over charged my pay off.
I called to buy out (pay off) a table I had leased. Online it showed my buy out amount as $104.14. I tried to pay it online and it wasn't working, so I had to call in and speak to a representative . The representative read that same amount back to me as the buy out amount. I asked for some type of receipt or confirmation for the buy out and the amount and the representative told me they don't offer receipts or confirmation. Now I know why! I just checked my statement and they charged me $144.14. So I called in to get my money back and instead of looking at my account and seeing the error, the representative I spoke with said he doesn't see that happening and he would need to review the initial phone call. I took it as him basically not believing me and now I have to wait 72 hrs to hear something back. They've already done something untrustworthy so now I'm worried they may lie and not give me MY $40 back. It's a bunch of BS. Use extreme caution with this company.

poor customer service
I bought a product already paid my first payment and a lot of main parts were missing. I called the customer service and I was told to "hold on a freaking minute" by Andy Martinez, I called again and talk to Marion he refused to give me his employee number or extension and both refused to let me speak with a manager. Said there isn't a manager there, if a business is open a manager is there at all times, this was the worst service I've ever received in my life, needless to say I went to Wal-Mart and bought the product the same day, Wal-Mart was so much easier and friendlier

opened fraudulent account
Why Not Lease It opened account with someone who used my Identity to purchase furniture in A different state than where I live and I sent in Affidavits and police report to fraud department but collections department told me that I was responsible for account because it was in my name even though I never opened account I don't think they even checked with their fraud department about account they acted like I was just making excuse so I wouldn't have to pay account and instead of them closing account and charging it off they sold it to another company and I had to send Affidavits and police report to the new company
If Why Not Lease It mailed me A check for $100, 000 for the trouble I went through that would be great but most likely they won't because they probably don't think they did anything wrong

paying on & pay off on purchases.
In December of last year, i found my finances were too low to purchase Christmas gifts. I learned about the tempoe program, which is also ran through Why not lease it. I was told i would need to make 5 payments & then i could buy out purchases. I put $140.00 then paid the other payments, only to find out they are still going to take a payment from my checking again next month. & then i will have a buy out of almost another $500.00, so for about a $700.00 purchase of Christmas gifts i have already paid the original amount of purchase, & was told there would be no interest on the lease program. So when i call them they tell me i still owe 1 more payment plus an additional $500.00, i learnt a lesson. Kmart just ripped me off, i am a senior citizen who has been disabled for 5 years now due to heart complications. This is more unneeded stress. I need HELP, i cannot believe company is intentionally doing this kind of business, also Kmart should be made more aware of the programs they make available to their customers.
television
Don't do it! My family member offered to pay off so we called and set it up for a one time payment over the phone I had another account with them and the company just started using their account to make my monthly payment's. I called to fix it and a supervisor was to call me back the next pay cycle it still wasn't fixed and no-one ever called me. I called back and was hung up on. I called back and was told it was my fault for not calling to remind them a supervisor was supposed to call me. What? I've paid about 2, 000 for a 600 TV. I hate this company! Stay away!

leasing
Omg where do i start. Go to the store no one has no clue how this program works. Stupid me didn't look at reciept until I got home, item was suppose to be on sale for 449.00 they charged me full price (my fault). They started calling me about paying off lease saying if I didn'tpay it off now none of the payments would go towards purchase price .So finally paid it off at an outrages amount on top of what I've already paid. Customer service is just terrible if you have a problem they don't deal with it they give no answers when I wanted to speak to a supervisor they told me to hold on then they put a recording on saying we're sorry we can't help you at this time, a brief reason then the phone hangs up. DO NOT USE WHY NOT LEASE IT... go to Aaron's or rentacenter... that's what I should have done.
A Profit. I am currently trying to get a Balance to my agreement. I have paid the required 5 months. No late payments, No troubles at all. I called to get the payoff ( it is 3 months past the required time. I should be finished) they said I owe another $283.00. The last 3 Payment did not count towards my payments. It's like I was just giving them money. I don't have money to give away. I asked to speak with a Supervisor. I was not able to talk with on. I was put on a call back system. An hour past no call. I then call them and was told all the Supervisors were on break. All of them? I agree this is a Rip off company. I will warn all who will listen. Lay a way, put a little back here and there, go to Aarrons. Anything but WNLI!
washer/dryer from sears
I should have done more research! This company is terrible. They make you believe you are leasing these items to own, not one person at the sears I got the washer & dryer from explained to me what exactly this was all about either. Which is why I will never do business with them or whynotleaseit ever again.
I'vd sent emails and messages for the past few months and all have received no response at all. The online account has error pages in the most convenient places... I called just today, to try and speak with a representative and the system hung up on me 6 times. Only when I went online and printed out the agreement they have there (I'd never seen or heard this before) did I see a little blurb that says this is not lease to own. So, you basically make a big first payment... Agree to bi-weekly or monthly payments for 3, 6 or 9 month increments - then after the 3, 6, 9 months - you have to pay the rest off in one chunk. If you do not, you are making those bi-weekly or monthly payments just to line their pockets. You'll still be required to pay that same chunk off no matter how long you pay those payments after your 3, 6, 9 month increments. I feel completely duped and on top of that - not one of my quesitons that were emailed ever got an answer and no one answers the phones. Believe these reviews! 90% negative!

