customer service, racial issue
I went to the Romans in Panorama, a light complexion African lady served me. While i am still deciding on what to take. I ask her in English if the pizza goes 2x2. My bf tells her we wants something meaty in Sotho and she points out. I ask her that since I was the one initially ordering can she explain in English from which category we may pair the second pizza and she shouts at me in her language. There was no manager who came out. I feel this is rude. If they cant speak English they should not look for employment in professional places where races from all walks of life goes
2 single topping deals for r100
About 8.30 we came into the phoenix plaza brach and ordered one pineapple and one fetta cheese pizza as we are fasting and so were our visitors ...when we got home and started to serve the visitors we notice it was not pineapple but instead chicken...soon as we noticed we went and took it back to the store but they have already closed at 9...very disappointing ...
rejected my order
I placed an order with Romans Pizza Glen Marais at 20h48 tonight. Received a sms the my order has been cancelled. I was waiting for a call from the store but no response. I phoned the store abd they said that they cannot process my order as the store is already closed.
Why are my order rejected if the store only closes at 21h00.

service complaint & dissatisfaction of food taste
On the 24th August 2019 I placed an order at your Plumstead restaurant. I asked the Cashier what the waiting period will be for my order and she advised 10 minutes.
My order was placed at 15:44 with Order Number: 79
I waited 10 minutes in the restaurant and then returned to my vehicle to attend to my 2 year old toddler and sent my 18 year old daughter in to collect the order. I was liaising with my daughter via Whatsapp and by 16:10 she had still not returned to the car.
At about 16:20 I went back into the restaurant and asked the Cashier where my food was as customers that placed orders after me, had already received their food.
She (Cashier) then went to the back kitchen to follow and and politely came back telling me "They forgot to put your pizza in the oven". By this time I have had to count to 1000 as my toddler was getting restless and we were starving after spending time shopping at the Checkers across the way.
I was not even afforded the opportunity to ask for a refund as the Cashier just kept herself busy and avoided making eye contact.
Eventually my order was received, got into the car took a bite and that was another disappointment as this was the most tasteless Bacon pizza we've ever tasted.
I decided that I am not going to bother wasting anymore time in the store but rather log a complaint directly with Customer Services.

barbeque chicken and triple cheese
Good day. I have a complaint about pizza we bought at your Glengarry store. I bought a barbeque chicken and a triple cheese. The chicken one tasted off. It was awful and the triple cheesewas terrible. Whoever made it put so much tomato paste on that you couldn't taste anything else. The pizzas made us sick that evening and I'm sure it was the chicken. It tasted very odd. So I complained to ur area manager Charl. I did not like how he came a cross. Asking if I took pics of the pizza. How from a Pic can u see if the pizza is off. It's the last thing anyone thinks of is to take pics of your pizza when everyone is dishing up. But besides that he said bring back the pizza and he will replace the order. No apology, nothing. His attitude stinks. I just said it's OK as the pizza made me sick I don't want more pizza. And he did not even bother replying. If that's the attitude, then IL never step into another Roman's pizza again. I'm just letting u know of my experience, but I don't want Charl to contact me about this as I have nothing to say to him. Thank you Marijke
chicken and meat lasagne recipe
We ordered the usual 1 Chicken and 1 meat lasagne expecting the usual franchise lasagne we ate before and enjoyed alot.
When we started to eat both of the lasagnes was Indian Curry Chicken and Curry Meat.
No where on the menu it is stated that the lasagne is made with Curry. We dont like curried food and will not order it like that. Romans Pizza Never had curried lasagnes on their menus in all the years we ordered food there.
How can a franchise owner change the franchise recipes to suit his personal likes? You cannot buy a franchise and sell food with your own recipies. As far as I know you HAVE to stick to the franchise recipies for that is the unique products of that franchise.
If I want curried food I will buy it from an Indian take away.
The only options there is, is between Regular and Halal..as far as I know Halal does NOT mean the food is curried..it means no pork.
I did not ask for Halal or Curry.
This is not acceptable and not what I paid for or was in the mood to eat that night.
side order of green chilli
We purchased a Special of 2x Large Pizza's for R129.90 with 2 side order of Garlic & Green Chilli. Got home & opened the chilli just to see it was full of mold .I have not reported this to their branch cos only have data & not driving almost 7 kilometers back.I dont understand why isn't there certain checks to be done before orders goes out! It worries me cos what else might be expired there .
staff
The staff at the Roman's Pizza Potchefstroom are extremely rude. They leave when the customer was about to order, they don't greet or smile at someone. They are not even helpful in guiding the customers to the correct counter to order and get annoyed when the customer is unsure of where to order.
This is unacceptable and will hinder me in supporting the Roman's Pizza branch in future.
poor quality of food
On the 10 July i placed an order for two large pizza with Romans pizza Mulbarton. I then sent my husband to collect. Firstly the bacon was cut smaller than normal. Pizza was burnt it was difficult to chew it. I then phoned them to complain and explained to the so called manager Sipho who told me he will investigate and come back. Still waiting on him. I am never supporting them ever again. Bunch of losers. Dont bother calling to apologise i will hang up

