I've taken airtel postpaid connection ([protected]) I'm not able to receive calls from some BSNL nos. Guy who are calling me hears the msg "this no. does not exist" 2nd thing is when I'm sending sms to any 4 digit no. (7575, 8888 etc) reply i got is "this facility is not available to ur no". I'm complaining from 14th june continuously but customer care executives are just giving another date. What a horrible service!

I'm an Airtel User of more than 10 months but now I feel ole Reliance was better. I've the following to convey:

1. Range & Network: OK
2. NOP Service: Airtel's business model to steal your chillars - never activate this (complete waste of time & money)

3. GPRS: Will probably be activated in the next week (with immediate effect)

4. Customer Service: Cannot really tend to our queries as their system throws up data after 48 hours

5. 121: Is at times charged and a refund promised within 48 hours

6. Value Added Services: Dont even think about it unless u wana go bankrupt

7. VAS Download: Is a curtain for these thieves to steal more (sometimes goes unnoticed)

8. Servers: Are so dead - They'll have to take a loan from Hutchison Essar to get new servers

9. Best Way Out: If you arent stuck like me (ur clients / customers u painstakingly developed over the months have ur airtel numba) Change to Hutch / BSNL / Idea

If u r really stuck that way, dont mind spending couple of thou's calling them all & informing of number change - & burn that Airtel SIM.

I had recharged my postpaid card, but still was not working its said number out or service, so when i been to the airtel showroom Pimpri Branch they dint gave me any response of my qurries, so i had to go to chinchwad there i get to know that my number has been already re-cycled, and now they can't even give me the same number.

They told me to buy new number and then they will transfer the my balance on the new number which i recharged on my old number... Now i am just waiting that to happen its been more then a month now.

Bangalore.

It is very regretting about to even write a letter or a complain letter about a company which is rated top most companies in INDIA among the telecommunication. I am a user of airtel since three years but i never had a problem of any kind. I was very proud to speak to anyone at any place. But now i have come to a conclusion that i was mistaken or rather probably the quality of service might have gone down. The root problem is not on the part of in any system or technical but rather it is the side of the human which fails to understand the problem of human itself.

The major problem here with the customer executive is that they are in a more hurry than us to solve the problem and at the same time they are in a hurry to cut the call which is just irritating with them. This way a user cannot solve his or her problem.

Now let me explain my problem. My no. is [protected] and i am in a college plan. There was an offer on 9th of july where in a recharge of denomination of Rs.135 one will get Rs.165. I was happy and quickly i had recharged it twice but unfortunately i did not get full talktime even. Then after three days again an offer came of making calls all over india anywhere @1 Re/min. The procedure to get activated was to just sms STD89 ACTV to 222 and i did it immediately because i needed it. It was to be activated within 48 hours and i waited for two days but it was not activated.

After this i complain about these two problems to customer care about a no. of times but none have been solved yet. In between i had a no. of problems with customer care executive itself but which i think i don't have further time to share and express inspite of being a student. This might seem to be a small problem for them but not for me.

So beware!

I requested Airtel for shifting my residence phone within GUrgaon on 18th July. Today is 27th July. They have not done so. They claim that if the phone remains dead for more than four hours, they'd pay a compensation of Rs. 100/per hour! I'd be a rich man without a phone if Airtel lives up to its boast (and does not shift my phone).

Long live India Shining. Bharti (owners of Airte) is India's showpiece communication company. Can anyone forward it to Airtel, as when I wanted to complain to a supervisor, I was made to hold for over ten minutes. I lost my patience after that looong hold.

Unfortunate customer of Airtel!

