Attempting to use Venmo to send money to my business partner, as I am not near the bank and cannot wire the money.
1) the transaction gets declined without any reason for it.
2) more attempts end with the same, but apparently it was for a security flag so now it locks the card for a while to use venmo.
3) on the phone with a customer service rep and we get everything done through the actual bank account, but about 10 minutes later I get a notification that it was returned by venmo
4) go through the process of the bank/venmo again and it's rejected due to another security flag
5) no one can tell me what the security flag is so no one can fix it, override it, fix the glitch so it doesn't happen again
6) no one can put me in contact with anyone that can help
7) suggestions given are to wait for a couple of hours or up to 2 days and try it again... but not guarantee it won't happen again since no one can tell my why it happened this time. Or use a different method other than venmo.
Completely horrible ability for aiding. It's not the customer service reps fault, but they are completely useless if they can't help you, look at what is happening, or send you to someone that can help. They tell me that it's all automated so there's nothing for them to see or do. The fact is: automation is written by people, and people monitor the automation. Therefore there is someone that can help, but they won't.
Desired outcome: The ladder has to go far enough up that issues can be resolved.
I had the same thing happen with the same results. I even contacted their Corporate office and still, no one could answer why or fix it. I was trying to add funds to send to my Granddaughter and needed them in Venmo right away. Their rep told me to initiate the bank transfer but it would take 5 days. I'm not sure what about "needed right away" she didn't understand but when I said 5 days didn't work for me she told me to borrow it from a friend or family member! (who would say that to a customer) That is exactly what my granddaughter was trying to do (borrow from me) but it kept getting blocked and no one could tell me why. I had transferred funds just days before from the exact same account with no issue, yet suddenly, I could not and no one can explain! Auggggh! Outraged is an understatement!
