I just don't understand you people. All you all do is come in our stores trash the place act like ###s. Think you are better then us. let your kids run wild and rip open toys. bring food and drinks into the store even when the sign in the window says not too. you also rip open packages of socks underwear because you need to know how it feels. take off your shoes and feel your own socks drop your pants feel your own underwear and you will now know how it feels. Get off your phones when your in line so you can hear the sales associate when they say hello . Stop being rude. Come into my store and you will be treated as you treat others . If you don't like it go shop at Walmart or Bealls outlet. Oh and stop asking for a dam discount because the shirt or pants or dress u want to buy has a little dirt on it because you dropped it on the floor. I give u a discount it will be sold as is to where no matter what you cant return it at all even if it falls apart in the wash.

do not work here
I was recently hired on at a Ross near Dallas, and I would like to warn anyone considering a job there. If you're thinking about applying, don't. If you've gotten a call for an interview, keep looking.
First of all, Ross is an extremely cheap company. I guess that's to be expected to a certain extent, but they're also very misleading. I applied for a full-time position and wasn't informed that it was part-time until i got to the group interview, which they didn't tell me was going to be a "group" interview. I get paid barely minimum wage (2 dollars less per hour than my last position), they will not allow any part-time employee to get any more than 25 hours. They promised me that i would get very close to that every week, and right now i'm lucky if i get 15 hours a week. I was thinking/hoping that this was just due to the training schedule, but no. The regular employee's, who have been there for 6months+, have had their hours cut down to 4-8 since they hired on more people. They hire way too many employee's, because they know/expect that at least half of them will quit before their 90 days is up. They also told me they were hiring me part time, then when i got to orientation, they made me sign a paper stating that i knew it was summer-seasonal. None of us knew that until they put the paper in our faces.
Aside from being cheap, and misleading, the management staff is terrible. I have had absolutly no one-on-one (or group for that matter) training. They give you no training, and then talk to you like you're stupid when you don't know what's going on. I am extremely good at customer service, it's what I do. My customers love me, even when I am obviously frazzled by a new POS system, and my manager is belittling me in from of them. They always sympathise, because even the customers can see that this woman is horrible. She talks to you like your 10 years old, very condisending.
I have 3 interviews lined up for a REAL job next week, and hopefully i'll never have to set foot in ross again. Do not work here. It is in no way worth it. The only way it could possibly be worth it is if you are a homeless person who is desparate. I likely wont even shop at Ross anymore. I'm taking my business to TJMaxx...

bad reputation for racism & job discrimination
Beware! You don't ever want to shop or work there! Since they opened up 6 years ago, the incompetent managers & "in-crowd" of lousy employees; are well-known for rampant retail misconduct (lying & stealing), having a bad reputation for supporting racism, wrongfully terminating hundreds of good employees due to gender discrimination, and enforcing job discriminatory policies to stop the hiring of African-American men, or failing to keep many of them employed as long as the female co-workers! Many of the bad employees (mostly lazy & inexperienced women), who've managed to stay on during the 6 years (by sabotaging other co-workers), are no quitting at Ross, and trying to get hired at The new Sams/Walmart in Aiken; due to the same reasons that have unfairly kept them employed! Many people in the community feel that these unscrupulous Ross employees should not be hired anywhere! Because, it's not fair to the many good employees, who have lost their jobs for no reason, and truely deserve to be employed by stable jobs to support their families!

