for the such kind of people who make the life of so many people on risk .

Online services and credit card services
Rak bank is the worst bank in terms of their operational department. They are so backward in their process that one feels just to say bad words and rate them negative if possible. I have trying to get online access and even the relationship managers have tried it for me but since I am outside UAE they want me to physically be there and then get the services.
Moreover if you don't use your cash point they will automatically cancel them with out the notice.
They will charge you a ridiculous amount of interest and other charges if you are late in your card payment although there is no email etc. on payment.
In simple pls don't bank with Rakbank otherwise they are the biggest looooooters in UAE.
I only bank with them because of a friend that works their and he has done many favors.

Poor Customer Service
I went to Ibn Battuta Branch Last Feb 21 2021 to ask for a guidance regarding the activation of my New Debit Card since, this was block.I ask them if they can unblock my account.The agent told me they will ask there back office to send them a letter, for me to sign and after 2-3 days they will call me to comeback in the branch, but until now no one calls me..its almost 2 weeks now and nothing happens about my concern. Everyday, I follow up customer service but same thing they said.They will send email to ibn branch ..

On returning back from India after a long break due to lock down (5 months) I was shocked to see my e-statement with Dh.750/- plus vat as annual charges for not using my card. For 20 years I had been banking with Rakbank. I was always given the impression of a free for Life card. They never informed me of my card being upgraded with fees attached to it.. I was not aware of this kind of ridiculous charges which is a big surprise and a shock!. On approaching the branch I was advised to call the phone banking which I did. They asked me to provide travel documents PP copies tkt showing in and out immigration stamp which I did. Its been two weeks and for the 5th time I provided the required documents. Today I received the rejection by SMS.There is no more free for life credit card. Sadly I have to cancel my credit card with them and am in the process of closing my account. I cannot trust this bank any more. A very disappointing Customer service. Care should be taken while dealing with them.

I have tried to get my credit card closed for over 10 months. I paid agreed settlement amount and it is now reflecting but the account has still not been closed.

Insurance was not Informed and got deducted without any message

I never used a credit card from RAK ever so far, and got to know that the deduction is because of the Insurance. The LIVE Chat team informed me that the bank wouldn't inform the customer about such deductions as this is by default and there's no message which a customer will get on deductions.
Firstly, this is very weird, as you are deducting money from the customer without even informing them or even sending a message.
Secondly, the person who came to sell the credit card, informed me that there won't be any deductions on anything and NEVER INFORMED ANYTHING RELATED TO INSURANCE and was in such a hurry asking me to sign the paper and he will fill up everything by himself and now not answering the calls nor responding to my messages...
Thirdly, my card was activated on Dec 26, which means I completed almost 1.5 months with the card, the live chat team said the charges were AED 15 + 5% VAT per month which will sum up to AED 30 + VAT, and nowhere it will reach to AED 295.76
I was never informed about any deductions, any insurance, or related terms when I signed the application. The person filled the form by himself as he was in a hurry and informed me that there won't be any deductions on anything.
We customers trust your processes and bank procedures, and the way you sell the product is very misleading and the way you chat and explain is very unprofessional and something not expected from RAK.
Kindly, assist me with this query asap, please.

Credit Card payment
I have been trying to get in touch with RAKBANK collections department and been writing mails to them however no one ever replies back. I was on a unpaid leave due to covid 19 however I have always continued paying their minimum amount, irrespective of that, they always add some charges and get my card over limit. Now I have been calling their call center and they said that I cannot contact the collections department unless I'm a defaulter! This is madness, this is the worst bank ever, with 0 customer accomodation. I have intentions to pay the whole amount, however due to my current financial situation, I need to convert it to installments, that's all. I do not wish to abscond or be a defaulter of any kinds. Now the call center asked me to go to their collections office for a solution. A place where 500 people are coming and going everyday. Who takes the guarantee that I wouldn't contract the virus from their? Why should I put myself at risk when even my workplace is making me work remotely? Please help me🙏🏻

Platinum credit card and personal loan with rak bank.
I lost my job during 2008 global financial crises. I paid off credit card and closed credit card at muteena branch near to deira clock tower, she didn't return my security cheque or gave me letter for credit card closed.
In may 2008, rak bank collection department contacted me to pay personal loan outstanding aed29, 130 otherwise they will submit my cheque to police. I really got scared, I told him that i'm honest and paid credit card and closed it and he said yes credit card is paid in full so only peronal loan outstanding balance left. I argued that i'm looking for job and soon I will pay personal loan too. But he call again in again every day non-stop and shout at me that police will put me in jail for life. I was really scared so instead of finding a new job I went to purchase air ticket and left uae in may 2008.
Rak bank filed police report in 2009 followed by court judgement in 2013.
Rak bank demands aed80, 000 (40, 000 for personal loan and 40, 000 for credit card). I demanded credit card statement so they say its old not possible. I paid in full and credit card closed then why they are demanding credit card payment? Could you please sort out this problem so I can pay off my peronal loan debt asap. Please help me paying off my debt.

