Missed 3 pick ups in a month
I am writing this for Republic Services, a waste removal company.
I recently moved into a new home and out of the three months I
have lived there, Republic Services have only picked up my
recycling twice. The garbage and recycling go out on the same
day, the garbage gets picked up and the recycling never gets
picked up. I have to call them every time this happens for them to
come back and get it and they never have an answer as to why it
was missed in the first place. To add to it, their office hours end at
5pm so when I get home from work and see that the recycling has not been picked up, there's nothing I can do about it until the next day when I can find time to call them. When I do call, I am put on hold for no less than ten minuets before getting someone who can never give me an answer as to why the pick up was missed. They will usually send a truck to pick up my recycling but at that point its two days late. Their incompetence is astonishing, I find it laughable that the word Services is in their name when that's the least thing they provide. Something needs to be done because I know I am not the only one with this issue.
Undisclosed charges for trash pickup
I called in May 2021 to ask the charges for trash pickup. Was told by "Quiana" that the charge would be $80.84 per quarter + $12 for recycling. Based on her representations, I began service with them in June.
To my disgust, the actual bills I received have been much, much higher including undisclosed monthly "Administrative Fee" of $5.95 and "Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee" ranging from $22.06 up to $27.34. To add insult to injury, the monthly trash collection fees are $57, which is $171 per quarter, NOT the $92.84 I was told initially.
They also charged undisclosed "container delivery" fees of $36.50 x 2 = $73 total.
This company is a complete ripoff. I would never have started service with them had I known they were lying about what they charge. I'm going to try to go back to my old trash company ASAP and cancel with this disgusting scam outfit.
Desired outcome: Refund undisclosed charges of $73 for container delivery, and all other charges other than the $92.84 per quarter I was told I would be charged.
We are experiencing the SAME unfair billiing from Republic. We were quoted $150 per quarter and the very first invoice was over $400! We have been billed over $1100 for 2 quarters! They are a JOKE. Complete scam of a company!
Billing, lien charges.
When the pandemic began, becoming unemployed, and having many many years of service. I received a bill, noting that several liens and fines and fees totaling several hundreds of dollars . I called, was told yeppers, you misses two payment cycles and we filed several liens against your property. The principle amount less then a 100.00. There were two 250.00 charges regarding liens. I said surly there is a mistake, she said nope will you pay it now?. I said nope too . I have asked for detail charges on the fees, nothing..no cooperation at all. I would like to resolve this matter for a legal, and reasonable amount. They are the only service choice in the city.
Desired outcome: Someone to review the fees as to be legal, and provide a invoice showing the charges not just the full amount.
Lack of Customer Service & Communication
Lynnwood, WA - August 2021
Republic Services cancelled our rubbish pick up with no notice & attempted to extort us into paying the next bill in advance before reinstating our service. We are signed up for paper billing, but received no bill in the mail. We received no notification by mail or otherwise that our payment was late; the first & only indication we received was a piece of paper shoved in our rubbish bin stating that our service had been 'interrupted'. If that paper had blown away, we would have had no indication at all.
We logged into our online account immediately, paid the balance & requested our service be reinstated. After over an hour on the phone with customer service, the extortion demand & 3 different reps, we were finally able to speak with a manager who reinstated our service without a pre-payment. Shout out to supervisor Matthew for being both understanding & competent!
Desired outcome: Our desired resolution is timely paper statements so we can pay them in a timely manner. Barring that, notification by mail (not via random paper in our rubbish bin) that our payment is overdue so we can rectify it.
Waste removal
Young boy driving truck number 2296 in nw indiana, Saint John, was yelling profanities across my yard while my wife was outside. Normally I'd file a regular complaint, I just want you guys to send him back so I can beat his [censored]. Politely ask the driver of truck 2296 to eat a big breakfast next Sunday. I'll be waiting outside for him. Please and thank you.

Republic Sanitation in Clayton County
James and Sandra Adams on July 29th Thursday 2021 notice the Republic Sanitation picked up Trash in our community upon arrival they left with our Trash Bin and did not return our disposal we have no idea why we contacted this service also email them with no success

Trash can stolen by RS
This company just took a cart that I purchased from my previous trash company and threw it away in their trash truck. They told me that they bought out the previous company and it was their property, although I had purchased it from previous company. They refuse to prove I purchased it and took it from us, threw it away in their trash truck, and will not replace my property. They said it is normal for them to pick up and throw away old trash cans that their driver sees. I have never seen this happen, they would typically send a truck out to pick up the carts, not dump them in a trash truck. The "little" guy getting bashed by a multi million dollar company, yet again!
Desired outcome: My property back!
Unordered can removal
The first week of july, we came home after a weekend away to find an extra recycle can was left on our driveway. I called to get it removed, and was told it would happen july 13th. That day came and went, and after a week, I called and was assured it would be removed july 27th. Its still here. I called republic and a customer service rep told me it was scheduled for the 27th. I think she was just telling me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone. I didn't order this thing, and want it taken away!
Desired outcome: Remove this unwanted, unordered can TOMORROW

