Ster-Kinekor Baywest, Port Elizabeth

21/12/22- booked for 3 to view Avatar. Got there, went in at about 15:00 as the movie was supppse to start at 15:15. Hardly sat when we were told to leave the theatre as the movie needed calibration? We then waited up to about 16:00. Manager no show and none of the personnel was helpful after we started asking to see the Manager. No one to help with refund as we were told only the Manager can. We eventually got 3 tickets for next show at about 16:30 from one of the assistants. Manager still no show. All I can say, this was bad, felt helpless and almost like when you realise someone has defrauded you! We have tickets, but do really want to go there again. Basically a R1000 for 3 tickets and snacks and you get such service! To top it all, they knew of the problem but still sold tickets!

Desired outcome: Refund, complimentary tickets including the snacks and a public apology

Ster-Kinekor Stealing our money

My wife booked 4 tickets on Monday with Ster Kinekor, but there was a problem, the money went off from her bank account, but we never got any tickets or confirmation. Ever since she has been phoning them to get an email confirming this in order to reverse the money with the bank without luck. I would take caution when booking online with Ster Kinekor because it seems that stealing people's money is their thing!

Ster-Kinekor Cinema service

We went to see the black panther movie of the 26th november 2022 at rosebank, at the zone.

The service was great upon our arrival, the issue started when the movie started.

The motion seat was not moving out of the two seats we had booked. My boyfriend went to ask for assistance from the guy who assisted us, and he was told the issue will be fixed and we will be advised.

About five minutes later, the seats next to us switched on, we could not just move to seats not knowing if they were booked by other people. We waited ten more minutes for the guy who said he would come back to advise us when the issue is resolved.

My boyfriend had to go again and enquire and thats when he was advised we can use the seats next to us, we were at cinema 1.

The movie had already started, and we missed out on the beginning as we were doing up and down trying to get assistance from the staff.

Ster-Kinekor Poor service received from Ster Kinekor the Zone, Rosebank

Good day,

I would like to report the following:

I booked tickets to watch Wakanda forever online, reference no. WXPMGBK for the 12/11/2022 at The Zone Rosebank (20:30pm show). What a horrific experience. While waiting in a queue for 45 minutes (load shedding happened) so we were not allowed into the movies. At no point during the waiting period was there any communication from the staff as to what was happening and what the plan of action was. Everyone stood there waiting when it was eventually said in passing by a staff member that their main generator was faulty and the guy who was supposed to come sort it out was not answering his phone? Please understand that all this time no one was providing any kind of information. When I eventually got to the front of the queue to inquire about the situation, I was met by rude staff that were short with the patrons. I advised that we'd been waiting for a while without any information and instead I was told the following: 1) either I must join another queue to get a rescheduled ticket or I was told that because I booked online I can go that route for a refund or if I want to wait I can wait? This Flippant attitude by the staff to try and understand the frustrations of the patrons is actually so disappointing. All I want is my money that was paid for my prestige tickets and snacks to be refunded to me immediately. The poor customer service leaves much to be desired and I will definitely not be going back to watch any movies at this facility again. I can honestly go back to watching at Numetro.

Desired outcome: I would like either to have an immediate refund of my money as I leave the country on Wednesday 21/11/2022 or I need new tickets for this weekend of the 19th of November 2022.

Ster-Kinekor Poor movie quality

So on Friday 11/11/22 we went to go watch new black panther movie( Wakanda Forever) at Maponya Mall Soweto during the movie we noticed that the quality is poor and we went to go complain to the staff about it and we were told there is nothing they can do about it as that was the format that was given to them.

All that I’m asking for is a refund on my movie ticket and the snacks I got, below are the pics and video of what we experienced and receipts of the purchases

Ster-Kinekor Unacceptable behaviour by your staff - Blue Route

I would like to lodge a complaint. Blue Route, Mrs Harris goes to Paris 13.30 show - 14 October 2022. After doing some shopping with a friend we decided to see the show. The treatment received by 3 of your staff members is disgusting and unacceptable. I was asked to leave my shopping bag at their counter! Really, do you guys see stupid written on my head? They accused me of having food in my bag. How did they know that I was going to consume it? Yes, I had 2 bags of chocolates for Christmas presents, some shampoo and stationery. No drinks! Ster-Kinekor is in 'Rescue' I believe (not surprised). You have virtually no staff, yet all of a sudden 3 staff members continually harassed me in the cinema with people around. I will never go to see a Ster-Kinekor movie again. You should be grateful that you have customers, yet you allow this unacceptable behaviour. I demand an apology by 17 October, otherwise I will take this to social media.