rak money transfer get the money for 2495 AED
Rak bank has taken my money without my premission. The money taken has not been refound. Asked by the bank about this, he said it was duea technical glitch. I complianed to rak bank several times. So far my problem has not been resolved. Rak bank has not considered my complaint until now. There is no suitable alternative. So I lost my mony and time.
Credit Shield benefit in my credit card not given
I applied to avail my benefit in my credit shield in my credit card and gave them my official termination letter and experience certificate as a proof. And I am not getting now a 4 months salary but still they are asking a confirmation from my HR which is against their policy to communicate external (outside adnoc) as they said as well that's why they are providing a official documents for my termination. I pay for a long time for my credit shield until now even I'm not getting anymore salary but why they are asking an impossible proof which make the ADNOC HR personnel's employment in danger. I even share to them the email between me and HR regarding my termination. Please do the needful as non employed for 4 months is very hard to survive specially now during this pandemic.
I tried many times to our HR to response email but they strongly answer that it's against to their policy and they will never put their position in danger situation. They can only provide official documents regarding my termination.
I provided already a termination letter, experience certificate and obviously they know that may salary not coming for 4 months now.

We, The Clean Home Trading Est., maintaining account with National Commercial Bank, Saudi Arabia remitted AED 128912.00 to M/s Coral Trading LLC maintaining account number AE670400000037378795061 in Dubai, the value date of the credit is 06.12.2020. The beneficiary has informed us that they have not received the remittance till now. We have also sent the swift copy of the remittance to the beneficiary which has been forwarded to your bank. The Swift reference number is [protected]. But your bank has informed the beneficiary that the amount has not been received without properly scrutinizing the swift record. We request you to look into the complaint and resolve the issue immediately by crediting the amount in the beneficiary's account.

Personal loan collection department
I lost my job in 2008's financial crises and was unable to settle personal loan without a job. Rak bank received final gratuity aed 43, 600 and mr. Mohd from Rak Bak collection department started calling harassing me for a police case for amount aed 75,000 including extra charges. He said my bank account is frozen and they can't touch gratuity amount unless I clear complete loan. And without job I couldn't pay and he harassed me for police case that I will rot in jail, forced me to leave the country without paying off this small amount. So I did and he filed police complaint in 2009, he should have behave well and dubai police/dubai government should stop this harassment practice in dubai uae..

Credit card
I am writing to inform you that I'm unable to pay the Annual Fees for the credit card 5196*6006 which was credited for the year 2020-21.
I have cleared my payments towards this card and have no outstanding from my end.
I have stated to the call centre that Ive lost my job and don't intend to keep this card, so request for the card cancellation in October. On hearing this, the customer care immediately blocked the card.
I earlier contacted the RAK Customer care in April 2020 for the change of my number from corporate to personal GSM and to even cancel my credit card.
They failed to do so. Later they refused to take any actions as I was contacting them from my other personal numbers.
I've been out of job since March and every penny matters. My financial situation is not good with limited resources with mounting expenses here and India too
The customer care told me to go to the RAK Bank, which I visited and explained the situation with all the necessary documents. At the bank they assured me that this will be resolved and waive off the outstandings.
But I got another statement for the Annual Charges.
During this pandemic everyone is helping each other so I request RAK Bank to sort this as I do not have a job now and unnecessarily becoming bad due to this annual membership charges.
Due to this my credit history is gone bad now and has spoiled my banking status.
RAK bank has the card blocked and wants me to pay for the blocked credit card.
I have been using the credit card for my personal use and never defaulted or delayed my payments.

Collection and legal team
I took a personal loan from RAK bank in town 2017 and paid the installment without any delay up to july 2020. In between I had top up the amount in january 2020. I went for unpaid leave in july 2020 and so I was not able to pay the installment of august september and october month. I requested them to give me time until december to pay but they didn't agree. Then they give me time until 28th october to pay minimum 3000aed and to sign the defferal form for next 2 months to move legally. I borrowed 3000aed from my friend and I paid 3000aed on 28th of october. Also signed the deferral form and send back to them. They told me that deferral is approved. Also I send the receipt of the payment done. After that on november 1st I received a message from dubai police that there is a case registered in my emirates ID. When I checked in police station bank has filed the cheque bounce case again after doing the minimum payment as they told me. They are cheating the customers blindly. Now when I asked them about this they are saying that before payment their legal team filed the case. Now they want me to provide a new cheque and sign on some other documents to release the case. I am totally fed up with the behaviour of RAK bank team. Please never use any products of RAK bank.
