VIP membership charge
I purchased 1item from this outfit and ended up with a VIP transaction on my discover card monthly I did not notice this charge for at least 2years! I did not authorize any sort of “membership” to this company. It had be wrapped up with the one transaction. As a result I will never have anything todo with them and will everything I can do to alert people to this crummy outfit!
Claimed loss: Approximately $400
Desired outcome: Refund of these charges

2nd day delivery
I ordered as small bottle of De-Mite from Whateverworks, since it was one of very few in the Google search results that could deliver right away -- or so their website claims. But after 2 days (not counting holiday and weekend) passed by and I still had no box from them, I called the customer support line to ask what was going on. I was given this yarn about the order being stuck in the system and something incoherent about 'fraud'. I was directed to Level 2 support which I called the next day, At least the Level 2 agent was able to explain the 'fraud' bit -- it was just the name of the queue, it did not imply fraud on anyone's behalf.
Unfortunately, the Level 2 CSR failed, too. After promising he could and would get the order, K9946958, out of the queue and on to the actual shipment. He also promised to make it next day, since I had already bought 2 day which they missed. He even promised a FedEx tracking# I could then use. Now here we are on that next day (Fri 7/7/2023) and I have neither the shipment nor the promised tracking# There is one thing that is different: now the website lists my order status as 'backordered'. So first they lie saying the product is available, then they lie about getting it unstuck and giving me a tracking# and finally they say they haven't got it to ship?
Finally, although I see others have been using Whateverworks.com with worse result than I got, Whateverworks has provided me the most miserable Internet service I have personally seen. I have to agree with the others who insist they should be shutdown.
Desired outcome: Get K9946958 delivered to me immediately and shut down Whateverworks.com Oh, and refund me the money wasted on service never provided, the two day delivery of what was not even in stock.
VIP recurring charge that I didn't agree to
Apparently I unknowingly signed up for a recurring fee of $14.95 since December of 2019 and it is now January 2023! I called the company, as I am JUST recognizing this on my statement which I realize is my bad for not realizing this WAY before now. They told me that because I had agreed to free shipping when I order something from them in December of 2019 then I agreed, at that time for monthly charges to be placed on my credit card since that time. That turns out to be over $500.00 that have been charged on my card over that period of time due to an oversight by me which is what the company hoped for. They got what they wanted but I believe that this is a very lowdown method of treating people who have shopped with your company.
Desired outcome: REFUND of monies taken from me every month since December 2019.

Unknowingly I was enrolled in vip membership when I ordered an item
I’ve ordered several times from whatever works. This membership charge continued unquestioned so long as I assumed I was paying for something ordered but in actuality I’ve also ordered items from a competitor catalog. When I received the credit card bill a month later I’d pay thinking I’d ordered. Never received any communication that a membership benefit resulted in a lower price so I remained unaware I’d been enrolled June 2021 through December 2022
Desired outcome: Refund
ORDER NUMBER : K8974224
Received an order but two items out of five did not match the description, so i requested a refund. Talked to customer care who promised to send me a return label within 72 hrs. 72 hrs later i got an email from the company saying that they don't issue return labels and if i want to return an item , i should pay for the shipping.
If this is not fraud, what is?
Desired outcome: TO GET A RETURN LABEL TO SEND THEM BACK THEIR BELOW STANDARD PRODUCTS.
My complaint is about your customer service
I ordered two of the metal cups that keep things hot or cold and the pack of 5 small flashlights. A message appeared on my screen that said my cart was empty. I hurried then to reorder. I then got two emails and each had a different order number. It was obvious that I had some how placed 2 orders. I instantly sent you an email explaining what had happened and requested that the second order be cancelled. Your response was that once it was ordered, it could not be cancelled. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES... I received the second order a full week after I received the first one.
In my search in your wed site I read the section that clearly states that: ORDERS CAN NOT BE CANCELLED AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN SHIPPED.