retaliation
I was an Asst. Store Mgr from July 2012-April 15, 2013My employment was . terminated for using an Area Supervisor's Time & Attendance login to edit my time. The only two instances I recalled were 4/4/13 when I forgot to clock back in from lunch & on 4/11/13 when I was at WalMart on company business from 11:30pm until my arrival to the store around 2:15 pm.
I wasn't aware I could get fired for this: a borrowed Area Sup. used another's network, email, StaffWorks, Time &Attendance, even alarm codes while he was a borrowed associate in our store. But because the associates were not aware that I was using it, I was fired. My time was not falsified in any way--my FES can confirm I'd forgotten to clock back in from lunch on 4/4 & my AS can confirm my phone call to him & arrival with WalMart bags in my hands on 4/11.Rep
Other occurrences were brought up from March, February & as the HR Rep said, "I could keep going". When I asked why they were just now being brought up, the response was that they'd seen me add vacation time to my timesheet for Saturday under my own #'s & began to look into other edits. But I did this on Sunday morning because as opening MOD, I had to run payroll. I was told this was one of the very few times I could edit my own time, so I used my own login.
Why would something permissible trigger them to begin "digging" (for lack of a better word)? The DM & HR Rep claimed their visit was so the DM Could walk the salesfloor with the SM (which she'd just done last week) & s the HR Rep could talk to me about "how things were going & if I was okay"...that they'd just happened to be at another store together, etc. But at 2pm upon my arrival, the SM was in the office (and had been all day) & as soon as they arrived, neither of them asked to see me or speak to me. Instead, they went straight upstairs with the SM For quite some time (close to 2 hours, if not more). I believe their initial intent was to inquire about him leaving the entire change drawer out at closing Saturday 4/13/13 (which I promptly reported via email the next morning) and to investigate the Alert Line call made regarding the SM giving his keys to an MOD+ The week b efore & her losing the bay door locks. The door was left unsecured most of the day until an SPS alerted me of it. The SM gave me direction to put screamers on the bay doors & the lock from the trash compactor overnight. These are both considered "terminable", but I've never heard of editing my own time as such. Had I known this, I certainly would have never done it. I assumed since I wasn't falsifying my time, that it was ok. In fact, I asked the HR Rep if I'd used my own #s to make these edits, would I be being terminated & she said no that it would just be a corrective.
I feel that if this were an issue & that the SM was supposed to be monitoring edits weekly, it would have been addressed way before now. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the negative action took place only after my initial complaint to the DM regarding the SM on 3/2/13. I also notified the HR Mgr & DM during their visit with me recently that I felt I was being retaliated against & asked that it stop immediately.
I have documented evidence that clearly shows a link between my complaints, other behavior that I believe triggered the retaliation, & and the retaliatory behavior presented by the SM, DM & HR Rep. This would include being denied a transfer to a more desirable location, job shift reassignment, and other changes that have adversely affected my employment at Ross since the SM's arrival.
I am requesting that my termination be reviewed & overturned. If necessary, I am prepared to file a case with the Labor Board should they not take the necessary action.

I was an employee at Ross in Port Arthur, Texas. I resigned from Ross and my last day was December 14, 2012. On my last day at work I was verbally attacked and threatened by a male employee, the loss prevention employee. The incident occurred in front of customers, employees and the store manager. The store manager did nothing at all but laughed. I was scared and shaking from the loss prevention employee screaming and cursing at me for no reason at all. He kept calling me little girl and asking me if I hear him. He screams and shouts "F*CK ROSS, F*CK ROSS, F*CK THESE CUSTOMERS." I did not yell or scream back at this large statured and size man. I'm a female, little frame and this male named S loss prevention guy, is screaming and yelling at me. He walks up to me like he was going to hit me screaming. he then threatens me by saying "You hear me little girl, you hear me, oh you don't hear me? I CAN SHOW YOU BETTER THEN I CAN TELL YOU." After he says that to me he then takes off to the back of the store towards the break room walking very fast. The employee tells me he is going to call his "people" to get me when I get off from work. I'm really scared and shaking. Nobody is saying anything to him, not even the STORE MANAGER. The STORE MANAGER does nothing but laugh and walk off. I was crying and shaking and scared for my life that I just hurry up quickly and clocked out and left. I was so scared for my life. I didn't know what S was going to go do or get but I left quickly before he came back also the STORE MANAGER did not have my back. Nobody at all did. I didn't know if he had a gun or weapon that he was going to "SHOW ME BETTER THEN HE CAN TELL ME". Something needs to be done. Please contact me. He should not get away with this or the store manager.