I recently had some problem with my mobile bills, or rather they had some problem. It was like this - I got the bill for my mobile use for the month of June by the end of June and was given a due date of 18th July for payment. I had made the payment by july 17th. And since 18 th July I have been getting several calls from the airtel accounts department regarding the confirmation of my bill payment. Every time they call me and inquire if I had paid the bill and I say 'yes', their job is done right there, they hang the phone down. They neither really confirm if the payment is done on their records nor are they bothered about the 'customer service'. They nearly confused me, every time they call me to confirm if I had paid the bill, my yes was all they hear to, they don't even talk anything more, as though their confirmation is over! yet again they repeatedly kept calling me- confusing me every time. Finally after 15 days they suddenly canceled my outgoing facility - and I was out of station.Though I was not in town I was continuing to receive these bill confirmation calls, where in once even I asked them if they were intentionally trying to increase my roaming bill! Finally when I come back and call the customer support and question them with all high tones and anger, now they budge a little to actually verify if the payment was done. they ask me a couple of more questions as to the date of payment , the bill no...etc. After checking his records, he suddenly tries to close the issue saying - 'okey you have made the payment, I will initiate your service again'. Another word with a little more frustration from my side, he starts apologizing and accepting the mistake on their part. This just shows how unprofessional the organization is being carried and their indifferent attitude towards customers. I don't really find a single reason for private players to boast about their services especially comparing themselves with government services! When I ask some more details as to who was responsible to update these details?, why was it not updated and I would like to make a complaint about that person - everything goes unanswered! There is no transparency in their system either! And finally I was at loss for not getting service for about 5 days!

Now what I would seriously like to know is that - is there something that I can claim from airtel for the loss of service without any mistake of mine! Would I still have to pay the rental for those 5 days where my service was barred, in my next bill?

I understand business organizations are very profit oriented - but should limit themselves only to the service they provide to the customers - NOT at the cost of their customers! I would really want some guy from airtel to take up this issue as a challenge, try and explain me the attitude with which all this was carried on-- is it that you are DOUBTing your customers? It does not for sure seem to anybody like it is just a ' mistake' , it has to be something more than that, should try and address that greater issue by actively developing a more professional attitude, improving the quality in the procedures followed for internal management... etc.

I m an airtel prepaid customer from chattisgarh and using MOBILE OFFICE (GPRS) service. Since 20 days i m not able to use GPRS on my laptop as well as on mobile, i have complained lot of times to GPRS helpline but no action was taken and i was continuously charged for 20 days or so. Then my balance becomes low and service was deactivated by airtel. Now again i have recharged my account and i have also sent a request to re-activate MOBILE OFFICE service. Now it has been more then 72 hours and still my service is not activated and the customer care executives have barred my calls to 121 their helpline number. I m very upset and wants to F**** them all.

They are just su**ers and really i don't want to use airtel anymore!

For my emergency i took e-recharge for 3 months validity. Now i am trying to recharge that Rs.210/-. It giving error message like RECHARGE CARD IS NOT IN USE.

I called twice regarding this issue. i am not satisfied with their solution. After that i contacted the vendor who sold to me that card, now he is telling i didn't sold airtel card to you.

This is the one way to cheat the customers.

Most pathetic service ever got from any network across any countries and any states in India and still they are not able to solve the problem. I visited Airtel office outlet on Bannerghatta Road on 23rd July and after standing in a queue for an hour I gave an application to convert my post paid mobile connection to prepaid connection for mobile number [protected]. They told me to clear my bill and then will accept my application. I paid the bill amount of 1364 rupees and submitted the application for prepaid connection. They issued me a Prepaid sim card no.[protected]. and told me that within 4 working days my new sim card will be active and will act as a prepaid mobile number…

I told them that I do not want any disrupted service. They told me that as soon as my post paid connection will go immediately my prepaid connection will start. I told them I am moving out of Karnataka and I want to clear all the bills before I leave and also keep my number for incoming calls for couple of days as I am an IT consultant and I keep getting important calls and I also told them I am quite busy and may not have to time to visit any Aitel outlet personally and as I was leaving Karnataka on 2nd of August, I wanted to make sure that I recharge before I leave, I assumed that once I leave Karnataka without recharging or converting my post paid to prepaid, I may not be able to get any incoming or outgoing calls.

