I received a pair of pajamas for christmas from winter silks. My husband placed the order on 10-21. They shrunk a lot despite the fact that I followed the label instructions for laundering. So I returned them as defective and requested a refund. I called ws in advance to ask about making a return, since I no longer had any original packaging before mailing them back. They received the package on 2/5. When I had not received any refund in a reasonable time frame, I called and was told that they could not speak with me because I was not the account owner, despite the fact that it was a christmas gift. Because of their hours of operation, it was not possible to have my husband call them, so we communicated in writing. When even more time elapsed without a refund, and I tried following up a second time over the phone, I was once again told they could not speak with me. I asked for a supervisor and got ms."eliason." she looked into it for me and told me that we would not be receiving a refund because it was after the 60 days return policy. I reminded her that it was a christmas gift, which I had clearly indicated on the return package. She said it didn't matter. I pointed out that, because my husband shopped a little early, it would have been impossible to return it within 60 days, and that most companies extended their return policies to be at least 60 days after christmas. She said that any purchases made from november 1 through christmas had a 90 day return policy. So I asked for her to extend that courtesy to me, since my husband shopped a little early, and she refused. I asked her for the name of someone who could make an exception, and she told me that no one would do that. Upon request, she gave me the name and address of the president, chris wilson, if I wanted to write to him. (from her negative attitude, this recourse sounded like it would be an exercise in futility.) she said they sent gift cards for store credit, but I have not received anything at all. Now I am stuck buying something to replace my pajamas from ws. I don't want to be a customer of a store with such inflexible policies, and whose merchandise shrinks, but I have no other options. Please be warned before you shop at this company's website. We will never purchase anything from ws again.

They charged me for nothing.
I ordered three dresses for my wife, they shipped just one and two other were on back order. However, they said that the dresses will be sent within one week.
Ok, one week went by and I called them to remind them а the dresses shipping. They said that the order was canceled. All of a sudden.
Saying that I was shocked and unpleasantly surprised is to say nothing. Who canceled the order that was already paid? No one knows. I don't believe them though.
Demanded to refund as fast as possible

I made a $50 purchase. During the process of ordering and checking out, I must have punched a button which triggered a $15/month "membership" fee. When I disputed the amount, noting that I would never "buy" any sort of thing, many apologies were forthcoming, a promise to refund my $15 and cancel my "membership" to insure no further charges would be made. Very deceptive website. Nope, not on my watch. No longer a customer or potential customer.

Ordered some items from wintersilks and received them in reasonable time and loved everything. So I decided to order something again. They gave me a discount coupon and I tried to apply it on my second order, but it did not work and I was charged the full price. Contacted customer service and they promised to check what had happened. Later they contacted me and said that there was nothing they could do and offered me another coupon on my next order. I asked they how can I be sure that it will work but they did not reply. They were not even sure will it work or not! Totally unprofessional. This company is not so bad as many others, but i'm very disappointed and I guess I will not be buying from them again.

Inaccurate sizing listed on site and terrible customer service.in early december, I ordered two silk underwear tops. Before ordering, I called to confirm the sizing, which the site listed as women's, although similar ones were all unisex. They confirmed it was women's sizing. First, the package was delayed in arriving, and they said it was due to truck breakdown. When it finally arrived, the tops were way too big, clearly unisex sizing. I called and they said the website had been wrong about the sizing and they would not charge me for return shipping and would honor the sale price on replacements. It is now 3 weeks since I sent them back and they have not processed the return. They said returns usually take up to 3 weeks to process but this might take 4 due to the holidays.

Horrible. the mens herringbone shirts are pure crap and look nothing like the ones on the website. garbage quality and construction. the shirts went straight into my garbage can.
I ordered an item as a gift for my mother, and they have been selling my contact information to other catalog companies. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM or be prepared for them to give your information away to anyone and everyone!

A warning: exchanges take 3weeks.in those 3weeks your item you want to exchange for could be sold out.
The option they offer is to do an exchange over the phone and have your new item shipped to you before the returned one has been processed, however if you had bought the original during a sale, they won't honor the sale price. You would have to pay the full, original price.
So you better be sure of the size you need when you make the original purchase, and hope the color and quality are what you wanted, because exchange is a beech.
For the most part, their spun silk clothing is very good quality and very warm. It will shrink some in the wash, but at least it doesn't easily run like filament silk will. I have found that before any seams rip that the colors fade and fabric shows wear, so the garments tend to be put together well. But you will pay quite a bit for shipping in exchanges, so returning item that are less than $50 will seem pretty expensive.

I was a loyal customer for 30 years, but no more. I'll be finding another supplier for my silk long johns from now on. Customer service at wintersilks is now horrible. They have little to no product knowledge and there is no one there to care if we are happy or not. All I can do is warn all my facebook friends to stay far away from wintersilks. Hopefully others will do the same.
I will never use this company again
I received an order for two items from winter silks. One of the items was to large so I completed the paper work for an exchange and returned the package 3 weeks ago. Today I called customer service to find out the status of the exchange and was told they no record of the order being returned and would not do anything for 30 days. I asked for a refund and again was rudely told they would do nothing for 30 days and that I should have called and just ordered the correct size from them. I will never use this company again. Please stay away from this company. They are using your money.
anyone who is that slow to contact a customer doesn't need my business
Ordered about $200 worth of mechandise - i'm a woman's size so if I find a company that offers quality product I buy - but I had it shipped to my work address instead of my home address. Two weeks later, nothing. I contacted them to cancel the order (which they did) but was told that the items were not shipped "because of the address discreptancy." they also claimed that they mailed out a post card to my address the day after I placed the order (I placed it in the evening, fair enough.) however interestingly I did not receive the postcard until a week after I canceled the order. Why they did not contact me by telephone or by email, and why it took three weeks for me to get the postcard I don't know. But anyone who is that slow to contact a customer doesn't need my business.
I won't order from this company ever again
Customer service has gone completely out the window with this company. They used to be friendly, warm, and helpful, even in the midst of the christmas rush. Now, just about everyone you speak to is rushed, curt, unhelpful, and even nasty and sarcastic. I spoke to four different customer service representatives, and only one of them was even vaguely polite.
Try asking to speak to a supervisor. You can't. They won't let you. Not even when you want to place a complaint about an extremely rude operator. They just make you wait longer on the phone, and then come back saying they will deal with it themselves.
The website has bugs and problems, but they don't want to hear about it, and they won't help you get around them.
The prices on the web are usually lower than on the phone — make sure you insist that they honor the lower price. They are required to by law.
I don't care how good the quality is, and the quality has been fairly good in the past. There is no level of quality that could make me want to put up with nastiness from customer service representatives like this.
I won't order from this company ever again.

I also have been ordering from winter silks for years, I had to return items I thought were flimsy, not the quality I had received previously. My total bill was $90. They credited my credit card for $69. So that between shipping and returns it cost me over $20. When I called them to discuss this, I found them to be much less than amiable, she could see my order history, but just stated 'this is the way it is'. They have lost me as a customer for life.
