hazardous object in our pizza and bad customer care
On the 01 June 2018 (Friday) around 18:00 I ordered Pizza for my wife and me. The following Pizza I ordered at the front desk was a Thin Base Large Regina and a Thick Base Tripple Cheese Large, I also ordered a 2L Coke. After waiting 25min, My order was ready and they showed me if what they had cooked is what I ordered. I Accepted and proceeded to go home.
On arrival back to my home, I realized they did not give me my Coke, I was upset however I drove 10km's back to the store to retrieve my Coke with no hassle. When I returned home my wife brought to my attention that there was a weird and dangerous looking object in her pizza dough. It was a long and sharp stick which she could have swallowed! I was extremely Disturbed and returned back to the Romans Store and spoke to the manager. The manager's name that evening was Lebo. Please take note that this is now the third time I have visited the store already from the original mistake they made by forgetting to give me my coke. I complained about the Issue. I demanded double my money back for inconveniencing my evening and almost sending my wife to Hospital from their bad quality check.
The manager was extremely rude with me and refused to do so and he only wanted to give me the cash back for the Pizza, taking no accountability for the issue at hand and said to me that I'm just a customer that's coming into his store and demanding whatever I want!
At this point I was furious and demanded then My full refund where then He (Lebo) still refused as I had forgotten the Coke at my House! After A long argument and mind you this is happening in front of all other customers. He finally accepted to return my full Payment of R160. With your HIGH attention, R160 is not a payback for my wife's life and I explained that I would not take this issue lightly. From Shock, I also left my phone at home and demanded that he takes photos of the Pizza and the Dangerous object with his phone. After several attempts and him trying to do so, he said to me that he is not able to do so because he has only R5 airtime and is not able to send one simple picture to me. So I had to drive 10km back home and back to the store another 10km to retrieve my phone and take the photos. He still argued with me and told me he is just the middle man and cant take responsibility for the issue at hand. So to my knowledge, there is no quality control taking place within the store.
My Issue is that my wife could have swallowed this harmful object and could have cut her throat or esophagus open that evening and possibly died. I had received no sympathy and no understanding where I had to FIGHT for my rights and my wife's safety with Lebo (Romans Pizza Parkview, Pretoria). My evening with my wife was also ruined as we had an evening planned and all this Drama ended just before 22:00 in the evening!

I bought 2 large pizzas today at Northcrest Ronans pizza. The cheese did not melt in other one the pizza is burns as is it was done in flames. I do have photo's I attached photos. I am very dissapointed, I wanted ti taste something new and unusual unlike the other company that I dont want to mention that do pizzas. I wantesmd just to buy a pizza from somewhere else but what I got is a disgrace.Olease attend to this complaint. My number [protected].

On the evening of Good Friday, 30 March 2018, we went to the Soshanguve Romans Pizza outlet and ordered the box of 2 large pizzas special, one of which was to be a quattro. Upon collection I discovered the order was incorrect. The cashier, Calvin Lebese refuted I ordered a quattro among the selection, I told him it was the first choice I made when I placed the order. It was changed with an additional charge of R20. But when the order came, someone decided they are going to put too much of the anchovies and olives just strewn about on the pizza. I think this was just a display of spitefulness, for requesting the order be corrected.

