I visited Ster-Kinekor in Eastgate with my fiancé as I was vowing the country from United Kingdom the service was outrageous total unbelievably I purchased the tickets downstairs an hour before the move started
When I went back the lady by the name of Sthabile Sizani said I can’t go in as I was having some food I bought that I wanted to take home for my kids . I asked her why she just gave me an attitude said it’s the law it’s not the first time I have visited the cinema I had always carded my food she quickly said she is giving me my money back . She didn’t careless and she didn’t even listen to me . Up to now the refund she claims she did money is not reflecting on my account I have never seen such a poor service my whole entire life the attitude on it’s on is alarming . To her she thinks she is the owner . Sthabile doesn’t deserve to be a manager there not sure because am black that’s why she was treating me so badly the white guy who was in front of me had food in his hand nothing was said to him South Africa Eastgate sterkinekor would never recommend it to anyone ever

My high school son and his friend went to Ster kinekor in Tygervalley today to watch the meg. They were stopped at the door and asked for ID's. So the attendant took their tickets and gave them the alternative Barbie...for boys? The meg is about animals and Barbie has sex language in...so this is unacceptable ...I need answers URGENTLY or this will go to the media !

I ordered 2 movie tickets online on 24 July, for the Barbie movie for 25 July at the Mooirivier mall for 17h15. Row H 17-18, Cinema 4.
The payment was deducted twice from my credit card. An amount of R195 and R198.
I only received 1 OTP pin that I entered to finalize the payment.
Please refund the one payment.
On my app, at purchase history, it only shows one set of 2 full price tickets purchased for this movie at R198.

I booked 5 fast and furious 10 tickets plus popcorn online. The payment came off my bank account on the 19th of may 2023 but I never got confirmation. I called them 6 times only to hear everytime that they will escalate this to the finance department and when I called back eventually they said that the payment failed and it would take 24 to 72 hours for the money to be reversed into my account. It's now the 25th of may 2023 and the money is still not in my account. I called again and heard the same thing. I asked for a managers call and was promised one, but no one got back to me. I cannot fathom this. Ster kinekor is such a big company but are *****ing money from people's bank account? This is the worst company to deal with over the phone and online. If any money gets declined, it bounces back into your account the same time. How is it that it takes ster kinekor 24 to 72 hours even more than that to refund you the money. This is so stressful and I'm 8 months pregnant.

disturbance during a movie
hi my father and I went 2 nights ago 29-04-2023 to watch john wick and throughout the movie there was no problems. coming towards the end like around 45 minutes before the movie finished, 3 unmannerly boys that were drunk. I assume that they snuck into the movie because there was no interference before that. they came to our aisle and stepped on my father's foot which has caused some injury. They apologized afterwards by saying that it was the wrong aisle. after that they were sitting a row behind me and were making a noise and swearing out aloud in which the people behind them had told them that it's enough now and to keep quiet, my dad also got up and said that there were older people in the movie and we proceeded to leave because there was no sign of change after that.

The Movie was cut short due to technical errors
I was watching Creed 3 at Sterland Sterkinekor on the 28/04/2023, The movie was scheduled for 20:15.
Everything started well and the movie for 10 to 15 minutes and the screen went blank, it blank for about 2 to 3 minutes without anyone attending to the issue or any information being passed to is until one of us stood up and called one of the staff lady to come check it out.
Then lady said she's trying to reboot the movie but nothing happened. When i asked "where the technician was" I was told the technician is on leave and we were offered Readmission tickets.
There are many cost involved and it is unacceptable that we have to be told we can come back again to watch just because Sterkinekor could not provide me with the service they promised.

Good Afternoon,
A friend and i attended the V & A waterfront movies to watch Scream 6 last Saturday @ 14H45. Our movie experience was ruined by young kids that were allowed into this 18 year rated movie. The kids spent the entire movie screaming and shouting. We approached the gent that took that scanned our tickets and he blatantly ignored us. It expensive to go to the cinema now days but the to have the worst experiance due to minors being allowed is unacceptable.

