Customer service
Trying to add my card to my phone
for Apple Pay. I am on hold for. Few minutes before an employee answered. This guys absolutely did not care about his job. Literally saying he likes calls like mine because it is the only time he is useful. He agreed that Truist customer service is the worst. He then told me they need my security #. I wouldn’t trust this guys with my Wendy’s order let alone my bank account number or social security. We will

Fraudulent activity on my account
I’ve written a comment about two weeks ago telling that my bank account was hacked and Truist won’t refund me back the zelle payments which is $2,800 I have never used zelle. And the lady I spoke to just took it off of my banking app and that’s all she did. I’ve called every day, and you have to wait 4 hours to even speak to someone. I even contacted...

I use your on line banking and have had an account wit BB&T for 9 years and never had a payee just removed from my accounts and you didn’t pay it! This is my car finance co. Which because I had it on a recurring payment I don’t usually even look at the bill. However I happen to look this month and I see you didn’t pay last month’s payment. I checked my account only to find that the payee was no longer listed and no payment was made! This is very dangerous because they could have reposed the car and I wouldn’t be able to stop them! I want to know how this happened and what you are going to do to prevent it from happening again?! And why don’t you have email where I can contact you directly your call center sucks and one day they kept cutting me off and I spent hours trying to resolve a problem!
Desired outcome: I want to know how this could happen and what will be done to protect my payees!!! GET AN EMAIL CUSTOMER SERVICE SET UP CALL CENTERS SUCK!!!!!
Fraud Claims
My business checking account's debit card was recently compromised and $1050 in purchases through Facebook were made from March 18 through the 20th, 2022. After a week of waiting and back-and-forth which included over 4 hours' total hold time on the phone, I was told that my claim was DENIED. After 5 years with BB&T/Truist it's time for me to find another bank.
Desired outcome: I want my money back!
Truist
I used to have suntrust and never had any issues, suntrust has been taken over by truist and since the change I can not receive money through Zelle even though it shows I have an active account. I also cant instant transfer funds from paypal. I have called several times and the wait time is between 40 min to 1 hour! Essentially this bank's customer service is useless. I will be switching banks asap!
Hi i have some one thats works there i can get you to their customer service
5 digit positive accessable balance in bb&t yet in 6 + months since truist & hours on hold. No functioning debit card &no help
I'M in Germany. US Gov./MIL Community, My home town Bank has changed hands several times. Never a checking account/ Debit Card problem - until BB&T changed (name) to TRUIST. Now 6 + months, a 'dozen' Ph call at my expense, hours mostly HOLD at my expense .. I have talked with many TRUIST call center service Rep. Yet the only constant is a waste of my time effort No functioning simple Debit Card so I can access my $ 5 figure ie 10,000.00 + available balance account.
Desired outcome: I want a functioning Debit Card And someone needs to Sue / puni$h Truist Bank. I did not ask to bank with Truist ... IT was simply forced on me I'm sure it's no service solution are intentional. I'm from & Hometown branch is in PA

Wire transfer
I settled on a home and the wire transfer took 7 days to appear in my account. To top it off, the money went to my line of credit account. After being on hold for 1.5 hours, the representative put in the request to have the money moved to my checking account. She said it would take up to 3 business days- and there was no way to expedite this process. Well, I am now on day four and the money has not been transferred. My lline of credit has a negative balance so there is no way I could have made the transfer between accounts myself.
Desired outcome: Transfer the money into my checking account!
Auto loan
We had our Auto loan through Suntrust for the last 2 years with no issues and it was auto-drafted monthly. This month we received a statement from Truist stating to pay the Auto loan to them. So, we setup an online account with Truist to start the auto-draft through them. Payment comes out on the 20th of the month for $690. Check my bank account and they've drafted it twice! Over-drafting my account for $500 dollars! I spend 30 minutes on hold this morning (3/25/22) and finally get a person. I'm told that I'll have to wait 7 to 10 business days to receive the overpayment of $690! This is completely unacceptable! Why did they send a statement if they were still continuing with the auto-draft from Suntrust?
Absolutely horrible customer service! So I'm out $690 for almost 2 weeks because they don't know how to do business! If I could move the loan from them I would!
Desired outcome: Want my refund immediately, not wait 7 to 10 days because of your screw up.
Poor customer service
Have been calling for 3 days and have yet to speak with a human. My Mortgage was with BB&T for 16 years without any communication issues here in South Carolina. Truist Bank takes over my Mortgage and customer communication is non existent. There is absolutely nothing I trust with Truist. I will continue to pay my mortgage to the agreed upon contract with BB&T until such time I receive notice from anyone from BB&T original office here in South Carolina.
Desired outcome: I want to speak to a human a Southern human with Truist
Account services
Continue to charge me insufficient funds when I keep calling them to fix it. It's been 5 months since I call them every month and get same results were sorry it's been taken care of and it won't happen again. Well for 5 months I've been nothing but negative. I've decided to leave this bank and close my account because I can't keep calling every month and asking to keep my money because they only fix part of the issue and I have to keep paying.
Desired outcome: Fix the issues. It's more work to close the accounts I have especially in my situation.