bissell carpet cleaner
The selling price at Sears was $119.00 as it was a floor demo model, my payments were $13.00 every 2 weeks after 10 months of regular payments ($260.00) Icalled to see what my payoff would be and was told $257.00 to pay it off! I almost chocked. Now I knew going in that I was going to pay probably double but this was ridiculous! Also after looking at my account I discovered that on 3 occasions $10 was taken out of my
bank account by WNLI the week aftermy $13 payment was deducted and nobody was able to tell me why. LOL! I told WNLI that I would just return the machine and was told I would have to pay a $35 return fee, by now I'm really laughing...at myself for being so STUPID! After finally speaking with a supervisor the payoff bargaining began. From $257 payoff down to $25 to pay it off; I also told them to never again call, text or email me! I WILL NEVER FALL PREY TO THESE GET IT NOW SCHEMES. I will save my $ until I can pay cash!
leasing policy
This company is a total rip off! Their terms of use does not explain that you are paying an additional fee for using to them on top of the price of the item you purchased from the store! So yo end up paying $200.00-$300.00 dollars in addition to what you thought was a decent price! It is a shame you can't get a good deal anymore! I don't want anything from them other than they make their leasing policies more understandable!
purchased drawer
By far the most horrible experience ! The idea is to save money but in the long run you end paying more than the amount owed. I had successfully paid my monthly accruing charges on time however, my card on my file had expired and I immediately begin to get email notifications stating that I was behind a payment. I set up my account thru whynotleaseit.com and even paid the late fees accrued due to my negligence of updating my card information in their system. The system reflected a total balance due plus late fees in which I discontentedly paid for under the assumption this would pay the balance in full.
By my disbelief - this was not the case and I had been accruing fees since then. Not by my error this time of having an expired card but, their system not reflecting the correct amount. I called to discuss the fees accrued and the amount owed and they quoted double then what is owed from my initial balance and or purchased item itself. I will NEVER go thru this program again. It was better to have paid for the unit in full whether than try to save few dollars up front!
To add, I have spoken to two different representatives and after I go thru my spill of payments and prepared to unfortunately pay the remaining balance I am disconnected! Horrible and unfortunate! People please be aware you pay more at the end than what the purchased item is worth! It is not a bargain at all!
Good Riddance!

them charing me triple for a phone that went hot and was over charged in I dnt have it and they charging me tripple the phone in more