I would like to lodge a complaint against Rustenburg Waterfall mall ster kinekor.
I booked 2 tickers for me and my daughter online to watch the 10:15 Supermario 3D show for Friday 7 April.
I added onto our booking a combo deal for her and did the payment online.
When we got to the ster kinekor on Friday, the doors was open 9:45 so we entered to get ready for our movie. The lady advised
That they are closed till 10 I must please wait outside. I went back outside and waited till 10. When we entered 10 am , the lady says
I must take a seat its to early she is not going to help me now. We took a seat and waited patiently while they all stood around on their phones till
10:08. When we finally went back to get assisted with our glasses and combo, I wanted to add on to my booking with more popcorn in which the lady said she can not help me I have to go back online and order more popcorn. I could not access the website insite the ster kinekor as the signal was bad so I went in with just 1 combo. We finally entered at 10:18. When the movie started , the lights was left on and we could not see a thing on the screen. I walked back out and asked if someone may kindly switch of the lights. They assisted me, I missed 10 minutes of the movie in doing so. When we finally got back and ready to watch, the 3d movie was not working properly. The entire movie was showing in a blur. You could not see a single thing of the movie. I got back up again and asked someone to assist. They called the technician but nobody could fix the problem. My daughter has contact lenses in and since you can not see anything I thought I will get up and go. The was another family that left as well.
This was by far the worst cinema experience I have ever had. And to think I had to pay to not even be able to see a movie.
Please look into this.

SSW Treats customers like a criminal after Stek Kinekor system failure, no accountability
Paid for movie booking online. Transaction showed approved on banking app. Proceeded to drive to cinema, but upon arrival noticed I still haven't received booking ref / seat no. Tried for 20+ minutes to retrieve info from Ster Kinekor systems, then power went off. Tried using mall wifi thinking my mobile data is problematic with no e-mails received from Ster Kinekor, then tried Hungry Lion Wifi, still with no success. There was no ticket linking on my ccard, but showed the cinema staff the deduction on my account.
After standing in line for 15 more minutes to get my refreshments I eventually was allowed to sit down in the movie already running for 20+ minutes by now. Then a staff member decided to come search for me as if searching for a criminal in the cinema trying to force me to leave the theater and pay once again because the amount indicated "uncleared" on my ccard, as it did with the refreshments which I paid for with a separate transaction which went through.
Even this transaction showed "uncleared" on my account and I told them not I or them have knowledge about how the banking system works, but they got fixated on the 'uncleared' word underneath the transaction and spoiled the experience even further and only left the cinema after I started getting irate and spoiling the experience for other movie goers apart from the humiliation I was put through.
Then to avoid being locked up like a criminal in case they feel justified in calling the police I booked and paid for another ticket at double the price, as this was a valentines day showing. Singling out a man who went there alone by female staff on a power trip perhaps. After the movie I was taken to the managers office and corrected on my incorrect use of a Xhosa greeting in singular form instead of plural. Instead of apologizing for the negative experience the staff member mumbled how I probably bought the second ticket while in the cinema (even though I already paid for a ticket for the same movie already).
After all the drama I was only able to start focusing on the movie for the last few minutes and missed most of it. Horrible experience, but had to work in the film industry early the next morning, so I didn't want to waste more time in the managers office the evening. No sense of customer experience or accountability. Treating a customer like a criminal until proven innocent. Now I have to waste hours going into the bank for a statement in order to prove my initial purchase before returning for the second booking for the same movie for which I was told "we'll see" (if I'd be allowed to watch it as if I'm trying to scam the cinema).
Desired outcome: Refund the second ticket and pay for my refreshments (for the 2nd booking) and give me access to see the movie properly from start to finish. An apology for being wrong and treating me like a criminal would be nice also.

So we walk into the cinema and as we walk in someone shouts at me from the side. So I turn around and look at your staff member and she looks at me with total disgust on her face because I didnt say hello to her immediately. I told her that we already have tickets and she told me to follow her after dragging her feet past me like it is way too much work to serve a customer. This is disgusting behaviour and complete uncalled for and unacceptable. I will NOT support you anymore.

