We were skeptical about refacing our kitchen cabinets but got sucked into the Windows Store booth at the MPLS Home & Garden show
We were skeptical about refacing our kitchen cabinets but got sucked into the Windows Store booth at the MPLS Home & Garden show. They came out quickly, within a week to give us an on-site consultant. They ended up refacing our existing kitchen cabinets and added new cabinets on a bare wall to provide more storage and to "frame-in" the Fridge so it looks more like it belongs. The design consultant was fantastic and he came well prepared. We had a very unique layout and he was pretty excited about how well everything would turn out and offered suggestions on what he felt would look good. The installation was pretty quick for our small kitchen, 3-days in total, and the team was thorough and brought us it in when a decision was needed. Overall, the experience was positive and we are more than happy with how everything turned out. Even our Granite & Tile Contractor made comments about how well everything turned out. I would recommend the Reface Experts and honestly, I think I would look at refacing before going all new.
The Window Store folks replaced many of the windows in our home and we are very happy with the result
The Window Store folks replaced many of the windows in our home and we are very happy with the result. The installer was amazing-he was essentially a one man wonder who did the job nearly single handed. He was polite, reliable, communicated well when delays occurred and was highly skilled. Our rating is 4 rather than 5 stars because communication with the main office was not as effective as it should be. There were significant delays in the project- likely due to covid- but we were not kept updated about progress and when we contacted the store- the recorded phone message told us to expect up to a 3 day turnaround for phone messages. It took several weeks to complete this project when the original estimate was for 1.5 days. Some interior parts were not ordered at the beginning, so there was a long wait for the interior work to be completed. However, the windows are very nice and we would use this company again. Two of the windows were not quite up to standard and the company immediately recognized that and have reordered replacements. For us, this is the most critical part of good service- quality control and responsiveness. The Window Store gets high marks for that!
We used The Window Store in the past and did not hesitate to use again for our basement windows. They remembered us and even gave us repeat customer pricing, which saved some money. The install was seamless and professional all the way. They even played catch with my dog! Highly recommend!
Overall the process of buying the windows was great. The windows came in ahead of schedule which was great. Our only issue was with rescheduling the install after an issue with the installers truck. The installer Dan was able to come out on the weekend to start the work. We also had another issue with the wrong color trim being provided, but Dan was able to get the right materials a few days later. Dan was professional and the windows look great.
Satisfaction Plus Plus !
Satisfaction Plus Plus ! We had our honey oak kitchen cabinets refaced with The Window Store. This company is awesome in every way! The salesman, Mike *** was thorough and honest in his description of the scope of the project and how our expectations could be met. He gave me as much time as I needed to make a very difficult decision on which cabinet style to choose. And, the day after signing the contract I changed my mind on the cabinet color and he was very gracious and accepting of my decision. The guy who came out to make the detailed drawings was meticulous and insured us that some of our modifications could be realized. But the true STAR of the company is the installer - Jon ***! He is a professional in every sense of the word. His 20+ years of experience is evident in the finished product - every piece fits seamlessly, all the corners are mitered perfectly, every door is square. His work ethic and high standards, in addition to his attention to detail was paramount in making our finished product look so amazing. We could not be happier with the results and would recommend The Window Store to anyone interested in updating a kitchen. A Superior Job done by a Superior Company!
The process of purchasing windows from The Window Store went very well. From scheduling the appointment with a sales representative, to scheduling window measuring, to the window installation, to putting the final trim on the windows inside and out was a smooth process. The personnel were very friendly and knowledgeable about the product and willing to do what was needed to give me a finished product. The process began when I called The Window Store and talked to Laura who set up an appointment for me to visit with Jacob in March 2022. Jacob showed up and told me about the windows and which ones would be the best for my house. He also explained to me about their word of mouth program or Advertising Agreement that would help in lowering the cost of the windows. They would take before and after pictures of my windows to show the final product and the difference their windows made in increasing the value of my home. I decided to purchase the windows. Jacob said that the windows would not be ready until the end of June, beginning of July. I thought that would be fine. I then scheduled an appointment for the following week for an employee to come out and measure for my new windows. I received a call from Hailey to schedule an appointment for the installation of my new windows. After several rounds of phone tag we finally connected. She wanted to set up a time to install my windows, this was at the end of April beginning of May. 2 months earlier than expected. Windows were installed mid May. Izzy was the main installer with another installer and they did a very nice job. They finished installing the windows on Friday and would come back on Monday to finish putting the outside trim on the windows. Needed to allow for the foam insulation time to harden and set before putting the final outside trim on the windows. I was not happy about how the window sill area and trim looked for my front window. Izzy mentioned that sanding down the area and painting it the tri
It has almost been one month since our new doors and windows were completed and we are still amazed at our homes new look. Extremely satisfied with the workmanship and customer service. From the first phone call to the final walk through the process went smoothly. We were kept informed throughout the entire project. The Window Store team, sales representative, scheduler, individual who measured our doors and window and the installers were knowledgeable and personable. The installers took pride in the work they did. At the end of each day the work area was left clean, they answered all our questions. I love coming home each day and seeing our new look. I highly recommend The Window Store, Inc.