fraud
Im amazed about the continued complants that i have just found on the web indicating how our money is being taken from us, this is going back to 2014 that i can see i wish i would have knownthis before using why not lease it. I was approved for $1000 1 year ago and although i was advised at Sears and Kmart that i would pay a certain amount biweekly and i could pay the full amount by 4 months or continue biweekly for an extra $5 biweekly until this was paid off i did not know that i would be paying for ever in the toon of $2000 for a $1000 purchase, i was not provided with a contract exept a receipt with little or no information. Now i've realized that the company has taken an extra $949.86 claiming this is a lease fee and its not refundable! so basically they are charging us 4 times the cost of any product purchased though them and they get to keep it all. wow! if i ever wondered what fraud, trickery and deceiving ment this 100% explains it to me. I will make sure to go on every social media possible to inform people not to use Why not lease it /Tempo because they will loose there hard earn money to a company becoming rich on their dime. I'm a single Mother trying to make ends meet and to be hustled in this way just because i thought this is easier for me biweekly payments great! I tell you i rather have nothing than to give rich people my hard earned money. I will continue to investigate and consult a lawyer for possible mass lawsuit because for what i can see there is alot of unahappy customers and I'm sure they would all be willing to participate.
bait and switch
I had $1600 in had st Sears and was prepared to purchase a 65 inch Samsung curved TV.
When I went to check out, the rep advised me that I was approved for a Leasing Program for up to $1700. I asked if they report to all 3 credit bureaus, he said they do so I said ok I will do it only if I can pay it off in 3 months.
He asked for my license and after all was said and done, told me my total was $275.62 and told me to sign the receipt as I paid on my debit card.
Fast forward to 2 months later, I log onto the account to check out the payoff for the TV . (Including taxes and minus my initial payment, the finance amount was $1378.12)
Mind you, I have already made 2 payments of $275.62 (not including the initial payment) So WHYYYYY is the payoff showing $1234.80? Then to top it off, I decide to check the "payment schedule" and it has 18 months in the amount of 275.62 per month which comes out to a whopping $4961.16! For what was a $1653.74 TV (including taxes) I am paying 3 times the amount if I continue to lease it ! And the only reason I took the bait in the first place is I never thought in a million years that Sears would be involved in such a scam - I did not think I needed to look over anything as I was under the impression that I was receiving financing through Sears and I have purchased many things from them in the past with no issues.
In addition to this, I have decent credit and I was only attempting to build onto that. For a person who had the money in hand and was prepared to spend it I feel foolish for trusting in Sears to do right by their customers by NOT doing business with such a shady company. (Why Not Lease It)
I have yet to contact Why Not Lease It regarding this matter, because I am getting my debit card cancelled as of tonight so they can no longer charge me for this. They can come and get the TV and go shove it or they can allow me to pay off the balance of what is due for the purchase price of the TV - and if they have an issue with that they can speak to my attorney.
If you would have paid off in 90 days as you stated you were going to, you pay 10% over purchase price, if you want to run it out to the end yes it will cost a lot more, but that is what a special finance program is. I have used it 3 times and very happy
customer service/payments
I was told upfront about payments and length of payments. I have talked to Customer Service on many occasions, never had a problem. If you don't read your contact, it's on you! Thank you WNLI. I passed the word in to many people and so far one lady had used this program. She, too, appreciates the service. My suggestion, use pictures with crayon to explain the lease contracts.
TOTALLY AGREE, read the contract and appreciate the ability to purchase on credit.
falsely getting you to sign an agreement
I had an account with them and, I was told but three different people (sales associate, 2 customer service providers) about only going to pay what I owe then I paid what I owe, they tell me that I still am only leasing and that I have to pay another $368 to even own it. I pay it off and they proceed to tell me that I have to call on August 29 to get my proof of ownership they don't send it to you. So technically I still don't own it after I paid it off. These people are a joke and need to be out of business that is not how companies succeed in business.
This company lies to you to get you to sign, I looked at the lease and it says nothing about paying for your stuff then paying for the same thing again.I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST TO ANYONE TO USE THEM
lease
I used a lease from Why not lease it and I ended up paying triple the amount of the item I purchased. I bought a treadmill for a little less than 1, 000. I made a down payment of almost $200. Then I paid on time every month 147.72. I thought they would stop charging me as soon as I paid what I owed but they didn't. 1 year later I called to buy out my lease and they are charging me 407.72. Now I'll have paid more than $2, 500 for a regular, nothing out of the ordinary treadmill that was supposed to be less than $1000.
tablet lease
Everyone else has given the details. I just wanted to confirm that what they warn of is true. I have paid $1, 300 on my $1, 000 purchase and have (HAD) $800 more for a buy-out. No thanks, I'm sending the junk back...once they FINALLY give me an address. I'm about ready to dump it at Sears. If they keep putting me off, I will! I've asked multiple times for a return address. Also, if they keep taking DOUBLE payments out of my paycard that I NEVER gave them or agreed to, it will end up in court! Sears too...who HAD to have given them that information.
I am happy to see other people having problems with this service. When I picked up my tablets, it was explained to me as a rent-to-own service. I picked the tablets in September 2015 and here I am trying to find out how much more do I owe. I have not gotten a statement after 5 months that I was told I would get. I went to their website to find out what is going on. Can't sign up to see my account. I never signed up before so there shouldn't be any ID/password combo under my email address. I am ready to block them from my credit card. Can't even reach them by email. Not sure if speaking to a rep will resolve anything since I cam get anything in writing from them.