Went in to Ross Stores to buy women's shoes. Could not see any benches to try them on. No store employees were around to help. Had to try on shoes standing up and fell over injurying my elbow severely.
ooooooh pwned
Foolish enough to leave your first and last name arn't you Jenny. Actually you did not leave the company you were fired for theft. It was not him that was screaming like a mad person it was you that was screaming all the profanity. Then you went around calling him a pedophile(when he has not done a thing) and making a scene. You only calmed down when they threatened to call the police(which they did eventually since you were fired for theft) Seriously if you are foolish enough to leave your first and last name you deserve to be exposed for the truth.
no restroom
I love shopping at ross and it usually i like to take my time and shop around. It has been several occasions that i need to use the restroom or i take my daughter and niece with me and they need to use the restroom. One experience that upset me was my two year old niece had to use the restroom and i asked and they said they don't work but you can go in, we went in and they worked but there was no toilet paper or paper towels anything so i asked is there any toilet paper? i was rudely told that's why we told you they didn't work! wow i guess they can't tell the difference. I don't see the point of not letting customers use the restroom we buy stuff from there we are the ones that keep that store open if it wasn't for us shoppers they would not have a job! Can they even do this? now i try to avoid this store

Ross stores it's going to get in trouble soon if they continue telling the people that the restrooms are broken. It happens to me twice in two different locations. Both times they said that we cannot use the restroom because "it's broken'" and here's what I found.
The Restroom Access Act, also known as Ally's Law, is legislation passed by several U.S. states that requires retail establishments that have toilet facilities for their employees to also allow customers to use the facilities if the customer has a medical condition requiring immediate access to a toilet, such as ...
FYI there is a Texaco station directly across the street. Oh well, too late now.
stop mistreatment
Ross stores are known to treat their employees very badly. Corporate talks about, "This Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (“Code”) contains general guidelines for conducting the business of the Company consistent with the highest standards of business ethics. This Code should be considered to be a minimum standard." This is very much the opposite of how things are being run! One person's complaint seems to be ignored and even laughed at by management and HR's. I don’t believe it is a coincidence that most stores are run the same way. I believe a lawsuit brought forth by everyone who has been wrongfully mistreated by this company, from presently working there and those who have worked there before would not be taken as a joke and would bring justice to all. I am not a lawyer, but I am an American who believes no one should be treated this way, that’s the reason we have Labor Laws. This has nothing to do with, race, age, or sex. It is simply employee's being mistreated by management, and there actions applauded by corporate as long as the revenue is high and cost kept down. This is not the early 1900”s! Let us unite and do something about it. If any lawyers or you have a lawyer as a friend or family, be kind enough to inform us of what to do next. It would greatly be appreciated by all. This is how America was built, and reformed, by people coming together for a better tomorrow.

Don't like it? Don't shop there.. Simple as that!:)
It doesn't matter. I'm a customer and they are rude to us too. One of the employees said that she can help the next person in line. No was paying attention or moved forward so I decide to go next. Then Ms, Johnny come late in the line and the cashier told me she was next. I looked at that nut and said you people are so dam silly. I just walked over to another cashier. I called the store manager and he never called back. He could care less when a customer has a bad experience. They just want your money until they loose their jobs.
no refund policy with merchandise over $50
I was trying to return a $169 bag but I don't have a receipt so I was thinking maybe I could just get a store credit so I can spend it on something else. The store manager at the puyallup WA branch told me it's on the back of the receipt and so I go read it. I told her there is nothing on that print that says NO RETURN NO EXCHANGE ON ITEMS OVER $50.. so she...