The app doesn't work I can't make booking and have been struggling with this since last month I can not pay R269 and still are unable to book movies. Every time I try to book a movie, they continue to charge me even though I am paying for the Family package. I will need I refund of the debit order that went off on the 15th of Jan as I am not able to use this package. Funny fact is that the debit order goes off without any struggle but need help or try to use this package that I pay for, then it's only struggles. This can not continue. I am totally disappointed in SK, I will require I refund for the debit order as I can not use this package. And I will also like to cancel my subscription as this is a useless deal... I expect response before close of business today the 25th of Jan 2023 or I will be taking matters further. I can not pay this amount of money and then can't even book the movies that I have paid for... This is unacceptable!

Shocking pro-LGBTQ KIA advert before a children's movie
We were shocked as parents to see a 9 minute long KIA pro-LGBTQ advert before a children's movie (Puss n boots 2) in December 2022 at Cedar Square, Fourways.
This is pure indoctrination and grooming of innocent young minds. It has no place in our society. We pre-screen movies carefully by using sites like IMDBs parental guides and then we get blindsided by adverts!
Ster Kinekor warns viewers of PG ratings, but then (without warning) exposes viewers to such unashamed nonsense. This is unacceptable and should be stopped... or where else will they draw the name of making money!
Desired outcome: Retract the KIA advert and implement measures to prevent a similar event in future
No refund after a month of waiting
We went to watch Avatar at Ster Kinekor in Polokwane on the 21st of December 2022. They had issues with generators and could not watch Avatar. They offered a voucher but we just passed through Polokwane so I requested a refund instead. The refund still have not happened. Ster Kinekor will not see me again. Absolutely poor services from both Polokwane and Customer Service. I was promised a follow up with the branch manager in Polokwane. I want my money back. I was advised 5 working days. It’s almost being a month. Quick to take your money but when it comes to refunds it take weeks and weeks.

We missed half an hour of our movie 16:45 show Puss in Boots as the service at the snack station is POOR and after ordering online we stood in the que for 40 minutes before getting infront. Then it rook them 19 minutes to get a regular coke, popcorn and astros. How is this allowed? Paying for seeing half a movie because of worst service ever. My husband and son went to see Avatar at Ster Kinekor Bayside Table View, Cape Town today Tuesday the 03 th Jan. 23. My son was told he would have to pay the full price of the ticket today is half price day! As his card could not be read, was not showing up on their system. My husbands card was fine.
They weren't willing to call the Manager [not sure there is actually one there] and then the person assisting them walked away and didn't come back they then had to look for someone else to assist them to purchase the ticket.
Then to make this situation even better! I called the call centre and was cut off 2 times the third time the consultant just put me on hold and didn't come back to me. Does this sound familiar? exactly what happened at the movie.. and then I tried 3 more times and just got a beeping sound.
If this is the type of service we are going to be getting from Ster Kinekor is it worth paying our good hard earned money to go and see movies on so called discount days and then have to pay full price... I think its time to look for alternative ways to watch movies
Dirty cinema 4 Cradlestone 2/1/2023 13.30 pm show
I was horrified to notice , the above movie house was not cleaned from the previous show at 11 am . Left over drinks and popcorn not thrown away . The toilets were in a state , not cleaned ,papers all over the floor . We asked for a drink , no one was available to service us . It seems to me there is a shortage of staff and the staff on duty have a casual attitude.

On the 29th I took my grand daughter to go and see avatar in 2 d at the greenstone shopping centre for the 11.00 movies and as a movie expercinse is not the same without having your popcorn and cold drink so I bought a double up for the R185.00 so that we both could have our own and just as we where about to collect our popcorn load shedding kicked in and the place was in darkness.
We were all directed to the counter where the staff appoligised and gave us a complimentry voucher in exchange for our purchased tickets but we did not get a voucher for the popcorn and cold drink that we had purchased and when I enquired the lady said sorry but there is not vouchers for that so I had lost out
Today we went back to go and watch the avatar movie with the comps that we received yesterday and again I had asked about the voucher for the popcorn cold drink voucher and got the same reply so I had to purchace another popcorn cold drink at R185.00
As a pensioner not received a lot of money from sassa I feel ripped of due to this and I know its not your fault that there was load shedding but I feel that the popcorn cold drink should of also been given a voucher as it was on the ticket
Desired outcome: policy change that if a movie voucher is given out due to load shedding it should include the popcorn drink package that was bought and that i receive my voucher for the next movie I go and see
