Driver disrespect
I was diving in the right lane on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn when out of nowhere, one of your Stanley Steemer drivers asserted themselves in front of me. No room and certainly no signal. I had to slam on my breaks or there would have definitely been an accident. It was around 4ish on Friday, July 21st, van number 3232. I blew my horn. There was a lot of traffic so you would have thought they needed to make an immediate right. Nope, This occurred maybe 4 blocks away from the Flatbush extension. They drove at least 2-3 more blocks.

They did a terrible job. Left a mess in the entry hall when they dragged their hose across our deck through the front door and claimed I made the mess. Left black foot prints on the white tile floor. Didn’t get any of the small stains out and said, “we don’t guarantee to get everything clean.” I got them out myself. Didn’t put the furniture back. I did, and had to ask them for the blocks that go under the legs on the wet carpet. The stairs look worse that they did before the cleaned them. Don’t use this company. I have used others and they did a good job. Basically a waste of money and left a lot of work for me to do.

Yesterday I called and told the representative I was unhappy with the carpet cleaning of Saturday, August 22. She indicated a manager would call me. In booking the appointment, I said I had a one bedroom apartment and was told the cost would be $137 The final charge was $264: LR,DR,BR, 1 hall clean, 1 entry clean. The reason I called initially was the "entry way" and it is still dirty and has white spots. I hereby ask for a $100 refund. Ann McCormick

I had them come to clean my upstairs area and down my stairs by the time they set up and did the job it was 30 min and they was out the door that is 30 min setting up and cleaning!?! That’s crazy who can charge $160 for 20 min worth of work? Not worth it! April 28th was my service date

Carpet cleaning in Branford CT
Only one worker came to do the work, carpet clean 6 areas, 1000 sq ft.
The worker never texted to say he was on the way, he showed up around 9:55 am.
He was gone by 11:55, on my property for a total of 2 hours.
He spent close to a half hour doing nothing but trying to upsell stuff. When he did start, he connected to my 100ft outside garden hose to supply his Stanley steemer equipment. My garden hose is stored outside and has slimy, mildewy goop all over on the inside of the hose, which he sprayed all over all my carpets.
He didn’t protect the natural oak woodwork banisters on my staircase and did permanent damage, leaving wood slivers on the floor. He also damaged other areas in doorways, but at least that wood trim is painted and easily repaired.
His long heavy duty vacuum hoses came loose when he was leaving and crashed down the entire flight of 15 steps leaving deep marks on my pristine wooden stairs.
The total time he spent actually cleaning carpets was only 1 hour for 6 areas I was charged for, that’s 10 minutes to carpet clean each area! Just vacuuming should be at least 20 minutes per room, what a joke of a worker, basically faking the job, doing nothing even close to cleaning my carpets.
Dirty water was pouring out the sides and back of the Stanley steemer van, grungy puddles were left on my gravel driveway. The worker drove around the puddles, onto the grass to avoid driving through all the dirty water that he drained from his van.
My house was completely empty except for a nice sofa and lounge chair in one room, and the worker decided to leave the furniture legs unprotected. Each piece has 4 inch wide wooden legs. After he left, I had to lay down plastic to get the eight legs out of the soaking wet carpet. The work was extremely bad, he left the carpets way too wet, he is supposed to vacuum up the water which should contain the carpet dirt, but the carpets were left a mess and the dirt was still visible. I did my own carpet cleaning for decades, this carpet cleaner is completely clueless.
The carpets definitely were not cleaned, 10 minutes per area is not acceptable. I used a vacuum cleaner and brush and had much better cleaning results than Stanley Steemer’s equipment did.
I complained right away and Stanley Steemer said they would repair the damaged woodwork and have a crew redo the carpets, but unfortunately the damage natural wood can’t be fixed, it’s the corner of a natural oak banister, now permanently chipped. The repairs require a professional woodworker.
And Stanley Steemer missed their chance to fix their carpet cleaning issue. I hired them to clean the carpets of an empty house before I moved in. Stanley Steemer wouldn’t even try to get anyone back to my place to fix their issues, before my already scheduled movers. Stanley Steemer just said that’s not their problem, and put me to the end of their work queue! I gave them changes to fix their issues and they couldn’t accommodate my schedule.
The guys on the phones are nice enough, but they have a young worker that isn’t up to the task, he talked of his investmenting in crypto for easy money and his one yo kid and how his pit bull isn’t getting attention now that he has a kid.
I know my carpets didn’t get properly rinsed. I am sure there are some good carpet cleaner workers at Stanley steemer, but I got the bad apple. A young kid that is clueless about work and should have been supervised.
I had pristine woodwork in a house I just purchased, I was shocked and extremely upset at the lack of caring and all the damage done. I’ll probably never be able to fully get the garden hose mildew out of my carpets, they all need to be replaced. Thanks
I submitted a complaint earlier on this site, but I don’t think it was ever visible publicly, so I am resubmitting, hopefully other people will have better luck with Stanley Steemer.
Desired outcome: I think they should have just refunded my money and they need to improve their training and worker requirements. Also, for a large job, two workers are required, sending just one worker and expecting good results?
Furniture cleaning and carpet cleaning
I had Stanley steemer come in and clean four bedrooms a couch and a loveseat for $350 including deodorizer. Upon returning home after work I noticed the couches were still filthy. The area rugs edges were dirty still. When I call him back and said I thought he was unprofessional in his service. He threatened to take in his own hands and hurt somebody if he had to come back out here. He was very unprofessional on the phone and very angry. I never raised my voice to this fellow one time but all he could do is yell back threatening statements to me like call me a little punk and threaten to hurt me if he had to come back and re-clean my furniture
Desired outcome: Since he has made threatening statements to me. I would like the money back on my sofa my love seat the area rug and the deodorizer.