I was very satisfied with my Window Store installation. Ron was wonderful. He did everything outside in the middle of a garden. Not one plant was stepped on. My window looks great. Not only did Ron install the window, he fixed other issues I had with 2 windows (my fault, not the windows). I would recommend The Window Store.
Incredibly rude and rip off artists
Incredibly rude and rip off artists. I had never bought a home before, therefore never made improvements before. Sean, the salesman gave me the 'today's the day deal'...which meant I couldn't do research, I thought. Long story, short, I was overcharged by 1000's for a small kitchen cabinet reface. Secondly, 'Oren', not sure his role, but he was extremely rude over the phone. I was having the installers showing up w/out all the materials needed because Julian, (cust service, lol), was not telling the crew what to bring. I had a very hard time understanding 'Julian', w/ a very thick accent. Open told me Julian speaks perfect English and to respect his employees...lol...Trying to call me a bigot or something...the worker said if Julian speaks clearer than Oren's friends, then I want to know who his friends are ! The point is, is that Julian didn't bother to tell the worker what he needed to bring. The installer is EXCELLENT, Julian is not. The installer brought me match paint to help me out, but Julian told me that's extra and to go to HomeDepot. This is a family owned business...I've worked for family owned businesses many times...its not fun. The Window Store should brush up on manners. I WAS going to give more work to them, but not now, not ever.
We replaced the windows in the entire house and I was very pleased with the entire process. The installers showed up on time and got right to work. Everything looks and works great. They clean as they go and were very efficient. It was really nice working with a smaller, local company because everyone I spoke with was on the same page. I would trust this company agan.
Final 4 windows replaced today. We had a bunch done by The Window store a few years back. Couldn't be happier with the end results. Windows came much sooner than expected and our installer Ron was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Windows came in earlier than expected. Everyone I dealt on the phone with from the in house staff to the installer- (Ron) were pleasant to work with. The windows turned out great. Just had half the windows replaced and will have them install the rest at a later date. I could not have ask for a better experience.
From start to finish, the entire process went through smooth
From start to finish, the entire process went through smooth. In January 2022, we were approached by a sales man the same day we had a different company come out for a window bid, so it was perfect timing. We set up an appointment with The Window Store for the following week, and we were greeted by Jacob. He was very professional and honest. He did not try to sell us on anything that we were not interested in, which was a great relief. He talked us into a better window options for our main windows, which now that they're installed we have no regrets. We were also given an offer we could not pass up. Our window project was projected for the end of May - beginning of June, for 8 windows. We received a call at the end of April,2022 to schedule the install. Install took about 10 hours which was no big deal to us, as we were able to still go about our tasks for the day. Our contractor Ron, was on time, and worked in a timely manner. He kept us in the loop with the progress and was a great chat. When Ron was done with the install of the windows he had come in and did the install of all of our important smoke detectors and made sure that we had current Co2 sensors in important parts of our home. I would recommend this company to everyone! I know if we have any other projects that need to be done, we WILL be calling The Window Store Inc. again!
Two Thumbs Up!