I waited 5 days and then on 28th July I called up customer Service told them that my number is still not converted into prepaid. Instead of solving my problem They told me that they are taking this as a complaint and gave me a complaint number [protected]. told me that they will solve my problem at the latest 1st of August till 12.00 noon. And they will call me in a day or two to solve. When I didn’t heard from Airtel till 31st July. I again called up Customer Service. Again instead of solving my problem they again they took this as a complaint and gave me a complaint number [protected].

Still the harassment continued by Airtel towards me. They suddenly cut my phone on 1st of August around 3 o clock without any communication and message. 2nd of August my prepaid sim card got active. I was receiving calls and messages but I was not able to recharge my prepaid mobile number. I called Customer service to check my mobile number as a prepaid. They said they don’t have any details about my number and told me I cant recharge as the process takes some time from post paid to prepaid. And suggested me to carry with me a recharge voucher as I was leaving Karnataka. I took recharge voucher of 210 with me.

I called numerous times to Customer services of Aitel prepaid and Post paid. to check my number if converted into prepaid and how I can recharge from Maharashtra and also told them hat I am carrying a Voucher of 210 with me, neither they confirmed my number as prepaid. Nor they told me how to recharge.and most of the time they put me on hold and disconnected my call. Post paid Customer service People told me to call Prepaid Customer service , and Pre-paid Customer Service told me to called Post Paid Customer service.

Harassment still continues. Mobile number is of airtel. Network is Airtel but none of the Airtel staff can help me out or solve the issue. When ever I call Customer service they listen to me then they put me on hold to get information and disconnect my call. Some of the staff suggested me to go to consumer forum or court. Now as I decided to go to consumer forum , as I have spend lot of money to solve the issue and suffered huge financial loss due to no incoming or outgoing calls on my mobile number [protected].

I have been to lots of places but never faced any problem by any network across any country. I was talking to my old colleagues in Bangalore. Some of my colleagues faced the same problem while converting from post paid to prepaid. lot of people told me that this is a common practice of Airtel. To get more money out of customers. I assume there are lot of people who has gone through the pain from Airtel Network.

I tried to call this number + 91 080 [protected] for Grievance Redressal probably more than fifty times, either it gave me busy tone or nobody picked up.this number I got it from internet to solve the complaints. I am still not sure weather any body from Airtel will even response to my mail or will try to resolve my problem. And weather they care about the money I spend by constantly calling them to resolve the issue and about my financial losses I faced.

Before I taking any further action I am sending this as a written complaint about the Harassment I faced.

Thanks,
Amol Z.

Nothing to say too much,

The company AIRTEL (BHARTI ) who claims to be the India's No-1 in Telecommunications has left a NO SATISFACTION in my mind have decided not to use it again in the future and do not recommend anyone to take a new one of Airtel.

I have activated internet feature in my mobile by paying the amount of 249 for a month, CCO told that will be activated within 24 hrs, after waiting for said time I again called the Customer Care that Is It activated on my Number, what happened basically it was activated but the Customer Care Executive has not understood my Query and he just deactivated the Internet feature god knows why?

Than after waiting for 48 hrs again I called the Customer care but my call was not getting Connected and IVR info was to send SMS to customer care and I know that If by talking a CCO is unable to solve the Query then how anyone can solve the query or better say problem by SMS.

After getting frustrated I called up my friend who was working there in the same Customer Care as TEAM LEADER and he told about my whole account details that this was just all fault of a CCO.

So I basically mean to say that why to use the service which is not giving better satisfaction to the Customer.

Thanks and Regards,
Rina Ghosh.

I have requested the airtel to change my rate plan to a new plan well in advance(10 days prior to the next billing cycle). They have not effected the change and and wrote me back to remind them 2 days before the new billing cycle. I have not the same due to my office work load. For which reason they have not effected the change and charged me with high tariff. When i contacted them they simply replied that " since you have not intimated 2 days we have not effected". I was wondering why should i be informing the company every now and then to get my work done. When i raised the same point with them they have simply denied all this.