On the 02/07/2019 at 18:05 i called in to Romans Pizza Lenasia South. The cashiers names Fatima took my call, it took me almost 5-10 minutes to complete my order as she kept on making a mistake with my cell no. When i arrived to pick up my pizza and pay my card initially declined, i assume due to the network. She takes the card out and gives it back to me and says declined with an akward silence for a few seconds i asked her to pls try again. She pulls her face and trys again, it goes through and i ask her did she see it went through. She arrogantly says to me SO WHAT HAPPENED THE 1ST TIME THEN AS IF TO SAY I CANT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THIS PIZZA. I told her not to be rude and to have some respect as if it wasnt for the support off the community this branch would not be successful. I will never use Romans pizza Lenasia South for as long as that cashier Fatima is working there she is a liability to this franchise as she even had the nerve to tell me dont come back its fine. I will be sure to tell my friends and community about this lack of service and consideration given by this branch. Hi i ordered a pizza from romans ntn center lenasia. Called in to order n asked someone to pick up coz we about half hour away from there. Anyways our order was a 2 steak supreme n to our expectation we've received something that was like a steak curry pizza which was falling all over the box. It was a soggy wettish pizza that was not even a what we ordered. Unfortunately we too far to go back n complain. Il neva buy from them again. Romans should take this seriously coz its very disappointing. Ate at signet n they are 100% leka. This is what it looks like
Bloemhof branch does not have thick bases
Good day
I order sometimes, not regular, from Romans in Bloemhof and today is the 3rd time in 2 months that they don't have thick bases available. Also they are very skimpy with the toppings comparing to other branches.
I spoke to my friends here and they also say that the Bloemhof branch rarely thick bases available. I am very sure that this is not the standard of Romans in general.
Hi I would prefer that you rather take this up with the Bloemhof branch. I am not interested in vouchers or something, I just want thick bases that is all.

I stopped buying your pizza over few years ago due to bad service your staff had until last week when my daughter said she lives it and I should try it, I did and had a great value for my money, yesterday I buy it again expecting the same thin as last week, guess what...I regret ever driving all the way from Vaal to Southgate with this expensive petrol just to go dump my money in the rubbish bin, the pizzas we bought tasted very horrible, they say its barbeque sauce chicken and pineapple but the barbeque was not even on that pizza, they/you have mastered the art of manipulation that they spread it on the end of the pizza just to fool us, the pineapples I counted on the whole pizza was 13, I can't even talk about chicken it is too expensive to waste on stupid customers, it tasted like rubber that has been decorated with flowers, you need to stop disrespecting us customers, we work too hard for that money, R150 plus R200 worth of petrol is too much to waste on rubbish, talk to all your branches because in the past those were my issues and even in 2019 its still happening that you are trying to cut costs and make profit by selling us dry and Unconsumable pizza, I will take this to the highest ombudsman and competition commission because I'm tired of people taking advantage of customers giving you business.
bad service and mis - information by branch staff at the milnerton paddocks

With regard to the above mentioned complaint on the 13th of June at the Romans pizza paddocks branch I was highly disgusted at the level at which they run the branch and treat customers.I had called Jacobus Barnard the franchisee immediately after my experience who assured me he will investigate and get back to me..a week later and nothing..
I walked into a rather quiet store that afternoon with only one customer before me.she left .I then placed my order for a triple cheese special @R69.
I unfortunately don't have the invoice with me as the cashier asked for it and never returned to me.
She also mentioned on order that my order will take 15mins...i went out off the store and returned only to have waited almost 35mins more..i kept asking how much longer and I couldn't help notice the chaos and confusion at the back/kitchen/prep area..almost as if they had no idea..actually more crazy then a circus clown..note the metaphor and my disgust.
This is a store my family and I frequently use to support..utterly disappointed at the fact that Jacobus has not been in contact.
I eventually noticed my order had no record and the cashier mentioned that my pizza was being cut at 35mins off my waiting which by then I figured was a lie ..amongst a store then filling up with customers I asked for my money back and walked out.if this order had not been for my hungry kids I may have been a little more understanding.
Shame on you Romans pizza paddocks and Jacobus Barnard.