Two Thumbs Up! We had 13 window replaced. All were original from 1972 when house was built. The new windows look and work fabulous. Howie G was a great salesman who explained everything clearly and without sales pressure. Best part was he brought cutaway sample of a window to show its construction and features. None of the other companies we looked at did that. Installation was well done, cleanup good, attention to detail excellent. In fact... we had a poorly, improperly finished window downstairs which made the new install / finishing problematic. But the installer actually went out on his own to find / buy a piece of trim not intended for a window, but could be used in this situation to trim out the inside of the window. It looks great after he finished; better than the original. When we looked at and compared the price and product we got from the window store we found that we got a Premium product for the same or lower cost than the other companies / offerings we looked at. The other windows quoted were either entry grade or mid grade windows. I appreciate the fact that the Window Store only offers one grade / price of window. They build and sell the Best / Premium product period, no lower cheaper options. The Window Store and Howie G was recommended to me by my son and his in-laws; both purchased windows and were very happy. You can add myself to that list.
We needed to have a roof replaced due to its age
We needed to have a roof replaced due to its age. We called the Window Store to get an estimate and they were very prompted at sending a salesperson out. The estimate was a little higher then most, but if what they promised was correct it would be well worth the cost. The day the roof was to be installed was questionable for possible rain, their office called the day before the installation and said they were going to delay the install by one day to avoid any possibility of having a chance of moisture getting under the new roof. The crew arrived very early on the appointed day and started on the new roof. During the process, I did not see anyone of the crew taking any shortcuts. All of the material was exactly as quoted and the workmanship was outstanding. The crew worked all day at a steady pace until the job was completed. I can not stress enough how professional and knowledgeable the crew was. The clean up was very meticulous and we did not find many old nails laying around. The new roof looks outstanding and the colors in the shingles are just perfect. All of the ridgelines are extremely straight and the whole roof is laying very flat. The crew added two additional turbine vents that none of the previous roofers mentioned were needed. Everything was done exactly as the said and there were no hidden costs or other additional charges. I would give this company 5 stars for this project and would recommend them to others. Extremely satisfied with the whole process. Jim *** Maplewood, MN.
We had two windows installed in 2017
We had two windows installed in 2017. Both were very nice. In May we ordered the remaining seven (7) windows for the house. Dealing with the same person to measure the windows and to install them in 2017, I requested the same people in 2021. Previously I had ordered a half screen for the smaller of the windows in 2017. Seeing the new windows with a full screen I placed an order for a replacement screen to match the 2021 install. We paid an additional $55.00 for a 23x17 screen. When the screen was installed by the tech, I told him it was wrong and he replied, "I only do installs". A month or two passed when family members were saying the new screen was an eyesore compared to the other new screens. I contacted TWS and left a message because they never answer the phones. They apparently work from voice mails and emails. I was told the window in question was no longer made by Alside and the screen they sent had to have the bar in the middle. All the new windows have full screens with no bar. Now, if the window is no longer available, how was the screen available or did they just make up any old screen. They did not want to resolve this issue with making a screen to fit this window to match the others next to it. They also charges us for a tempered window in the kitchen. Our inspector said it did not have to be tempered. I asked for a refund of the difference. Time will tell if that ever happens. These last actions from TWS and Alside have tainted my relationship with TWS. I would recommend them but caution anyone to be watching every move they make. I am still not satisfied with the screen and will find my own solution as long as they were not willing to work with me to find a matching screen.

I would give the window store negative stars if possible
I would give the window store negative stars if possible. I've had the worst possible contractor experience with them on a kitchen refacing project. They came out to work on the project with the install timeline of a week. They guaranteed that everything needed to complete the job was in stock and available. Unfortunately, by the end of the week, they said my style of countertop wasn't available and asked if I'd accept another style. The lazy Susan door was also incorrectly ordered and had holes drilled in the opposite direction that were needed. After accepting the timeline for a new door and agreeing to a new countertop style, they brought out the countertop/embedded sink the next week and promptly snapped it in half during the install. Fast-forward another month and they finally installed the countertop/sink. Unfortunately, there was gaps in multiple places between the countertop and cabinets. We also noticed some sub-standard work on trim pieces and paint runs in other trim pieces that were used anyways. I discussed these items with the countertop installer, and he assured me that the install coordinator would be in contact with us to get these fixed. We never heard anything from him. When I was able to discuss with him on the phone, he said this was the first he heard of it and nothing had been ordered for the repairs. Fast forward 6 more weeks. Another installer came out to make the repairs. Unfortunately, the lazy Susan door still had holes drilled in the incorrect place. We choose to finish the project with the understanding that they would discount our project for all the hassles that they caused over the past 3 months. The installer collected 90% of the remaining balance with 10% outstanding. However, they sent us a bill in the mail for the remaining 10% and pretended like nothing happened, and delays are normal - essentially trying to gaslight us into believing that this happens all the time and it wasn't their fault because of supply chain issues.
