Received a letter from Pepsi Co., co sponsorship with Readers Digest located in Plano Texas stating my wife has won the grand prize of one million dollars. Inside is a check for $5400.00 to cover any outstanding fees that have not been paid by Pepsi Co. directly. Before she is to cash this check, she is supposed to contact a Mr. Ron Pittsfield, a representative, phone No. [protected] ext. #1. with the prize claim #. This check is a citibank check, drawn from Strategic Focus Cities in New York city, New York. This enveloped my wife received appears to have come from Canada. I thought I should pass this on and make your Company aware!

Sincerely Armando Romo

They send a card with your first magazine to claim a free gift. Go thru to claim it. Yeah, right free gift. As long as you enroll in their book club. Every three to four months pay $20.00 bucks. Even if it is without obligation. Who wants to take the time to cancel an unwanted book club? I've got better things to do. I don't even want the "free" book.

I received a bill for a subscription that to my knowledge I never ordered. I looked over the bill very carefully and I find that it is very convenient that there is no contact phone number. So I sent in a check for payment of this bill and I'm still receiveing Reminder notices for keep in mind this is a subscription that I don't recall asking for. I do not order magazines as a rule I make any of my purchases only when I want them from a local store.

I have just recieved a bill from Readers Digest asking if I overlooked paying my bill for "The Christmas List" that I suppossedly ordered and it was suppossedly sent to me on 11/10. I have never ordered anything from Readers Digest. I have recieved Readers Digest as a gift from someone 2 years ago! Nothing since. I haven't recieved this book, and I would not order anything as expensive as this book. I am on SS. I have no money to buy this book. I too looked for a phone number to call & straighten this out, but no phone number. I will also write a letter to them & complain. Thanks, Carol Lee- Kewanee, Ill.

My name is Sylvie and I work for Reader's Digest in Customer Care.

If you are trying to find the link through a search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc.), it is possible that you will not be able to access the website to enter the contest. Some of our contests are "by invitation only" and also cannot be found through our main website.

To access the URL provided on the card you received, you must type it in the address bar of your web browser.

You may also click "File" then "Open" in your web browser (for example, Internet Explorer) and type the address in the space provided. Be sure to type the address in lower case as upper case may not work.

If you are using Web TV or AOL, you may be unable to access the website.

I hope this will be of help to you and I wish you the best of luck.

If you have any questions, you can view our FAQs at www.rd.ca/contact.

It seems unlikely that Readers Digest would mess up like this as they have always had a very professional media system. Therefor, one must assume this contest is not genuine, even someone has gone to some large expense in printing and arranging distribution through bonefide companies. READER'S DIGEST NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE!

I tried to access the website
Apparently website does not exists and how can you enter to win a new Ipod after the RD give you a personal access code and there is no website to get into.
This is one of the many scams of Readers Digest they make you believe you are going to win and when you want to register or find out no such possibility is available. The only thing they want you to do is subscribe to another magazine or bookscam
Lousy company

In my attempt to log into your given website-( www.rd.ca/ssvault)
the site appeared but there was no opportunity given to enter the
combination No. given on the Free Entry slip . Instead - a request to send in a complaint.. which is what you are reading!

This is about the 3rd or 4th time I have found the same result.. which I find to be very negative publicity. Is that your aim?

I agree totally, My wife asked me to enter her in the contest for the GPS's as well. I was unable to find it anywhere. Her and her Mother have subscribed to Readers Digest for at least 25 years. The contest is a fraud and Readers Digest should award anyone with a winning code a GPS system as far as I am concerned.

Anyone else out there as disappointed as I am in the so called Reader's Digest : "Win 1 of 3 Sony GPS Devices"? I've been receiving this magazine for more years than I can count and I do enjoy reading them, obviously or I wouldn't receive them anymore. But this is the second time this contest has had no web site to enter. Also with this issue I received a letter stating that "We've earned Canada's "most trusted" magazine reputation". Well, I think that reputation is about to take a nose dive. Come on guys! If you're going to put the junk mail in with your magazine, then at least make sure it's not a scam. I can go online if I want that.