Ster-Kinekor Bad attitude from attendant and manager

Hey there,

I was in stekinekor in fourways todayand I'm very disappointed on what i went to,i booked tickets for the movie Thor, ot wad me my little sister and mu 2 year old oson, and when inwas about to get inside the movie room the attendant lady Silva told me that my 2 year old isn't allowed because a movie is for 13 years upwards, i ddnt mind all that so i requested refund,now that's problems started, i couldn't get my refund because all of a sudden they cant find my transaction on thier system, mind you i made plans to watch that movie and after 2 hours our free ride was going to fetch us after 2 hours now all our plans were crushed because we couldn't watch the movie and we had to leave there and there and go home. We were stranded with no money on us for a whole 2 hours we almost got mugged and I was having a 2 year old you know with no food and no ride and the manager said there's nothing he can do about it... All i want is my money back asap i don't want to wait for weeks or whatever, i felt so abused especially as a young mom, i was very abused and I NEED MY MONEY BACK.

Ster-Kinekor Demeaned and humiliation by cinema attendants

Tokai branch. Horrible experience for my daughter and her friend in matric on 4th oct 2022. Was very rudely spoken to by 2 attendants. They allowed fair skin ppl with luxuries not bought by the cinema, yet confiscated her own water btl and was rudely told to buy water at the cinema of r20. Insane. So much more happened that reduced her and friend to tears and had a very bad experience when all they wanted was to enjoy a movie b4 finals. Was even rudely told again why do you need your jkt, give the whole bag. Her friend who suffers from asthma was also not allowed her water. We are appalled and want it dealt with

Ster-Kinekor Movie gave green screens and movie froze.

24sept 19:30 Avatar Eastgate imax.

Move flashing green screens and froze halfway, we could not finish.

Manager was of no help.

I want my money back. I have proof and a list of names that was in the same theater aswell demanding there money back.

I drove 140km combined to watch the film and what a waste of time and money.I have proofphone or watsup me on [protected]

Ster-Kinekor Service from staff at the musgrave branch

It was our first time going to see a movie at this location (after not going to the cinema since before the pandemic). There were no customers (we ended being only 2 out of 4 people seeing the movie) and no staff behind the ticket and food stations, so we were confused as where to get tickets. I needed to use the bathroom urgently so I asked my sister to wait and try and get tickets while I use the restroom. Suddenly one of the ladies working there( who had been standing and talking to two other ladies the whole time and they all made no attempt to greet or be helpful to an extent that we were surprised that she and the people she was talking to were employees) starts shouting and says we need tickets to use the bathroom we try to explain that I need the bathroom urgently and she can show my sister where to pay so long.

We then ask where to get tickets, and she keeps screaming that we need to leave (the floor that the movie theatre was on) for no apparent reason, so we ask again where to get tickets and she lies and says downstairs and laughs while we leave. Only after bringing our mother did we then receive proper service.I have never experienced such rude treatment from staff from any establishment. All of this transpired from us not knowing where to buy tickets and me needing to use the bathroom urgently.I was visiting Durban and this treatment was very disappointing and soured my experience.

Desired outcome: Get staff that actually wants to do their jobs and help the customers instead of those who want to be rude, lazy, shout and tell customers (people there to watch a movie and give your business money) to leave.

Ster-Kinekor Ticket Refund Request

I booked 2 prestige tickets for Thor on 10 July.

I was unable to attend the showing at 18:30 so I phoned customer care at 12:00 to cancel my booking. I was informed by the call centre agent that she would phone me back shortly to confirm the cancellation. She did not do so and I phoned again at 15:00 on the same day. I was told that I would have to contact the call centre again the following day as there was an issue with the system. I then sent an email to your customer care to outline the aforementioned as I was not confident that my request was properly processed. When I phoned the next day the call centre agent was a person called Wandile. He informed me that the cancellation / refund request was not processed and that I cannot request a refund as the scheduled movie had already showed. I then forwarded the email evidencing my cancellation request before the show time and was told it would be escalated to head office. Wandile then failed to contact me as promised for the remainder of that week. I then phoned again last week and was told that head office informed Wandile that my refund request came after the showtime. Once again, I sent the customer care email evidencing the fact that I requested the cancellation and refund well before the showtime. Wandile promised to phone me back the next day and failed to do so. When I contacted the call centre again last week Wednesday, I was then told by Wandile that head office will no process my cancellation and issue me with a voucher instead of refund as the showtime had already occurred. I accepted the voucher and was assured that I would receive it within the week. I have to date not received anything to this effect. I contacted Wandile again this morning to request an update. He then informed me that head office had issued the vouchers and that I should have received them. When I informed him that this was not the case he promised to phone me back again. I just received his call whereby he informed me that they can’t issue the vouchers as the refund was already processed. He then told me that I must now wait for him to confirm with the bank as to the status of my refund (which according to him was issued on the 10th of July). I have tried on numerous occasions to contact Ster-kinekor's head office to resolve this and have been unsuccessful every time.