We are really disappointed in the management and staff at the Phoenix Plaza branch. We are loyal customers and as off yesterday we will never go back to the Phoenix branch again.
We placed and order and while waiting for the order to arrive, my daughter who had just given blood, felt very weak and dizzy. Unfortunately before we could take her to the ladies she began vomiting and threw up on herself and on the floor. My hubby an I did not know what to do as she was still feeling weak and we could not pick her up. All through this there was no help from management or the staff at the branch who just stood the watching. They did not even offer us a bucket or a tissue to help. We did manage to get her up and took her out of the shop were we were then assisted by the helpers at the blood bank who offered us a chair and tried to help us by cleaning her up. Wanting to rush her home quickly I went back into the shop to get my bag and my niece who was carrying my bag, the floor and chair was still messed. I asked the manager behind the counter and he said that they do not have a cleaner and no one wants to clean the mess. I was offered tissues to clean the mess up myself. Disappointed and very irritated with everyone i immediately cancelled my order and asked for a refund and went back outside to tend to my daughter and told my hubby what was said. He then went in to get my refund and was told that there was no cleaner and that no one wanted to clean the mess. My hubby then told them that because our daughter was sick he will clean the mess, which he did with tissues, then only did an Indian man(not sure if he's the manager) came with a mop and bucket to mop the place. All through this the staff showed no empathy towards us, could not even be bothered that the other customers in the shop was witness to all this happening, and that the mess was still not cleaned up as customers, waiting for their order, looking at the mess on the floor, and customers entering and leaving the shop passing the mess on the floor. To the owner of the branch your manager/supervisor or whoever is in charge of the branch that could not be bothered that his customers are sitting and waiting around the mess on the floor, I think that the Phoenix Branch needs better management and staff. I am 42 yrs old and i've never been through something like this or heard of something like this, or have we been treated with no sympathy like this before, were we the customer are cleaning up ourselves. I hope that no one who has children will have to go through something like this. And 1 more thing after my hubby cleaned up we were told that our order was ready, my hubby told them that he does not want it, we had cancelled the order. I'm disgusted and disappointed that my hubby had to clean up while staff were just standing around watching. I think the customers at Romans showed more empathy towards us than the staff. I always love getting two large magarita pizzas at Romans or even vegeterian pizza, I don't eat meat at all. Today there was a special in Hermanus 99 for two pizzas, I usually pay full price and tip the cashiers on top of that, today I only paid R100, I'm sorry to say but the pizza vegeterian one had hairs on ( pubic hair for sure) I threw up so much now I don't think I'll be able to ever eat a pizza again - sorry I didn't take a photo of what I discovered in my mouth I just vomited

On Saturday at around 16:30 my family and I visited the Kloof Village mall Durban, Roman's Pizza outlet. We were going to have a sit in meal at the branch. We were 12 of us so we ordered 2 of their specials for R189.90 (4 Large Pizzas). We were the only customers in the shop and were having a conversation whilst having our meals.
We were then confronted by the manager/Owner ( a white elderly male), he rudely told us to "shush" we then raised our concern saying that we were paying patrons and he had no right to talk like that to us. He then became vulgar and we were asked to leave his store.
He shouted on top of his voice using terrible language and my kids became scared and asked if we can leave the store.
It is the first time that we had ever been asked to leave a store in that manner. It was very embarrassing as the employees from other stores started to stare at us. We then left the place. Honestly we had a great day spoilt by this uncouth individual that gives the franchise a bad reputation. I will surely tell all the people I know not to even visit the branch anymore.
chicken romana
Yesterday I had ordered 2 pizzas along with a chicken romana, it was my first time eating a pasta meal from roman's and it will definitely be my last. It was the most disgusting flavourless meal I have ever had. The chicken was tasteless, so was the pasta. There was nothing appetizing about this meal, as it looked like a frozen individual meal in a foil container that had been put in an oven. If I wanted a frozen meal I would rather have gone to a grocery store. I expect a response to this complaint as I have been a loyal customer. Do not sell food if you guys cannot even make it edible. Totally disappointed and disgusted.

Good morning,
I am disappointed in Romans Pizza. We as a family love Romans Pizza and have supported Romans for years now. Romans pizza was the only Pizza we could get my dad to buy and accept as dinner because of the thick(pan) base, as he feels that the thin base (traditional) is like eating cardboard.
Never the less, I am disappointed that the last 3 times (We approximately eat pizza once a week) we have not received what we ordered or what we have considered in the past to be the best pizza.
For the last month now every time we order pizza we are informed that there is no pan base left! The first time this was acceptable as this can happen to any restaurant! However the second time and now the third time! This is unacceptable! Why are you clearly advertising something that is not available?
I am sure by now that Romans Pizza North mead knows their customers and knows the amount of pan based pizzas sold every week. Why are they running out of stock? Management should be held responsible for not keeping up to the clients requests.
We as paying clients need to know why are you advertising false products that are not available!
I am disappointed to say that we will be looking into other Pizza restaurants that can actually provide what we are looking for.