Now I have talked to someone on the phone and I was finally told to open the second order and use the enclosed paperwork to return the second order for a full refund. A full refund would include all the extra charges P & H and TAX
$71.65. I mailed the second order back today. The Post Office told me that you had not included postage. Now you have cost me another $12.00.
Desired outcome: REFUND $83.65 TO MY CREDIT CARD AND I WILL GO AWAY QUIETLY.
Fraudulent monthly VIP savings plan charging monthly on your credit card
Scammer all the way. Bought a gardening item and got charge monthly for some kinda monthly savings program. So frustrated. Call my credit card company and they told me to contact them. They are true fraudster and couldn't care less. Greed and selfish company. BUYER BEWARE!
Desired outcome: SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN AND PROSECUTE
ez leaf hauler
never received product and could not contact what ever works on line or by phone, lost 40, dollars plus shipping and handling
Desired outcome: send ez leaf hauler or give back monies
VIP membership NOT AGREED TO
I purchased two items from Whatever Works -- Order Number K4571081 --
on September 1, 2020, and my Capital One account has been charged ever since -- from November 2020 to date (July 2021!) -- for a " VIP membership" at $14.95 per month, or $149.50 total to date. I did not sign up for this. I stupidly assumed the charges were due to something my husband ordered, only recently realizing this was a monthly thing, the same amount each month.
Please refund $149.50 immediately.
Thank you.
Desired outcome: REFUND
The same thing happened to me. I think I bought a leaf chute to bag leaves for under $20 and have been charged $14.95/mo since Jan 22-----ten months. This outfit is evil! Nancy Saenz
I have noticed that you are charging my credit card $14.95 /mo. since last 9 Jan 22.
I have never asked to be on your VIP list. I want all these charges refunded. Ten months makes that $149.50. Please restore this amount immediately! Unsubscribe me from your catalog. Do not sell my contact info to anyone. Thank you, Nancy Saenz 13 Oct 2022
Portable cd boombox with am/fm radio and cassette recorder
I purchased this item a few months ago. Have been only using the cassette recorder. I tried to play a cd and it would only play half of a song then just shut off. I tried cleaning my cds and then realized it was doing that to every cd.. At first it just skips a couple of times and then quits all together. I like the idea of this boombox and would very much like a new one.
Desired outcome: replacement. Studebaker CD Boombox from Spectra merchandising International Inc. 4230 North Normandy Avenue, Chicago, IL 60634
Heavy duty steel garden hose.
I have purchased 2 heavy duty 100 ft. hoses this summer. One is perfect, the second seems to have a broken lining as water squirts out several places along the hose. Do you replace them as the cataloge #KD7-476 pp. 7 says, "will last a lifetime" in the add. Do I have to return the split lining one? Address is: kkt.[protected]@gmail.com or

“buying club”
I never authorized anything such as a Whatever Works "Buyers Club." I only have order from this company online and have never spoken to anyone over the phone. I keep seeing a charge show up on my AMEX account for $14.95, and have no idea what this charge is. At first, I thought it was something that I had ordered and had not received as they are notorious for everything being on backorder and never send your complete order at the same time. For that reason alone, I have quit shopping there. I need to know how to make them stop charging my card for this ridiculous charge that I did NOT authorize.
vip buyer program
Made a purchase from this company around the holidays. After that one purchase the company automatically enrolled me into some VIP Buyer Program that debits your checking account $14.95 per month and so far have been billed a total of $44.85 for non-authorized services. I never made any further purchases and will never do business with them again. I have read negative reviews on this company from purchasers who have had the same thing happen. I have demanded the company return the $44.85 that I never authorized. This is clearly a scam.