Stanley Steemer is working to resolve the issue. I don’t want anything, I am old with a disability and I didn’t know what to do when guy was messing up my new (to me) house. The prior owners had kept the house and woodwork in excellent condition. I worked hard all my life, and finally had something nice. While the worker was on the second floor, I was just staying out of his way, I was organizing a few things in the garage. I was surprised when all the sudden, the worker is putting his stuff away, it seemed way too quick. I should have never paid him, he showed me the carpet, they looked horrible, and he said that dirt (in every room) won’t come out, and I believed him. The dirt does come out. I didn’t think about the other issues and damage until later. I had treated the guy very nicely too, even bought cleaning stuff that didn’t want or need, and I tipped him.

I scheduled a area rug cleaning service. They came and damaged my expensive rug. I called and they said they will send someone to fix it. The guys who came said even if we do another cleaning this issue will not be resolved. The women who called me was extremely rude and refused to listen. She had no respect for people and was just not willing to understand people concern. This happened in chantilly va. She is not providing a reasonable solution and refused to offer refund also. Damage to property, unethical behavior
8/10/20 In# 2605435 my parents ordered a service from Fortune Dr Lex, KY. After already preforming the "add on " service of cleaning the coils and charging an additional 150.00 $, the tech did not remove the debris and in turn clogged the piping and catch tray. The next day the ceiling is split and pouring water. No response from GM for resolution. I spoke to Will at the corporate office who said he agreed and heard several red flags especially the one where the tech named Justin said he would also clean out the dyer vents if my dad slipped him a 50.00$ bill. I spoke to Will on 10th, 11th, and 12th saying he was working on it and now no response from him. Donald called my mother on 12th and she told him he needed to speak to me and that I have been talking with corporate, his response was, Who had i been talking to and she did not have an answer, he hung up on her. The damage is extensive. My parents are elderly and have been taken advantage of. Repairs and refund are expected. There should be recorded conversations with corporate.

Not only you screwed up the appointment Saturday October 26, 2019 by not showing up, no calls and had to reschedule today and I had to take off work half a day today due to your company's fault, and gave us $20 off? So pathetic, heres pictures that I took, before and after was not a lot of different, it looks like it has not been clean at all and my husband paid $171.00, very, very disappointed not only you screwed up our schedule Saturday, high charged and lousy cleaning. The advertising that Stanley Steemer is doing is absolutely gross ridiculous and needs to go away why do I want to watch this especially while I'm trying to eat. STANLEY STEAMER should be ashamed of themselves although they probably don't care cause they are still showing them. Take these commercials off the air they are not something that needs to be shown. I'm sure there are better and more tasteful ways to advertise your services.

The Stanley Steemer "gross" campaign is disgusting, vulgar and repulsive. One depicts a vomiting child and another features a dog wiping feces on rug all cleanable by Stanley Steemer.

The company refuses to answer my complaints
television advertisement
The tv ad that shows a child hitting himself in the testicles is abhorrent. They are demonstrating the self-abuse of genitalia by a pre-pubescent child. I saw the same commercial with a different edit, where the child does a silly dance and gets the same reaction of "spit/that's gross". I thought perhaps they had received enough complaints to pull the other version. But, no, it was just once or twice in a storm of these advertisements on nearly every channel. I've complained to the company and will start complaining to the channels I find the ad on, and I'm trying to figure out how to complain to the FTC.

I find the Stanley steamer commercial, the one where the boy hits himself in the private area, to be extremely inappropriate... Beside the fact that the boy is a horrible, horrible actor ( you can tell he hits himself on purpose) there's a hundred other ways something could have spilled on the carpet besides the boy hitting himself in the private area.. Terrible commercial with extremely bad taste and humor all the way around