We have supported Roman's pizza for many years. Not only were the pizza's value for money, the ingredients were of high quality and plentiful so I was extremely disappointed when getting pizza's at our regular branch in Ferndale to find that not only were they like wedges of cardboard the flavour wasn't up to scratch and it seemed as though there was a cheese shortage. After looking forward to having a treat on a Sunday I'm left angry at yet another business taking advantage of people. This occurred on the 01/10/2017. I'll have to think long and hard before I choose Roman's again for pizza.

I purchsed 2 large pizzas at Romans pizza in Promenade at 6h00. The cashier advised the waiting time was 30 minutes. I felt it was long, but was looking forward to the pizzas. At 7h10, I enquired about the pizzas, as the order numbers after mine was being called. The guy then told me they had a problem with the thick base I ordered, and would try it again if I want them to. I told them they should at least have announced it to the customers, so that the customers know there is a problem. A few minutes later my order is called, and is NOT thick base! The trainee then says it is your oder, the more I was telling him it's not thick base. He rolled his eyes at me! The other guy I initially enquired by, then tells me he had informed me their thick base is a problem, despite being told they will redo it. I just stormed off!

Good day, yesterday evening, 20-09-2017, I purchased a small Seafood and Hot pizza's, thin base from the Roman's pizza branch in Plumstead. When I ate it, the seafood pizza was not cooked thoroughly and tasted raw, especially the base and the calamari was very rubbery and tough. The Hot pizza tasted like macon in stead of beef cubes and also tasted under cooked. I support your franchise for many years and this was truly unacceptable. I have the receipt.

I called Roman's Pizza Stellenbosch (Andringa Street) today at 15:00 to order 2x pizzas to fetch on my way to an appointment, as I was about to leave my workplace. The person on the phone asked me to hold the line while she was helping another customer. I was holding for a while but had to end the call when I reached my car as I was unable to hold any longer. This is the first time that I have to wait on the line this long. I feel that if the person is unable to assist, why can't the phone be machine operated? Also the pizza is cold if you order too early. I am really disappointed as I was really looking forward to having pizza tonight.

Hi, As with some of the complaints I have read, we also love Roman’s Pizza although I must say the following about the service I received form an employee. We order from them a lot and the food is always of a very high quality. I don’t complain in writing as I believe all of us are people, and will have a bad day inevitably at one time or another. This I do have to mention however as I feel there was a lot of people unfairly subjected to the rude and unjustly behavior of a cashier at Romans Pizza in Port Elizabeth, Sunridge Village. How many people does this person have to upset in a day for someone to sit up and do something about this? I was embarrassed (as was her colleague behind the counter who valiantly tried to assist but received much of the same rude behavior). Her name is Larissa van Niekerk (0/70/Larissa) and the incident happened on 23 August 2017. She was extremely rude and it was embarrassing to me to be spoken to like that in front of other customers and employees in the branch. Deciding not to give in and lose my patients, I asked why she was so rude and treating me this way ? My answer: “because I am not supposed to be here today…” And this is my fault how ? If Roman’s are at all worried about losing customers (especially at Sunridge village shopping center in Port Elizabeth) then I would suggest looking at cashiers and employees treating customers as badly as I was treated by Larissa… I do remain a very loyal customer of Romans but will certainly never buy from the branch again. ROMAN’s - don’t let one bad employee throw your name out with the wash water !

This was the last straw. I get pizza twice a month. I always order from the same branch. But complaining at the branch for not having caramelized onions every time I order doesn't help.
This was the 14th time this year that I couldn't get my tangy russion pizza with caramelized onions.
This has to stop and someone needa to fix this from head office.
To me it looks like they simply never order the stuff and keep on charging me for it.
I want a new branch. So had it with ridgeqay gardens.

I love Romans pizza its the best ever but for a second time the romans pizza in meadowdale mall on there fettaronies pizza the small one there is no chilies on. the first time I only took one fettaronie pizza small there was no chilies on so i left it because i can go back aim at work. On 03/07/2017 i took 3 small pizzas two fettaronies and one spare rib an pineapple. the rib and pineapple was good as always but on both the fettaronies was no chilies at all.On that type of pizza you need the chilies to get the full taste. there is more garlic on then anything else. They need to make sure they put all the ingredients on all there pizza's small big or larges. aim disappointed in this romans pizza at the meadowdale mall.