I also am being charged $14.95/month for VIP membership of which I want no part! I am contacting them. I will never purchase from this company again.
vip club membership
I received my order and 2 weeks later this co. charged my card $14.95 for a so called VIP Club membership. I didn't order this and don't know what it is. I have called twice to ask for a refund and so far haven't received one. This is a scam and trick they do to there customers, like the "Auto Refill" that some co's trick people with. I should of done an internet check on this co. before placing order and they have many bad reviews.
vip program
When I ordered by phone some things from their catalogue before Christmas, their cheerful rep confused me and practically scammed me into their so-called vip program. They sell some stuff I would never want, e.g., women's sex toys, and other stuff I cannot imagine getting except for a little present every two or three years, e.g., a blade to cut your seat belt in case you're in an accident and trapped in it. They provide no way I can find online to cancel this bogus vip membership, for which they'll clip my credit card every month. I WANT OUT OF IT, and they won't say how.
AVOID this bunch.
Catalog
You sent this catalog to my business and a small child picked it up and became upset because she saw dildos and sexual items on page 50-51. Wtf this catalog is advertised and garden, home and pest not sex toys. I am pissed off!. Whoever is in charge of this publication should be fired! Really nothing else needs to be said but since this complaint form requires 350 word minimum requirement I do not recommend doing business with this p.O. S. Company. This just cost my business 2000 dollars in profit because the customer scooped up her child and stormed out the door.
My order for two items became 3 orders for the same items
On 3/2/18/ placed an order by phone for 2 items. The next day I had a charge for those items plus two more on my credit card report. I called Whatever Works and was told I had placed three orders 2/27/18 - - -three orders for the same two items. I called and was told I had ordered them 2/27. I told her I was not going to pay for three of the same thing - to get rid of two of the orders. She said it couldn't be done, so I asked to speak to someone who could do it. She had me wait about 5 minutes on hold and then said the same things she had said before. I reiterated I was not paying for items I hadn't bought. Again I went on hold. This time they had located my order from last night. She said the first order from 2/27 had already been shipped and would be here 3/7. The order from last night would also be here 3/7. She said I would be charged for the two sent orders till I returned one of them. I am cancelling payment - and appreciate your warning to avoid using abusive language. You certainly recognize the temptation!
Content of catalogue
I received an unsolicited catalogue and was looking through it. The front cover was titled garden, home, pest control. I wasn't really interested in buying anything, but like the skymall magazine on airlines there was some humorous content. I however became agitated when I got to page 54 and 55. On those 2 pages there were adult sex toys advertised. I can not believe they would inject those items in the magazine. What if my 7 year old grandson saw that? I am totally ticked off at this company. I want to put a stop to receiving the magazine, but must input my email address on their website to do so. They are not getting my email to sell to someone else and their magazine will go straight from the mailbox directly to the trash which is exactly what this company is. Trash trash trash.
General comment
Do not order from this company! Overpriced items plus excessive shipping costs and non-existent customer service. When I ordered on-line there was no indication the item was not in stock. After a month with nothing more than an order confirmation I sent an email to customer service that was never answered. I checked my order status on their web site and found out the product was backordered. After another month I found the identical item from another company that was $20 cheaper and no shipping charge. I immediately called whatever works to cancel my order but it was delivered two weeks later. I refused the shipment and confirmed via usps that it was received at their distribution center. Three weeks later, my card has not been credited. Absolutely the worst on-line shopping experience I have ever had.
Product not shipped, in spite of paying for expedited shipping.
My complaint about whateverworks.com is the same as others on this complaints board--there is definitely a trend with this online retailer. I ordered merchandise on line and paid extra for 2-day expedited shipping. Their order confirmation e-mail said "You will receive additional confirmation emails for your order within the next 24 hours". That didn't happen, although the customer service person insists it did (I triple checked my e-mail inbox, junk mail, deleted folders). Five days later I had not received an e-mail advising shipping details, so I called customer service. The customer service lady could only tell me "the warehouse has your order". I asked for more details, and asked when the order would ship, and got a lame excuse about "they have been doing inventory", and that it would ship the next business day, but not on the week end. The soonest delivery will be nine days after the order--so much for 2-day delivery. And they are still going to charge me for expedited shipping. The only option offered is to cancel the order altogether.