burnt and dried pizza
We pre ordered 2x new pizza special on 18 March 2019, collected it before 18:00 due to loadshedding that was happening from 18:00 till 20:30 that evening. The pizzas we bought the base was burnt and very hard and toppings were also burnt and dried out. We had no choice but to eat what we could as a result of the loadshedding. We have been ordering Roman's pizza for all the years and this has never happened to us before as we enjoy Roman's pizza. We will still be buying there but wouldn't want to get pizza I received on the 18 March.

We got your special one topping pizza at your branch opposite Branbury Cross. We chose mushroom topping and is was almost not edible. I have always bought Romans pizzas as I've thought them the best but not this time. It would have been nice if I'd had a response to my first email.
I feel if you're not able to keep your standard for specials then perhaps just don't have them.
I was truly disappointed in Romans & don't want to buy there anymore.

As a consumer it is our right to get fair and respectable service.At Romans Pizza Phoenix Plaza in Durban although they run a great special however they need to train their staff on how important customer service and respect is.I have been to that outlet more than 3 times and have experienced the worst customer experience ever, I have called in placed an order when I picked it up not only was it cold but also poor quality.When I told the cashier this pizza isn't good she jus ignored me, the bottom line is no matter how great your specials may be, we as consumers need to be treated with utmost respect, these cashiers will talk to each other in their vanackular language and jus leave customers standing their unattended for a while, these ladies n gents should appreciate the people who's paying their salaries.I am so disappointed😔

From reviews and complaints that are seen on the Romans Pizza page as much as it's such a disappointment is there anyone from their owners, management or staff taking into consideration of the complaints.I have met someone who complained 6-8months ago and up until date no response as mase, I personally think that you'll need to work rirelessly, have smiles when we customers walk through the door.

I ordered two large pizza yesterday the 30th of January 2019 one was BBQ CHICKEN SUPREME and one was PERI-PERI CHICKEN (NEW RECIPE) for the amount of R165.00 but since it was my birthday yesterday i got both the pizza for the amount of R132.90. When we got home last night after collecting the Pizza we dish up the pizza in our plates. I dish up 1 piece of the BBQ Chicken Supreme and one piece of the Peri-Peri Chicken (New Recipe). I then sat down to enjoy me pizza i took a bite of my BBQ Chicken Supreme pizza slice and what did i found in my pizza? I have found a long blond female hair in my pizza slice. I spit the human hair out my mouth that was very uncomfortable i must say. After we all finished our pizza my Daughter asked me what was wrong with me? I told her that i had a long female blond hair in my pizza. How can you let your workers make pizza without protection on there head to cover there hair? This is unacceptable i will never go to Romans to buy any pizza from you guys anymore.
pizza still raw
Today 24/12/2018 I ordered three small thick base pizzas which were all still raw in the middle. I suppose it was against my better judgement as this was not the first time. Once may be a coincidence but three times now i think not. Relatives of mine also had the same experience more than once. Romans used to be my favourite pizza restaurant but raw pizza is really not appetizing. Please correct the situation either the people cooking need more training or the ovens are faulty. Thank you.
tried calling, and brance closing earlier as advertised
Today 17 Dec.2018 I tried calling Romans in Zevenwaght mall just to find that they not answering. I decided too go to them, on my arrival I was informed by a very stroppy assistant that Romans is close, mind you me an hour before the time and the phones is out of order. Tell me what kind of business are you running with incompetent workers that is not sympathetic to your situation and unapologetic to what is wrong at this branch? Im sorry but this was my last encounter with Romans pizza, im sick of bad service in this country. Jonathan

I have never had a problem with Romans pizza i ordered pizza at about 6 and the outcome was not very pleasant they had put way too much paste on the pizzas it really was not nice i am very disappointed it really was not worth my money so how do we resolve this as i am very unhappy and will no longer support Romans if this is going to be the outcome