today me and my family hade bad expeiance at ross, my complaint is regarding the shopping cartes, why can a custemor cant bring out the cart to its car whene we are bying havy objects that are sold at this stoer, i think there are lassy employes that dont want to pick up tha cartes like every other store, if ross dosent want to satisfy there custemors then ross should close its doors!having familys like min wasting hundendes of dollars for such bad servis, verry desapointet with this store.
First, learn how to use spellcheck. Second, Ross isn't a high end store. If you want your cart to leave the store then go to some over priced place that pampers you like Macy's. Also did you ever consider that maybe the employees aren't lazy. Maybe they can't help because they aren't allowed to leave the store!
Don't trust the employees of this store. I wanted to return several dresses to this store and I wanted to see if I can find something else. I went into the dressing room to try on several dresses and the female employee told me I have to leave my bag outside in a bin. So I did. When I came out I took my bag and left the store cuz the line was way too long to wait in. I went home and opened my bag and my dresses weren't inside of it . Instead of seeing my dresses, there was a pair of super huge man's underwear & a pair of very cheap looking jean. I donated them to Goodwill.
First of all, learn to spell. Do you know why the carts won't go out? Ever see the long, approx. 10 foot pole on the cart? Try pushing the cart out there with that.
Ahhhhh shut up. I love how you can't carry the item to your car yourself. It's a DISCOUNT STORE ###. Do you know what that means? It means they do not and will not be your personal shopper and they won't escort you to your car. You want that, shop at Macy's. Nice spelling by the way.
managers, employees
This store is the reason why teenagers shouldnt be managers. I came in today to buy my nephew a birthday gift with my wife. The store is a complete disaster with employees running a muck. There are open cosmetic items and open toy boxes. As I was browsing through the boys section, I noticed the security guard, who mind you, is about 4 feet tall, socializing with the cashiers. How is this person allowed to guard a department store? Nevertheless, I continued to shop and found my nephew an outfit. While attempting to get in the tremendously overwhelming line, I noticed that there were only 2 cashier stations open. The rest of the employees were socializing and being completely unprofessional. I had the same experience as the other person who left a review for this store! The asian cashier was yelling for customers to come down to her station. As a customer, one would assume that employees should treat their customers with the utmost respect but apparently, this is not the case for this store. As the "manager" Melissa rung me out, not once did she acknowledge me or try and compensate for the lack of help she has. How is this person even a manager when she has her employees socializing with the security guard when someone should be stationed to the other cash wraps? As I scanned my credit card and awaited for it to be authorized, a very tall African American employee came and approached Melissa in a sly manner. It looked as if they were teenagers in a cafeteria room awaiting for privacy. Purely unprofessional and I do not understand how this store is still operating with managers like melissa and the security guard running the place. I understand that stores like Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx are discount stores but nevertheless, it is a retail store that should be run ny highly trained professionals and not young teenagers or people. My wife and I are completely appalled that this store has been operating for nearly a year. I do not plan on returning to this store and I hope that the district managers for this place finds replacements for the unexperienced and unprofessional managers and employees. As the previous ccustomer said, this should be a flea market and not a retail store.
Wow... Young people, short security guard, Asian woman yelling. You are just full of judgements. Why don't you just say they need better trained staff. Last I checked you didn't need to be a middle aged person of a certain race/stature to be able to be an effective manager. Ugh, I really don't like people like you.
Why don't you Brenda?
unfair employee treatment
I only worked at ross for a few months as a seasonal, which I did not even know I was being hired as until after they hired me and sent me home with the company ross packet, which in it stated my employment was only for 90 days, with a possibility of being re hired as a permanent after that time. I was trained for about two weeks, in which time my hour...

Hello,
I had the dis-pleasure of shopping in store #1497 (South Elgin, IL). My purchases consisted of 5 large ceramic flower pots, 3 ceramic rabbits, and a queen sized comforter, and a hat. The manager Jorge (associate # 816534) asked me if I would like bags for the pots. I said no knowing that I could arrange them in my vehicle without clanking or breaking. He at no point in time stated that I was not allowed to take the shopping cart into the parking lot. It was not until I tried to exit that the alarm went off because I was trying to exit the store with my paid for merchandise. I returned to his register to confirm with him that I could not take the cart outside. He said “no, I thought you knew.” I replied “no, I have never shopped here before and this will be my last time.”
Assuming the customer is aware of your bizarre policy and poor customer service is not acceptable my standards. During my transaction he could have stated the policy about carts because very obviously I do not look like an octopus. How in the world did he ever think I could get this stuff to my car?
Then as I tried to exit the store again I found that Jorge failed to remove the security tag from the comforter. And no point in time did Jorge display any sense of customer service skills. He didn’t even apologize for his inconvenience. Being that he is a manager I would expect more from him. If it was some kid I would just think he’s inexperienced but a manager acting this way. I don’t think so.
I don’t need to spend my money somewhere where I am going to get treated like crap. I can stay home and get treated like ### for free! Hope this way of doing business works for you. I will no longer be doing business with you.
I hope you enroll Jorge in some management classes and teach him how to work with people.
Good Luck!

