So I called to cancel my dumpster because they have been raising their rates every three months for the last five years. My contract expired 16 months ago. I just have not got around to canceling. Then of course they charged me an overage charge that cost more than three months service for one pick up. This got me very mad that I was going to just go ahead and cancel them. Many of my other friends with dumpsters said that they have a great local service that does not have a contract and their price is half the price of Waste Management. When you call Waste Management to cancel they put you on hold for 45 minutes to an hour. You talk to one person and they say they have to transfer you to their senior advisor. The senior advisor thinks he has tactics of keeping you. This probably happens to some people, but when you are fed up with them like I am, I just want to cancel. They then put you on hold for 45 minutes again. They looked up my contract that expired 16 months ago and said if I do not respond to the contract, they automatically renew it for three years. I told them to come get their dumpster out of my parking lot this week. It should not be this hard to cancel a service. This is probably one of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with. I have a feeling that my dumpster is not going to get picked up this week and I’m going to have to call 2 to 3 more times. I hope someone from Waste Management reads this and maybe you can keep some other customers. I’m done.