I have purchased 100 dollars worth of call time to India. When I was in US from Airtellcallhome.com. Before I could fully utilize the minutes I had to relocate to UK. So I sent mail for refund. They didn't respond. I called them after 2 weeks. They say they will not give refund and since I have moved they have locked the account.

I told them they have to give refund or unlock the account. So that I can ask my friends in US to use the remaining balance. They are not doing both!

This is case of mistrust, and Airtel mobile service providers are playing with the customers trust. Trust is very important between two parties. Whether it is local service providers or government.

When you have introduced a lifetime scheme (student offer) quoting incoming call are free for lifetime. Provided you have to power your account for every 6 months.

Today also in my mobile when I dial *112# following message is displayed “ Your Service expiry date is 01/Jan/2025 and Your Airtime expiry date is 01/Jan/2025” along with hidden rider unless I go for power charging every now and then.

The dealers also says that you pay 500 bugs I will make it 6 months validity. Whom to believe? If the policy framed do not help customers then they are not polices at all. Again it is ridiculous that if you say lifetime why is that 2025 is restricted. That means I will die on 2025.

OK we agree and thinking that the scheme will be good. However, after 6 months you change your chameleon color that power validity is only for 3 months. What is the Guaranty that you will not again change to 1 month, or even less than that also.

Therefore, it is observed that you operate so flexible scheme that customer will get ultimate confusion and lodge complaint like this.

What solution lies in bringing trust in Indian Airtel Company?

Moreover, the customers are exploited in day light.

Hi all. This is regarding quality of airtel service in maharashtra. I'm saying maharashtra as I'm from the maharashtra circle, so I'm not going 2 comment on other service circles. The service S**K's...
The call drops are frequent, so frequent in specific areas, that while talking in my car, i actually tell the other person that as we talk the call will get cut, do not bother, i'll call back...

Its so damn embarrassing doing it time & again...the customer care rep's are very courteous, very helpful, but do not have enough information about what their job is all about... Absolutely no technical knowledge.
I don't blame the rep's, its just the kind of training they must have got.

AIRTEL desperately needs to clean up its act & concentrate more on customer satisfaction & customer retention rather that dish out some cheap schemes to attract more customers. What is airtel going to earn from the number's game when virtually every second customer they have swears at their service.
All i can say is... All the best !

I received a message from AirTel saying recharge for 498 and will get a talk time of 300/- and a validity of 1 year with Mobile to Mobile at 50 praise per min. But when I did that I got the talk time of 300/- but the validity and and 50 praise per min benefit has not be passed on and on calling the customer care they say that is the correct amount and no one takes the responsibility to redress the issue.

I feel Airtel has the worst customer service. I am from bangalore and i have a prepaid connection. The validity of the card is till 25 jan 2009 and i receive calls on it. But i am unable to make any outgoing calls. I approached an Airtel office regarding this issue but they had no clue of what the problem was and the response from them was "System error", that too their response was not proper and they never seem to be customer friendly. I have never experienced such a bitter experience. I hate these mentally ###ed idiots, who doesn't even know how to treat a customer and they say they are customer care executives. They don't even know a sh8t of what "customer care" means.

I was was given a passcode to access my settings but I'm unable to access the settings. The passcode doesn't work and I was never given a user name. So i haven't been given any settings from the customer services. Infact I think that the customer service is very pathetic. They're not even bothered about what we say they don't even bother to ask if there is any other query that we have. They just drop the call before you could ask them any other question.

My Airtel No. is [protected], activated on4/9/07 , with all the documents and formalities being complete. Now Outgoing calls have been stopped from my cell no. and the msg conveyed is "Submit the documents", though it has been submitted by me and it is asking to call "[protected]", though on calling this no. the same message is conveyed. In fact, the customer care no. "121" is also not allowed by Airtel. Though incoming calls can be received but outgoings are not allowed at all not even to Customer care.