wow does no one see the big poles that stick up out of the carts they are there for 2 reasons one so they can be spotted in the store and 2 so they can not go outside. open ur f^%$ eyes [censored].
Well Jesus, Captain Obvious! You would have thought that the 4-foot pole attached to the side of the cart would've given it away! Maybe you shouldn't have dropped out of high school.
Give me a break. "Horrible customer service" is not being able to take carts outside? And about the manager, there's a lot of regular customers that shop at Ross, and he honestly thought you already knew about the carts not going out. That doesn't count as "being treated like crap". If you want to be treated like a queen, go to macy's or bed, bath and beyond, and pay double the amount or more. Ross is a discount store, and has limited services to save on money, so stop ### and go shop elsewhere if it bothers you so much.
abusing loyal workers
I work at Ross and it has become bazaar and macabre. I think they are going to kill all the older women who are the only ones left working hard and showing up. The reward for that is nothing but pressure to leave by horrid impersonal scheduling, forced by under staffing to work three jobs at once and then cleaning the whole store at close. The longer you have been there the more they try to get rid of you, costing them more an hour from a worker's tiny yearly raises and they can get paid by the State to replace you with ex-cons, special ed and special needs associates who frankly cause everyone extra work. I work the Fitting room and on a busy Sunday with our extended hours open until 9:30, short staffed with no one working the floor, I am constantly processing boxes of underwear for the backed up stockroom, straightening the toy area, pet area, bra & panty area, glassware, even as far as juniors tops with non-stop people fuxing in and out of the fitting rooms, never missing hanging the 1 - 8 items on the bar to 'count' them. l then was left to pick the whole place up with just an assistant manager and two prima donna head cashiers who specialize in non-essential busy work while the floor worker[s] break our balls in double time trying to make the place perfect after cleaning & working hard all day long.
I hurt so much, all the time, I can no longer sleep and am in a constant state of exhaustion. I wake up all night long with leg pains and knots forming in my calves. They took our cushioning floor mat away last year, because it looked messy, so there seems no getting used to the constant hardness of the floor.
Almost everyone is part-time and that means at times locking us into no more than 12 hours a week scheduled, to then be available 12 hours a day/night, 7 days a week for call-ins. You never know your next weeks schedule until usually Thursday, so there is never a chance to ever make appointments or ever go away or frankly to do anything. Days off are purely recovery days, you just lie in shock. The specialty treatment for some is astounding, building our schedules as disoriented leftovers after friends are catered to. The amount of accidents is also astounding and come from unsafe conditions and being over worked. We have 4 out of 5 managers severely hurt, long term.
Ross is a prime example of corporate greed and unashamed to follow the Walmart example of how to abuse their work force, giving no benefits or bonus, no usable healthcare, no regular days or schedules, open abuse by customers treating their workers like criminals while we see people steal all day while they do nothing; a lawless land catering to cashing out all the funds accumulated by illegal immigrants who destroy the store daily with total disregard. Not to mention the abandoned masses of undomesticated children swarming the store daily and nightly. I fear for America's future.
I just want to comment and say that I was on board with this complaint until the mention of special needs employees or special ed students being hired was brought up. To be honest, I lost all respect towards the person filing. I have worked retail, never for Ross, but for many companies and I understand how hard it is, physically exhausting and I have had to quit jobs due to physical issues and I'm only 29. It is horrible to work with bad employers and under stressful and unnecessary circumstances; however, saying that they are bad employers in part by replacing their employees with special needs workers is discriminatory and made me stop reading a few sentences from the end. I get the pain, etc. but don't say that special needs' workers make things harder. Do you know how hard it is to live THEIR lives? Do you know how hard they work? My brother has been working at a grocery store chain for 8 years and he's one of the hardest workers there. He's been promoted multiple times and he has cerebral palsy. He fights discrimination from customers DAILY. Yet, he lives by himself because he wants to be a typical adult and take care of himself. Don't say that he's a different case, he's got limited communication, is deaf in one ear, among other barriers. And as for ex-cons, where are they supposed to go? It's not like they're getting job offers on Wall Street. They are generally trying to improve their lives. My best friend went to prison because she got too many DUI's. She's sober now and just wants to have a normal life but she's getting locked out of all the jobs other than graveyard crappy jobs.
Had you not added a layer of emotion to this post, I would have definitely empathized but you failed to get my support due to your insensitivity. What could have been a statement that brought support and attention to the workers at Ross, became a whiny complaint that actually worsened your cause. I am only taking the time to write this because I wanted you to realize that writing something emotional does not bring anything helpful towards the cause. I saw protests at my local Ross about immigrants. I searched online and saw this and only one other article that was a legal file about a CA store. This being my first exposure to the issue, there was a great opportunity for another person to join in and write letters, etc. I am all about being an advocate. But now, I don't even want to keep looking at arguments against Ross, because I'm pissed off about your whining.
If anyone brings up an issue like this, be sure to take consideration of your potential reader.
i work at a ross in casper wy the store mananager shouldnt even be a store manager at best a stock lead there pay sucks so true is work fitting room they think u should do stockrooms job of hanging bras ect and all kinds of other ### at ross in casper with store manager and other stuff
I worked at the store in Glenwood Springs Co and its no different here. I had to quit because of family obligations and moved to Missouri. They know I moved but refuse to mail my paycheck. I asked the Assistant Manager to please mail it and she told me no, that I could come in and get it if I want it. I contacted the Department of Labor and surprise surprise they told me it was perfectly legal for them to keep my paycheck.
I work for RDL in So Calif. Same here. They are systematically getting rid of tenured and higher paid employees. Then when you go to unemployment hearings (they always deny claims) they have all the nit pikey evidence with no real merit and the EDD agrees, with them!. Yes they missed a highlight and 1 initial. The EDD is the 1% lapdog. The 99% is lost. Any Class Action Lawsuits out there post the on the WEB. Ross Dress for Less NEEDS A UNION! If there is any UNIONs out there, HELP!
hostile environment
It took me sometime to deiced if I would report to my local store or if I even had the place to say something. I attempted to speak to a manger of the store (#14) but got a rude lady who showed no concern. Point is I over herd one of the managers, in Spanish say "dejar que el sudor de mono" (let the monkey sweat) to the security guard in reference to the new African American supervisor. My jaw dropped and my daughter herd it too. For about six minuets while I waited by the carts with my daughter for my neighbor to get her things purchased, I witnessed them laugh and degrade him in Spanish. The young man, Nathaniel is his name was swamped with the regular mile line long at Ross, he even turned around and asked the manger for help, called for service via the loud speaker, while the two jerks snickered and spoke down on him in our native language. I say our because I am a latina and proud; but my 13 year old daughter herd this a witnessed racism in a sad and unfortunate way. I'm 100% sure Nathaniel was oblivious to the banter happening behind him because he was focused on the customer in front of him, rushing to "over ride" something for another cashier and I know he primarily speaks the English language. I've held conversation with this young man to the point we discussed San Diego, where he just relocated from and he was very well versed believe me. I literally thought I was on "What would you do" with John Quinones...lol all jokes aside, I would have failed because I did nothing when I should have. I should have spoken up because no one deserves that blatant disrespect and they were getting joy out of making his job harder. To attack his character with racial slurs while on the sales floor with no regards to who is around is appalling. I am at that store atleast twice a week, every Tuesday with my client for senior Tuesdays and always through out the week with my daughter. I have witnessed Nathaniel wither from a happy, eager cashier... to the regular run of the mill ill tempered Ross employee with -in weeks of his new employment at Ross. My daughter bought the incident back up and it showed me she was affected by this. So were writing this together. if you ever go to Ross on Pacific Coast highway store 14 in Los Angeles, go see Nathaniel, hes such a joy to talk to and gentlemen. Let him know you read this and there are good people in LA.