While riding my motorcycle on Rogers Hwy., just outside of Tecumseh, MI today, Monday 7/26/21 at approximately 11:45 a.m., I came upon a Republic Services truck traveling in the same direction. I have no windshield on my motorcycle and was sprayed with very foul smelling liquid waste from the Republic Services truck, along with pieces of solid waste that hit me and littered the roadway every time the truck hit a bump in the road (this was a bumpy rural road!). I was sprayed with liquid waste, filth, and pieces of solid waste for a nearly a mile while following this Republic truck, until I could safely pass. The liquid waste covered my bare face, my clothing, and was so thick that it completely covered by riding eyeglasses, requiring me to pull off the road and clean them before I continued. The liquid waste blew into my eyes, causing burning, blurring, and painful irritation. I immediately turned around and went back to my home, where I washed my eyes out, my face, that was coated with this liquid filth, and potentially chemical based hazardous waste, and got very sick and vomited. I put all of my clothing immediately in the washing machine, and got into the shower to wash this hazardous filth off of my face and my body. Commercial operators who pick up commercial and residential trash are not allowed by Michigan law to allow the contents of their truck to deposit their filth where it hits or falls into the path of other vehicles on Michigan roads. This was and is a PUBLIC NUISANCE in violation of section 324.8903 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act. I am sick and very disgusted with my experience this morning on my neighborhood road and with Republic Services. I may need to seek treatment with my private doctor or my local hospital. Replacement of stolen garbage cans 16 gallon trash, 30 gallon recyclable
- My garbage cans were stolen between July 15th and July 16th, 2021
- I contacted your office on Monday July 19 2021 at [protected]. After an almost one hour wait time a lady, Vanetta, answered the phone. I told her the problem and was informed I needed to file a theft report which I did with promptly with Benton County sheriff file #[protected].
- Due to the tremedous wait time I went into your local office gave them the information and BCSO complaint number and they said they would get two cans to me that day thus was on the same day Monday July 19, 2021
- It is now 5:19 pm on Tuesday July 20, 2021 the garbage cans have not been delivered.
Desired outcome: DELIVER GARBAGE CANS 15 GALLON TRASH AND 30 GALLON RECYLABLE .
Poor service and long long long wait time on phone
I called and asked republic's services what did I need to pay so they can put service back on thy told me, and I I paid that amount. It was paid July 12. They still haven't picked up the trash that is over flowing and other businesses are piling trash. I also been on the phone 30 plus minutes now and still waiting . Every time I call it takes them for ever. I know a lot of them are working from home. I can here the background every time. To me it's like they will pick up until they feel like it

My city (Alhambra, CA) now requires us to deal with Republic directly for payment and all questions/issues and I am currently on hold on the phone with them for 1.5 hours on a Wednesday afternoon (typically the best time to call a company). What a waste of time - who knows if anyone will ever pickup! All I need is a simple bulk pick up for 1 item and website/chat is useless for that. This is what happens when a company knows the customer has no choice to go elsewhere. While waiting on hold, am just adding my review about their 'service' to as many websites as possible!

Missed pick up
We were scheduled for pickup the Tuesday after the 4th of July holiday. On that Tuesday, the Republic driver drove past our dumpster which was put out the night before! He picked up EVERY other dumpster on our road except ours . The Republic lettering & logo are VISIBLY on the dumpster so there is no way he would not have recognized it! In fact, had it been any closer to the road, he would have HIT IT! Now I am told after two days of calling Republic that I cannot get picked up until Friday! UNACCEPTABLE! Besides that, I have the option to cancel the pickup or get an adjustment on my bill. Great choice! We have been with Republic for the 17 years we have lived here. What the hell is going on with this company?

Garbage collection
Having lived in multiple states with 40 years of garbage collection, I've never had poorer service. Republic is the worst. Every few months they don't pick up my trash. You call and are promised you're on the schedule for the next day. No pick up. You call next day and are promised again. No pick up. You call and are told a supervisor will call you. No call. You call and wait to speak to supervisor. You're promised next day service. Your garbage is piling in the garage. No pick up. By then it's the next week's pick up. They tell you to put the extra trash next to the can. They empty can and leave extra trash accumulated because they skipped a week. They don't reimburse you or make up for it. Never an apology. Absolute useless company. If you have a choice, which I do not, don't use them.

Schedule Pick Up Never Happens
Our neighborhood trash pick up is on Wednesday's and they come whenever they want. We all put in missed pick up on the website and nothing ever happens. We have a high population of bears and Wednesday morning there are barrels knocked over because they didn't come. We leave the barrel out Thursday morning hoping they'll come and no show but barrels tipped over from the bears. They don't answer the phones and no action taken. So far this year they have skipped one week every month but the bills stay the same. If you have another option go with it as Republic Services is a waste of money and time.

Residential Trash Pickup
Our trash was last collected June 4. It is now June 22. Republic has promised to collect the trash every day since June 4. They also promised to call if there were any problems. They have never called, even though we report a missed pickup every day. We are now trying to cancel and have been on hold for over 45 minutes. One customer service rep actually told me they don't have sufficient drivers. Just horrible service. Avoid these people at all cost.
Residential blue garbage cart
Our garbage cart was damaged by pick-up in April 2021 with a crack going completely across the top. I phoned Republic to get a replacement for the damaged cart and on May 14th the cart was replaced by a FILTHY cart that wasn't closing properly on the left front lid. I again phoned Republic to get this cart replaced BUT on May 28th at 9:15 AM they fixed the lid and took a picture of it. After 2 phone calls totaling 50 minutes I spoke with a Supervisor at Republic and she phoned me back to say the cart would not be replaced and if so it could be in worse shape then the one I now have. Also, I was told for $60 I could get a new replacement. WHAT A WAY TO DO BUSINESS.

Service - Yard Waste Pickup in Genesee County
The Coachlight Pines Subdivision in Fenton Township has not had the yard trash picked up in 3 weeks now. Since the picked scheduled pick up the first week of April they have picked up the trash only twice and then only after being called by numerous customers. We have all called the City offices and would like to know why we are being expected to pay for a seervice that is not being rendered. Maybe you could start at the South side of the County every other week so we get the same service as the North end of the County.
This problem did not exist until you changed the scheduled pickup to Fridays from our regular day of tusday for the past decade.