I am very disappointed with Airtel's Service and will never use it again in the near future, if my problem solved immediately. I'll tell this to all my colleagues , friends and relatives never to use 'Airtel' and how poor services they are providing and how they are troubling their own customers, who have subscribed it with trust and reliability.

I am extremely disappointed by the service of airtel. I lost the my sim card on thursday 6th of sep. I made a complaint immediately on that day in (ARC) airtel relationship center in ghatkopar (E). They provided me the duplicate card on 10/9/2007, monday and told me that it will be activated in 4 to 5 hours. Today is thursday, still my card is not been activated. I became the customer of airtel before 20 days and i am facing this problem. Almost a week is passed from the date of my compliant than also the card is not activated. I am very very disappointed.

Really airtel provides the worst services,i frequently use g.p.r.s service but when i send a sms to deactivate this service,i receive massage saying 'u'r request has been registard successfully,u will recieve confirmation massage within 4 hours.' but they never deactivate service & continue to charge 15 rs/day,airtel has launched at the rate of 7.50 rs/day then increased up to 11.99 rs/day & now 14.99 rs but no imrovement in services, speed of internate is not changed, its too slow

I am using Airtell account from USA since March 07, two weeks back by theend of Aug07 my account suddenly blocked i called customer services and after long standing information about me which really sucks they said send an email and problem will dissolved in 5 days i did, even after 5 days it was not dissolves since than and till date i called them 2 times each day and they have same stupid stuff which is knowm as suck selling skill

Problem explained well manner that account is blocked
The customer service rep definately will say (As i understand your phone is blocked even they understand they like to waste time in rephrasing the problem than to verify
1) whats ur billing address( and i have to have tell them about my long billing address)
2)what was the amount when you open the account (and coz they are paying me each month to keep in mind what was opening balance i have to have let them know)
3)what is one of your registered phone number
These qs are so stupid specially when you just asking some thing simple
After this stupid long conversation they always said your phone will be unblocked in 24 hrs and it never appened yet
This is making me crazy because CSR are unable to do anything about opening account and stupid qs and i am unable to call
what to do

I am dealing with the same issue. I had got a new corporate connection just 15 days ago. And an executive came to my residence for address verification on monday at 11 a.m. Obviously I was at work and was not avaialable. Then I got a sms stating that address verification failed and need to contact 121 to avoid disconnecting. I lodged a complaint after that. Next day i found that my out going call was barred. I again called them and again the same song. I fed up and asked the customer executive to cancel my connection, he was delighted and told me to give that in writing.
Airtel is my worst experience till now..

Hearing of the GPRS service of airtel I tried to activate it... the service got activated within 2 hours and the deduction started but the settings were not sent to me... Have been trying since last 2 days but in vain... the only reply i get is do this and that, restart your phone... call the other person or try after 4 hours... Boss I should be getting an sms from you and if not tell me the manual settings the workaround is very simple but... when the Customer care representatives know nothing how can they help... at last am thinking to deactivate the GPRS...

Good Luck Airtel and be the Top Service Provider... but if a company with the highest no of complaints can be at top I could just pity... Its a shame...!

When contacted airtels customer care 121 a lady told me that the bill was returned back on 7th as the house was locked. I am suprise by that because that day my mother and wife were at home. And at the same day the same lady told me that I will receive the bill in 4 working days but today its 21st sept and have till day not received the bill. Will airtel Autority explain this.

I was using my Airtel phone when I was in France. I received a SMS from airtel regarding you are logged in to this network and the call charges are Rs 24/- per minute for all incoming calls. On reaching back to India I received a bill which charged Rs 50/- per minute as the charges. On checking with customer care they told that these are valid charges for this network which was different than the one that I received the SMS from. I have no SMS when the network was changed or the charges of this network. I have not yet paid the bill and would like to drag them to the consumer court.