returns and bad service
This Ross store was in Dublin, CA. My mom and I actually intended on first returning the perfumes we bought less than a month ago and then browse the store for some clothes for an event she'll be attending the following day, but since this visit was so unpleasant, we actually feel like never returning to this store anymore. We've been shopping at this store for five years or so and have never encountered problems with the service. Today, the cashier that assisted us was rude, and told us that we couldn't return the perfume, because we didn't have the price tag on but we had the receipt. The price tags were off because it was meant as a gift and normally those are taken off if the price shows. Their store policy states that the product should remain unopened and a receipt is necessary if exchanged or returned. The cashier, Ashlee, said that it was store policy that the price tags HAVE to be on and that she couldn't return it. She opened one of the perfume bottle's containers and called the police officer, Joe, to restate what she had just said. Before we let it go, my mom nicely asked if they could point out where it says in print that a price tag is necessary, but both Joe (police officer) and Ashlee (cashier) couldn't find it, so they called another Ross representative to deal with us, his name was Admir. He told us the same things Joe and Ashlee already stated, the items can't be returned. Admir then proceeded to open the other perfume bottle and saw that everything was still together yet still argued that a return wasn't possible. My mom kindly asked if they could double check, and Admir replies with "I'm 100% sure we can't return it for you. But sure I'll verify." Both cashiers, Ashlee and Admir, we're the ones that opened the perfume bottles and claimed that part of why the return wasn't possible was due to the bottles being opened. When Admir left to "verify" something that he was 100% sure of, we waited around 15 almost 20 minutes, and decided we were just going to file a complaint instead of wasting our time at this store. Admir wasn't able to return to us. The police officer, Joe, was the one who told Ashlee, cashier, to give us a voucher that we don't intend on using since we don't want to return to this store. Bad service due to rude employees and store policies aren't made clear for the convenience of customers.