payments
this company is a rip off, they offer you a payment plan with out explaining that you are not paying off the product in question but rather renting it, so they keep charging you every 14 days over and over until you actually pay off the product completely. I ended up paying 1200 for a 600 dollar item. until I decide to check my account. ridiculous I will never use them again. such a rip off
Whynotleaseit? Rip off paying 3660.00 for a 1000.00 mattress! Scam! Can anyone help me find out about class action lawsuit please.
I have a complaint in with the KY Attorney Generals office at this time on these people. I think that is a starting point but would be happy to join Class Action if need to.
other customers making complaints
I purchased a very nice but expensive mower from them, nothing was hidden from me about the interest or rates etc.most people making complaints couldn't spell so I guess they couldn't read the agreement .I paid my payments, did the buyout, no rude customer service.every thing worked out fine, I got my nice mower, they got their money, period.
Used the early buy out within 2 months paid in full 2/22 and they continued to take payments 2/24. 3/1 talked with them on the phone and they said money would be refunded. 3/9 NO MONEY YET
I bought a mattress and box spring set from Sears and I agree with the gentleman that bought the lawnmower! It was explained very well! I leased it like I agreed to, elected to buy it as spelled out in the contract and it was as simple as that! I am going back to buy a lawn mower, blower, and weed eater in the near future! In my opinion it is a very good program spelled out very clearly up front. You need to read what you are signing where you know what the contract says! I had no problems and I bet the ones that had bad customer service weren't being very nice to start with!
horrible program, things are not explained properly. rude customer service
We decided to look at new couches at ABC Warehouse. We decided to go with a bundle they had with a TV, couch and two lamps. After being offered the financing Why Not Lease it offered at ABC we decided to go with it instead of paying the full amount up front. We were NOT explained this properly. They explained it as 90 days same as cash and if not paid off in the 90 days, we could continue to make the payments we agreed to, but would be charged interest until the set was paid off. We asked several questions, and wanted to make sure we understood this properly before signing. Nothing was EVER said about only "leasing" this furniture. After several payments towards this, we thought it should be just about paid off. I called Why Not Lease it and was informed that we automatically are only leasing it now because the 90 days had ran out. We could continue to lease it for about $350 a month like we have been paying, and after 18 months our lease would be up and they would come get the furniture only if it was in acceptable condition, or we could buy it out right for over $1000. Only $33 from the over $350 monthly payment had been going towards the actual furniture. If we were properly explained how this worked we would have NEVER signed up to pay $350 plus a month to lease this furniture! Yes it is our fault for not reading the few page agreement that was given to us on a credit card reader, but we figured after asking over and over exactly how this worked we figured we were okay. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of customer service on the phone, and when you do they are rude and do not explain things in full detail if they know you are not completely happy with what is going on. I explained to one of the customer service representative on the phone that when we agreed to this, the employees ate ABC warehouse did not explain this the proper way, and that we told we would be charged interest after the 90 days, not signed up to lease the items. The employee of Why Not Lease it basically said it was not his problem. I understand it is not his problem, but being in the customer service industry, you would think maybe he could have responded little better. I asked him to reset my password with an email so I could read the agreement online. While waiting for the email to come, he said he had other customers to tend to and I had to call back if I wanted any more help. I never received the email to reset from him. I did call back and the lady I talked to than for the first time actually sent me the email to reset my password. Beyond baffled that the company can operate this. Stay clear of Why Not Lease it and they companies they work with. Things are not explained properly, and you are treated poorly from the employees. One bad review gets to about twenty plus people with word of mouth. The only thing that would make me a satisfied customer is if the payments we have made ($2174.64) was put towards the balance on the set that was owed. Nothing outrageous, just back to the original agreement that was explained to us.
I emailed the company on the email that the bbb.org website had provided. I received a phone call a few hours later stating that the issue was going to be taken care of due to the misunderstanding and lack of explanation that was given to us. Extremely satisfied that they were fast in responding, helpful and resolved the issue we were having. This is a leasing company, not a financing company as we were explained to from the store we purchased the furniture from. Lesson learned for us...read all the fine print and don't believe everything the sales person tells you!
How long did it take to resolve your issue. I am having same exact issue from sales associate to why not lease it. What was the name of the company you emailed?
After going rounds with the customer service reps at Why Not Lease It, I gave up and emailed the company. I found the email address right on bbb.org under Why Not Lease It. I explained it was my fault for not fully reading the whole agreement policy page (which was pages long and shown to us only on a small credit card reader) explained all that happened, informed them of their rude customer service, and said the only way we would be satisfied is if it was paid off completely and ours. (which we did pay the full amount we were supposed to). I also stated I would email them first before posting on the actual bbb website of the horrible experience I had. I received a phone call within a few hours from them, extremely nice lady who ended the contract and we were all set. Hope this helps!
I called them to clear up my accont and was hung up on
Does not surprise me. The customer service rep that I first talked to was extremely rude.