The short and sweet review: 2 of our 4 new windows were installed with cracks and it's been four months and they haven't been fixed
The short and sweet review: 2 of our 4 new windows were installed with cracks and it's been four months and they haven't been fixed. We were also told that we needed to order tempered glass windows for our front 2 windows. Turns out they don't need to be tempered. Turns out we paid for tempered glass but it wasn't actually installed. The office also sucks at returning phone calls. The detailed story if you care to know more: My husband and I were approached by a door-to-door representative from The Window Store back in March . We set up a meeting with someone after looking into the company and reading the reviews. After our meeting with Aaron, we decided to start with purchasing 4 windows. We were offered a promotional price and liked that they are a MN business and offered a life-time warranty on their windows. We were aware that it would take some time to get our windows installed due to Covid and were pleasantly surprised when they notified us that the windows could be installed at the end of May. The contractors showed up and removed our old windows. Then, when they went to put the new windows in, they realized there were cracks in two of the four windows. At this point, we decided to move forward with having them put the new windows in despite the cracks because we were told that the panes of glass would be really easy to have switched out. It was a Friday before a holiday weekend so the contractors said they would let the office know that they would need to order new panes on Tuesday. We called at the end of that next week to make sure that the new panes were ordered and were told that they had not, as the contractors had not been into the office, but that the office would get the order started. We clarified which which two windows needed to be fixed. Several weeks later, we called to make sure that the order had been placed. We left a message at the office as no one had picked up. That phone call was never returned. Again, after another week or so, we called again and were told that yes, the order had been placed on June 23, almost a month after the windows were initially installed. Being told the pieces were ordered, we figured it might take some time to get. At the end of August, we call the office to get an update on our order since it had been two months and we hadn't heard anything. Again, that call went unreturned. At this point, we reached out to Aaron, who had come to our home and sold us the windows. Aaron promptly returned our call and the very next day the office called to say they had our order. The following week they came out to switch out the cracked pieces. They showed up with only one pane. We were told that there was only one pane on our order. We reached out to Aaron again, and he made sure the other pane was ordered. On 9/23, Aaron called to say our pane was in and that he would have the office call me on 9/24. On 9/24 and 9/25, Aaron reached out to see if the office had contacted us to arrange a time to come out. As of today, 9/29, the office still hasn't reached out. Additionally, we had scheduled for the city inspector to come out after we had arranged for them to come out and fix what we thought would be both cracked windows. The inspector looked at the front window and explained what the requirements are for having tempered glass. We were told by The Window Store that we would need both front windows to be tempered. However, the inspector stated that we did not meet the necessary requirements to have to have tempered glass. We were also informed that front windows that were installed were not tempered. According to the order form, tempered windows were ordered and when we ordered them we knew they were more expensive. We reached out to the Window Store regarding this. They said they could refund us $120. We asked for a cost break-down of our order so we could see the numbers for ourselves. We were then told that because we got our windows as part of a promotion, the actual cost would probably be less than $120 and if they looked at the cost break-down they would probably only be able to refund us the actual amount. We said that that was fine but that we needed to see a copy of our order. They got back to us and said that no cost-break down of our order exists and that the current price of windows was not what they were back when we ordered ours and again said they could refund us $120. How does a company not have a detailed receipt of an order? How does a company not return phone calls? How does a company tell a customer a tempered glass window was ordered but that was not actually what was installed? How does a company allow contractors to remove windows before inspecting the new ones for defects? We need atleast 8 more new windows but we sure as heck will not be using The Window Store and have told friends and family the same. I'm sure if the windows are installed without issues, people will have no problem. But that has not been our experience. The lifetime warranty is seems great, but it will take a freaking lifetime to have any issues resolved.

My windows were installed in a professional manner. Much care was taken. Also, they were careful about not making a mess without cleaning up. All questions were answered. I am happy and thankful to have the job done.
The process was simple. The installers were neat clean and on time . My windows look very nice and my house is much quieter
I recommend the window store. They replace a window for me and the new custom-made window fit like a glove. The installers were very professional. made sure everything was done right. the window operates very well. It looks like the house was built with it. I'm happy with their window.