I Just got back from Ross on foothill ave Pasadena CA, I was trying to return a pair of jeans with all the tags and the store tag, i didn't have the receive but all the originals tags on the pants, I was very angry when they told me that my refund was $1.80 cents because I didn't have the receive, this is ridiculous that after you pay 20.00 dollars for something they want to give you back 1 miserable dollar. And in top of that dealing with the nasty attitude of the so call manager. This Ross wont see my butt there never again and I will make sure every one now about my experience there...
Hi, I am a supervisor a a Ross in PA. Those employees were wrong about the policy. Unless its different out in CA, the return policy states, returns are given back on any type of merchandise not worn torn or altered. Perfumes and electronics may also be returned un-opened. You have 30 days to return to get your money back, after that, you will get a store credit. You can do a return without tags as long as you have your receipt. You can also do a return without a receipt, but you will get a store credit for the items going rate. If you don't have either, no return can be done. I'm sorry for your experiance at that Ross, but I assure you that all stores are not like that one! Good luck!
I have been a regular shopper at Ross for years and have returned several items in the past and not one time have I been asked about the price tags. Every item I returned did not have one. All I had to have was my receipt and Driver's License. Those employees were lying through their teeth, unless this is some kind of new policy they just put into effect, but you would think they would have informed you of that. I just went to their website and looked up their return policy and there isn't anything about having to have the price tag still on it. I would contact the head manager of that store. Good Luck!

I totally agree with you on this one. Shoppers at DD's and Ross please be aware that you are not royalty and you are not better than us associates because otherwise you wouldn't be shopping here. Stop treating us like dirt and complain about dirty stores when you all are the ones that trash the place..