I purchased x1 large meat supreme yeaterday 25/6/2017 at the Gatesville Branch 344 Klipfontein Rd, Athlone, Cape Town, 7764.
I bought it for lunch for my family as before we always admired Romans pizza for their taste and great food they produced.
when we came home and digged into the pizza, i was so disappointed in the taste it was so flavorless, there was no no taste at all we just tasted onion and tomatoes the steak was just as tasteless, my whole family just left the pizza. Bare in mind i wasted my money spending R250 at the branch and to receive a product that has absolutely no taste i was so upset. I will not buy at any Romans pizza because of this horrible experience. Taste matters when you producing food to customers.
I would either like a refund for my pizza purchased or some compensation for the tasteless product provided and also that the branch look into their products and taste it i find this unacceptable.

On Wednesday 26 April 2017 I phoned in my order of 2 large pizzas and a chicken romana to Romans parkview, I waited 30 min before collecting, upon arrival I was told that my order was being boxed, I patiently waited another 30 min before my order number was called, this time my 2 pizzas were handed to me but I was told that the chicken romana is not complete after the kitchen staff frantically looked for it all over. I waited another 15 min before I was called for my chicken romana, then I was told that a 2 liter was added to my order after I specifically asked not to have it added as we do not drink soda, I accepted the 2lt just to get out of the shop, while standing at the counter the waiter proceeded to forget about my 2lt and started handing out new orders, while another waiter and kitchen staff members proceeded to tell me that my chicken romana was incorrect, taking it and just handing it back after a shouting match with each other, finally another waiter saw me and asked if she could hand me my 2lt, finally after 1 hour and 25 min I had received my order, only to return home and find that my chicken romana was in fact a beef lasagna... There was no order in the shop, and no manager present, this is unexpected to someone has been a loyal customer of Romans for many years.

On Wednesday 26 April 2017 at 18:55, I telephionically ordered 2 large pizzas from Heidelberg GP Roman's, and was politely told it would be ready for collection in 20 minutes. Upon my arrival 20 minutes later I was told to wait for my order. As I was waiting, customers came and went, and everybody that ordered was told 20 minutes for collection. This was a blatant lie, as everyone in the establishment was well aware that there was minimum of 1 hour waiting time, apparently. By 20:00 I was still waiting for my pizzas. I do not think this sit well with customers at all, as there was not a lot of customers waiting (about 12 in the queue), and everybody was getting extremely agitated by the slow service. As a regular Roman's customer, I really think the management team needs to look at the caliber of employees in Heidelberg, as this shoddy service is not only costing Roman's a lot of customers, but also costing them their reputation as a leading fast food franchise. Absolutely shocking, to say the least...
chef salad
On the 6th April 2017 at 16:50 I have placed an order at Romanz Pizza Sinoville. When I have placed the order of 3 chef salads I have asked them to replace the onions and green peppers with extra cucumber. The dressing that I have ordered was 2 honey and mustard and 1 1000 island.
When I have received the order, there were onions as well as green peppers in the salad and NO cucumber. The tomatoes was also not fresh and the dressing were also incorrect according to the order. The dressing was 2 honey and mustard and 1 greek salad dressing.
I hope to hear from you, because we were very dissapointed and we will never order anything from Romanz Pizza again.

After ordering my pizzas I asked for the toilet keys as I had tried the toilet door and realized it was locked. The lady at the counter then told me the toilet was too dirty to use, but being pregnant I communicated to the lady how I really didn't care how dirty it was as I was desperately wanting to use the toilet..The manager then went on to take it upon himself to verbally abuse me saying insulting things like 'Go ahead and piss in the dust bin if you're so pressed' etc. It was clear to me that he was not going to give me the toilet keys, I then asked for the managers name and he arrogantly answered 'I am Hudson' I called the customer complaints number which was picked up by who I assume to have been the owner of that particular franchise. He wasn't helpful at all but simply defended his ill mannered manager.