Ster-Kinekor Tickets

How extremely disappointing to want to buy a ticket at the movies, I only had cash on me only to ve turned around saying they don't take cash! Then sending me to a bank to go and deposit money! No one willing to buy my ticket and take the cash! I am severely [censored]ing upset!

A customer being pushed around, Brooklyn mall will NEVER see me or my family again!

Ster-Kinekor Refund request

2nd Request for refund

Booked 2 x Tickets online for Elvis on Sunday 10/7/2022 at Bayside Ster Kinekor . Access denied due to loadshedding .

No notification online that theatre does not function during loadshedding .

Not alerted to this when collecting ticket at Cinema prior to performance .

Management consulted ( Sesethu Jezile ) - most unhelpful - promised to send claim form as apparently no refund facility available at Cinema - to date no contact has been made to implement restitution . Refund required .

Ticket purchase ref : WJBRF7G R130.00

Still no response to complaint logged 11/7/2022.

Ster-Kinekor Bad service ster kinekor - irene mall

Hi, we went to Irene Mall Ster Kinekor. We tried to get club cards. But they said we must apply on line. Both my husband and I tried several times... It just fails. I've send emails. I have phoned your customer service dept many times. No answer. I am not impressed!

Ster-Kinekor Complimentary tickets not valid

I tried to contact sterkinekor on their website but the contact details does not open. We received 2 complimentary tickets for a 2d movie but when we wanted to use it this weekend Friday 28 May 2022 at ilanga mall Ster kinekor nelspruit they said it is not valid anymore. There is a "new" ticket out now! He did enter the numbers but the system shows not valid — my tickets does NOT have a expiry date? Redeemable at any sterkinekor?

How can it not be valid anymore?

Ster-Kinekor I was attacked and almost in a fist fight with your employee while with my children

I visited mall of Africa ster kinekor on the 21st of May 2022. With my two young children. At the ticket checkup I found that the online system. Only booked 2 instead of 3. While enquiring with the person another customer rudley interuppted me and stated her own conversation with the person who was helping me. I asked the women not to be rude. She spoke in her language to the guy at that was helping me. He became aggressive and asked me if im calling him and idiot and sided with the rude lady. I wont make this a race think. But he then wanted to get physical and I remi did him im a customer. My son got so afraid that he dropped his drinks and popcorn on the floor.

I called the manager as I was so upset. The manager has not contacted me or taken my number. He said I must see him after the movie and I could not find him. This is pathetic that your employees fight with your customers and want to hit them. I want this escalated to management as I will cancel all dealing and never visit and also share my story with the press.

Ster-Kinekor Movie tickets

My family and I purchased 5 movie tickets today for MR Bones.. 1 was for my son who is 4, i was able to buy the ticket and then when we were going to check in we were told my son is not allowed to go in due to age restrictions.. why was I able to purchase the ticket in the first place

My son was so disappointed as we wanted to watch the movie and then we were told to wait 24 hours before we could get a refund when we were left today with nothing to do, a disappointed child and unsympathetic staff that showed no empathy and willingness to assist... today was my husbands birthday and your plans were spoilt. Guess u'll are happy with loosing customers since your staff clearly dont care

Ster-Kinekor Website info / noisy popcorn pkt

Hi

Has vitality movie holders we use ur movie house ALOT but in the last couple of yrs nt so much.

Recently my family and I went to Ceda, booked tickets online but no prompt to purchase snacks so when we get to the movies we now have buy online 😱😱🤔... Also the most noisest popcorn in a brown paper bag OMG!😳😱

TRYING too book today, NO electricity schedule on ur site... 😩😩🙄😬 It's really nt hard to make it easy for ur customers...

Ster-Kinekor Terrible overall experience

We had booked tickets to see Dr Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness on the 15.4.2022 at 17:30.

To begin the movie was delayed by 10 mins

Then the movie switched off, and when it came back the 3D was not working and the movie proceeded to turn off 2x after that - for +- 5 minutes per time.

This was very upsetting as we had been so looking forward to the movie and by the end of the evening it was ruined.