mortgage
We have had our mortgage with BB&T for over 10 years and we have NEVER been late on a mortgage payment - it's auto deducted from our other bank account every month.
I received a letter in the mail from TRUIST stating our March pmt has not been received and that we owe double in April.
Our march pmt was auto deducted on 3/11 as it is every month!
What the HELL is going on? Just because BB&T changes to TRUIST (and doesn't notify your customers of such) doesnt mean you can screw up our accounts !
40 minute wait time to talk to someone on the phone right now.
THis is ridiculous!

customer service
On hold for 2 hours still didn't get to talk to anyone. Their investigation into my fraud complaint was a 2 line letter saying they investigated no details just more or less suck it up. Then on hold for over 2 hours and then hung up on.
My deposits at this time are very small however I will be signing off on significant settlement next month and those fund will be going to my new bank. This is the second time I have had an issue with your "new" merge and you have only transitioned for a month. If you werent ready to make the transition you should have waited.
Desired outcome: explanation of their "investigation" nothing you have shown you were not ready for the transition. Addtionally it is frightening that there are so many fraud claims that someone is on hold for 2 hours
I just found out that my SunTrust bank card has been blocked. Truist indicates that a new card was sent out, I have not received a new card how can they void my my Suntrust card which is still valid I live out of country I was basically told I can still use checks which is not an option here Ylou would think that whoever is organiting this goat rope would of that when the new card is activated then the old card would be voided. In addition I was advised that the could not reverse the void (if you voided the then they should be able to un-void the card). Never had these problems under SunTrust
Telephone hold times and music
Ive tried to make a payment to my business credit card I cancelled two years ago, yesterday, when it was due, i was on hold for 3 hours and finally gave up. Now a day late, ive been on hold an hour and a half...IS ANYBODY WORKING?
Automated billing, chat/help, customer service, online banking
The switch from Suntrust to Truist has been problematic. I don't have time to go into ALL the details, but today's issue started when I needed to cancel an autopay for that should process TOMORROW. It's processing today instead, apparently. Where there should be two options: Change and Cancel, there is one word: processing, and no option to access anything. So, chat with an associate, right? WRONG. the option is greyed out and unavailable. So, we'll do the DREADED THING and make a phone call, sit through all the options, and finally hear that we're being connected to a representative. Only the wait time is over an hour and you're disconnected long before that hour is through. SO THAT'S NOT AN OPTION EITHER.
And when they made the switch from Suntrust to Truist? They told everyone they would eliminate our fees from that weekend, since depositing money was impossible. I had to contact them twice before it occurred, finally. And now I've used *my* "free pass" for the next few months, even though it wasn't my mistake, so I doubt I can have them remove the fee this time.
Needless to say, we are switching to a credit union, or an app like Chime. It's all numbers on a screen and Truist behaves as though they have to manually transfer gold bullion to another state for the funds to transfer.
I just learned that they are actually BB&T, which explains a lot. We've had trouble and left them in the past. They haven't learned their lessons yet, apparently. But we have. Bye, Truist.
Desired outcome: We want Suntrust back, but that isn't happening, so avoiding the fees they overcharge would be nice.

Hello,
My name is Charlene Morris. My Husband and I was at this location on 03/23/2022. The time was 3:40pm. The lady at the drive through and Samantha Maddra was both busy helping another customer. My husband and I was next in line to be serve, when the other lady ( I don't know her name, ) finish with her customer instead of helping my husband and I. She help the gentle behind us in line. I told her we just needed to close my husband account. The lady stated we only have one person in the front she can't help you, have a seat we will help you soon as we can. She then help the gentle standing in line behind us. She suppose to service the next customer in line. She clearly could see we was there before the gentle standing behind us. I have business account and personal account with Truist. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is why companies are folding. You need to train your employee on Customer service. My email is [protected]@gmail.com. My phone number is [protected]
Online banking
I am/was a Suntrust customer and had no problems accessing my online account or contacting them via webchat etc. Now I cannot access my account online since the merger. I live in the UK so visiting a branch is not an option. Phone contact is very difficult. I would like to email them but that appears impossible.
Desired outcome: I would like to be able to access my account.
Can not get in touch with a customer service rep via phone and bank is short staffed and no one can help me there.
I have had some fraudulent activity on my account, and it is impossible to get in touch with anyone when calling there 844 number or their fraud number.
The banks are understaffed, and no one picks up the line.
My account is now over drafted, and I went into the bank yesterday and manager was busy, and no one could help. I wanted to make a cash deposit for the overdraft but the manager called me after the bank closed and they blocked my card so I could not do it via ATM.
I was supposed to see the manager today for her to help me and when calling this morning was told she would be out for the week and Brian could help me.
When I went in Brian was only there for the day and they were understaffed so no one could help me.
Brian gave me a number to try and after discussing my situation and fraud on my account after 45 mins she hung up and just transferred me to the branch I was at this morning.
I have not been able to get any help for 3 weeks.
I never had problems when it was BB&T now, they are understaffed, and I can't get anyone to help me.
Desired outcome: Please refund me for all overdrafts. I had fraud and no one could help me yesterday in the bank or via phone so now I have more overdrafts.
Truist/BB&T sucks, 60+ minute wait on phone yelded a timeout hang up without an answer. We will never do business with Truist in the future, it was bad enough as BB&T and Suntrust. Warn everyone this company is BAD...
